I'm thinking about increasing my CON holdings again too, how would you suggest should I wait for some big dump and grab them at low price or it's only going up from now on. PayCon has to overtake PayCoin eventually so still a long road ahead. I really think this milestone will happen sooner or later...

I'm not sure, you could set your buy walls and let people dump into you rather than buying at market price.

I'm currently doing some testing on some adjustable combine thresholds, I've been doing really well recently with small Blocks of 100-200 Coins but had to edit and create a bit of a custom wallet.

Hey for you Windows lovers I have a new pre-release version 1.0.6 with a vast improvement on the combine thresholds. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8qwg6ebbti37pun/PayCon-qt.zip?dl=0

Previous versions would combine all Blocks under 500 Coins into larger Blocks and pay a reward of 30 Coins, however this is inefficient so the change in this latest version will only combine multiple Blocks if over 14 days old and under 30 Coins as the default.

If you would like it to still combine Blocks larger than 30 Coins, up to a maximum of 1000 you can now set your combine threshold in your PayCon.conf file by adding

combinethreshold=500

(if wanting to make the combine threshold after 14 days as 500 Coins however you should not even need to change the combine threshold, it is just optional if you can find that you can receive higher and more automatic combines by adjusting it)

I love my paycon and wanted to get thr word out: http://bitcoinlasvegas.net/paycon-coin-con-releases-wallet-1-06-beta-1-on-june-22nd-at-430pm-pst-with-significant-changes-to-combine-stake-threshhold/

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

This is a little bit Beta, the bluish-white theme isn't displaying properly which was a change to help the theme's on Mac devices so it will look like I will have to revert a previous commit. Always 2 steps forward and 1 steps back but it will be better Staking-Wise by a fairly large margin.

I have been testing all the thresholds over the last week and by changing the combine thresholds, I have been able to Stake with much lower amounts in each Block (typically around 100-200 Coins at the 7 day mark) giving me nearly 100% more Coins per day.

The reason for this is that it would take a smaller Block to Stake (such as 120 Coins), accept that Block and then add multiple other Blocks until over 500 Coins and pay the 30 Coin reward. What you want is that it will not sweep up other smaller Blocks and still have those small Blocks competing for Stake unless it has begun to hit the maximum age so that you can hit POS Blocks with lower amounts of 100-300 Coins and achieve higher rewards and expend less weight in each Block. This would give you more Blocks competing for Stake which will give you more chance to hit each Block. I've hit POS Block with as little as 30 Coins but now that there is essentially no multiple combines until past the 14 day mark, there would be a fairly big increase in the POS difficulty. Increase in the difficulty is good for the network, it provides more security of the network and will create a more average reward among all the users Staking.

I have updated the source to fix the Bluish-White theme as well as updated the forums in the social tab to now link to the PayCon sub-forum on the GetHashing forums. The Change for Mac for the themes has been moved to it's own separate branch for now to build from. Version 1.0.7 Should be ready tomorrowish.

Hey crest i'm not sure what's going on, i setted setstakesplitthreshold to 350, but somehow i find blocks of 700+
Could it be that it's combining my 340 blocks?

Yes, that is what I have changed and you can compile from the latest source and it won't combine those Blocks anymore.

I was trying to figure out why it was combining Blocks so early, turns out it was combining all Blocks under 500 if older and the minimum age. I changed it now that it won't combine multiple Blocks unless older than the maximum age and only less than 30 Coins (however you can change it now to be higher if you want in your PayCon.conf file)

You can see these 2 commits to help you understand what I mean.

https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commit/cdd4058f7cf2dadc7a3ea83b165ae8f269ce09d8 which refactored to work of the maximum threshold.

https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commit/885ecda9180dad9564d75e5d95ca3ad7818d4124 which readjusted the threshold even lower but now allows users to set their own combine threshold past the max age.

Yup. The version I'm building only needs the walletmodel.h, the other one is already fixed.

Great, updated that now, tested out on 32 bit and also builds properly so you shouldn't need to edit that anymore to build from source.

setstakesplitthreshold is for how the wallet handles the outputs of your stakes. If you have it set to 350 it won't split your stake output into two blocks unless they will both be over 350 in size.  The calculations for it I have found aren't perfect. So it is possible to get one close to the edge that doesn't go exactly as planned. I will try to work with crest to refine this code over time.

Awesome news. I knew something BIG will happen soon™er or later with PayCon Smiley

I have 4 instances of conhost.exe running under system, then one running under user, and one running as system service

It´s a  legitimate executable windows process. Nothing to do with PayCon Wink

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4996/what-is-conhost.exe-and-why-is-it-running/

It’s a completely legitimate executable—as long as it’s running from the system32 folder, and is signed by Microsoft.
The conhost.exe process fixes a fundamental problem in the way previous versions of Windows handled console windows, which broke drag & drop in Vista.
If you look at the details of the process from within Process Explorer, you’ll notice that the ComSpec is set to cmd.exe, a clear indication that it’s hosting the command prompt.
  ....

So now you know what the conhost.exe process does, and why you should never attempt to delete it. Ever.

You still using Win 7 ?

It's Windows 8, but why would Microsoft name a program after Paycon?  Can we as a community expect a class action settlement?

Maybe we can Con them into changing the name to PayConhost.exe? and will automatically install the PayCon wallet? I hear Steve Ballmer is a pretty nice guy, I don't think it would take too much Convincing.

Hey so I had the latest changes rebuilt but there was some bug introduced that is making the Bluish-White Theme not display properly. Version 1.0.6 is fine but Version 1.0.7 it looks all funky, I figured it was the Mac changes but it isn't.

I've been on Vacation for the last 3 weeks but I head back to work tomorrow.

I'll throw down a 10k CON bounty to whoever can find and fix the bug that is causing the display issue in the Bluish-White Theme between version 1.0.6 and 1.0.7
