No. Mods deletes it because it's against the forum's policy. Proof or no proof.
Since when?

Sorry, I am unfamiliar with such forum's policy as I've seen some other DT members doing or have done this.

Hopefully, moderator will come and clear any doubts about this.
By forum's policy I mean the rules. What I mean here is that mods will delete any off topic post if reported by anyone, even if the post is a warning about a scam ICO in a bounty thread. Even I have seen other DT members warn about such scams, and some have been deleted and some haven't.

Honestly before anybody takes my answer seriously, wait for the mods or theymos to clarify the scenario.
862  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: July 25, 2018, 04:27:19 PM
I will add a question to keep this going.

We have seen bitcoin evolving from a payment option (currency) to an investment medium over time. Since the concept is still new , is more evolution possible ? If yes, in what forms can it be used in future.
This is a question which seeks more of opinions than facts. So doesn't actually count as a question. Will visit this thread later.
863  Other / Meta / Re: Need moderators explanation for deleted post 2 days ago on: July 25, 2018, 04:11:07 PM
<... >
The reason why your posts were deleted was probably someone reported it. And the other posts probably hadn't been reported.

Nothing should be considered Off-Topic when somebody is giving warning against scam.

Mods might have deleted it because it is just an accusation without a proof. Might be if you included the proof and challenged the tread creator to reply in Scam accusation board  then I do not think they will delete it.

The post that is deleted simply look accusation/threat without any proof and I think Mods are right.
No. Mods deletes it because it's against the forum's policy. Proof or no proof.

If a DT member is planning on tagging bounty participants because the project is a scam (or suspected scam), I'd say it's not really off-topic.  Don't know why something like this would be deleted.  Bounty hunters tend to not visit sections other than bounties, so it's not a given that they'd see anything in Scam Accusations.

Edit:  On the other hand, bounty hunters probably would still miss a warning like this, even if it's in a bounty thread they're participating in--doesn't matter what size font or color you use.  Take a look at how many sig campaign applicants miss "This campaign is now CLOSED" posts.  Maybe a standalone thread in Scam Accusations would be better anyway.
I am not against such warnings and it's a good thing that marlboroza left the warning, but when it comes to moderation, mods can't do anything but to follow the forum's policies and hence it was deleted, unless there was a whole another reason for the post to be deleted.

If the Bounty program itself were a scam, it'd be on-topic, though. IMHO. Cool
If only the forum sees from the POV that you do.  Undecided
864  Other / Meta / Re: Need moderators explanation for deleted post 2 days ago on: July 25, 2018, 02:39:24 PM
Probably because its off-topic? I mean technically it is, and if anyone thinks an ICO is a scam, it should be in scam accusations only perhaps?
Is it really off-topic? Even I didn't know that Shocked
Talking about an ICO being a scam in a bounty thread makes it off-topic, doesn't it? It would make more sense for such warning to stick to the ANN thread and its scam accusation topic. Right?

OP, you should mention notbatman and nomad13666. People should know that dumbfucks Flat Earthers exist in bitcointalk.

Alternatve: something like pastebin, but that one is still restricted to 500 kB.
paste.ee has a limit upto 1 MB for non-account holders and upto 6 MB for those who have an account. 6MB should be more than enough.
Before I start doing this, can we decide on a common format for reporting, so it will be easier for mods to check on?
Shouldn't  Welsh's guidelines be enough?
I don't have 300 reports, yet, so will join later, until then good luck with the club. Don't forget to work LoyceV's ass off on this one.
868  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: July 24, 2018, 02:40:33 PM
Friendly bump. Theymos please consider this case. Really we need more merit source to keep continue merit system. Otherwise system will dry day by day. Merit circulation decreasing recently. Need to keep fresh.
Thanks for the support, have been having a tight schedule IRL, so having little to no time to actually merit some people here. I should be able to clear my schedule in a day or two.

Are you an alt of pugman? If not, then why are you bumping his thread?
He's not my alt.

