1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertising monitored closely on: January 23, 2021, 04:08:04 PM
Gambling is already viewed as a sinful venture, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be regulated because of course, it is an industry that appeals, to most po the masses. So making sure that it abides upon certain preset rules that will encourage responsible gambling and protect people from harm or defamation. Advertisements like these should be stopped and have the company it advertsises face consequences.
I've seen the screenshots in the discussion and the news about these ads that clearly look like they're meant for children, and I think it should be forbidden. Gambling websites should look serious and too complicated for kids to understand, not like a nice little game with toys... It's very irresponsible and cruel to target young people because they're not aware of the risks and responsibility, and they are even more likely to develop addiction if I remember correctly (I read about it once).
But gambling advertising in actually bad in many ways. One of them are the infamous Google ads of phishing websites that copy the designs of famous casinos. So the area needs more regulations and oversight.
exactly. Agencies and entities that are there to support and protect people from harm or defamation in the world of gambling should be more vigilant and responsible in the advertisements they put out. You can't just put an add like that with the sole purpose of gaining publicity in mind. That's just downright wrong and messed up.

Scammers are becoming more clever by the day. So it's either you rest easy and take the chance or secure yourself nd be future-proof. As of now no one can beat 2FA unless they stole your phone too so I would really suggest setting up 2FA.that couple of minutes of inconvenience would save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs covid 19? on: January 21, 2021, 07:30:25 PM
Paradoxically, as the world is recovering from the effects of COVID-19 through the help of these vaccines, we are seeing a dump on bitcoin's pricing. Though this can easily be dodged by simply claiming that it is but a baseless correlation, it still puzzles me. Although I could understand that this is because of people trying to return to their normal lives and with that comes the cashing out of coins.

1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Had you sold your Bitcoins ? on: January 19, 2021, 06:25:40 AM
Many people may say you have made a foolish decision. But personally I know where you are coming from. The fact that the $30k bitcoin was in during December feels like a bubble is enough to shake the hearts of people into selling. And back then it would be the most logical thing to do. However, you wanting it to drop back to 6000 may take a bit more since resistance is high while it is still sitting at 40k today.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arbitrage on sports bets? on: January 11, 2021, 10:58:12 PM
I haven't encountered any BTC gambling site that allows this as of yet, coz it is gonna bankrupt the house, although it is quite understandable for people to d the these due to unfair house edge or other factors but really, it all boils down to the question whether you are gambling to relieve of stress or gambling to earn money, because the latter will be so hard to achieve.
1048  Economy / Economics / Re: The recent rise in prices, temporary or more long term? on: January 11, 2021, 10:21:14 PM
Price has gone down yesterday and is continuing to do so as we speak, which may already give OP a hint of what's the answer to his question. Though it is still too early to say that bitcoin will start to depreciate once again since it has only happened for a couple of hours and may very well bounce back depending on the people's confidence towards the coin.

1050  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying a Tesla with Bitcoin on: January 03, 2021, 09:37:00 PM
Quite interesting yet not surprising how a single bitcoin who wouldn't even be able to buy a box of pizza 15 years ago is now able to buy a Tesla 3, known for being a luxury car worth thousands of dollars. Old hodlers of the coin must be having fun with their millions now that bitcoin is reaching ever greater heights.
The development of the Bitcoin price is indeed very crazy, it can be seen from the comparison of the Tesla price with the Bitcoin price.
I am optimistic that in 2021 it only takes 1 BTC to buy a Tesla, therefore today many rich people realize investing in Bitcoin is much more
profitable than investing in banks or Gold. Therefore I will HODL the Bitcoin that I have for at least the next 10 years as a retirement plan.
There is a lapse of a few years for every ATH, so I don't think bitcoin will retain a 31k price all throughout ths period. A lot of people will cash out for instance which will significantly affect the value, not to mention price corrections coming in.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any insurance service for gamblers to retain heavy losses....??? on: January 03, 2021, 09:13:26 PM
Insurance covers things that the person applying for wouldn't want to happen to himself and something that he wouldn't deliberately put himself at risk of being disadvantaged. That's why there are no gambling insurance coverages as of date. Though this may change in the future, but will be highly unlikely still, since it defeats the purpose of insuring yourself.
I don't think that there would ever be such service it is like convincing people to be a gambler without a fear of losing.
If they couldn't control their own bets then they should stop gambling or they would justbe destroyed due to addiction.
Exactly, giving people a chance to even cut out once on their losses will put them in a spot that automatically induces addiction, so instead of bettering these people's lives, it can potentially harm them instead.
1052  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 02, 2021, 10:13:03 PM
A second lockdown wouldn't have been necessary for everyone if in the first place huge country leaders chose to impose strict guidelines to follow and included powerful information campaigns to let people know of the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic, but reality is oftentimes disappointing. Like the US and the Philippines, it will take a really hard push and a really long time before the economy recovers fully.
1053  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: January 01, 2021, 10:19:17 PM
This is to be expected considering how people's perspective on bitcoin changed over the course of 3 years after the ATH last 2017. Most likely these companies are FOMOing their brains out so they had no choice but to buy tons and tons of bitcoin. This wouldn't be that impactful in the present but as soon as the supply slowly dries out, people will see how big these thousands and thousands of bitcoins hodled by the few top 1%s of our society.
The more this coin is hold by institutional investors, the higher likely the price will increase because only few will be left on exchanges, I saw crypto alert bot showing large amount of Bitcoin that were leaving exchange to personal wallet even at high price of $25k. This shows that institutional investors are buying this digital assets even at higher price because they are looking towards future expectations.
However, it will really be a disaster if these wallets that are holding this huge amount of Bitcoin decide to dump on exchange.

