11561  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: December 17, 2015, 10:52:04 PM
There is one, that is bright future because I'm sure we'll see the value of bitcoin will be worth much in the future and the way a big company adopt blockchain technology will give good impact..

Already many Ecommerce ventures has started accepting Bitcoin as money and future is uncertain but still one thing is for sure that nothing can stop Bitcoin for replacing mainstream and technologies like Blockchain are the example.
But I wish that offline merchant start thinking to accepting Bitcoin in their payment option, I didnt wonder for right now that Ecommerce already accepting bitcoin..

I think the moment that offline/local retail stores start accepting Bitcoin, it will be the day that Bitcoin would become mainstream as this will spread the awareness of BTC better. Offline merchants equals more marketcap and higher prices! Just my opinion.  Grin
11562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: December 17, 2015, 09:45:36 PM
Using bootstrap.dat to speed up initial sync
The latest official bootstrap.dat files are only found at github. Last Block: 1186562

Downloads
Uncompressed MonetaryUnit Bootstrap (534.87 MB) [Sig]
Compressed MonetaryUnit Bootstrap  (262 MB) [Sig]

Public Key

Brand New Installations:
Before launching MonetaryUnit, move your downloaded bootstrat.dat(.tar.xz) to your MonetaryUnit datadir and extract if needed:

Windows
%APPDATA%\MonetaryUnit\

Linux
~/.monetaryunit/

Mac OSX
~/Library/Application Support/MonetaryUnit/

Then start MonetaryUnit. Qt users will see "Importing blocks from disk" along with a progress bar at the bottom left of the window. This process currently takes my SSD-equipped laptop around 25 minutes , plus additional time to sync blocks found after the bootstrap was created.

Existing Users:
You may also use bootstrap.dat to speed up syncing your existing, outdated blockchain by adding
-loadblock=/path/to/bootstrap.dat
to your launch command.

Faster Sync:
You can use the following to increase the dbcache if your system resources allow it. The bootstrapping process currently takes me 15 minutes using 1Gb dbcache.
Code:
monetaryunit-qt -loadblock=/path/to/bootstrap.dat -dbcache=1000

Once the bootstrapping is complete, the file will be renamed to bootstrap.dat.old. You may delete it, or leave it and rename to bootstrap.dat if you need to use it again.

Hey thanks for sharing these instructions! After downloading the bootstrap.dat file and placing it onto my appdata directory I have follow the instructions carefully and got synced in 30 mins! That was way faster than it was before. Thanks a lot! Now I can invest into MUE and begin my journey. I'm fully synced with a maximum of 8 connections to the MUE network.  Cheesy
11563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 17, 2015, 08:13:49 PM
Genesis Mining is supporting Ethereum cloudmining!

This is huge news guys!

By usig the promo code MOON you will get an extra discount on every purchase, the code is valid for both Scrypt and SHA-256 cloud mining hashrate at Genesis Mining. So if you still haven’t checked the service out, then you might want to do so.

We all want to go to the MOON right?

This is absolutely fantastic! I have used the promo code to buy some Ether mining hashrate on Genesis Mining. Since it is my first time investing on Genesis Mining, I only spent $40 just to be safe. Then, I will invest more as time comes by. Any idea on how long would ROI take mining Ether with Genesis?  Huh
11564  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: December 17, 2015, 07:58:47 PM
To invest it because you'l get interest on top of your savings as well Smiley

Make sure to choose a relatively low risk, safe investment though.

That is correct. And I have been doing this everyday to life a better life and have financial freedom. I only invest on assets or currencies that would survive in the long term (in this case Bitcoin). Later, I'm going to invest in Ripple, Stellar and Ethereum to serve a a long term investment towards the future.  Smiley
11565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arcade machine? on: December 17, 2015, 07:54:47 PM
This might sound crazy but do you ever imagined yourself playing with an arcade cabinet, with the ability to pay with Bitcoins instead of a quarter? (0.25 usd)

I have been looking for such machine that would serve that purpose, but I can't seem to find it. It will be real fun to play some of the arcade classics with your BTC. Don't you think?  Cheesy
such a good idea, the way to advertise bitcoin and spread it to all ages. will more fun if i could play arcade with my friend, and we just bring smartphone to go there, and pay it with bitcoin, so its also can use on any game console, like playstation (PS) or Xbox, and we can rent them with bitcoin as payment,oh world gonna more easy and fun..