As a relatively new jr. member, I've been having trouble on how can I get merits without really begging for them as I know that is not the proper way in this forum. Thank you very much for this!! I'm yet to try these but I can already tell that this is going to be really helpful hahaha. Thank you OP!!
And why exactly are you thanking me? For the posts in the OP?

Jet Cash was suggesting a new system where that would be allowed. Passing on the spendable merit without meriting a post. See this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4619367.msg41708080#msg41708080
Right. I forgot about that.

I'd like to suggest that you should reconsider #5 and #6 on the OP. trust me on this, change them and you might have a chance at becoming a source. personally I'd advise against making you a merit source period. because I don't find you trustworthy but that's just me maybe the admin has another idea.
Thanks for looking out for me? I understand why you don't find me trustworthy, and I also know why theymos doesn't want me to make a merit source, multiple reasons actually. But that doesn't change anything, I still want to help people, and still want to spread knowledge. That is my motive and only that.

I need to do a few things first, do what I am supposed to do, inorder to make my application a stronger one. Until then, there are better people who need to be a merit source.

I know a few and I'd suggest them(none of them are my alts):
These two have way more knowledge than I do, and their intellectual capability and willingness to help makes them more than an established member.
869  Other / Meta / Re: [PARODY] The Infinity Snap. Bitcointalk edition? on: July 24, 2018, 02:28:34 PM
Please mods, nuke the shitposters.

For those interested, you people should join iasenko's club, he has much more time to contribute than I do: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4720640.0
870  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk trolls, dysfunction and all out flame wars. Guide to the scandals. on: July 24, 2018, 02:25:17 PM
Just when people think it ends here:

I have got more, bitches:

BFL staff(Pokokohua!) spamming random crap in theymos and dogie's trust walls, there is another user involved: MelMan2002

theymos received 83 negative ratings:

And dogie received 85 negative ratings:

I still can't stop laughing on these ratings, you got to hand it to him.   Grin

Anduck and Vod's case: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4415201.msg39316856#msg39316856

Quickseller's list of users who condone violence: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1614573.0;topicseen

There are cases that I don't want to post or even talk about, and just let them be as is, because its really not worth looking. Evil has taken over this forum in such bad form, that I don't even want to continue reading on it. I spent 2 hours reading trust walls on people and its not good. DT members have done so much to at least keep the forum from sinking into the ocean of scams. People have been scammed from 1 cent to 4 million dollars(at least). So, for those who think that this place is just a fucking forum to earn money, get the fuck out of here. Its really sad to see the things that people do for money.

I gathered around a lot of links, don't know if I should post them or not. Explaining them would take hours.
@xtraelv, for the cases mentioned in the OP, there are way more links, for example: A lot of people have called Vod a pedophile(including QS), and I believe there are threads about Gleb suing Cyber pinoy(?)  etc

Overall, for those who don't know much or anything about this: Don't do anything for money. Don't scam people. Just don't. Make your momma proud, at least.  Wink

All of this is actually covered in the help button on the top bar along with alternatives: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=help;page=post
Edit: Steamtyme beat me to it. Great.  Undecided
872  Other / Meta / Re: Should avatars be banned here too? on: July 21, 2018, 11:05:12 PM
Since no advertising is allowed here at all, it would make sense to also ban avatars/ hide them many avatars contain pictures of altcoins and related links below them, perhaps this should be hidden too?
You're totally misguided here. Advertising is allowed (only in signatures and avatars/personal texts, and in some threads*). However, you're not allowed to advertise in your posts.
873  Other / Meta / Re: User stats are still disabled? on: July 21, 2018, 08:03:28 PM
What kind of stats can we expect to see there?

