121  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend a useful digital currency tool on: December 22, 2020, 10:12:28 PM
So you expect us to believe somehow, you managed to find a platform [by accident] on its first few days after its creation, prior to recommending it here? Yeah, right!
- It's interesting how you "never logged back in" after creating this topic.
Ofcourse not. He stumbled upon the "happy" section and probably recommended the site just for this lol.

The site seems ok ok thus far, clean layout, surprising amount of features but I will still stick to my regulars (:

snipped
Thanks for this, he pm'ed me asking for merits based on this. Too bad I can see his trust rating and find out that he is nothing but a pre-ejaculating-plagiarizing scum.

I will give you merit instead xD.
123  Other / Meta / Re: Can't post images on: December 18, 2020, 11:43:19 PM
I really was tempted to give you a merit, but then I saw your post history and most of it was just shitcoin bounty applications, and nothing in particular that was actually constructive.

Make some good posts, and I will personally merit you. You have my word. I like believing in people, don't let me down. Dm me if i forget, but if you still keep the same quality of posting, I will just put you on ignore.
124  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is trolling? Suchmoon or mdayonliner on: December 18, 2020, 07:56:06 PM
Point 1: I wouldn't call it trolling, its just general dislike that you both seem to have towards each other, or at least suchmoon towards you.

Point 2: You don't need to create a thread to find out who is trolling, or why is person A acting like, et al. Sometimes you just have to be like: "Ah okay, if someone doesn't like me, let me ask them why and fix stuff in private. Still person A is an arsehole? Tell yourself this: 'fuck them, i can't be arsed.' ....and you leave them alone"

Life is simpler that way, try it.

126  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: make external links bright red on: December 17, 2020, 11:07:47 PM
Oh like this idea actually, you have my vote.

Oooh, along side, how about allowing only links with https and not http if it is not a thing yet? Or if not blocking http sites, a warning of some sort, or making them yellow in color?

Basic, small, baby steps that would help along the way.
127  Other / Meta / Re: Do we not nuke - Brand New PM spammers?? on: December 16, 2020, 03:48:06 PM
I got a similar gunbot spam message from this user: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2876490

But he has been banned, according to BPIP. It seems like multiple bots are out here doing this, are people still getting messages like this?

I'm not sure about it but I think the PMs does not go to the mods for to handle but to the admins. And if theymos or Cyrus have to check and delete it I guess it will take time.
Not just admins, even global mods get it as well so like 3 more people(Mr.Big, mprep, & hilariousandco).
128  Other / New forum software / Re: [SUGGESTION] Epochtalk/Bitcointalk Mobile App UI on: December 04, 2020, 09:23:37 PM
Honestly, I really like it. The whole forum experience would be so much more better and cooler if the UI ever looks anywhere near as that. Its a very different approach of experiencing the bitcointalk experience through that UI, and besides dark theme AND a mobile application was enough to convince me.

Im exciteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed for this, don't let me down.  Undecided
129  Other / Meta / Re: @Best_Change spams in the Press section on: December 04, 2020, 03:36:53 PM
Agreed. I gave up reporting in that board - there is only so many times I can report the same 5 or so accounts over and over and over and over and over and over before I want to stick forks in my eyes. If we aren't going to ban the obvious bots and chronic spammers then there is no point keeping the board open since it is simply used for free advertising by these low quality blogs and "news" sites.

Either assign a moderator to clean it up properly or just close it. Because whatever we are doing at the moment clearly isn't working.

A lot of us think the same and have asked the same but nothing has been done, and to make things worse every single piece of semi-important news gets about 10 topics in bitcoin discussion and at least one in economics and in speculation. Unfortunately at this point, that board is almost useless, all that is good for it is to scan the titles and use it as RSS feed.

Oh, and speaking of moderating that board, I have an opinion that might really be unpopular (for spammers), assign frodocooper
to it...and grab some popcorn.  Grin
It's one of the rare sections of the forum not to be infested with shitposts where we can get a 'normal' discussion, unfortunately, the moderation is inexplicable.
I am glad that I am not the only one. From the looks of it, Press section could be revamped in a day. EASILY. no shot.

Temp-ban spammers, with irrelevant links, and pin a thread with new guidelines for the board. Allow users to post links only from sites like coindesk etc. Assign a moderator for that board, and until then let a global mod handle it. Us users can report the crappy threads and clean it. It is very doable imo.
130  Economy / Exchanges / Re: RobinHood Exchange on: December 03, 2020, 10:09:33 PM
Is there any way to withdraw robinhood funds to a paypal or a non US bank account? Please let me know.

they only offer bank transfers---no paypal. in fact, it sounds like they may only support ACH transfers (no wires), which probably means no foreign bank accounts either. robinhood is only for USA citizens and residents so i wouldn't be surprised.

