A job is a job, but I doubt if anybody who has gone to great lengths to get a certification and become known as a Bitcoin pro, would like to spend his time preventing money laundering using Bitcoin. Citibank would do well to get its existing AML staff better trained to handle blockchain (and other emerging technologies).

We keep improving Byteball as an investment platform, and today we are launching verification of accredited investors.
Accredited investor attestation bot (which is already in the Bot Store) helps to go through verification and posts an attestation record to the DAG.
Actual verification is outsourced to verifyinvestor.com which already provided this service to a number of ICOs. A licensed attorney checks the submitted documents and confirms the accredited status, then our bot (which is also a witness) posts the attestation record to the DAG. With this record, the issuers can easily see that an investor is accredited, therefore allowed to buy securities.
The price of verification is $79.00 but if you are getting verified for the first time, the cost is reimbursed from the distribution fund if the verification is successful. There is also a $20.00 referral reward, also paid from undistributed funds.
This does seem to be a big step up in terms of convenience. An accredited investor, whose net worth exceeds $1 million, is not going to be bothered about the $79 verification fees or the $20 referral reward. But if this does catch on and investing in ICOs is made simple through the attestation, then this could really give a boost to Byteball.

Bitcoin does have a scaling problem as we had seen during 2017. Transaction backlog may have fallen now, but nobody can deny that blocks were indeed running full for prolonged periods of time last year So it is important that we recognize it and start think about scaling solutions. It doesn't matter whether Visa handles 24KTPS or not - Visa is able to handle its real time transaction requirement; something the Bitcoin blockchain was unable to do.

Chennai has won their match against Rajasthan Royals by 64 runs. Chennai, batting first, scored 204 runs with Watson scoring a century. Once that was done, Rajasthan needed somebody to step to stay competitive. None of the batsmen except Stokes going, resulting in an easy victory for Chennai. The shifting of matches outside Chennai hasn't hurt CSK at all!

This might be part of Twitter's declaration of a ban on all crypto-related ads. Your account is a victim. I blame the ICO scams who have been so very aggressive in promoting in social media. Yet Twitter has failed to ban which what must be banned, https://twitter.com/bitcoinMaybe they support fraud but not real Bitcoiners trying to promote their own services. Haha. Declining to accept advertisements is different from banning user accounts (which may be promoting legitimate businesses. Twitter does not take action against users spreading phishing links and users impersonating famous personalities to spread malicious links. This does seem to be an overreach on the part of Twitter.

I don't believe this & hope it's not true.
Barclays are infamous for closing the accounts of crypto traders for no reason.
I wouldn't trust any exchange they're involved in, or any other bank for that matter.
Let me tell you something - if a bank smells money in any field, they will soon come around to doing business. They may warn you about the dangers of cryptocurrencies but if you are hell bent on dealing with them, there is good money to be made from selling cryptocurrencies to you. Sooner or later, one bank will enter the field and that will set off a stampede.

Kolkatta have defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to go to the top of the IPL tables. Rajasthan could manage only 160 runs in their 20 overs, which is a below par score in T20. Although they started well, Rajasthan couldn't build on their 50+ runs opening partnership. Kolkatta started aggressively and chased down the target with ease.

Not an inherently evil use for blockchain and it could, no doubt, be used for some good, but totally averse to the founding philosophy of Bitcoin.
I doubt if there is any use of blockchain which is inherently evil. I wonder how such projects would fly when measured against the EU’s right to be forgotten. If a past conviction which is linked to my identity on MasterCard’s blockchain, how would they go about cleaning it up?

The logic goes right back to GameKyubi's post - are you a good trader or bad trader. If you are a good trader, there is money to be made from the rise and dips of Bitcoin's price - good money. If you cannot trade to save your life, you are better off holding for the long term. The price is most probably going to rise, as Bitcoin's potential is realized.

Virat Kohli didn't play good at all IMO, even though he made 92 runs with a strike rate of almost 150, but RCB wanted something better from him, considering the strike rate of Rohit Sharma which was 180+. There's a bit of difference in both the innings though, RCB's wickets were falling fast, as compared to MI's inning.
Rohit Sharma's knock was an extremely good knock, but he also had the support of a strong Lewis knock. Their partnership was worth 108 runs, which was important considering MI were reduced to 0/2. This really set the stage for Pandya to swing the bat. The Bangalore batsmen failed, apart from Kohli. No other batsman managed to score more than 20 runs. It is tough to win matches like that, especially when the target is so steep.

