by the way, withdrawal requests over 100 might get sent to you in multiple transactions.

for example if you request 1234 btc and i happen to have 1000 btc in my wallet from recent deposits or whatever, i'll send it to you and send the remaining 234 later as it becomes available.

having 1000 sitting idle in my wallet is not cool; at 6.9% per week, it only takes 2 hours and 26 minutes to burn through 1 btc  Shocked

As he handles withdrawals manually, thank goodness & also any changes of withdrawal addresses manually as that can't be done on his site I was pleased to see from when the original passwords were just the deposit addresses, then a simple 2FA that would work for everyone who requested it would be a 4 number PIN that can be set one time on the site (or PM maybe) & is irrevocable except by email confirmation (per-arranged email address) & Skype interrogation re: account history, balance, RL name if previously given, secret question, whatever, etc & there should be a scaled fee for one loosing/forgetting one's PIN to mitigate the hassle - say 2% of balance on the account.

as a few people would already know, changing your withdrawal address does require proof of ownership; i've been getting people to make a specific tx from their current withdrawal address. so far no-one's lost access to their current one.

i like the PIN idea though, something i could put in the login area for that individual account.

Hey payb.tc,

Ever thought coding up a new section allowing users to create Pass Through's from BitcoinMax. It will be a double pass through lol. I might help you out with all the processing time it takes to manage accounts? Or is this not possible?

If it isn't an issue then thats cool.
He still hasn't setup the automation for new accounts, let alone automatic withdraws. So, I think even if this where "wanted to be done," he'd still need to code everything else in place to make sure it stays secure.

sorry not a priority, dice. (i'm not even sure what benefit it would bring - you mean for those people who can't afford 5 btc ? ).

if i thought managing many accounts was a real problem, i wouldn't have dropped the minimum from 10 to 5 btc.

last night i asked the host about SNI (for the SSL stuff) but then went to bed, then i wake up and see all this drama, but they say they don't support SNI so I need a new IP address.

so i'm not sure exactly if the two events are related or not yet, still talking to them.
Obviously you haven't read the part about installing some self signed certificate for all your domains at once.
People just don't feel comfortable sending around unencrypted passwords.

i have read that part, but i don't really know enough about it, and would rather just pay for a new IP address than spend the time to learn at this point.
i had a quick search on the subject but it doesn't look that straight forward.

everything seems to be back, except my avatar URL is still in maintenance mode.
nm, just had to do a hard refresh on that specific URL.

Same here, and how do you do that?

right-click on your broken image where the avatar should be and choose "Open image in a new tab/window".
go to that new tab/window and hold down shift while you click refresh.
go back to the forum page and hit refresh.

these instructions work in windows on chrome.

by the way, for comparison, the bitcoinmax login is hashed around 80,000 times with sha-256 and even that 'overkilll' doesn't produce a noticeable delay when logging in.

TOR is for bad people...
Tor is ... used by governments all over the world.

nice way to strengthen his point Cheesy
1038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts of this? Possible scam in the future? on: July 10, 2012, 04:14:23 AM
As said before, this is pure speculation. Why not both pull out and run in the near future, really, I don't care who vouched for the guy.

What was doods name that just took off, that was a highly reputable member here?

Atlas? Cheesy

1040  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 09, 2012, 11:51:39 PM
i'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but i'm getting some unexpected output from one of the API's.

the transaction hashes vs transaction amounts here:
http://blockchain.info/address/1SyrzeDxhDeB8eML9YnRPMefH6veyJHaS?format=json

does not seem to match the hashes / tx totals here:
http://blockchain.info/address/1SyrzeDxhDeB8eML9YnRPMefH6veyJHaS

any idea what's going on with that? or am i just reading it wrong.

they seem out of alignment like this:

A's hash with  A's total
B's hash with [some invalid tx data]
C's hash with B's total
D's hash with C's total
E's hash with D's total

I couldn't see anything that looked overly wrong. Are you looking at the "advanced" addresses page? e.g. http://blockchain.info/address/1SyrzeDxhDeB8eML9YnRPMefH6veyJHaS?show_adv=true

Normally address pages hide some inputs and outputs which are not considered relevant and hence the API output will be different.

i didn't look at the advanced page, but it's not to do with inputs/outputs.

perhaps i'll start with a simple question: why does the transaction b87991851fa2286053b85af3d55cde3212472352f8bb246a6621763b849b63ac on this JSON output have no 'time' attribute?

http://blockchain.info/address/1SyrzeDxhDeB8eML9YnRPMefH6veyJHaS?format=json

this is the first and only case i've ever seen where a transaction is being returned with no timestamp.