If you're unsure of your bank account status, please check with your bank representative to be sure your account supports ACH transfers.
Unfortunately, we can’t accept debit cards that function as checking accounts. You’ll know it’s a valid checking account if it provides monthly statements addressed to you, the account holder.
Is there, ANY possible way for a non-US resident to withdraw funds if he/she doesn't have a US bank account? Any Virtual bank accounts that might help?

I have been looking for an alternative for hours, still haven't found anything Sad.
131  Other / Meta / Re: @Best_Change spams in the Press section on: December 03, 2020, 08:44:16 PM
The Press section is an unmoderated mess. The fact that the CoinIdol News bot is still spamming their links and hasn't yet been permabanned is proof enough that no one cares about it. Time to close that board for good.
Unpopular opinion: I would love to post in the Press section, if it wasn't a fuckfest. I would love to read everything happening in the world of bitcoin all at one place. Isn't that a part of the reason why Bitcointalk was created? To have a discussion forum to discuss about everything related to bitcoin?

I would love if someone is asked to moderate that board, and keep it clean. Please. Do so. It is time to revamp that board.
132  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another trust abusing by efialtis on: December 02, 2020, 11:59:00 PM
MATE. Take a break, and hoping things are becoming good for you. Prioritize your mental health over Peloso, or anyone from this forum. Trust me, it works wonders.
It had nothing to do with Peloso or anything related to the community. I had a COVID-19 patient in the family. From 18th to 24th he was in hospital. On 20th we moved him to ICO. From 21st he was in life support and on 24th he passed away. So, you can imagine how hard it was for me to think about anything else.

The entire family is still in risk although the test result came negative for all. But still we are not safe. We will wait one more week to have another round of test to ensure that we are clean. I and some other member were in direct touch with the patient, after all it's family. You can not just stay away and watch him passed away.
Hope you guys are safe. Covid is one of the worst things to happen, and my family got tested positive a few months back as well, it sucks but everyone recovered thankfully. Take care please.

I know you have been making long posts, and your posts in 2017-2018 were constructive, helpful, informative. But now, it is different. I don't have a problem with you making long posts, I am just saying there is no need to write long paragraphs explaining abc's when you could just get to the point.

ok i repeat

FIRST efialtis aded me to excluded list
AFTER it i sent him PM

'hii
recommend you to include me to your trust list '

please NOTE again i send this pm AFTER he exluded me

anyone that not stupid will understand this
He is no longer in DT, close the topic.
133  Economy / Exchanges / Re: RobinHood Exchange on: December 02, 2020, 09:37:42 PM
That was what I was going to write myself, but apparently I missed this thread for a week and you beat me to it.

If you're looking to buy bitcoin, buy it from a crypto exchange--and Robinhood is not a crypto exchange.  I see them as more of a bucket shop for crypto, where you can speculate on the price of bitcoin (and whatever else they offer), but you never actually own the crypto you paid for.  You're basically just betting on whether bitcoin is going to go up when you buy it through Robinhood, as I don't think they offer the option to short it.

Robinhood did one awesome thing since they went into business, however: they forced online stock brokers to basically do away with trading fees, which I find amazing.  So even though I'm neutral toward them as far as bitcoin goes, I applaud them for disrupting the stock brokerages' fee structures.
Yeah no, I don't want to use Robinhood for crypto, just for normal stock trading.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'overwhelming' but I do know that trading options takes a bit of time to get used to.  I've never done it, but I do know that it can get very complex--and personally, I'd rather own a stock outright than just bet on where its price is headed.
Yeah I meant getting into stock market trading precisely, its extremely overwhelming when your 2 brain cells can't decide what to eat for dinner, let alone trade stocks.

TP, would you happen to know the answer for this:

134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should I use mixers? on: December 02, 2020, 08:27:23 PM
Yes, no, maybe. These centralized exchanges are neither open nor honest about how they reach the decision to lock an account, about what triggers their automatic algorithms, about how far forward or backwards they trace withdrawals or deposits, and so on. They obviously can't trace every withdrawal ad infinitum, but who knows how many transactions they do trace, and this number will vary between exchanges.

I would expect that a single hop between exchange and mixer, especially if you are just making one-input-one-output transactions, isn't going to make much if any difference to the likelihood of your account being locked. Probably best to find other people who are using the same exchange you are and ask their experiences.
Yeah its extremely annoying that us users can't do anything about "corporate exchanges", but guess one has to live by "It is what it is" meme.

Anyways, thanks for your input on this, I am a teeny bit more aware of how to get things going from now, and a very interesting conversation overall, thanks mate.  Cheesy

Really hope better decentralized exchanges come by, a decentralized version of binance would be really nice, but welp, one can dream.
135  Other / Meta / Re: Forum advertising DeFi totally-not-scams on: December 02, 2020, 07:34:00 PM
The site is pretty empty, they don't look to have Sourcecode and their legal link took me to medium...

Do they even have a site? I mean the ad itself links to a Medium article. There is a website for the Phore shitcoin, bagholders of which are going to get this Graphene airdrop... I think.
I need a link.

Sometimes theymos miss points when he investigate but later when he is asked to review he does. I think not long ago there was a case and he removed the advertising.
This helps? : https://phore.io/

There is no site for graphene, at least from what i checked, all I found was this:

136  Other / Meta / Re: Why isn't trust visible on every board? on: December 01, 2020, 11:33:03 PM
Agreed.  I've been forced to leave negative trust for users because they are posting self-moderated in project development.   I've never traded with them, they have never scammed, but they probably will unless I warn others.
I think it is time to change these kind of feedbacks, isn't this why flag system was created? People are out here handing trust rating like its some candy given to a kid on Halloween. Halloween is past over. Its Christmas, snow em down.

A fresh idea for a change!   However, changing readable HTML into garbage would reduce search engine rankings.  :/
Maybe search engine rankings will tank, but I don't think the administration cares all that much about it? I could be wrong, but the rankings hasn't affected anyone. And the forum is making good revenue regardless if that is the concern.

137  Economy / Reputation / Re: Re-join and hello to all! on: December 01, 2020, 10:23:21 AM
Welcome back mday!

You used to be a helpful poster, at least from what my poop brain can recall, and the forum could definitely use helpful ones. I know you also got into some drama here, and fuckall things happen. But that is okay, sometimes people make mistakes. People deserve second chances.

Now that you're back, don't fuck things up this time and stick around!

139  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reeeeeeeeee: nullius is a cunt on: November 30, 2020, 03:09:50 PM
It's somehow sad to see in which way nullius is about to ruin his reputation here.  Undecided
His technical topics are outstanding but his recent off-topic, fraudulent-themed spam-posts are totally annoying. People disagreeing with him will be hit by spam-walls immediately or even getting an own topic (of course self-moderated), getting rants and complaints about his "issues".  Cheesy

Mr. Free speech aka. Censorship has definitely too much free time.
I truly wonder what shit people must be going through if they manage to read one full post made by recent nullius. I truly miss the more positive nullius back from 2018. It was fun to see him post, and his posts were truly informative to read. Now, I don't want to browse the forum in front of other family members considering a big-ass hairy cunt would appear for absolutely no reason. yay.!

Any wild accusations on why nullius is acting so anti-nullius? We are gonna get hit by a spam wall anyways, so why ntfaot bring in some theories while at it.  Tongue
140  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should I use mixers? on: November 27, 2020, 10:45:58 PM
Also, does binance prohibit its users from using mixers and such??

we need to make a distinction between binance.com and its more tightly regulated fiat exchanges. there was a highly publicized case in late 2019 where a binance.sg (singapore) user had his account frozen for sending coins to wasabi wallet and engaging in coinjoins. in response to all the drama, CZ published a blog. if you read between the lines, he is saying binance.com is unregulated and as such, doesn't engage in the same practices:

Quote
As a user, you have choices:

-Use a regulated exchange knowing there will be AML checks running in the background, similar to banks. Please make sure that you're following the laws wherever you reside when it comes to crypto trading. It will save yourself and the exchange a lot of trouble. Moving from one exchange to the next won’t help.

-Use a non-regulated exchange, knowing that there are risks here too. Choose your exchange wisely.

if you look in binance.com's terms, they don't mention mixers or coinjoins. i'm not aware of any issues there yet.

I have recommended LocalCryptos to multiple people because I know its P2P, but is it actually actually good?

in terms of liquidity, it's definitely not like LBC was back in the days, but i've had nothing but good experiences on localcryptos. it's the only place i've been able to find p2p cash trades for the last year or so.
I have recommended LocalCryptos to multiple people because I know its P2P, but is it actually actually good?
Depends what criteria you are judging it by. If you judge it by how quick it is to make a trade on a centralized exchange such as Binance, then no DEX will ever be better. However, I do like LocalCryptos and would certainly call it a good DEX. They have a nice escrow system in place, which rather than using multi-sig uses a smart-contract like script which allows parties to share secret codes which each other offline or online to be able to sign the release transaction. You can read more about it here: https://blog.localcryptos.com/how-bitcoin-escrow-works/. It has end to end encrypted messaging by default. It's not quite as good as Bisq from a privacy point of view for obvious reasons, but it is still a good exchange.
Thank you both, its exactly what I wanted to hear. I am looking forward to using LocalCryptos for reals for reals.

On another note, if I withdraw money from these regulated/centralized exchanges, deposit them into a random wallet, then send those funds through a mixer and deposit them into my real wallet, then my account shouldn't be banned. Right? RIGHT? I don't want my account blocked again Cry Cry Cry