Renting games for Bitcoin, huh? Seems pretty cool. If I could just rent an Xbox 360 or at least a PS3 with my Bitcoins, that would be so sweet. With Bitcoin, it is all a matter of convenience when paying with it in this case.  Smiley

P.S. I was thinking there should be a place with a bunch of arcade machines with the ability to accept Bitcoins or any other alt coin as payment.  Grin
11566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: December 17, 2015, 07:40:33 PM
I don't know if this has come up before, but I couldn't find a solution: I upgraded to Windows 10 and now DMD wallet (2.0.5.7) won't run anymore. Tried all combinations of compatibility settings with no luck. Any suggestions?

I had the exact same issue when I upgraded my version of Windows on my laptop to the latest release Windows 10. All I did was to disable antivirus software, and uninstall the DMD wallet and then reinstall it again. After that, everything went smoothly. Just make sure to backup your wallet.dat file before doing anything else.  Grin

any news about new wallet joe share some details please
special the rough concept of reworked POW and POS (if ya rework it)

what i know for sure i request is a via conf modifyable splittreshold value
XMG wallet is my worst POS income coin i have in portfolio
still it create most work of them all regarding micromanagement....

I would like to know about the new wallet too, now that the XMG client takes some time to startup before I could ever get to the main interface to begin staking. If this could be made faster, then it would be great.  Cheesy
11568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: December 17, 2015, 06:02:30 PM
Gambling.it's so excited  Smiley

Gambling could be a very exciting task, if you don't mind about losing profits playing gambling games. If you just do it for fun, then it is okay but if it is looked at a way to grow your Bitcoins, I definitely would not recommend it because you would end up loosing more than what you could earn.  Smiley
11569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: December 17, 2015, 01:26:43 PM
No i mean, just coinroll say 1 February 2016, anyone who forgets, there coins will be burned in June.
Same as Amstedam coin, price spiked after the burn.
And you believe Amsterdam coin is a success story?
Maybe would be, for the bagholders

That for example 10 litedoges will be only 1. The price for 1 litedoge is the same as 10 litedoge now.
Less coins!
This doesn't solve anything, actually. I don't really care if one coin worths 1 satoshi, or if I would exchange 10 coins for "v2.0" that would worth 10 satoshi....

If we no something this coins will die. If its not dead already.
We need to do this, think/suggest something.
If anything is needed to be done, this is making Litedoge widely "acceptable". A while ago, we were discussing of ways to make the coin widely known and adopted as a coin. This means used in transactions. There is a huge list of altcoins that only exist to be exchanged and/or staked. In my humble opinion, these shouldn't even be called "coins".

Just 24 hours ago, I made a purchase from one of the vendors that used to accept Litedoge for payment. Of course I asked "do you accept Litedoge for payment or I should send you BTC instead?" - knowing what his answer would be but I had to ask this question. Not because I wanted to get rid of several millions off my bag, but because I needed to know if it is still accounted as a coin.

Usability and acceptance are the key words. There are some coins that will never die, as long as people are using them for their needs and transactions. In fact, they only gain value over time. All the other "coins" are doomed to be forgotten after making a cycle, it may be a big or a smaller one but it would still be a cycle.

So, whoever wants to suggest anything, make it something that would make me say "wow, I want this coin because I can buy cool stuff with it".

litedoge, where the heck are you??

