1  Other / Meta / Re: Make bitcointalk.org great again: Add a gaming board, already! on: July 08, 2024, 01:21:57 AM
Video games aren't interested to advertise on this forum and that's why there's no board dedicated to video games. It's possible to have a separate board for video games that accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as payment system but the audience to that board isn't much wide on this forum.

Here most of us refer to online gambling as gaming and there's a dedicated sub-board to online gambling on this forum with its own child boards where topics related to gambling are present and most of us are active as part of that board.
If the videogames have crypto in them, it's most likely in altcoin so I think that in a way, we do already have a board for Gaming which is the Altcoin Discussion, I don't think that we should even add that because in my opinion, gaming is such a big word that I don't think it will fit in just one board, gaming already have a lot of dedicated forums so why stay here when there's some website out there that's passionately talking about gaming only.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Inquiry regarding the banning of account trades of certain services. on: June 22, 2024, 04:16:08 AM
Even if those accounts that sell those accounts exists, there's still no guarantee that they're going to get a customer because most of the time, there's bound to be some people that's going to be scamming and that's definitely going to happen with these types of services. Hopefully it will get some action against those services though, it's probably really stupid of someone to fall for this kind of thing when you know already that there have been warnings about shady deals.

5  Other / Meta / Re: Offensive names in the Forum on: June 16, 2024, 05:52:09 AM
How come Hitler is an offensive name while it’s a surname of some German people. Adolf Hitler is not the only person who use this surname and also it’s not an offensive name imho unless some name for example “holocaust is good” or some sort that directly make fun of the tragedy.

Also this forum is an anonymous forum which means anyone can choose their name even with name “ littledicky” is allowed  Cheesy

Don’t use public forum if you are easy to be offended or else you are entering voluntarily on living hell since there’s a lot of uncensored words here.  Cheesy
Really? It's a surname of the German people? When was the last time that you've heard of a person that's got that last name? Pretty sure that no one's going to be associating themselves to the Hitler family name if they can you know. @nutildah already stated that it's never been in use for like 75 years and if I recall, the relatives of Hitler have all changed their surnames because they don't want to be associated with Hitler and they did it as a way to atone for the sins in proxy.

12  Economy / Economics / Re: could the FDI in any country be affected by cryptocurrency not being accepted? on: June 13, 2024, 02:11:18 PM
I don't think it will, cryptocurrency as much as it's got a really big market capitalization, there's still not a lot of people that really cares about it especially in countries that's a hotspot for FDIs, they're not going to be affected that much so hopefully. If it's in a country that's got a really active and big cryptocurrency community, there's a possibility that FDIs might have to give in and try to comply with the need of that country to accept cryptocurrency but so far, that's far from happening anytime soon.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: The choice of investment is dependent on your region of residency. on: June 09, 2024, 10:59:25 AM
Really good piece of advice and it stands true atleast in my country as it really depends because I stay in a region where if you invest into real estate you will surely get profits in couple of earning but the region which falls with 50 miles from my place there has been no appreciation in the value of real estate for decades, similarly it stands true for every single business as that's why analysis of region is very important and play a major role.
Totally agree, if the price of real estate is really high in your region, you don't really go for it no matter because by the time that you're saving up to buy an investment in properties, the price has gone up so yes, definitely dependent on the region. Totally agree on that part about business analysis, you can't really invest in something that would be really bad in that region, I mean selling shoes in a region that hates shoes for religious reasons is basically how I would sum this one up.
14  Other / Meta / Re: Let's make bitcointalk great again. on: June 09, 2024, 09:03:33 AM
The key is money.

I heard that in 2017-2018 was the best years since many people can earn a lot money with minimal effort, they only need to tweet, re-post, translating using google translator, spamming 1-2 liner(s) in this forum etc.

After most bounties turns scam, most people leave the forum, many users shift to signature campaigns and the forum still renting the ads banner.

Theymos decide to stop the ads banner, now starting this year the forum ban mixer promotions which make the traffic going down.

How to make Bitcointalk become popular again? enlarge and expand the incentives.
That solution can work but I have reservations about it, I feel like if the incentive to join is only about money, I'd say that it will also attract people that doesn't have anything to contribute here. Plus, there's nothing that can be done in terms of increasing the incentives because the forum isn't that renowned around the Internet so it's really difficult to justify the money that's pumped on signature campaigns, we're already lucky to still have some signature campaigns here advertising here, it's not a matter of incentives to joining I think, this is just my opinion but I think that what we need is more visibility of the forum to the surface of the Internet, it's not enough that we're at the top search when searching for "Bitcoin Forum", we need to put in some ads on other websites, I think that's what we lack here but I'm not trying to say that's the only solution, maybe there are some and maybe this solution that I'm getting isn't even good with the staff and administrator.
15  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Binance on: June 09, 2024, 07:45:34 AM

