1101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up is Possible! My top 7 Hints! on: March 04, 2019, 11:47:02 AM
Great tips to earn merits and rank up, keep it up bud.

Just a Bump from my side to this well explained and organized guide to rank up.
1102  Other / Meta / Re: [QUESTION] How Can I Activate Copper Membership? on: March 04, 2019, 08:15:44 AM
I activated my copper membership by sending the rest 0.0005BTC to a new address.

That's really cool, forums payment system works pretty well. Even if a person sends wrong amount of BTC to the payment address, system will detect the difference and notify about it.

I was thinking what happens if a person sends more than the listed amount of BTC? I think than it would surely be marked as a donation to the forum in case their is no refund.
1103  Other / Meta / Re: [QUESTION] How Can I Activate Copper Membership? on: March 04, 2019, 05:37:21 AM

Eh?
But the message in his profile is self-explanatory, he just have to pay the missing 0.0005BTC in order to activate copper membership.
Ok, I see Shocked

He is notified about the remaining 0.0005BTC pay, to send it to a new address. Hope it works out when he pays the remaining fee.
1104  Other / Meta / Re: [QUESTION] How Can I Activate Copper Membership? on: March 04, 2019, 04:12:20 AM
Your transaction ID shows you have sent 0.00625676 BTC, to the forum payment address but the payable amount for a copper membership is 0.00675676 BTC, at the same time it's clearly written on the payment page that "Bitcoin network fees and exchange/wallet withdrawal fees will not count toward your payment.".

Your payment was transferred from an exchange and most of the exchange have high withdrawal fees, this eat your rest of the BTC as Tx fee and the correct amount was not transferred to the listed address which stopped the system from triggering your copper membership application, also it is fully automatic.

I think you should re-buy the membership by sending the full amount again with exact number of BTC and your last payment could be counted as an donation to the forum. Wink
1105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I increase my merits? on: March 03, 2019, 06:14:37 AM
If you want the ability to wear a signature, purchase a copper membership.
Don't encourage newbie to buy copper membership in order to wear signature. They will spam over forum and this topic is a example.
That's just an another way of thinking, but there are some net positive effects to the forum if a user buy a copper member account, it affects the BTC storage and income of the forum which can be later used in the betterment and spam management too. Wink

I think there is nothing bad in promoting the sale of copper membership.

This really a good explanation for making quality posts.

1107  Other / Meta / Re: Should forum persuade users of the merits of a customized trust lists? on: March 03, 2019, 03:12:33 AM
Perhaps someone else could shed some light on this? Perhaps I'm mistaken and newbies don't see it at all, and I just followed the link from another thread somewhere.

Newbies can surely see it if they click on the link.

Trust list suggestion was announced by theymos here and

Force custom lists

Display an annoying message instead of a trust score next to every post until the person sets a custom list with the assistance of the set initial trust page.

Pros:
 - No remnant of top-down decision-making remains.
Cons:
 - Newbies will often choose poorly, especially since the suggested list is possibly manipulable.
 - I've been thinking that I might want to enable trust for non-users, and that'd be impossible with this.

Where do newbies see that? When they click on Trust in Profile settings?

Newbies could not see this trust list suggestion page directly they at least need to read the rules listed in the sticky thread by lauda on Beginners & Help section or the announcement from theymos above. I will try creating a thread about it in the Beginners & Help explaining its usage to newbies as there is no other dedicated one.

I have noticed an interesting feature about the link to the trust list suggestion.

Every time you click on the trust list suggestion link or refresh the suggesting page the list of suggested DT members keeps on changing randomly. This makes the system more free for newbies and gives every potential member a chance to be on a forums suggested trust list.

1108  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] PM layout is a bit messy on: March 03, 2019, 02:14:15 AM
The current forum software surely has a non-userfrindly messaging layout which make it very hard to keep track on PMs received and sent by a same person. At the same time quoting a previous message needs users to find the message to be quoted from a bunch of other PMs by other members which makes the working more annoying.

There are many great features for PM sorting and handling which we can add to the existing messaging layout and make the user experience better.

But, I am recently testing the new forum software Epochtalk and most of the features you suggested above to be added to the PM layout are already implemented there.

I tried testing the working by sending some test PMs.

The new forum software already contains some upgraded features in the PM section, which includes tracking the PMs of a single users in one layout and not jumbling all the PMs at one place. You can track all the sent and received PMs at one place ( no different inbox and outbox)

But, I was unable to find any PM quoiting feature there, if I am not wrong it is just not implemented or suggested yet.

