Sets all kinds of alarm bells ringing. But I wonder - can it be an outright scam? The people behind this are known, and they will be in deep trouble if it falls apart.

They are hoping that they can pull of a big enough scam that they will be able to afford the lawyers to defend themselves.

When you are too big to fail no one goes to jail, just ask HSBC

Still, its a big risky move. They could've shut down the mining anytime and left with the money and not reveal themselves.
HSBC and all are on another level. Besides, the banks are connected and if the tail is pulled the whole body along with government collusion comes out which they certainly don't want to.

Well thank you all here that dumped your coin on the first day you could at 0.016, I was buying and have now made 2.5 x my money in 2 days, so from the bottom of my bank account I say thank you for turning my $2k into 5K. And for who ever it was who sold 2000 XPY for 40 BTC don't feel to bad I am sure you must of had a lot of money not to care about the 14K you have missed out on.

Well, if it is a scam ... I'm just out a few days of mining electricity.

Rule #1 in my online life .... Never spend something of REAL value (cash, silver, gold) for something of VIRTUAL value.  ( IE: I don't spend cash on game credits, cloud mining, online subscriptions... or crypto-coins)

from the perspective of any critical thinking person looking at paycoin, GAW owns all prime controllers

think about it,
GAW paid 0$ for the paycoins for the prime controllers
No evidence of any investors existing
No wallet based bidding process has taken place

trust is core to crypto-currency, without provability of claims by GAW, paycoin will remain centralized
its not asking much of market makers to make them reveal their identity.

to resolve paycoin's existential trust issue, this will need to be done
each prime controller owner can sign a message with their prime controllers private key and post that on twitter with their company or personal profile to prove its not just GAW that owns the prime controllers.

here is a proposal for a future improvement/fork, involve voting of all stakers into selection of prime controllers so that it takes community satisfaction to be selected, not just big money.

here is a suggestion, allow users to set minimum rating for expanded posts
by default you could have all posts under a certain rating collapsed, such as -5

require that users have 10 total reputation to be able to upvote or downvote others

And why wouldn't you get blocked for that on Twitter?  Why does that shock or surprise you? Twitter is basically an advertisement tool for companies. Do you think if you went on Coca Cola's Twitter page and typed "Coke poisoned my grandmother" that they would let that post stand?  LOL, good grief, its like people don't even think anymore.

my wallet is stuck at block 277 and even thought it has 14 active connections, won't sync.

why would I spend my 5BTC pocket money on a coin which wallet is not functional?

Generally people aren't happy to have their names and their companies smeared through the mud in support of fraud and scammers.  If they could publicly disavow any association with this, it may help fewer people get scammed - the earlier we can pull the rug out from under this, the better.
