Bitcoin is not dead and will not die any time soon, the future of bitcoin is very bright let us not allowed the recent fall in price to blind our sense of judgment. Bitcoin has proved that it here to stay, the question you should ask is how much was bitcoin as at this time last year and how much is bitcoin now.
With the progress or development that we are seeing now, bitcoin is going up and it will not be dead.
However, no one is certain on the future so there's still a chance that bitcoin might dump and eventually lose the support of the people, so
that is one thing to consider. As an investor we have to know the possibilities but we should be positive with the progress.

Where do you hear these fallacies from man. Bitcoin isn't dead. If you have been observing the historical data, there's usually a dip when the festive season comes in, please start selling these coins to buy stuff. Bitcoin adoption hasn't halted, it's ongoing. The price just corrected, it was long overdue. Bitcoin takes a slight dip you think its dead. FUD mongers would love this.
The only bitcoins I ever got were a few back when you could mine profitably with GPUs, and a few more in exchange for services. Never bought any with real money and don't plan to. What I am interested in is if anyone serious still sees a future in bitcoin, and if so, what they're reasons might be. That's why I started this thread.

I think it's a reflection of human psychology in general. People go insane for enormous rises. They fall into despair at the falls. When you throw in the suspicion that many involved in BTC have never been involved in markets before that makes for a very emotional cocktail.

Exactly. Bitcoin is decentralized and will continue to grow over time as more people join it. Before you know it, Bitcoin would've become strong enough to become resistant against any attack no matter if it comes from the government or any other external entity. The world is beginning to know about the huge potential Bitcoin brings in democratizing the economy regardless of any political interference, government, or central authority.

With its deflationary design, I believe that there will always be a demand for Bitcoin making it survive for many years to come. Even if prices were to decline due to mainstream media or government events, Bitcoin is still the strongest cryptocurrency in existence and will not become dead anytime soon. It is only a matter of time before the pioneer cryptocurrency scales enough to handle all the world's transactions and become the ultimate monetary system in existence. Just my thoughts Wink

My answer is always No. Bitcoin is a digital currency. Now bitcoin price getting low that means not bitcoin will dead. It is simple. Price can up and down. Bitcoin demand is decreasing among people because some government ban bitcoin in their country. I think as soon as bitcoin solve this problem and price will hit a huge amount again.

Clearly no. This is a small dip happened like before in btc history. Btc or another cryptocurrency never rise rapidly without any dip. Soo you have to be patience. Patience is the real key to success in cryptocurrency

Agree. Prices won't reflect Bitcoin's death anytime soon. What really determines Bitcoin's death is if lacks a strong network. As far as I know, Bitcoin has a lot of nodes and miner hashrate in existence. So, despite the FUD coming from mainstream media, Bitcoin is not dead and will survive for many years to come.

Of course, we cannot ignore Bitcoin's decline in terms of USD value since it presents a huge opportunity to grab a stake of coins at a cheaper price to profit in the future. With the upcoming improvements for Bitcoin, and more decentralized exchanges appearing in crypto land, there will be an uptick in price soon. Even if governments from around the world start to make a crackdown on cryptocurrrency exchanges (centralized ones), Bitcoin will still survive and perhaps become traded in other ways. People from countries that have decided to ban cryptocurrencies (like China) will eventually trade fiat to Bitcoin in a peer-to-peer fashion without using any exchange. Person to person transactions would be the solution for this, and Bitcoin will become stronger as time passes by.

Nevertheless, while some altcoins may become dead soon (due to lack of development, and support) Bitcoin will remain in crypto land for the long term. It'll be hard to take down Bitcoin given the strong network support it has. Just my thoughts Grin

Bitcoin is taking some rest from the rally last year and itis normal to see the crash, if you've been here in cryptoworld then you shouldn't be worried about it. Everything will go back into place when the market is stable and the all the fud will run out.

Of course no, Bitcoin cannot die for like decades.
According to prediction this fall was normal and was expected.
I think it is foolish to think that bitcoin is dead because of this many people are panicking and selling their coins which is useless. I think this situation is good for buying bitcoin and holding them , we know that the price will rise so just wait for the right time.

I think it is.

Bitcoin use adoption has stalled. Media interest has dissipated. Prices have only slowly continued to decline for a long time now. Bitcoin securities have always been and still are a complete mess, with a near 100% failure (scam/fraud/incompetence/etc) rate. Mining has been concentrated in the hands of a few giant players, eliminating much of the advantage/security/democracy of thousands of individuals being the money processors. Alternative forms of online payment with US dollars (and other fiat currencies) are now cheaper, faster, and more secure than bitcoin (and of course far more usable to buy/sell real goods/services), eliminating any of its advantages as a payment system. Continued decline of bitcoin and strength in fiat currencies has put the lie to the idea of bitcoin as a store of value; there are far better more reliable hedges against inflation. Meanwhile the real economy is firing on all cylinders, stock markets are at all time highs, corporate earnings are higher than ever, unemployment is low, etc. Even amid the boom, no one cares about bitcoin any more. Bitcoin was a fad that lasted a few years, and is now on its way to being forgotten.

Thoughts? Anyone seriously disagree with this conclusion?

Of course not, bitcoin will never die This is all purely in motion by buyers and enthusiasts who are all over the country, so bitcoin I conclude will never die forever will not be.

Decentralization is indeed a lot of surprises and we have to get used to it.
What happened with the year 2017 from the beginning of the year $ 900 then the end of the year could reach $ 19200 is amazing, and this year from $ 15,000 now reaches $ 9000 is the usual thing because all will go back to $ 15,000 even more.

No it won't. It is a long way for Bitcoin to reach 20,000$ at the end of last year. However, that's normal, Bitcoin is chosen to be the best cryptocurrency nowadays. That's why Bitcoin's price dropped down to balance with the others coin. It will increase again no matter what. Bitcoin has achieved many great thing and save many people's life.

Bitcoin has been considered dead 7 times before in its short history, and this is its 8th serious dip. But every time it came up even stronger. So my answer is a straight NO. Keep on holding to it and hope for the best. Good Luck !!

At this point we can't say, it so early to say that. We're beginning to grow, even we're down in a few months but at this time we grow. Higher and higher to become stronger. Go bitcoiners!!!
