1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 28, 2017, 04:35:00 PM
Man City vs Man Utd - Man City to win this & I really hope they do. As a Liverpool fan I am worried about Man Utd taking our place in the top 4 so I will be cheering on Man City tonight.

lol if manchester city win, they will take the position of liverpool, better this results is the draw, so liverpool remain in the third position.

my prediction 1-1

Well because the final result 0-0 then all the teams are still in their respective positions, of course liverpool lucky in this match they are still ranked 3rd
Next Arsenal get ready to replace liverpool because they still have 6 matches while liverpool only 4 matches this season.

What was disappointing was not the 0-0 result, but the unexciting proceedings. Both teams played an attritional game and managed to match each other. United had lower possession and seemed on the backfoot most of the time.
1102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitfinex Price Spreads & Bitcoin Bubble on: April 27, 2017, 03:37:53 PM
There could be problems at Bitfinex, but the price at other exchanges is healthy as well. So the positivity is not restricted to Bitfinex alone. The current price seems to have widespread support.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 27, 2017, 03:35:44 PM
Derby manchester will play this day even though im a fans of manchester united but i think manchester city will win this match because in my eyes hard to expec manchester united could finish on top 4th.

I beg to differ , Manchester United has been consistent for a while now and even though I expect a tough match against city I still believe United will triumph because the fans are thirsty for champions league and hopefully they'd feature in it next season.

The 2 teams are very close on the League table - just a point separates them. Manchester City has a better head to head record in Premier League matches. I would bet on City winning a close match 1-0.
1104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Digital Currencies Classical Highs on: April 27, 2017, 03:29:28 PM
An investment 12 months ago would definitely return 2.7 times one’s investment
If we compare this with what we can earn with fixed deposit in banks over year, we can clearly see an advantage of holding crypto/bitcoin over fiat.

That's why i am putting whatever cash i have into bitcoin for long term holding, why to help your local banks to make profit with your hard earned money.
As I remember around this time last, the price even touched the $400 level at some point, and if I only held what I bought at those levels, I would have made a lot of profits, tons of it. But then I sold too early, and never really had additional funds to buy some significant amount when the price stayed at the mid $600 range.

That is a risk we all take. It might make sense to hold for a long time, but eventually we have to spend our bitcoins.
Spending it over a period of time decreases the risk of missing out on any large upsurge.
1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: April 27, 2017, 03:27:00 PM
People have different reasons why they dont like bitcoins , Like me when I was a newbie before I hate bitcoin in an instant because the one who is guiding me introduce HYIP first and I hate it because I was scammed thats why I stop using it. But I came back and continue using bitcoin. But now I dont care to them anymore because I learn how to use bitcoin by my own self.

You do have to care about them, because Bitcoin's success depends on how widely adopted it becomes. Like you, there might be others who need just a little push to become converts.
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Zcash Worth Over $5000? on: April 27, 2017, 02:57:19 PM
But are you serious you all ? How could a ZCash be worth 500$ and do not even talk about 5000$ ? Its sole feature is a something that is branded as anonymous but it does not even work and require the developpers. Beside that, they have an outrageous developper tax on each block created. Its current price is very representative of its real value.

People didn't think Bitcoin would zoom to $1000+, did they?
If the developer tax is what spooks you, then you should look at ZCL (ZClassic). If others think on lines similar to you, ZCL could replace ZCash.
1107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin value going down on news of SegWit? on: April 27, 2017, 02:54:34 PM
Is there a reason that Litecoin has been on a steady decline the last few days? I was thinking it would go up on news of segwit being locked in.

People would have been speculating on this for a long time. Those speculators would be booking profits now.
Unless there is further positive news, there is little upside.
1108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Unlimited adoption at new record high. on: April 25, 2017, 11:58:41 PM
Almost 42% and rising.
Suuuuure that fork is never going to happen. Lol.

The price doesn't reflect that. We are flirting with all time highs now.
This wouldn't be the case if a fork was imminent and we had all the associated doomsday scenarios.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 25, 2017, 11:56:35 PM
Chelsea won this match 4-2. They now have a 7 point lead over Tottenham.
Chelsea had a lead of 2-1 at half time and Diego Costa's two goals in the second half just nailed the game.
1110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season! on: April 25, 2017, 11:50:42 PM
What will happen, when the altcoin season is over?
I have seen many coins that are up in price x20 x50 x100
Like pivx, decred, stratis and many more. Will they dump again?

And when will this altseason take end?