This wouldn't be the only thing they can manipulate once all of this is said and done. We're going to have a big problem once bitcoins become scarce, they will moat likely sell these coins for higher lrices and since we want to get into the profitability offered by bitciin, we wouldn't have any choice but to comply.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asking About Riobet Casino on: January 01, 2021, 09:25:30 PM
Haven't really checked the site out because of speculations that it isba Roobet ripoff planning to dip once it gets enough traction and money, but to my surprise it actually is getting a lot of attention and is pretty much legit. Plus the free spins which hardly come by nowadays definitely pushes the people to bet on their site.

1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Major differences between Bitcoin rally 2017 and 2020 on: December 30, 2020, 11:09:46 PM
A lot of people already learned from the last 2017's ATH and has since been hodling their coins as hard as they could despite the temptations ensued by the current ATH,which is even bigger than the one three years ago. Moreso, we saw a huge increase in the interest of private companies to the coin and had done their best to get their hands on some bitcoins right now. Boosting thebdemand and causing an uprise in the value of bitcoin.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Nocoiner narrative, "Bitcoin is not scarce". on: December 30, 2020, 10:38:22 PM
I've seen people argue over and over again about how she is right since "bitcoin can be bought without buying the whole coin's value anyway". Which is totally stupid and outrageous. Just because you can buy a portion of it does not mean it's not scarce or anything.

The 21 Million supply's scarcity is alleviated by utility tokens like Satoshis. But on their own, they don't hold any value at all.
~
Purchasing a pizza and cutting it in half does not give you double pizzas. It only splits it into two pieces, but put together it's still the same.

Say some brand new tech is developed and a new scientific discovery is made, which makes us able to grain a 1oz coin of gold into pieces as small as the millionth part of a picogram. Does this remove gold's scarcity? It doesn't. Just because you can split it into more pieces does not multiply its existent supply.

I personally cannot compare the physical vs virtual worlds because both of them are constantly changing and in both of them we make new discoveries. Even the millionth of a picogram could probably be split into millions/billions/trillions of other pieces, it's just that we have not discovered a way to do so yet.

From Wikipedia: "Scarcity as an economic concept ... refers to the basic fact of life that there exists only a finite amount of human and nonhuman resources.."

If you can divide Bitcoin into more units than you could've done before, it does not make it less limited. It does not make it easier to gather an entire BTC. If BTC had 16 instead of 8 zeros after the decimal, it would be just as hard to get 1 satoshi as it is today.
Exactly what my point is. Divvying something up does not make it any less scarce, you just divided it up into more pieces with less value than what they had to begin with.
1058  Economy / Economics / Re: US Economy finally rebounds in the right direction. on: December 30, 2020, 09:37:30 PM
Lockdowns imposed by Biden may offset this recovering economy of the US next year, but accompanied with better healthcare and public awareness, this should help out the country recover in the long run instead of pursuing and pushing the economy to recoever as wuickly as possible without a proper contingency plan.
Pfizer vaccine made a good contribution for that rebound and hopefully we are now going to the right path we’re used to be. Anyway, I just heard that Trump is planning a Martial law because Biden defeated him and I don’t know what will be the impact of this one, but I’m sure there will be another problem if this things will push through. We are all suffering because of the pandemic, I wish for the fast recovery especially on a developing countries.
Hopefully the vaccine Pfizer was making would be able to catch up to the fast evolution rate of the virus, if not we'll be risking a couple more dead people, more infrastructures closing and businesses dying out, and stricter lockdown imposed on the country. This will badly hurt the economy and may even make it hard for the US to recover on the long run.
1059  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FreeBitcoin Bot - What do you think about this tool?? on: December 30, 2020, 08:31:29 PM
The bot can be cinfigured to match to your betting behavior. But it would be way better if this bot also learns. With each win and lost, the bot gains knowledge of the game and would improve on its strategies little by little to give you the best possible odds at winning. That would make the bot more worthy and valuable to get and upkeep, plus it would definitely revolutionize the betting industry.
Ain't the bot just working alone, it was the trader who does the command and the bots just followed. This stool is useless if the trader itself isn't good also in trading. Most gamblers overly thinking that the bot could help them, yeah, of course, it helps as it continues to make a trade (buy and sell) as you already send the command. But looking at the results, you'll be surprised how far when you are doing it manually, that seems not profitable at all.

There is no wrong using Bot in trading but we should not always rely on it. If we need to learn more about trading, better have it manually. More experience, more learnings.
Exactly, that's why it is imperative that this bot learns too. It can never rely on the information coming from its owner alone, as they will go nowhere in that scenario.
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPals Bitcoin is a scam on: December 30, 2020, 01:39:26 AM
A bit disappointed about it honestly, but it's too far from a scam to be considered a scam. For instance, there's the fact that you can still convert it to dollars which you can then withdraw. And the fact that coinbase doesn't make you own the keys too yet became one of if not the biggest crypto app in the west says a lot about the paypal bitcoin feature. There's the things to get around.
In my opinion, Paypal isn't scam but they provided very worst service.they close accounts for simple reason even without reason. Those 3 points you mentioned, i can't disagree with you but you should understand that, they have some limitation too!! It isn't possible for any platform to enable all features of crypto so soon while they just adpot it! So should wait more for their nex annonucment about those facts
Exactly. They value privacy so much thinking it will help fend the hackers off yet still experience yearly cases of hacking anyway. The feature is still in its infancy and would include features that would improve thebquality of buyimg bitcoin in the website.
