Canary is good source for hints.
Today he wrote something about new 45p hubs made by friedcat !!!
Cat is not sleeping it seems.
Found it "Friedcat is testing a 49 port hub to become available "soon" (don't know what soon means Smiley ) for running USB sticks. From what I know so far, it will be high quality, and you'll be able to power it using an ATX PSU. Obviously price will be much better than alot of current options out there currently. Hope he makes enough of them. My understanding is that it will be geared towards those who will be looking to run 45+ USB setups." https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303640.0So I have some of these 49 port hubs in hand. They look nice - but unfortunately.. I don't know how to use them. I tried with 2 different brand power supplies, and I tried on a raspberry pi, as well as straight to a pc. The PC didn't seem to recognize it, and although I haven't really looked into any settings on the pi.. cgminer usually just detects hubs plugged into it. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? (while I wait for a reply from friedcat). Edit: Ok.. what I was doing wrong was not looking at the very bottom of the shipping box. There are fuses that need to be plugged into each hub

simply repeating what i picked up with the time on the forum, so no guarantee here. (just trying to help ) Anyone know how long it usually takes for friedcat to transfer shares to another address?
from my experience with auctions transfers took usually 3-7 days (i recall reading that friedcat works off requests once a week) Anyone know how I can update my wallet address for ASICMiner direct shares?
i don't know if that's what you mean with update, but if you plan on changing wallet address of your shares writing friedcat pm or mail sounds like the simplest approach. (perhaps a signed message from your current shareholding address is needed for verification) other users have probably more concrete info about these terms...

With 1st gen chips? Not going to work, already a single one is at the limit of the USB spec with a power draw of 500mA.

I don't get this. Ok, I see that AM has to move into another market due to the competition of the other ASIC-producers. But USB hubs and immersion cooling? These are "regular" hardware, that means, you already have all the competition waiting for you! Even worse, the profit margins are already reduced the bare minimum and you are basically competing for efficiency in production. I don't see this as a viable future for AM as a company. Don't get me wrong, I think that getting out of the ASIC market is a very good idea, especially if you didn't score the knowhow/production capabilities as Cointerra has. Simply said, the time of doing 65nm ASICs on deprecated Chinese production lines is coming to an end. Hence, I think the only option for AM is to stick to Bitcoin-centered projects that do not suffer from the drawbacks outlined above. This will be most likely infrastructure providing services, for example hosting or some software-based service as a market. Maybe even consultancy, who knows?

AM should definitely focus mainly on next generation chips, it seems to me that friedcat overslept on this one. We all make mistakes, but this one will probably cost us dearly... Immersion cooling and big USB hubs are cool, but it's not a primary target now. Anyway where is the 500 Thash?

Hopefully the new blockchain based exchange turns out better than their last in-house exchange project.

Quick Update
Payment system out of pre-alpha. Blockchain-based exchange out of pre-alpha (whether to migrate whole ASICMiner database is still a serious debating topic).
iam surprised there wasnt more excitement from these 2 updates a HK based stock(?) exchange by a trusted company could be huge, and potentially be a nice income area now that btct is gone and bitfunder looks to exclude the us. Payment system: are we are talking a chinese bitpay? huge potential

Payment system: are we are talking a chinese bitpay? huge potential I agree, the potential is massive. I have to say that I didn't read the pre-alpha part. That means that they are close to do a release (maybe private first) - so it's much more than toying around with ideas. After the demise of btct, I think there's a need for an exchange that is transparent and not in the US.

Wow...over at the hardware / GB forum, the prices of AM hardware has dropped like crazy. It seems the resellers are going after selling out the remaining stock at cost. 0.035 for USB miner and 1.1 for the blades... that's ~ 0.11/GHz for something that you can get in-hand in 1-2 days!