This means that CZ is a businessman and SBF is a clown who performed the manipulators' tasks. No wonder he's the only one in jail.
The other members of his team have either very short sentences or no charges against them.
Thanks for the oversimplification, that's exactly what I mean. I mean a dude that doesn't look like the kind that can build a business without their computer skills compare that to a man that dresses like they're always ready for any job interview isn't really a good match up because we already know who wins. Maybe if there's a redemption part for SBF in the near future but hopefully when he does, he will never forget to build a really strong connection to people that can help him get out of the jail in case he wants to do more stupid things.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins do you own or have you collected until now? on: June 09, 2024, 06:14:05 AM
To answer your question in the title and to reiterate and prove what @mk4 just said, I don't have enough bitcoin and I don't think that with the current price of it, I will never have enough because I will be continuously gathering as much bitcoin as I can and it will never reach that coveted one unless I make a lot of money in my other stuff that I work on. This conversations that are so casually talking about hundreds of bitcoin is such a nostalgia and regret to me, I've known about bitcoin and I would've invested in it but I wasn't that interested enough to really try it out and at the end of the day, I can't really blame myself though, I was still in the last leg of elementary education so the money isn't really there anyway.

If you have bought time to read some post above mate you will see what OP says about your smelling here as I will
be happy sharing what OP says here

No, I'm not doing anything wrong or illegal. I simply don't trust that my government, the same one inflating my dollar, has my best interests at heart. I don't want any government telling me how, when, and where to spend my money or currency. If I want to buy a 'Snickers' bar or a loaf of bread, or a gallon of gas, then that's MY business, not the government's. I don't trust banks either now that they are closing accounts based on adherence to their corporate ideology.

You don't have to answer my question, but I am a firm supporter of Bitcoin and understand what it affords me. I will navigate these bitcoin softwares as best I can. Good day.

so Maybe its enough to understand what he really meant asking this here though it may be helpful if we extend our
advise and helps for op.
If what OP says is true then technically I'm right, he doesn't want to pay taxes on his bitcoins because he hates them, you just pointed out what I'm trying to say there, thank you. Yes, I might be wrong that OP isn't doing anything illegal but my point still stands, OP doesn't want the bitcoin donations that they're getting to be taxed, I mean I too wouldn't want the government to benefit in my work when I know that it's not going to go anywhere but the pocket of officials, but still even if the cause isn't wrong or that you share the sentiments with it, the law will not, in the eyes of the law, if you help that person evade their taxes then that means you're an accomplice to the crime.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ? on: June 09, 2024, 03:17:43 AM
It's not, it's a dangerous and risky thing to do because greed and betrayal can get in the way of this arrangement and at the end of the day, it's possible that your friend might hit the right trade and then disappear in your life because they don't to share with you what they've got, that's a real possibility, if you really want others to trade for you, it would be in your best interest to be investing in an index funds, that way there's a fund manager that's trading for you and it's much safer because it's their duty to do their best and at the same time not to mess with your money or run away with it because they'll get a criminal case easily unlike with your friend, it's informal and they can just lie to their teeth that you didn't give them anything and that it's their money all along. If you value your friendship with that person, you'd be wise to choose not to do this kind of thing.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Receiving bitcoin donations through my website on: June 09, 2024, 02:37:06 AM
I'm smelling someone here trying to use a charity as a way to evade taxes, I mean why are so you uppity about the segregation of your coins when if you're a real donation platform, it wouldn't really matter because the money or the proceeds will probably go with the projects that you're planning to materialize right? As @Vod has said, no one's going to help you out in this situation because the extension of who's at fault will go to the person that helped you do it. Probably for the best too that this is the thing that many decided to do.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Internet don't forget, many times Donald Trump says bad about Bitcoin on: June 09, 2024, 01:54:23 AM
Anyone dumb enough to support Trump is dumb enough to believe he knows anything about and cares anything about Bitcoin and crypto. Dude is the biggest conman liar idiot criminal in American political history. Trying to convince crypto users to vote for him is just his latest grift.

Trump is the biggest sh*tcoin of a human being American politics has ever seen. That convinced felon is rugpull from start to finish.
Someone's finally saying something about Trump that does make sense, it's such a weird times that it's always the people that don't have anything good to do that are always trying to go out of their way to ask for our votes, basically the latest US elections is split between this two airheads that really don't care about USA and all that they ever want is to leave a legacy that's going to be talked about through the years, it don't matter whether it's a good or bad legacy, what really matters to these politicians is that they can protect themselves the most. This is arguably the darkest time in the US history so I'm pretty sure that no matter who wins the election, the American people will be the one that's going to get the effects of this problem.
