How legit Is this?Huh

1saleaday.com is very legit.
I'm good friends with the CEO, Ben Federman and we go gun shopping from time to time. I'm Director of Operations for DailyCheckout.com so we sell goods to each other back and forth, I can personally vouch for his products.

What about the stated 90 days warranty?
The majority knows that OEM means NO WARRANTY.
If there is warranty, who is responsible?
1022  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1saleaday.com have a sale on 5870 on: December 06, 2011, 03:40:17 PM
OEM = no warranty.
1023  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [SCAM ALERT] ZTEX USB-FPGA Module : Warranty is non-existent on: December 01, 2011, 02:53:23 AM
I asked Stefan if there was anything special with choosing a power supply, he told me that not, that any consumer grade, supermarket, 5-12v voltage power supply was ok.
Quote
Before that, out of curiosity, I measured the idle output of the PS with a digital multimeter : 13.5 VDC

Why should this be covered under warranty? The warranty shouldn't have to cover a potentially faulty third party PSU.
Wrong. If the guy told him any after market power supply would work, then that is not fault by the consumer.
If they want to prevent this from happening, they need to include the power supply.
Why do you think all the stuff we have come with a power supply of its own?

2. should we be scared ? I certainly am.

No.  Even w/ GPU one can 51% attack the network w/ roughly 20M invested.  This brings the cost closer to 10M (be sure to include labor, warehouse space, electricity, cooling, security, etc).

It simply isn't worth it for someone to spend that kind of money to destroy Bitcoin.  20M or 10M.  If/when Bitcoin becomes larger the network will hopefully be even larger thus as the potential of Bitcoin rises the cost to destroy it rises also.

No blockchain will ever be immune to the threats of governments.  Even if the cost is $100M it is "nothing".  The US has wasted something like $500,000 million on the three decade long failed war on drugs and almost $1,00,000 million on the war against terror.  (Side note wars against nouns are usually futile).

The point of the high cost of a block chain is to make it ECONOMICALLY NONVIABLE for an attacker to spend the amount of money necessary to destroy the network.  It isn't a magic gain auto and unlimited immunity against every govt on the planet.
Sure, the Gov can always spend money at will. The US gov simply has to print more money. I am sure $10M is nothing since the gov has already printed trillions
1026  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 5850 Xtreme hangs Win7 x64 randomly on: November 07, 2011, 12:08:49 AM
yes, fresh install.
tried 10.7 all the way to 11 catalyst.
all just driver only.
sometimes it is hard lockup, other times it says driver crashed.
All the drivers are properly installed for audio and other things, no "!" in device manager.

Yeah, the miner statuses don't seem to work very well unless the hashrate is high.

Maybe there could be an option for slow miner or something to extend the 10 minutes if you are like mining on a crappy old nvidia card you find in your drawer and plugged in because it is more use turning my landlords electricity to a few bitcent then in my drawer...

Also the updates seem to be laggy or something. I have also noticed the CPU currency pools showing N for the miners when results have been submitted in last few minutes...
i am mining TBX using CPU, NOT GPU.
The time is set to 5 (the default value from the TBX miner).
1028  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Sapphire 5850 Xtreme hangs Win7 x64 randomly on: November 06, 2011, 09:11:01 PM
Got a few Sapphire 5850 Xtreme that have some weird problems that i don't know what's causing it.
The system would hang randomly, and sometimes even reboot.
The system hanging is random. it can hang while booting up, entering the windows screen, runs fine for hrs then hang, runs fine for days then hang, etc. No consistency.

I've tested numerous ways, including fresh install of Win7, tried diff driver versions, lowered the GPU clocks, run at default clocks, test the card on other system etc. BTW, I've got 3 of these cards, and they all behave the same way. Since they run fine when tested on their own on other systems, the GPU hardware must be good.
The motherboard is also good, b/c it runs fine with other GPU installed.

