941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 27, 2017, 02:03:08 AM
Now it is more profitable to buy and keep GB (+ 20%) than to keep bitcoin (0.0625GB). The price is good.

If you are talking about the airdrop, there usually is a dip in the price after the airdrop. It is foolish to assume that the price will be constant and take decisions based on that.
942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the first sign of a scam project (ico) for you? on: July 25, 2017, 04:53:30 PM
I believed we now have plenty of HYIP Monitor sites, Why don't we form a similar concept an ICO Monitor/Analyzer sites? Expert on spotting ICO scammers should lead this ICO Monitor/Analyzer sites Cheesy

HYIP at least have to make a claim about how they generate high returns. People can analyze that and attack that.
With ICOs, even that is not necessary.
943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin to buy in August 2017? on: July 25, 2017, 04:30:01 PM
Please tell me 1 coin to keep an eye or hold in August 2017. Thanks in advance.

Bitcoin Cash would be the obvious answer. Post the hard fork on August 1, there will be a massive rush to dump BCC coins on whichever exchange lists them. After that, we will have to see where the true value of BCC settles.
944  Economy / Speculation / Re: The last squeeze... on: July 25, 2017, 04:27:36 PM
you have already noticed that the Manipulation has begun. the whales have dumped a very large amount of bitcoin in less than 20 minutes. this is never normal in my books.
the first 20 minutes of Bitstamp shows nearly 1000BTC dumped at once.

the last squeeze to get all the impurities aka weak hands out is getting real.

what will this dip be?
please vote

I don't think it will go below $2000. Even with the uncertainty about the August 1 hard fork, the price was hovering around the $2k level.
Now there is no panic, although the price might dip when the whales dump.
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 25, 2017, 04:23:25 PM
at least 2, probably 3, 4 is possible. Grin (it depends how many people link BTC and if distribution changes)

i'm surprised to see fewer BTC linked now than at last snapshot.

a lot of linking will be lost with people moving coins around in anticipation of this bitcoin cash stuff.

People still have a week after August 1 to complete the linking. For anybody who holds substantial amount of bitcoins, it shouldn't be too much of a bother to ensure that this is done.
946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 23, 2017, 06:39:37 PM
Alerts are raised in response to unusual betting patterns, which are not in and of themselves evidence of match-fixing. A number of other factors, such as playing conditions or an injury to one of the players, could account for anomalous betting patterns.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tennis/2017/07/19/three-wimbledon-matches-part-latest-tennis-match-fixing-probe/

So if a crackpot makes a large bet, this triggers an investigation? I am sure quite a bit of betting happens under the radar as well. So trying to analyze betting patterns to identify match fixing is very difficult.
947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: July 23, 2017, 06:34:58 PM
I have received the share from the airdrop today! It wasn't that difficult, so I need some more spams for the next round Tongue

Any usable chrome addon for character counting?

The coin is not even listed anywhere. Why do you want to get it through a signature campaign, masquerading as an air drop?
You would be better off getting bitcoins for a signature campaign.
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the first sign of a scam project (ico) for you? on: July 23, 2017, 06:32:13 PM
For me, the rule is very simple. If the price is lower than 50% of the ICO price, the project is a scam.

The price on listing? Actually, this is not a very good indication. Most ICOs (even scams) get listed at a very good price. But if there is nothing backing the coin, the price is bound to crash eventually.
949  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the final push before the baby Wu comes! lol on: July 23, 2017, 06:27:51 PM
Except that after the fork both chains will likely tank in price to the point it would be cheaper to buy BTC+BCC after rather than BTC before

This is not necessarily true. Supporters of both chains will dump the other coins and so we may witness some price decrease. But whether it might be cheaper to buy BTC + BCC after rather than BTC before, you really cannot say. The fork was good for ETC and ETH

Congratulations to King Roger Federer for winning his 8th wimbledon at 35 years without losing 1 set!
He is the most talented player of all time, he is "Tennis"

Roger Federer's form has really been impressive. He was helped this time by Marin Cilic getting a blister on his left foot.
To achieve what he already has and to win Wimbledon at the age of 35 is really amazing.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2k Wall Crumble on: July 16, 2017, 01:48:00 AM
this is keystand points from both psychological and value people definitely feel uneasy with segwitx2

It wasn't really a wall in the true sense. True, $2000 is a round number and has a lot of psychological value. But, the real support levels are around $1,600. I don't think we will go that low in the current downtrend though.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: July 16, 2017, 01:40:29 AM
the dump was very interesting today. it seems like everyone had their watches set on a couple of hours before the distribution to dump.

what do we think here?
i am waiting for a bottom to pick some additional bytes for HODLing. don't know where the bottom is for now though.

There were 2 dumps - One initially after the snapshot was taken (GB holders hoping to catch in on cheaper byteballs)
And the second one after the distribution took place.
In either case, we should wait for the dust to settle down before we look at the market cap of byteball.

i've decided to wait more. and this wait meant i finally invested all i had on bittrex in litecoin!
i am still watching Byteball though. this coin really interests me and i want to invest in it but as you said i have to wait for the dust to settle and i think it has not yet. i'll probably wait for bitcoin's fate to be determined and price rise to start them invest in it. since bitcoin fall seems to be taking altcoins down with it!