Localbitcoins Now Demands ID For ‘Significant’ Trade VolumesPeer-to-peer Bitcoin trading platform Localbitcoins is causing controversy on social media after users complained about surprise anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) measures. http://bitcoinist.com/bye-anonymity-localbitcoins-id-kyc/ It is indeed surprising that a platform which facilitates peer to peer trading is trying to implement measures which people usually expect from banks and arms of the government. The time is ripe for a decentralized platform to emerge as a popular alternative.

Can they? Yes, but success isn't guaranteed. Having 51% of the hashrate doesn't automatically mean they can succeed with an attack.
If they have 51% of the hashrate for a short (sustained) time, it is likely that they can succeed with an attack. In fact, they can even succeed with an attack, if they have less than 51% of the attack (with a slightly lower probability). You can use this calculator to tell you the probability. https://people.xiph.org/~greg/attack_success.html

Most governments do not pretend that it does not exist - they do keep warning their citizens about the dangers of using virtual currencies. So they treat it like a vice, similar to gambling. While most governments discourage gambling, they are happy to enjoy the tax revenues that gambling generates. Similarly with Bitcoin - if it is taxable in some way, they will go ahead and do it.

The past week has been great for the Byteball holders as we continue to witness the increase in price of it together with BTC. I know that most of you are here in this thread with questions regarding the technology behind this coin or other stuff but I just can't contain myself due to its price right now. It really appears that we have hit the bottom and is looking for a great reversal in the coming weeks (if BTC doesn't f*ck this up).
Looking forward to see this in ATH in the very near future.
The whole market grown up considerably, so Byteball is not exception. However, it is definitely good to see Byteball rose significantly in recent days, in both trading pairs (BTC and fiat). I believe that with lots of promising features which Byteball can bring to community, the coin has high probability to keep growing in the future. Let's support the project and stay tuned for more good news from its team and upcoming price movements (hope that upward movements). That is correct. Byteball has grown considerably in the last one week, but it is still languishing at #80 in the list of cryptocurrencies. Byteball definitely has the potential to be in the top 50, if not top 30 cryptocurrencies. The pessimism post the cancellation of the airdrop slowly seems to be receding now.

Dinesh Karthik would have felt nervous in the match against Delhi Daredevils, with some people calling into question his leadership skills. He must be relieved after Andre Russell came good in the match, striking 41 of just 12 balls taking KKR to a score of 200. That eventually proved out of reach of Delhi Daredevils.

The Australian woman has been charged with buying drugs. It doesn’t matter if she bought them with bitcoins, Australian dollars or Qantas air miles. It doesn’t matter whether she bought them in person, on the clear net or on the dark net. Once in a while, you do get these sensationalist headlines

The article states that if the price of Bitcoin falls below the cost of mining, mining will stop and Bitcoin will meet its end. What this fails to recognise is that there is no one cost of mining. Miners will continue to mine as long as their marginal costs are covered.

This activity is taken considering emerging scams in cryptoworld. So Gov not announce Bitcoin ban. Regulations in process so have to take some strong actions for the same.
This action has not been taken due to the many scams. The number of scams is far higher in the fiat world. This move seems to be driven by the fear of something new. The RBI has been warning people about the dangers of investing in cryptocurrencies for the past few years now. But people have largely ignored the warnings. Hence this action.

I don’t think the bounty is going to work. The money siphoned off has already been split up into many addresses and the trail is being obfuscated. The police will have a better chance by traditional investigations, since this is suspected to be an inside job.

Mumbai Indians have set a challenging target of 195 for Delhi Daredevils. Teams chasing have generally held the upper hand in this IPL, but this total could challenge Delhi. It was an all round effort by Mumbai, with the platform set up by a century opening partnership by Yadav and Lewis. They might have expected to score more runs in the last 5 overs and cross 200, but 195 is a challenging target as well.