A suggestion from my side would be adding a message forwarding feature like telegram, from which we can verify if the message is legit and sent by the quoted sender only. Now, there is no such option to forward previous PMs, the only option to check the legitimacy of the PM is to report it to the moderator.
1109  Other / Meta / Re: Should PGP keys be made mandatory for high ranks? on: March 02, 2019, 02:25:55 PM
Bitcoin address are one of the main part in the working of the forum. If a person could not verify his BTC address by signing a message means he could not recover his account in case its locked or hacked. It is one of the important criteria to recover a account along with the original email so adding it as an filled on the Bitcointalk profile is a pretty good suggestion.

But this was already suggested by OgNasty to theymos, and theymos thinks PGP keys are insecure and it needs a revision.

I’ve long thought there should be a spot for PGP fingerprint.

PGP fingerprints are SHA-1, which is insecure. The OpenPGP standard really needs a complete new revision...
1110  Other / Meta / Re: Patrol custom URL guideline + list of active Forum boards on: March 02, 2019, 12:23:46 PM
Great info, I didn't found any other previous thread related to the Petrol function. Its probably very useful to track the latest posts in any section of the forum. Most of the people who like reporting a bunch of posts per day could use this function to keep track on the latest post and find the scams as early as possible. It can be used in many more positive ways too.

1111  Economy / Reputation / Re: Community opinion on Signature campaign spreadsheets on: March 01, 2019, 07:00:42 AM
2. Reduces the scam attempts of non participants towards the campaign.
Can you elaborate more? How can somebody, using the information from the signature spreadsheet, do a scam attacks?
There is too much of abuse in altcoin bounty section by using duplicate entries even in the signature campaign. If a person is registered in a campaign with X name, some spammer could try applying again with the same name and a campaign manager can easily overlook this type of multiple entries. And at the same time if a spreadsheet is private, it would reduce this abuse as the participants are hidden (as per I see). Many participants already abuse bounty campaigns with multiple entries even today.
1112  Economy / Reputation / Re: Community opinion on Signature campaign spreadsheets on: March 01, 2019, 05:14:32 AM
I vote NO

I think it is not that important to make the signature campaign spreadsheet public as the campaign totally depends on the campaign manager, the project they are promoting and the participants of the Campaign which makes it of no use to others basically.

I would like to list some of the advantages of keeping the signature campaign spreadsheet private.

1. Avoids duplicate spamming of any type in the campaign.
2. Reduces the scam attempts of non participants towards the campaign.
3. Rewards or the funds distributed remains totally private, which is advantageous to some projects and participants too.
4. Non participants could be avoided to engage in the working as they can spread FUDS.
5. Total control remains in the hand of the manager towards the accepting of participants to distribution of rewards and that's what a manager is appointed for.
6. Some of the issue about the camping can be solved without making a bubble out of it.
1113  Other / Meta / Re: 3 separate posts on separate threads deleted - which mods and who reported? on: March 01, 2019, 04:20:27 AM
Is suchmoon a secret mod here now?

There is nothing like secret mod, it's all public and you can check if a person is a mod or not by looking at his profile and title on it. As per I know there are 5 administrators who have the ultimate power to moderate on any section which includes Cyrus, Hilariousandco, mprep, Mr.Big, and theymos, than there are mods for specific section or board, also some local mods for local language section. But suchmoon is not a mod for sure.

I would like clear detailed explanation for why 3 of my posts have been deleted today.

Most probably due to off topic posting, if you think the post was on topic you should create a thread including the content of the post about why is it not off topic or something like that.

I would also like to know who reported them. Suchmoon already confessed to taking me off ignore today so she can get my posts deleted. This is completely out of control.

I think just knowing who reported it would not change the fact that they are deleted. As even if anyone else reported the post, it was still to be deleted regardless of the change in reporter.

I mean this snitching bitch obviously reports 100s per day so most are auto deleted but this is getting crazy.

I don't think any of the reported posts are auto-deleted at all.

1115  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious loan to 2double0 from hacker1001101001 (marcotheminer involved) on: February 26, 2019, 03:05:09 AM
He was asking to have the loan sent to the same address he posted 1.5 years ago. I don't think I understand the logic in asking for a test transaction out of the address you are sending the loan to.
Just to let you know the logic:

The OP first had a different BTC address where 2double0 wanted the loan to be funded, which was bc1ql4gn6r75sydqwe99qz6nc44mvkzcfc4hqwqn3y posted by him here.

