D) ask pirate about his reasons

my guess is that increasing consolidation of his accounts due to pass-throughs has led to him paying more coins for the same amount of borrowing. (i.e. it's more expensive for him to pay 7% on a few large accounts than 5% on many small ones totalling the same amount).

1102  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 02, 2012, 09:22:24 PM
a) it's 21:00
b) it's done manually
c) this week's payments have been done
d) this is the first time i'm hearing about a change in BST... going to go read about it now.
1103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: July 02, 2012, 07:25:08 AM
"Easily divisible."
Is this really a problem? If I have $1000 in my bank account, I can write checks for $700, $200, $118.27, etc....It's a feature of digital cash that physical cash doesn't have (I have to get someone to exchange it) but it doesn't seem to be a problem online.
I have 10BTC in my wallet.
I can spend 1.45743878, but you would just be able to spend 1.45.
Also, I never said it was a problem with the dollar. It is just a feature of Bitcoin which is benificial, and better than the dollar's division.

to be fair, having only 2 decimal places isn't an inherent feature of government currencies; it's simply the way banks and other institutions store amounts.

there's no reason why a pack of gum couldn't cost $0.4529839 if being paid for electronically.

i.e. the dollar's division is just as good as bitcoin's.

1106  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 29, 2012, 03:11:11 AM
I just noticed that my withdrawal and interest addresses are blank.

What do I need to fix this?

Phil

Just shoot him a pm with the address you want. Your withdrawl and interest addresses are the same so just give him one address you want. He's been very busy as of late from what I hear so he probably forgot to ask for one.

i forgot to respond to this part... when the site was originally designed i made two separate fields for interest/withdrawal addresses, so that you can differentiate the different payment types. the only reason they are the same is because the same address has been recorded in both fields.

anyone that wants their automated interest payments to go to a specific address that is different from their withdrawal address, PM me with:

Interest address: 1blahblahblah...

the default set up for new accounts will just be to record the withdrawal address in both 'withdrawal address' and 'interest address' fields.

also, i'm updating the OP with something about this.
1107  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 27, 2012, 12:25:26 AM
If not, it never hurts to PM in my opinion. Smiley

it does hurt a little; the busier i am, the slower the service will become.

i'm sure having the FAQ there is helping me a lot.

...but thanks also to everyone else for helping respond to questions here.
1108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin escrow services on: June 26, 2012, 09:06:43 AM
Thanks. If there is a dispute and no agreement in sight, will i get my money back? (Like PP does)

if we really can't reach a resolution and all avenues have been exhausted, the only fair thing left to do would be donate the funds to a charity. the seller must also be protected from buyers claiming unjustified refunds.

this is really how the site should be set up, and i must apologise again for not putting the time into the site's development.
1109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin escrow services on: June 26, 2012, 08:43:59 AM
@payb.tc: What if i deposit an amount and the seller won't deliver? Are my btc lost in escrow?

i am happy to mediate any dispute, although i haven't updated the site to specifically mention that.

1112  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 26, 2012, 01:41:14 AM

lots of pms* / lots of drama this week.

pms and drama usually go together.

2x drama because the BST delay just happened to coincide with the random once-in-a-year outage on my regular internet connection... had to search through some boxes for my emergency wifi USB that i keep for just that reason, but then it was getting poor reception because we are getting heavy rain.

everything going wrong at once, but almost back to normal.

the only thing left to do is respond to a few more PMs, but i've hit the hourly limit (of 10) at the moment, so i'll get to them soon.

what a ride Cheesy
1113  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 26, 2012, 12:49:45 AM

Auto-reinvest settings worked like a champ!  Thanks payb.tc!

You are like pirate for the little depositor!

Hrm... on further inspection the payout lists on bitcoinmax, but not in my wallet.

Anyone else?

same

all payments are on hold until i receive this week's BST payment.
1116  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 25, 2012, 11:30:56 PM
I tried my username and the address you sent me as the password to log in to the site but still no luck.  Can you let me know if my account is set?

Thank you.

it's not set up yet, but i'll pm you when it is.

lots of pms* / lots of drama this week.

will get everything sorted out as soon as i can.

thanks everyone!

Shouldn't the interest for last week show up right now?

BST hasn't paid yet. i don't know what the story is there, but i've only just got onto the net (connection problems, but resolved now), so i'm just going to be patient and wait for the BST payout before i worry about bitcoinmax.

So, when the interest is added to the deposit; does that mean we loose the time that the interest wasn't in there?

yes accounts have been processed now, but to answer your question, the timestamp on interest earnings will always be calculated from 21:00.

while i've now processed all the accounts, physical payments haven't gone out yet (even where it says Payment to 1xxxxxxx...).

will post again once those payment have actually been made.
1118  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 25, 2012, 09:41:04 PM
Bug report on the website: I had to log out and back in before a new deposit showed up, even though it was already on the blockchain with more than six confirms.

Damn be happy he put the effort in to make the site, and you have the option to compound continuously which is almost unheard of in PPTs... If you have to relog once so be it.

.... who was complaining? Do you understand the purpose of bug reports?

Also, Fatigue, thanks, was wondering wtf my deposit went

The re-login is a feature, not a bug. Wink

Earlier in the thread payb.tc mentioned it's to keep the site from overquerying blockchain.info.

thanks Lumpy, this is the most accurate answer to the question.

payb.tc: Does someone else have access to make withdrawals if you are unable to do so? Say in the unlikely case that you are in an accident and go to a coma for a month.

as of today, yes, including access to this forum account.

#1:  Are you serious?
#2:  If so, was the person picked a personal relationship [ie:  Somebody who can be tracked down and viciousl-- err, reasoned with]?  We were already in a chain of trust with two people [Pirate -> you], where either one can run off with the deposits and disappear into the night.

#1: yes
