installed lykke on my iphone and it asked country code to which i click but didn't really prompt any list. typed my country on the searchbox and nothing seem appearing.

I've asked on Slack because of the issue. Please close the App (double tap on home button and swipe app from the list) and then reopen again.

Fix is already made and will be available in the next release.

Lykke is one of the.....

Top 10 Fintech Startups in DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland)

(...)

Lykke (Switzerland)

Swiss startup Lykke is building a marketplace that uses blockchain technology to offer immediate settlement and direct ownership.

The company’s mission is to create a single global marketplace where any sort of financial instrument can be traded and settled peer-to-peer with second-by-second interest payments.

Lykke was founded by Richard Olsen, co-founder and former CEO of OANDA, a leading foreign exchange company.

Great news for Lykke to be on the list of Top 10 Fintech Startups in DACH. I have some shares of Lykke and I think that it is reasonable to get more. My goal is to acquire 1% of company shares this year Smiley

That's quite an ambitious goal! So we only need 98 more like you and I need a lot of more money and we buy Lykke! Cheesy

Btw: If you should be successful with that you have good changes to become the Nr 1 on my personal (and secret) "my-favorite Lykke-Investor-List" ;-)

No matter how you try to explain, every decision comes with a risk which might work out or not. Its true that if the project didn't work out as planned, then its a free labour, its also true that if it does, that might be more than winning a jackpot so anyone who want to try it out should just ask himself one simple question, which of the outcome will I be able to live with if I take the decision to join in or not. And the case is settled.

It's like investing - in this case not money but time and ability. And whenever somebody invests in something and it's a legit investment it involves the risk that it might not turn out as successful & profitable. But if - it could be worth much more than the usual labor-hour-payment.

Because of the most important question: Nobody will die ;-)

There are many different points of view, but I think you should pay the developer at least if you pay the developer, you avoid problems in the future.

My opinion!

I posted this for David Siegel. So, no payment from me. ;-)

I don't even think it needs much discussion about this. Those who are interested can contact him. Those who are not are not.

Is this a paid internship or are you just looking for free labor?

I posted it for David Siegel: https://2030.io/about/

His Blogpost contains the info now:

"This project will be paid in our future stock token, which won't be public for more than a year. All of us are working passionately to build this future. We do it to work together on ground-breaking projects. The reward of future stock is an afterthought."

so if the project doesn't work out then you would have just received free labor

ding ding ding. We have a winner.

Or if they decided to make a new company you are left with worthless stock.

I would suggest that those who might be interested contact the team and ask whatever questions might be there.

My understanding is: It's for those who see potential in the project and would like to participate. In that case it could be seen as something like an "early investment" - not with money but skills/effort/work. Those who don't want that or only would work for quick payment are also free to make that decision and stay back.

Not necessary in my opinion are "between-the-line-assumptions" it would be shady. If I would have that concern I wouldn't have agreed to post it.

1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 06, 2017, 02:21:13 PM
May I know how can I start investing in this coin ? Is it through ICO that I can have some Qtum coiin ? Just like the others I see a lot of potential in here and I to be part of Qtum so I want to buy some of it ! Will i buy it thru  ICO or thru exchanges ? thank you for your response Smiley

Plan seems to be to start the ICO on March 1:

Qtum Update:  January 28th, 2017

It has been a few days since we gave a status update, so we would like to give an overview of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Recently, we have begun work on a new website.  That should be ready in about 3 weeks, until then, we will continue to use the current one (https://qtum.org).  The section where we list our Angel Backers has been updated, we will reveal more names shortly once we have approval.  We plan to discuss with our Angels why they decided to support our project, and what they expect from our team in the future.

The Qtum Crowd Sale will start on March 1st.  We currently have enough funds to last until the sale ends on April 1st.  The Crowd Sale will be hosted by major Chinese exchanges, which will be announced in February.  There will also be a direct sale that is done on our website.  The concrete information about the Crowd Sale will be announced in our business whitepaper prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers.  The technical whitepaper will come out mid-February.  The draft section that we released a few weeks back was from the last revision of the whitepaper, so that portion will be completely redone for the new version.

On the Press front, we have done a decent job gaining  traction with Blockchain industry sites.  Our focus right now is engaging with the mainstream press.  A large part of this project involves preparing a Blockchain project for real world business applications.  We already have a signed partnership agreement with a company valued at 100 million dollars USD, which we will discuss later.  We are currently in discussions with more companies, who are excited about our “Go Mobile” strategy.  This was actually the portion of our project that convinced a billionaire to back Qtum.

Our development team is currently merging the Proof-of-Stake protocol into Bitcoin Core v0.13, along with some testing of the Account Abstract layer we implemented to allow the EVM to run on a UTXO model.  The screenshot earlier of the mobile wallet is what you can expect to see once we have a working testnet.  Jordan Earls can give a better update on this later, and it’s best to ask him questions directly if you want more details.

Again, if you would like to speak with our team directly, there is always someone on Slack:

1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 05, 2017, 11:38:50 AM
I have to say Factom becomes really, really boring. Last news from the team was in December 2016. Is it time to sell?

Regarding news the dynamic in active projects is opposite to project that become or are inactive. That means:

1) The longer the time without news in inactive projects, the risk increases that there won't be any news in future and that a project simply dies.

2) The longer the time without news in active projects, the chance increases that there will be news "soon".

If a project is active or not is pretty easy to see on github, twitter, different communication-channels and so on.
All channels say for Factom: High activity. If we would use a scale from 1-10 it would be at least a 9.

Plus: The Factom-team was never so communicative with the community like the last weeks since the Slack was opened. Paul Snow gives updates about the current status, Steven Masley is very helpful whenever somebody has software issues and asks for help and so on.

My advice would be not to focus only on Bitcointalk. But even for this thread it's not really true to say there would be no news. There are just no official news while the important statements were pasted in here.

Lykke team - can you please comment on your partnership with Chronobank?

They've published a blogpost:

https://lykke.com/city/blog/2017-01-20/chronobank

(Chronobank did that, too: https://blog.chronobank.io/chronobank-partners-with-lykke-c849ffee3ad9#.qmo2vox36)

But if you have a more specific question I can forward it to the team.

they really should be posting when they can make the desktop version of lykke be ready for us. i think i'm not the only one who would be using it too. i'm not comfortable using phones due to my huge fingers, best used between the legs of some girls. hope they can publish it one their blogs.

Yes, many wait for it and it will come. Sergey said this on telegram last week:
"web-version is in development now, desktop is planned to come next"

But I doubt that they'll announce an announcement. Most likely they'll give a time-estimation once they are close enough and then keep the community informed about the progress.

Looking For A Blockchain Developer Intern

At 20|30, we are looking for an intern to help us build our definitive index of cryptocurrencies. It’s a big project. We already have about six people working on it. Now we’re looking for someone to build a multi-blockchain explorer. At first, it’s to track our multi-blockchain portfolio, which will consist of about 50 cryptocurrencies. Later, we would like to build a general multi-chain explorer. We hope to find a sharp developer who has familiarity with crypto, APIs, and blockchains in general, and who is excited about our project to change the world. Please introduce yourself in our forums and tell us what experience and interest you have in this project.

(Edit: This project will be paid in our future stock token, which won't be public for more than a year. All of us are working passionately to build this future. We do it to work together on ground-breaking projects. The reward of future stock is an afterthought. )

Thank you.

and now where are the devs, still at the parade ? but ico has really begun.

nobody responsible of the community, to precise what was the proper follow up ?

It's smart to join their Slack (http://equibit.herokuapp.com/). They are quite active there.

Quote
Frage:
