101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow to Buy Bitcoin is Not Advisable.Consider the Factors Before Doing That. on: September 26, 2023, 09:57:52 AM

Risk always exists around us and I also understand how risky it is to borrow money to invest. But what I am asking is if a person has a plan and is confident enough to repay that loan even without needing the profit from that investment, borrowing money to invest is not so bad.

Yeah. Unless you are someone who finds borrowing money a financial strategy like tax benefits or you are certainly expecting higher returns from that money, borrowing is not really a bad idea.

Tho some people have made huge profits from bitcoin, others have lost a lot of money too.  For ordinary people it is typically wiser to use money you can afford to lose and to do so after careful consideration of your financial capability. Invest responsibly and do not take on unnecessary debt, that's it for me.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gives the poor an Opportunity. on: September 25, 2023, 11:59:43 AM
Unfortunately, most poor people don't have the courage and capabilities to put their money at risk. Indeed, it was a great opportunity for them and for everyone but can urge them to consider investing in Bitcoin, they also have some priorities in life more than making an investment. Most of them are financially illiterate and there is no other thing on their mind but to just survive and be content with what they have now.

Investment needs money and the poor don't have that much start(I'm talking about those who are really poor). A reason why we can hear that Bitcoin is only for rich people.

Bitcoin gives opportunity to the poor but not everyone grabs it or can grab it even. Its value swings like a rollercoaster so if you're struggling to make ends meet, you might not want to risk what little money you have on something so uncertain.

But maybe we can break the connotation that bitcoin is only for rich people, its for people from different financial backgrounds who have the knowledge, the access access to tech, and the money that they can afford to lose.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 25, 2023, 11:49:54 AM

Failure is failure, no matter how it happened, even if it's this very close to becoming success, no one cares about how prepared you are, people only cares about the result, it's the same thing with gambling and losing money.

This type of painful experience is meant to happen in our lives, it's unavoidable,  and it's how we learn, unfortunately, there is nothing there to learn from gambling, other than you aren't just lucky, and since luck is the only thing stopping you from your goals, you should be wise enough to know that there is no way to keep luck to yourself all the time.

The only thing left is to gamble with what you can afford to lose, always know that you are up against the unchangeable (LUCK).

Right. Dwelling on “what could have beens” may lead some gamblers to try to recover their losses by making impulsive bets or just best without even thinking about it. Gambling outcomes are often unpredictable, and thinking about what might have happened if you had made different choices can be ineffective. Anyhow, each bet is independent from each other.

Rather than focusing on frustrations, youre right to focus gambling the money you can afford at that time.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 25, 2023, 11:00:23 AM
In my opinion, gambling is not always about luck, even though that is the biggest factor, other variables also have an influence in increasing the potential for winning in gambling activities such as; strategy, analysis, emotion, and timing. These variables have a big role in increasing the chances of winning at gambling and are what gamblers need to master to be successful.

It isn’t. I doubt that a pro in gambling would say so too. Luck plays a significant role in gambling especially if you are just starting  but there are also other factors too like skill, strategy, and knowledge that can improve your chances of winning. I think it is best to say that it is a combination of luck and skill. Responsible gambling too makes you understand the odds and make wise decisions.
105  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 24, 2023, 12:49:26 PM
I do feel the same, especially after Covid-19. I feel anxious sometimes and it's normal. Tho I don't stay optimistic, I don't do that. I think of the worst thing possible and try not to be on it. To start, I think what you can try is to learn to let go of the things you can't control, like the war, natural calamities, and inflation. Try to put your energy towards the things you can control. Start with small steps, like if you have debt, prioritize paying it down, starting with those that have high-interests. Reducing your debt can reduce financial stress, you'll feel a relief. Slowly, educate yourself on how you can earn money and wisely spend it. If you find it hard to land a job, it's entirely normal. Keep refining your approach, do something that you haven't done yet.

What's important is you breakdown your big problems into smaller ones and solve it step by step. Take a breath and give yourself permission to have doubts and anxiety, then have time to work on it. Maybe ask for help. You are not  alone in this. There are people like you and there are people who cares for you I believe.
106  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: September 24, 2023, 12:22:36 PM
There are many small-scale business ideas that you can choose that have low risks and promising profits. You can try opening a motorbike/car washing service, opening a laundry service and opening a food/drink shop near where you live. This business idea does not require large capital, you only offer services to customers and can employ 2 to 3 employees or depending on needs.
This type of business has low risks and offers promising profits. You can also carry out other activities that you have been doing because this type of business can be controlled by the employees you entrust.

Services really is more preferable to start a business rather than goods. Especially if you don't have much  capital yet, you don't have to invest heavily in inventory or manufacturing. If you start with a service business, you can add goods someday. Also, if you have specialized skills or expertise in a particular area like web design or photography, a service business is a good choice.  You can adjust your services based on market demand and client preferences anytime and once you have the right capital, you can expand your business. I think that is a good start.
107  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: September 24, 2023, 10:45:29 AM
My realization in life is that no matter how well compensated you are, the amount of your salary will still be not enough to cater all your wants and needs. That is why we should learn to weigh things and focus on what’s necessary and dispose those are not. And with the help of a potential investments, you will never be struggling to make ends meet because you have multiple source of funds that’s already providing for you. With that, you’ll be able to cater to all your needs and wants eventually.

You can't meet needs and want at once but you can't meet them in a lifetime either. I remember during undergrad, we define economics as the study of how individuals have unending needs and wants with limited resources to spend. For most people, I think it is all about making choices and figuring out how to get the most out of what you have.

