Is it to late to nominate?
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties for Hunting down Scammers on: July 13, 2013, 04:42:17 AM
Will if enough people in one area can show up with baseball bats and the proper equipment masks, etc., there should be no legal recourse for those obtaining a debt owed.

This is my problem right here.

What if you've got the wrong person? Your version of "beyond a reasonable doubt" will be much stricter than the person who's just lost 1000 Bitcoins.

Also, people trying to discredit Bitcoin or make a quick buck won't care if the correct person is identified. They'll just want to tarnish Bitcoin's name and/or collect a bounty.

Sounds like this hits close to home for you?

I mean there is all that possibility of getting it wrong but  maybe there are alternatives to beating skulls in but just need to be worked out.

I'm surprised we don't have a place where there are bounties placed on Bitcoin scammers like a marketplace of people who are close ( localbitcoins of scammer hunting lol  )  to the perpetrators can hunt them down .  All I know is I'm sick of hearing about people being scammed out of bitcoins etc., etc., ....

What does it say about this forum/Bitcoin that a market could exist for hunting down scammers?

It doesn't bode will that such a thing could exists lol....

Also, what legal recourse is there to extract Bitcoin debt from someone?

Will if enough people in one area can show up with baseball bats and the proper equipment masks, etc., there should be no legal recourse for those obtaining a debt owed.

I'm sure you're not suggesting illegal modes of operation Wink
I think its safe to say I am Smiley  All I know is if there was such a marketplace I would think twice of pulling some of the shit that goes on around here...if anything its start of a deterrent  Wink

1050  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Does anyone send Cash in the mail for Bitcoins... on: July 11, 2013, 08:58:18 PM
People have done it, sometimes it works, but not always a great idea. I would advise moving your thread to this section.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

I believe I've seen a few people buying/selling via mail order in the currency exchange section.

Ok, if I know how to move it lol ... also when you say "sometimes it works , but not always a great idea"  explain?

Thanks!
1051  Economy / Currency exchange / Does anyone send Cash in the mail for Bitcoins... on: July 11, 2013, 08:54:50 PM

Hey guys https://bitcoinstarter.com/ has been around for a while now - check it out!
+1

There is no real reason to make many kickstarter type sites when we have one! We all should rally around BitcoinStarter and make it successful.

Competition is always great. Plus I woundn't start a kickstarter in BTC cause bitcoin protocol scripts will kill it instantly.
It spreads things to thin for me! But I hear what your saying :p how you!?
