Bangladesh have managed to win the second T20 against West Indies. Bangladesh managed to score 171 in their allotted 20 overs, which is a par score in T20s. West Indies managed to play well initially, and there was some big hitting in the middle. But they lost their way to spinners and finally lost the match by 12 runs.
102  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-04] NYSE Owner: Bitcoin Should Be in Retirement Funds, Credit Cards, Re on: August 05, 2018, 07:27:23 AM
Intercontinental Exchange, owner of arguably the most important stock exchange in the world, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), is introducing a new company, Bakkt. The idea is to weave bitcoin into 401(k)s, credit cards, and retail. The project is getting a lot of hype due in large measure to two very powerful backers: Microsoft and Starbucks. Is this the mainstreaming ecosystem enthusiasts have been urging?

The idea of weaving Bitcoin into 401Ks and pension funds is a good idea, if it is done in moderation and you believe in the long0term potential of Bitcoin. I don't see how his idea of Bitcoin Apps replacing credit cards will work. True, credit cards have large fees, but they perform one important function - provide credit. That can't be replicated by Bitcoin apps without charging for it.
103  Other / Archival / Re: EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCY on: August 04, 2018, 09:23:49 PM
The difficulty in educating people about cryptocurrency is that you first have to make people unlearn things. There are a lot of misconceptions about cryptocurrencies and some of this is pretty ingrained into people. I would blame the mainstream media, which parrots the propaganda of banks and governments about Bitcoin. That is why educating people is very difficult.
104  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Report: India showing signs it may legalize cryptocurrency payments on: August 04, 2018, 09:03:35 PM
According to a legal report released in July 2018, the country’s lawmakers are considering legalizing the multi-million dollar sports betting industry – naming cryptocurrencies as a legally acceptable payment method akin to credit and debit cards.

You should rely on mainstream media articles to find out the true state of cryptocurrencies in India. It is true that government panels are considering legitimizing the crypto sector. But it is a fact that it is crippled today, with no banking links. And legitimizing gambling is a totally different question - it will be tough for any government to back such a move.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: August 04, 2018, 08:57:01 PM
I am a Hodler, I have waited for straight 8 difficult months to see the bulls return, we were having some semblance to a boom in the last 2 weeks, now market cap is struggling with 250 Billion $. How long are we going to wait?

I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for a few years. Only those who have been through the bear market in 2013 will know from the bottom of their hearts that a rebound can take time. I wouldn't call you a holder because you have kept your bitcoins for 8 months. You need to be a lot more patient. You have seen nothing so far.

team received 110k Gbyte, can we expect transparency? What is the address? How much was sold, at what price?

Reserving ~110,433 GB for the Foundation still leaves about 22% of the total supply on the table. To make sure that we won’t sit back and enjoy our monthly dose of GBYTE turned into USD or EUR we also want to reserve 50% of the total 36 month payroll budget for a long term Motivation Plan for team members and advisors.

This is an interesting article, but has the plan been finalized. I am unable to see whether this is a proposal or is the new plan to make use of the undistributed funds. In any case, those who have invested in Byteball have burnt their fingers badly. Hope something turns in their favour in the future.

First kohli played well and scored 145when India needed him to bat and Australia lost their first wickets very soon for 9 runs . their is much turn in pitch but I think their will be pitch different in 4th and 5th day if Australian make above 300 runs they have chances of winning this test match

Australia? Oh boy, what have you been smoking lately? Roll Eyes India is playing against England, not Australia.

As I predicted, Virat Kohli played very well and got India out of the mess. The match is now getting quite interesting. England should give a target of at least 300 runs else they'll lose.

You seem to have quite a bit of faith in the Indian batting. India really collapsed today and if it weren't for Kohli's brilliant knock, England would be pushing for victory now. I see even 200 runs as a tricky target, especially when India are playing last. The fourth innings results in tricks being played on everybody.

Kohli may be a great batsman, but you cannot expect him to win matches for India every time. India managed to make a mess of this one and collapsed in both innings, leading to England's victory. England dropped catches, but India could not make full use of it. In the end, the better team won.
108  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-01] At What Level Do Institutional Buyers Join The Bitcoin Rally? on: August 03, 2018, 05:29:59 AM
The price does not really matter - Institutional investors will have exposure to equity no matter what the price level is. They will just wait out the bear market, especially investors with a long-term view.
What matters is the state of the cryptomarket. Right now, it is an unregulated, risky asset class.

110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gallup Poll Shows Only 2% of US Investors Own Bitcoin, But 26% Are ‘Intrigued' on: July 29, 2018, 03:14:20 PM
If you think that 2% of US investors owning BItcoin presents an opportunity, try asking the same question in India or China. The percentage there will be in decimal points. And these countries have much bigger populations and would be the drivers of growth going forward. Convincing these people to put their hard earned money into Bitcoin won't be easy though.

Byteball has been featured in one of the largest and most influential Spanish media channels! La Vanguardia explains why the alliance between #crypto and #eSports is a smart move:

https://t.co/dkC6sOumge

Is this a media report or a sponsored article? The rectangle on the right saying Byteball Bytes everywhere seems to be an advertisement to me.
It doesn't really matter - publicity is good, but we should be clear if it is a sponsored article.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mike Novograts to CNBC: ‘I Think Bitcoin’s Price has Bottomed’ on: July 29, 2018, 10:42:53 AM
We can't be sure that bitcoin has bottomed already, because what is against new cycles of drops and ups with a light upward tendency? Even Novogratz said in the interview that he is not sure about it. And he still thinks we need a year for full recovery.

It may or may not have bottomed. It doesn't matter if you don't sell - you are only sitting on paper losses.
It might take a year for full recovery. It might take two. But as long as you have the confidence and sit tight, you should make lots of money.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin popularity will increase, when no Gold is found in Fort Knox. on: July 29, 2018, 10:09:57 AM
I am very curious on why the American public has not insisted that a full audit must be done on the actual Gold that are stored in Fort Knox and other secure places in America. They blindly accept that there are lots of Gold stored in the vaults in Fort Knox and all over America. The government has no right to withhold that information, but the public is not demanding it.

Why?

1. They know that if this is true, their economy will PROBABLY collapse?
2. They are scared of their government?
3. They are just ignorant?
4. They simply do not care about this?

Why would the government go to that much trouble to hide this information from the public, if they had nothing to hide?

What do you think will happen, once the truth about this is revealed and how will this impact Bitcoin?

The point is, we might never see a full audit of Fort Knox and other secure sites. So this question might never be answered.
Plus, since the gold standard was abandoned decades ago,it might not really make a difference. After all, the only thing backing up the dollar now is the faith of the US government.

any news about to resume the Byte distribution for WCG?

If the distribution continue in dollar terms and unlimited bytes per day, there is a potential for further price erosion because there is no cap on bytes distribution.
However if the distribution is cap in bytes per day, the distribution will become profitable overtime organically.

This new model of distribution bytes in dollars terms without cap is hurting the price in top of the lack of liquidity because of lack of exchanges.

If the byteball price continue south you ends up distributing more bytes, and if the bytes distributed hit the market the price will depreciate even more, then the next day the distribution of byte will be more, and so on...

I am not against airdrop, or any distribution method. But the amount of bytes distributed per day and years should be a fix number.
Potentially or theoretically all remaining bytes can be distributed in one day if the price of on Gbyte is 0.1 dollar.

The distribution algorithm can be changed at any point. Right at the beginning, it was stated clearly if that there is any "industrialization" of WCG contributions, then the Byteball distribution algorithm would be relooked at.
The lack of exchanges where Byteball is listed is definitely a problem. We should look towards addressing that.

The 1st ODI between Sri Lanka and South Africa is under way. Sri Lanka dominated the test matches - winning the toss, batting first and then subjecting South Africa to its spin attack. The ODI series should be more balanced. Sri Lanka are struggling and have been reduced to 35/4 after 8 overs. They will have to bat well to recover.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 28, 2018, 08:46:51 PM
West Indies defeated Bangladesh by just 3 runs at the very end of the match when the victory of Bengalis was looking obvious. Awesome finishing by West Indies bowlers, they restricted the boundaries and didn't let middle order batsmen of Bangladesh hit fours and sixes.

If I am not wrong, during the past two years, there were 2-3 instances in which Bangladesh snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. They need to work on this, if they want to be considered as strong opponents by their rivals.

The second ODI in the series was really close and Bangladesh were unlucky to lose that one. In the 3rd ODI, Bangladesh have played very well to score over 300 runs. West Indies have played well and have wickets in hand and are 211/4 at the end of 42 overs. The required rate has climbed up and it is unlikely that West Indies will win this one.

The update is approved by Apple and available from the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/byteball/id1147137332?ls=1&mt=8

The partnership with Apple and app in itunes are very great news for Byteball community, @tonych.
Thanks both you and Byteball team for the amazing works.
"Partnership" lol...  Huh

Ha ha.... A lot depends on how you choose your words and how you market news, but this was taking it a bit too far.
Byteball has a lot going for it, you really don't need to embellish any facts to market it.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 10k$ at this time? on: July 28, 2018, 07:47:26 PM
Only if BTC crosses the next resistance at $8800. Volume is diminishing since BTC crosses $8k. But still sellers aren't able to overpower the buyers because of ETF speculations. ETF launch is a perfect pumping news for BTC and altcoins usually follow it. But if ETF gets disapproved, be ready to see a serious dump. But I think it might only get postpone instead of disapproval.

The ETF speculation is over, at least for now. But this time, the market didn't really crash with the ETF getting rejected. There has been too much hype with the ETF, but we are at a really low level. For the markets to really crash, I think the only possibility is some really bad news. Unfortunately, there seem to be no positive triggers as well.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: INDIA KEEPS BAN IN PLACE,ANY THOUGHTS? on: July 28, 2018, 07:29:43 PM
Government polices varies with the change of government. India has banned for some years, but with in next year near elections government may permit. Indian stake holders are trying their level best to remove ban on bitcoin. Due to crouption they banned.

India has not banned Bitcoin for years. In fact, Bitcoin is not even banned right now. It is only Bitcoin exchanges which have had their banking links cut. If Bitcoin is really banned, then possessing it or transacting in it could be a crime. Right now, none of all that is true. The community support for Bitcoin in India is very small.
120  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-25] India’s Supreme Court Postpones Verdict on Cryptocurrency Ban Again on: July 28, 2018, 04:18:10 PM
I think it's not so hard to predict what final verdict of the Supreme Court will be. I mean, no way they are going to enforce the stupid decision of the Reserve Bank of India. Because? Right, because "cryptocurrency brings a lot of investment and jobs to India" as the article is saying. And exactly that's why the final hearing was postponed, forces opposed to crypto are not feeling comfortable with what is going to happen and they are doing everything they can  to incline the Supreme Court to make decision in their favor. But they will fail because they belong to the past, while crypto enthusiasts belong to the future.

The Supreme Court will accept the opinion of the RBI in my opinion. The RBI are, after all, the experts in finance. And they haven't banned Bitcoin, they have just asked banks (whom they regulate) to stay away from Bitcoin exchanges.
The Supreme Court will just consider this a vice and move on.