So, I asked the test transaction form the Old BTC address as he needed the loan to be funded to a new one. But later he said he can accept the loan on the old one too so sent it there by confirming the address once.

But later the OP of the thread was edited by 2double0 with the old BTC address confirming his access to it by sending me a small amount of BTC.

Also, as an FYI, it is possible to sign a message from an address in a blockchain.infocom wallet -- you would need to export the private key, or xprivkey via the console then import it into a wallet that can sign messages, or at least this was the case in the past.

I know that and have a more better and easy method than this to get private keys from blockcahin.com. You just need to set a PassPhrase to your wallet on the blockcahin.com. Put you're pass phrase on BIP 39 Mnemonic Code and you will easily get private keys to all the BTC address linked with your blockcahin.com wallet and later you can sign a message with the Private Keys for sure. Hope this helps you. Wink

But 2double0 just sent me some minimal BTC from the Old address which made the deal quick.
1116  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit Abuse by wilburwilbur on: February 26, 2019, 02:33:06 AM

The account you stated has a connected BTC address: 398v1JLr8nk87nPGinbTfFxYgHYdkxJaXT

Posted by wilburwilbur here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3152979.msg32591529#msg32591529 (archive)

The interesting thing is, the same address was used by a hero member account 77kdub here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4453586.msg40047517#msg40047517 (archive)

Above linking confirms that the account wilburwilbur is an alt of 77kdub as they both use the same BTC address.

This takes us to the trust ratings of the 77kdub which says

Trust Rating by nullius
Code:
"Merit abuse. Sent +10 to known account seller #1800324 “CasinoExpert” for a post here quoted in full:

“yo solo 1 vez al dia”

This, plus another similar +10 from another user, permitted “CasinoExpert” to accrue 10 sMerit and thus raise #1644102 “HumberWins” to Member rank. Details at reference link.

This feedback is made consistently with my trust feedback policy:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3009256.0"

It looks like a similar merit abuse which was done by the same owner in the past here. And he has been doing this from much time now.

Accusation Link by nullius:
Humber*, CasinoExpert, et al.: Alts, account sales, merit abuse, etc.

As per I see an alt account of an red-trusted member should have a red trust rating to warn about the risk of trading.
1117  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious loan to 2double0 from hacker1001101001 (marcotheminer involved) on: February 25, 2019, 06:05:45 PM
Going forward I recommend to you conducting all forum member loan-associated business on the forum. As you might have figured out by now, it would have been much more transparent had you performed the address verification bit in the loan thread where it was available for public inspection.
Yes, I too prefer dealing here on the forum itself to keep the deals public and open to all if any problem occurs later. But in this case both of us wanted to exchange some images to confirm the address which was pretty easy to deal with on telegram than through forum. So I preferred contacting him on telegram and later confirmed it on the forum.

But I will try to keep all the trade related conversations on the forum in the future. Thank you for your advice by the way.
1118  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious loan to 2double0 from hacker1001101001 (marcotheminer involved) on: February 25, 2019, 01:11:54 PM
If it was discussion via Telegram, surely you can forward the messages so that an outside source can ensure the screenshots weren't doctored?
Yes, I can forward some messages confirming I chatted with 2double0 only.

@Avirunes please let me know your telegram ID, so that I could forward you the message and you could confirm it with my screenshots.
1119  Economy / Reputation / Re: Member of DT. Abuse of power on: February 25, 2019, 01:04:29 PM
Having same ID in telegram or twitter ID doesn't means that both are owned by the same person. For example: I don't know if Lauda also have a twitter with @GrumpyKitty but I can also create and try to frame Lauda like OP is doing in this case. (I don't have such intentions tho just showing an example)

Lacks solid evidence and hence this report should be held invalid.

Yes, I agree just have same telegram and twitter username do not mean the accounts are owned by same owner.

But how can one explain the coexistence of the the same DGB address on both the profiles here?

I too think the telegram conversation in the OP looks some what edited as none of the DT member will ruin his repo by asking funds to remove a tag.
1120  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious loan to 2double0 from hacker1001101001 (marcotheminer involved) on: February 25, 2019, 11:56:14 AM
hacker1001101001 sent me the chat screenshots and it checks out with he said in his previous post. He also sent me screenshot which verified the 2double00's telegram id. Hope this rules out the 2double00-hacker1001101001 part unless anyone have more questions to ask.

Feel free to PM me for what screenshots (but will check out with hacker if he is comfortable with it or not).

Thank you for confirming and helping me to verify. I hope your confirmation would be trusted by most of the people here.
