So, in logic, we will know the result of tape out in March , as well as the sample chips. But the mass delivery will be in May only if everything is fine.

when the tapeout date was still 'early february', friedcat said the march date was still valid. If tapeout really has occurred by now, I'd guesstimate a first batch of mass delivery by mid April. Given their time projections are realistic. If they decide to put 1 PH/s in their immersion cooling center, they'd also have 10% of the network while still having chips left to sell. But that is pure speculation from my side given the numbers friedcat gave us.

10% with 1PH? wake up ...

Network speed is 27 PH now. 1/27 is = 3.7% now ... much more lower in April, IF Friedcat is able to deliver something at all ... we'll need much more internal hashrate and new datacenter(s) , if we want again achieve at least 10% of the network
not...going . . . to. . . happen

*sigh* Maybe to distract us from the current Bitcoin bear market, we should talk about the upcoming gen3 tapeout announcement... that should be any day now right?

Before March, I'd guess. Tapeout should have taken place by now so they'll need a few days to receive sample chips, confirm/adjust the official specifications and we'll get an announcement.

Hmm... didn't know it was possible to get sample chips a few days after tapeout.

AFAIK they're producing maybe a wafer to verify everything's fine before producing the actual 100 (which then takes a month)

Yeah but those initial sample wafers will be about a month or two after tape out, not a day or two. Tape out is just the completion of the design. Turning that design into wafers takes weeks.

re: TAT's AM asset to Havelock.
----
I worry that there ALWAYS was a connection between the two, that insider trading might have happened and that this is currently happening to prevent any future connection link (so that investigations cannot link to him directly? so that he can work directly with ASICMiner as PR?)
Why else would you drop the one asset that made you anything? It doesn't make sense to me.

discl: I urge folks to not use Havelock and always have, and do not trust TAT either. If you have to buy/sell shares, buy direct.

Just a warning - I've just had my havelock account hacked and all my AM1 shares stolen, and money withdrawn from account.

I had both 2FA enabled, and login from my own country, Thailand. The thief managed to bypass both of those somehow.

Sorry to rehash this topic here in this thread, but I saw this write-up today that might offer some explanation?

https://www.imperialviolet.org/2014/02/22/applebug.html

Article says current OSX Mavericks 10.9.1 is vulnerable with no fix in sight.

Could this explain how some clever individual (who isn't your gf or dog) with a privileged network position in Thailand managed to swipe your Havelock password, 2FA, and btc?

sweet. that's a serious man in the middle bug.

There is some protection against it, which e.g. is buying a VPN connection (which removes some of the man in the middle attack vectors). But it shows that even a perceived secure system can be flawed, which highlights the importance of non-computational security measures (i.e procedural security).

Damn, I just had a dream that i got notification alert from friedcat, that he wrote something on forum. I was very excited and it was :

"over, ..." something about tape out failed, going out of business ... and share prices dump to zero... damn ! it was fucked up feeling Undecided

Anyway ... i hope ... we should be after tapeout now and we should get update from him or board this week(before March) iirc.