Did this button ever worked?
I was curious about it but recently I am satisfied with the stats available, such as number of posts, time logged in, etc..
Here's an example of satoshi's user stats: http://archive.is/wxRDq

The button used to work until cloudfare was brought in and due to the numerous DDoS attacks. Refer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2609227
874  Economy / Reputation / Re: Same address question on: July 21, 2018, 03:06:03 PM
So the one and only option is get tagged? Even thats not our fault? Thats pretty bad.
No. Not exactly. It's entirely subjective, and is determined by each case scenario. If you have enough proof to prove that only you control it, you won't be tagged. Or if you're tagged wrongly, your tag might be removed.
875  Economy / Reputation / Re: Same address question on: July 21, 2018, 02:21:49 PM
You'll sign with your address and ask the other user to sign from the same address, if they failed to sign from your address it means they are not in control of your address and they would get tagged while you'll get no tag.
This can be easily misused. If alt accounts are caught using the same address, they can just say that one of their alt accounts is impersonating them and can atleast save one account in the process by using another one as a bait.
876  Other / Meta / Re: New rank idea: Bounty Member on: July 20, 2018, 11:37:38 PM
I know he is not a fan of it, but what made me think he might at least consider it for a second was his own post that I've quoted above and the fact that this is not a real restriction imposed by rank or by something like a merit requirement for a signature.
It is your own choice, you want to do bounty for an ICO on bitcointalk stick to that ....

Besides, the idea was that such a member won't be able to post it certain parts of the forum, he will still be able to read (lol, like bounty hunters are reading anything ...)
We could even have a new sub-forum, the bounty members hang-out, although I wonder who would volunteer to moderate that
The reason why theymos might not be a fan of restrictions because, he had imposed them before, and things didn't work out as they were intended to(newbie jail). And he is a big fan of free speech.

theymos has also said he is open to ideas where non-shitposting members can earn money from this forum:

BTW, if anyone has any ideas for simple things that these ex-nonsense-posters could usefully do to make money, I think that this'd be a good project right now. There are apparently quite a few people who were making money on the forum and could use guidance. Even though their past activities were not good for this forum, I doubt that they are useless in general.

Yeah, I thought it would be might encourage some users to actually read what the topic is about during the cooldown period.

In the end...whatever...I tried ... Cool
Maybe somebody will see this and say, I can do better > theymos impressed > problems solved  Grin
The cooldown period is fine, 6-10 minutes gap is fine between posts.
877  Other / Meta / Re: Watchlist bug? Missing topics in my watchlist on: July 20, 2018, 10:52:40 PM
In the last few days I've noticed a problem on my watchlist: a lot of topics are not in my list although there are some new replies in these topics.
When you make a post, there's an option in the additional options ,known as Watch this topic, you can check on and off, hence that the topic you reply to doesn't necessarily come in your watchlist.

Are they some know or new issues? Am I alone in this case?
Perhaps only you. My watchlist stays intact, no matter how many times I refresh it. And I use Chrome.
878  Other / Meta / Re: New rank idea: Bounty Member on: July 20, 2018, 10:48:13 PM
People have suggested better, much better ideas and you know the rest.

The part where you put the cruel fate, is where theymos puts you on ignore. Grin

Restrictions are a big no-go for theymos ,and if a bounty hunter member isn't able to access the forum's common sections, don't expect this idea to ever be implemented by theymos.
- goodbye post bursting, you're going to have to wait like a predator for a 360-600(?, again open to debate) delay between your posts, no matter what your rank is.
I assume, this is the number of seconds?

Honestly, I am down to any new membership rank being introduced, Legendary becomes boring after a while, as there are no real perks for it. There have been suggestions for Bitcointalk pro account(no cloudfare), Silver member account, Gold member account, and a few more. There has also been suggestion for a new rank called 'mythical'. I have suggested stuff before, and it ended up in mere ashes.
879  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: July 20, 2018, 09:57:06 PM
To avoid conflict of interest and to serve the purpose of this thread, I'll be temporarily removing actmyname from the list, for breaking forum rules. I will add him, once it seems fit,or someone is able to convince me otherwise(highly unlikely).

Bump! Up to the top you go. I am still looking forward to be a merit source. All I want is to help the users out there.