But for people who actually have the money to invest, something that they can afford to lose, to prepare for their future and save money for their luxurious hobbies would be desirable. In the end we al have to continuously fulfill both our needs and wants to live a life.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling? on: September 23, 2023, 10:42:57 AM
What makes women go into gambling?

Possibility to get new set of frying pans quicker than Xmas or Bday.
When I saw this picture, I didn't know my reaction towards it. And I did not know if to be sad or it is funny to me because the comment is so humorous. But then it could also be the reason women involved in gambling just to have a new set of cooking stuff maybe new set of dress or shoes. Priority is very much dependent on gender. You can see a guy who gambles just to buy a bottle of bear and it will be so funny to the other gender who do not take bear. I have said what I think make women go into gambling, this is just a reaction to the above comment.

I assumed the picture is supposed to be funny. Tho I felt a little bit of sarcasm in there. Anyway, women gamble primarily for entertainment and enjoyment same as men. I mean, there is no really a distinct difference to generalize. The drive lies beyond gender but more on the behavior and the capability to gamble.

I mean are there still cultures who still see gambling to be less socially acceptable for women? It would be so outdated.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 23, 2023, 04:19:17 AM
Your gambling habit can definitely affect your relationship especially if you can't and don't know how to control your habits because when their is lack of control lose of finance is definitely bound to happen and in most cases addiction or that loss of fund can make you very aggressive to the point of even getting to the point of abusing your spouse because I have seen many cases of such scenario happening over here and most times the police even gets involved.

Definitely. Gambling cannot make your relationship bad alone. Addiction does. When people gamble too much than they can afford, it leads to financial losses and maybe personal connections too.

However it can also affect relationships in a good way. Most people do gambling for entertainment. I also learned from this forum that there are people who do gambling to raise fund for charities. Responsible gambling creates income and genuine relationship with different people.

116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Share Your Experience About Casinos You Found Here on: September 21, 2023, 08:33:36 PM
1. Useless support. When they provide inaccurate information or can't assist you with anything.
4. Bonuses that I never asked. When I deposit and see a bonus active I need to contact support to cancel it.
5. Technical issues.

These three trigger me the most and I think the majority would agree. Playing on a newly established online gambling casino one of the most essential parts of their business is their gambling platform. Back then there was a site where it has a good interface but very poor execution. There is a button for technical support but always offline or redirecting to another page full of advertisements smh. That's my first one, second is when you are stacking bonuses, not always ut there are times that it is automatically being used, however again you cannot contact technical issues. Whenever there is a problem for your information or updates o the website, it is very difficult to reach them. It's the entertainment that I am for when I do gambling that is why when I bet, I expect the best possible experience.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Education in Financial Literacy on: September 21, 2023, 08:24:58 PM
Set new standards of your life.
I use the expression you said in terms of making money, because when I'm working to make money, I never even remember to die and always remember to live forever so I never feel tired when working. It also motivates me not to be lazy because I always have the urge to produce more, besides continuing to add knowledge to things I don't know in life. But apart from all that, I also don't forget to worship in life because it can remind me of death which certainly everyone will not know when.

Definitely. Because if you don't have any standard for how you want to live your life, you will just live like other people. What is your standard on making an investment? Is saving enough for you? Do you take financial risks? Once you know what you want in life, it's very easy to identify what is the real opportunity for you and what is a distraction. At first, there won't be any balance in your life because your working on one aspect. But over time as you work on other things little by little, it will compound and build a foundation for a better life. A good financial literate man is just a reflection of their own discipline doing what they know is right.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 08:18:03 PM
Are you doing this intense gambling experience by betting significant amount of your bankroll? This is insane but worth it if you are a thrill seeker for entertainment.

And there's the most important highlighted note. Do this thing only if you're seeking thrill and entertainment. That is why you as a participant in gambling on any bet must have first a very specific goal. What is it you are aiming for? Are you there just for fun? Are you there to make money? Are you there to make a living? Are you there to approach it like a business thinking in probabilities?

Because if you just want entertainment then it's reasonable to be a degenerate with your money. But if you are there to make money aiming to have at least a consistent profit, then you must be aware of respecting the risk.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 21, 2023, 08:10:55 PM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.
--
it will be done slowly. maybe after novice traders start to get trapped and experience losses because they follow their ambition to make a profit.
Maybe every novice trader also does something similar. Even every professional trader today may also make mistakes when they start trading.
I can call it the experience of a trader's journey to become greater. but it all depends on the trader's ability to make decisions after what they experience in trading.

It happened to me almost at the beginning of my trading. I'm still a beginner trader and still adjusting to it. It is just like you know where the price is likely to go, you know when to make a move. You know what session to buy, but then... I entered an unnecessary trade. My wins are also being taken by my small losses considered as human error caused by my impatience, greed, or boredom.

What I would suggest is to have a constant review of your behavior and work towards your negative notes little by little. Don't overwhelm yourself. Another is to have a life outside trading. Don't rely too much on your profit for your living or else you will carry a lot of pressure on your back.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: September 21, 2023, 07:54:56 PM
Yes women are generally afraid to take risks because they can control the bad and good sides of gambling very easily men once lost control is much harder to get back. A greater proportion of males participated in any form of gambling than females gambling can be an addiction. Gambling addicts cannot control the urge to gamble even if they lose a lot of money they are willing to risk something valuable in the hope that the reward will be more valuable. But women are afraid and mostly women don't like gambling.

I guess this opinion makes sense that is why there are also lots of well-known women gamblers in history. They've won not because o their gender or dominance in the game brought by their intimidation towards their opponents but y their discipline in playing the game. For every game that they've entered, they are the ones in control.

Most women don't like gambling because they have a low tolerance for it. They value more the security of their money rather than risking it and have the probability of losing. They cannot take such big risk, when they do- they are very conservative.