These are all interesting ideas, but sometimes I get to think whenever LDOGE could be a better Litecoin or Dogecoin replacement due to the fact there hasn't been any new development over the past days, or maybe even months. Is the developer active or abandoned this coin? I would certainly love to have a LiteDoge wallet on my Android device as well as stake the coins on it.  Roll Eyes

GEXP 1.3.2 b
With global registrar enabled

https://github.com/expanse-org/gexp-builds/tree/master/gexp1.3.2.b

How to register on the Global Name Registrar Contract:

1) run gexp with the javascript console enabled

Code:
gexp console

2) paste (with an edited name) the following commands:

Code:
myNewName = "MyAwesomeName";

Code:
registrar.reserve.sendTransaction(myNewName, {from: exp.coinbase});

// wait for transaction to be mined
Code:
registrar.setAddress.sendTransaction(myNewName, exp.coinbase, true,{from: exp.coinbase});

// wait for transaction to be mined (may take a minute or two)

If you get an error accessing the registrar object, you can set the variable by pasting this into the console and then trying the above commands again:

Code:
registrar = exp.contract([{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_owner","type":"address"}],"name":"name","outputs":[{"name":"o_name","type":"bytes32"}],"type":"function"},{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"owner","outputs":[{"name":"","type":"address"}],"type":"function"},{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"content","outputs":[{"name":"","type":"bytes32"}],"type":"function"},{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"addr","outputs":[{"name":"","type":"address"}],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"reserve","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"subRegistrar","outputs":[{"name":"o_subRegistrar","type":"address"}],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"},{"name":"_newOwner","type":"address"}],"name":"transfer","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"},{"name":"_registrar","type":"address"}],"name":"setSubRegistrar","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[],"name":"Registrar","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"},{"name":"_a","type":"address"},{"name":"_primary","type":"bool"}],"name":"setAddress","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"},{"name":"_content","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"setContent","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":false,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"disown","outputs":[],"type":"function"},{"constant":true,"inputs":[{"name":"_name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"register","outputs":[{"name":"","type":"address"}],"type":"function"},{"anonymous":false,"inputs":[{"indexed":true,"name":"name","type":"bytes32"}],"name":"Changed","type":"event"},{"anonymous":false,"inputs":[{"indexed":true,"name":"name","type":"bytes32"},{"indexed":true,"name":"addr","type":"address"}],"name":"PrimaryChanged","type":"event"}]).at('0x6c221ca53705f3497ec90ca7b84c59ae7382fc21');

Tada!

Now that is truly an innovation from Expanse. This is a pretty interesting feature for users for EXP, and I think this hasn't been implemented on Ethereum yet (if I'm correct) so it is one step ahead of it. Just my opinion.  Smiley

The Grand Prix is finally launched! As an apologie for a little delay we decided to allow 3 days practice before the official competition starts.
Start your engines boys and girls! Let the best racer win!

What a relief. For a moment I thought I would miss the competition but now it is great to see there will be a time for practice before the Grand Prix starts. I like the way where GMC is heading to. A very bright future awaits... Cheesy

And the price lower and lower! Oh, what a pity!

This could only mean one thing and that is to buy more at these cheap prices and then stake them. And when you least expect it, the price would go up back to its place. Just give HYPER some time as I think that good stuff will come along the way.  Grin

No risk with this coin, we are expecting real price for this coin. This coin is very cheap for now.

ANOTHER DEV multiaccount.

THIS IS A SCAM COIN DON'T BUY IT DON'T TRADE IT IT WILL GO DOWN TO ONE SATOSHI SOON

I have one real account, this one, but you guys have countless bullshit accounts FUDing us constantly. I have to admit Franko and I had to convince Dan to make this thread non moderated, but I am shocked how slimy our competitors are. Anyway, Mr Videodrome, why should anyone trust you? One satoshi? What math is that based on? You know there are less than a million coins out? The marketcap is basically nothing right now, thanks in part to people like you of course. It is only around 15k, if you think it is overpriced, you should get out of cryptocurrency, you are terrible at evaluating prices. We are also certainly the best positioned Ethereum alt and with a non anonymous team. We will be here long after the others are forgotten.

Expanse's current price is only the beginning. Take in consideration a few months more and you will see the price go all the way to the moon! Do you remember when Bitcoin s were worth nearly $0.25 and now it has turned out to be the most valuable cryptocurrency out there? I believe that will happen the same with EXP and have my hopes that it would someday surpass Ethereum. Just wait and see. Just my opinion.  Grin

I'm not a fud, i just love BTC comunity and hate SCAM like yours.