I am pretty sure there will indeed be a dump. Maybe leading alts like ETH, Dash or Monero won't be hit hard. But all the penny cryptos which have zoomed up in value, are going to crash to the bottom.
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fundamental Analysis Coins on: April 25, 2017, 11:48:56 PM
Hi people,

I am pretty excited about the cryptocurrency market and want to start investing long term. The best way to do this in my opinion is to do it the Warren Buffet way and do some heavy fundamental analysis. However, I am pretty new to all of this, so I was wondering if some of you could help me with this with some sources. What should I watch especially, where can I learn about this? What are the basics I should know? What are the main technologies right now (like masternodes) and where can I find all this (internet is not helping me that much)? I love reading and learning so don't be afraid to suggest whole books that can help me. I will be very grateful for all kinds of help!

Thanks a lot in advance! Smiley

I doubt if the cryptospace is amenable to fundamental analysis. There are no dividends or cash flows for you to discount and arrive at a proper valuation.
This market is purely driven by sentiments.
1112  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 BTC = inflation-adjusted $millionaire in 12 years on: April 22, 2017, 04:03:19 PM
In 12 years most of the bitcoin supply will already be mined. 20 million coins mined, the remaining BTC will be the one that goes slowly released through the rest of the 140 year period.

In practice, more than 1 million coins will be lost. This puts the 21 BTC holders in less than 1 million person on the entire planet.

This MUST mean that holders of 21 BTC are at least $millionaires. Otherwise BTC would have been a failure as a store of value (this is irrelevant to the scaling debate).

Not bad. The point is whether Bitcoin won't be a failure (and hence it will be a success).
Even if this does happen, people with 21 BTC should hold it for the next 12 years. Resisting the temptation to sell when you have huge paper profits is tough.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Did you all stock up on your LTC yet?could this be the last call for this train? on: April 22, 2017, 04:01:10 PM
If this mess gets sorted out and we get a little less manipulation then I think we could very easily see 25$ to 50$. I’m glad I stocked up at around 4$ and then again at about 8$.

A little less manipulation? I wouldn't be so sure about the humungous run that Litecoin has had recently.
We are back to historical highs of 0.01 BTC and we seem to be heading higher. Train or crash warning?
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 22, 2017, 03:58:21 PM
Bournemouth are two goals up in 15 minutes and Boro are now down to 10 men due to two yellow cards by Gaston.  GG, ship the money.  Smiley

Edit:  Is it just me or does Bournemouth's pitch look smaller?

Those 2 early goals really shook Middlesbrough. Gaston Ramirez was red carded shortly afterwards and sent off.
Final scoreline of 4-0 and Bournemouth have pushed Middlesbrough deep into the relegation zone.
1115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will get half million dollars prices by 2030 : Blockchain.info CEO on: April 18, 2017, 01:46:24 PM
Then buy these 100BTC at these idiotic and low prices such as $1000-$1200 and forget about crypto after storing them in unused addresses and printing a few paper wallets as back up then go live your life for another 10-15 years and when price reached your goal sell them to have $50M in cash at your disposal, imagine someone with 500K bitcoins could be a billionaire.

If the funds permit, then why not do so. Just do not need all the money to invest in bitcoin in order not to remain at a loss, because no one can accurately predict what awaits us.

Only if you have cash to burn, can you contemplate doing something like this. If Bitcoin is replaced by ETH or some other alt, then the half million dollar price prediction will look very silly. It could pay off, but it is very, very risky.
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how many people here are using tether? on: April 18, 2017, 01:42:33 PM
If you haven't read the TOS at tether.to/legal you need to do so.

Tether specifically disclaims any obligation to redeem Tethers for money.

Most people only use tether at exchanges. They just use it when they want to go short on Bitcoins or book profits.
I doubt if anybody even visits tether.to
1117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DGB and Segwit on the activation path, what will become of it? on: April 18, 2017, 01:39:36 PM
Segwit activation is a keenly watched event in Bitcoin and Litecoin. In other alts, I doubt if activating it would make any difference whatsoever. Only in Bitcoin have we seen transactions pile up and Segwit could give some relief.
1118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 18, 2017, 01:37:43 PM
Arsenal won 2-1 but was a difficult game.

If they couldn't get something from this game, then would be the bottom of the pit for them

Arsenal belabored to a victory over the 19th placed Middlesbrough. Doesn't speak well of a team which aims to finish in the top 4.
The match was pretty dull before a fine freekick gave Arsenal the lead just before half time. While Middlesbrough equalized soon after, Arsenal managed another goal in the second half to win this one.
1119  Economy / Speculation / Re: War is coming on: April 17, 2017, 04:21:39 PM
Trump games will not affect the price of bitcoin, only can slow down its growth a little. In any case, by the end of the year, bitcoin will grow.

Trump's games won't affect; but a full blown war will. We have gotten used to extended times of peace (apart from small localized conflicts). A war will affect all asset classes, including Bitcoin.

Having the mechanics defined, we had to choose which blockchain to use to record everything. We went for Ethereum.

Hmm... Somehow, the decision to go for Ethereum sounds strange to me.
I would have thought coloured coins would have been the best bet for this.