All hardware seems to be good, as the card runs fine on other systems.
This is NOT a power supply issue, as I used a known good 900W unit.

Here is a link to problem complaining about the same issues that I am having:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/2852-63-5850-win7-driver-issues

I thought I would post here since a lot of people here use 5850 cards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In accounts detail page, it shows my TBX worker is NOT active.
However, my TBX worker is really mining away. I checked the cmd window, and it clearly shows it is mining and submitting results.
What is wrong on solidcoin.us?

What you see in the CLI is just noise. The shares that count are the ones that say "Proof of work result: True (Yay!!)".

The Acc Details page has a 10 minute window. If no "result: True" came through in the last ten minutes, it will register as not submitting. Just give it a few. Sometimes you will be submitting more shares than others.
Actually I was referring to the "Proof of work result: True (Yay!!)". I see a lot of it in the CMD window.
I don't see any "result: True".
So, this means the website should show that the working is "Y" in active field.
BTW, my CPU is a Core i7 920, running 8 threads.

1032  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [149 GHs] NMCBit Merged Mining is here! PPS for NMC and BTC enabled on: October 27, 2011, 01:43:37 PM
i have been mining for the past 24 hrs, and got 0 BTC.
My machines avg about 7GH/s. Used to get 3-5BTC/day at BTC Guild.

Is NMCBit having some issues? I've received BTC yesterday and the day before, but today I got 0 BTC.
We pay when a block is found even PPS.

with the last block's bad luck you should clean up.
What do you mean by "you should clean up"?
Well with PPS you will be doing better than those on proportional as you bet paid as if we found 3 blocks while everyone else has to split the pot of 50 btc once the block is found.

If you still don't get it.
google "clean up" Idioms

Googled clean up idioms, still don't get what you are saying.
On the http://www.nmcbit.com/dashboard page, the "PPS" check box is greyed out.
I think you are referring to that. I would like to be paid based on my mining speed contribution, not based on how many BTC I actually found. I don't like the "luck" part. Since the "PPS" box is greyed out, how can I do it?

1035  Economy / Economics / Why won't people donate via bitcoins to Wikileaks? on: October 25, 2011, 11:33:08 PM
I am sure most people have heard that VISA, master, paypal, and western union all stopped processing payments to Wikileaks.
Why don't people just donate via bitcoins? nobody can stop the transaction.
1036  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Intel GPUs in their CPUs on: October 25, 2011, 07:22:38 PM
Intel is quite new to this whole GPU thing. For them, right now, it's good enough if somebody can see the Windows desktop, watch YouTube and play Farmville. And honestly that's good enough for the majority of people buying these systems. Maybe in the future their offerings will improve.

Intel has been selling GPU for 20 years.  Intel is the market "leader" in terms of volume.  They sell more GPU than AMD and NVidia combined.  If 20 years of experience hasn't caused them to be innovative I wouldn't start holding your breath now.
While that is true, we must also realize that high performing GPU is NOT Intel's core business. This is precisely why it sucked so bad.

How to use a backup pool aka fallback support:

Fallback support is in the OpenCL miner only. In the flags, specify the info of the backup pool or pools. For example if I want to fallback to my account on slush's pool, I would write:

Kiv.GPU:mypass@api.bitcoin.cz:8332

If you don't know the host name or port, you can see it in the console tab whenever you run a miner. That's all you need for basic support. You can tweak it with these options:

--failback=N   attempt to fail back to the primary pool every n getworks, default 2
--tolerance=N   use fallback pool only after N consecutive connection errors, default 2
Is it possible to use Phoenix miner with fallback support?

If using OpenCL miner, the info of backup pool will be
Kiv.GPU:mypass@api.bitcoin.cz:8332

Is the "Kiv.GPU" part constant? does it change depending on the GPU number?

messed something up on the web site fixing it if you are hashing that part is working just not the web.
Yep, I was just going to check the miners, and realized the website is down.
But like he said, the hashing part is still working.