The price will go to the moon? You bloody bastards

You are ruining the community by continuing to create scams every day,go to hell

And why would you say that Expanse is a Scam? Just be having a 11 million premine doesn't really mean it is a scam. The devs have been very transparent (in my opinion) with this until now. Do you have proof of such statement?  Huh
11574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 16, 2015, 12:38:32 PM
eth-tweet - Decentralised Twitter: A microblogging service running on the Ethereum blockchain
The service provides basic Twitter-like functionality to tweet messages of up to 160 characters.
Here, decentralization means that there is no company or central authority in control of what is being published.
The system is censorship resistant in the sense that once a message is published, it can only be removed by the publisher.

https://github.com/yep/eth-tweet

Now this is pretty awesome. A decentralized twitter is certainly a great idea, but I would love more if there would be a decentralized version of Facebook. I could imagine such social network with the ability to run on Ether.  Roll Eyes

Chinese version of Cryptsy? Unfortunaltely I can't see CSC listed (maybe it's a good thing).

I think it's a good thing.  Grin

Certainly. By having CasinoCoin listed on the Chinese version of Cryptsy, it would attract major Chinese investors, as mostly they are the ones that move the markets. Still though, it would be better to move CSC to another exchange, now that there have been a certain amount of issues going on around with it lately. Just my opinion.  Grin
11576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2015, 12:31:30 PM
The best way is to start some services; like loan lending or even a web based service. This way you are guaranteed income for a longer period of time.
Since i can't develop i try to participate in contents/faucets and re-invest my coins into some cloud mining/mining operations.

That's a great idea, but like you said you will need considerably large amount of knowledge with programming, and you will need funds to maintain your personal site but you can always count on faucets and other services like campaign and saves up funds for your future project.

I know that programming is very profitable, but I'm still not pretty good at it. I only know the basic stuff like input, output and a little bit of arrays. Do you know how to become skillful at this task? I would like someone to guide me... Smiley

11578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: December 15, 2015, 07:09:44 PM
I believe bitcoin is the future. When all the fiat currencies are going down, I can see the bitcoin go up.

I think that bitcoin will continue to grow even when sometimes it takes a dip, it can take a hit and will bounce back up.

But what would be the reason for fiat currencies to fall down enough that Bitcoin is adopted? I can't think of a single reason why across the world fiat currencies would all fail. Some might fail due to internal country economic policy failure and economic downturn but it would have to something insanely radical to affect the whole world. A more likely idea is that Bitcoin and fiat co-exist for a prolonged period until Bitcoin is recognised to be a superior alternative and further infrastructure is built.

That could happen but perhaps in the future there will be a Bitcoins replacement in which it will be a perfect cryptocurrency with no block size issues, faster TPS and more. Unless, Bitcoin gets some improvements, then it will remain the most solid cryptocurrency in the world. Just my opinion.  Smiley

Can someone tell me what will the max amount of magis be??? Like what will the overall total be, after pow and pos?

Thanks,
REX
Notice your questions. I will respons on it when i'am back home.
i would like to know it also Grin

25 million total supply.
Also check the Magi paper wallets
http://paperwallet.coinmagi.org/

Magi entered the top 100 on coingecko last month.
Now upwards on spot 81!

Thanks for sharing this. I have been looking all over to make a paper wallet but until now I have been making them with the public and private keys from the wallet itself. Now my life could be much easier with this paper wallet generator. It is pretty cool. All I am doing right now is mining Magi and storing them directly to the paper wallet.  Grin

Just sot of a question while we're on this topic, I would also like to try GPU mining but would just be using one GPU on my computer, if lets say Ive set it and install cgminer script, can i still use my computer browsing the forum? Too newbie really.

I think there should not be a problem now that only the GPU would be doing all the hard work instead of the CPU. You can browse the forums in the computer with no hassles at all.  Smiley