The distribution is both a reason for the price of GB going up and for it to remain constrained. Until the free distribution ends, there will be dumpers. You would be better off waiting for the final round before taking a call on entering.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hands down - who really didn't sell anything? on: July 16, 2017, 01:37:31 AM
I think it is stupid to sell now. You sell low, you lose your profits. Simple as that. Patience and not panicing is everything. Whales love these opportunities to buy now and are happy to sell you back your coins when the market is rising again because then your FOMO kicks in. Many people are stupid again at this point. It is literally free money for everybody who is not entirely stupid.

I also could be wrong of course. My portfolio is down about 60% over the last 2 weeks. But I didn't sell a single coin so far. I even took a small loan to buy some cheap coins which I expect to rise again after the next pump.

Who else didn't sell anything and thinks it will be the right course of action? Please elaborate.

I am holding on too. The fear of missing out is too strong.
I won't book my paper profits and have the capability to hold for the long term. I won't be giving the whales any opportunity.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 16, 2017, 01:17:45 AM
It wasn't a poor final, as many people seem to be suggesting. It was a poor second set. The first set was top class, in terms of quality and intensity. Muguruza maintained (or even slightly raised) her level in the second set, and Venus wasn't able to stay with her (for potentially a variety of reasons).

Also, how predictable, lazy and reductive to use a poor set of tennis as yet another stick to beat the women's game with. It's been a fascinating, exciting, high quality tournament on the women's side and had Venus been able to raise her game, the final would've been incredible but the young'un won the physical and mental battle.

I thought it was a great final to watch as the 1st set had it all and was a great battle to watch a veteran take on an up and coming superstar of the game. Yes the 2nd set was a let down but Muguraza simply dominated Venus who had no answer to the way Muguraza was playing mentally and physically. Can't wait to watch the men's final and I'm hoping Federer can win and make it a record 8th Wimbledon title.

That is true. Williams is a veteran, but we have seen how she dominated Konta in the semi finals. It is just that Garbine Muguruza broke away after winning the first set.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 15, 2017, 03:01:05 AM
I had a look at the transition page to see the amount of bitcoins linked. It has dropped from 949k during the previous round to 819k currently.
Looks like people have moved their bitcoins around quite a bit. Or maybe some have sold out their coins due to the current uncertainty.
956  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Are people moving their coins out of exchanges for 1 Aug 2017? on: July 15, 2017, 02:34:30 AM
Can one of the Bitcoin exchange owners deny or confirm that people are moving their coins out of exchanges in preparation for the 1st of Aug 2017? Will we see bigger price drops because of decreased trade volumes on the exchanges, building up to the 1st of Aug 2017? How are exchanges handling the whole issue to educate it's customers? The uncertainty will cause a lot of confusion and people might make wrong decisions.

I would have hoped to see more educational material and notices from these services to assist their users or are they playing for time to keep people from moving their coins  Huh Huh

I think it is too early for people to actually panic and start moving their coins. We will see a lot more action during the last week of July.
Expect transaction fees and network congestion to increase at that time.
957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICO, still promising? on: July 15, 2017, 02:30:45 AM
I am a person that gains profit from investing in ICOs but now I'm having second thoughts. I know some ICOs are potential scam so I am really picky to where I put my money.
Anyway, considering with what happened to Ethereum price and with the nearing Aigist 1, do you guys think that it will still be profitable to invest on ICOs mostly on ERC20 tokens and those accepting btc payments?

There is an ICO mania out there and so a lot of people made profits. Even blatant scam coins have generated profits for ever. This cannot continue for ever and you don't want to be left holding the parcel when the music stops.
958  Economy / Speculation / Re: just few well know investors and then boom! on: July 15, 2017, 02:26:41 AM
If the price increases too fast, the cattle will sell it fast, and this will break the exchanges which will not have the money to pay for it (except for the one who sold those bitcoins to the billionarie).

The ideal is to increase a hundred dollars per month, with daily fluctuations around two hundred dollars, so that they can hold a little longer.

I think it is lacking a bit of education on how to use bitcoins, on how to make it acceptable. Most merchants wont accept it and that is one of the reasons the noobs will not hold it.

Exchanges don't have to pay money to bitcoin sellers.  Huh
Exchanges just have to find buyers and sellers. No matter which way the price moves, they just match trades and make profits.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 15, 2017, 02:21:53 AM
it is really an issue of being proud that as a die heart fan of Roger Federer. at the age of 35, he is going to play his 11th Wimbledon final and hopefully, he will ba capable of taking this as 7th times Wimbledon title. I think in the tennis arena he is the best with no doubt. we are the generation who can enjoy a couple of legendary players like Nadal, Djokovic, Murrey, and Rodic...
Ikr , what a great year for Tennis fans . First Federer wins AO then Nadal takes French without dropping a set and now Federer looks like winning the Wimbledon title without dropping the set , amazing . I just want to point out that its record 8th title if he wins this time Smiley

Federer managed to win the semi finals in straight sets, but it wasn't that easy. The first 2 sets went into tie breaks and he won the third set 6-4. No matter what the outcome of the finals, it is nice to see Federer and Williams shining even at the fag end of their careers.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: looking for good coins for long term that were not from an ico on: July 14, 2017, 01:52:28 AM
hi guys can you recommend me good coins that were not from an ICO?

i like dash and xmr now.

Byteball is good. You can get some coins through the distribution, if you hold bitcoins.
You can also buy GB from exchanges. It did not have an ICO and has a wonderful distribution model.
