581  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously, theymos ??? on: September 12, 2018, 08:37:49 PM
I assumed "from the front" meant "you pass your hand underneath from the front", which would be wiping from back to front.

I of course wipe from front to back, because I'm not disgusting.
It's simple. You take your hand down from front, stick it up your ass and wipe till the process is complete.

Great factoid. Bitcoin forum by the way.
582  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: September 11, 2018, 02:59:04 PM
This is truly a great job and review. I just would add to Lauda's overview "has a sharp tongue"  Cheesy I flighted with him/her my own couple of times and I know that I'm not the one. Add to that her/his manner of commenting can be really rough, but I admit his/her professionalism.
Flighted?

I am not gonna add words that Lauda has a sharp tongue, for people might(will) take it in a wrong way. Thanks though.  Smiley
583  Other / Meta / Re: Vote for new moderators who deserve it. @theymos please take a look. on: September 11, 2018, 01:11:28 PM
There are multiple user's who wouldn't like me to be the mod or even patroller. I am good with being a volunteer. Not good with technicality, that leaves me with two boards, discussion and economics to express my opinion. I am just reporting so I can express. And Loyce V, haven't seen the guy get involved in forum politics, like welsh and really helpful with a stable/sensible head. He deserves it.
What "users" think mostly won't matter, because they just aren't happy because things might not have turned that way. There's not much technicality in this forum, in terms of modding, you'll probably get the gist of it when/if you become a staff member. Obviously Loyce and Welsh deserve/d to be a mod, and they have had my support for quite a while now. 1 or 2 mods, won't curb down the entire spam. If mods are given more (paid)incentives, and reporters get more of non-paid incentives, then the spam is gonna go down. Otherwise, people would just moderating for formality purposes, if that makes sense?

mdayonliner ? Is this a joke ?
No. I was suggesting people who have more than 1000 reports, and I have seen them publicly revealing that. I forgot to nominate foxpup too.  Undecided

Don't you have to know just a little bit about crypto to be a mod on a crypto bitcoin forum ?
FTFY.

Not necessarily though. You think all mods have a diverse knowledge of how bitcoin and crypto works, equivalent to the level of knowledge that achow101/gmaxwell/nullius/theymos/other geeks possess? It depends on which board they moderate, and it depends on how their judgement is based.

The guy's a joke who's only good at kissing asses in meta. And yeah, giving mod powers to a guy everybody hates would be a great idea lol.  Roll Eyes
Idk about hate, I don't give a shit about it, and I am not somebody who gives people power. Who do you think I am? Odin?  Shocked
No one nominated them. Someone mentioned iasenko is much busy he can't spend much time so I exclude him. Btw it's look like theymos will not reply here.
Ref 1: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5023985.msg45391692#msg45391692

Its alright though, you might have missed it, I am not blaming you.

But I don't know if anyone is taking this poll seriously, for I was "nominated".  Embarrassed
584  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: September 10, 2018, 09:31:25 PM
Indeed. How much times I saw the same kind of posts, if I would create a topic about that and report all of those weak posters the thread would be veeeery long, so long that it would be boring to read, cause of the most of reported posts would look as combination of hundreds of "interesting project".
What is the target of all those people who never will rank up with such kind of posts?
Are you trying to shitpost in a shitpost "reveal" thread? That's some daring level of irony.
585  Other / Meta / Re: Partially decentralised moderating on: September 10, 2018, 09:02:34 PM
Not the best idea, tbh. People would just report 200 posts, legitimate or not, and delete something that's very crucial, abuse their powers, and add more work to admins, for restoring purposes.

Centralized moderation is better, for this forum especially. We only have a few mods, which isn't great, but its not bad either. We could have mods assigned to each and every board, and have patrollers and global mods to help the other mods. We Admins, could even have a new mod type, given higher power than the normal mods, and lower power than global mods, for managing an entire board(like board number 1). The forum's way of moderation is bad. Things need to change, but I doubt if it ever will.
586  Other / Meta / Re: Vote for new moderators who deserve it. @theymos please take a look. on: September 10, 2018, 08:55:55 PM
I have the least number of reports in comparison to everyone else in the "nominees".
I have to ask what's probably a stupid question, but how can I tell how many reports other members have made?  Is there a way to do that?  I know how to view my own number, but I've never seen a link to any statistics on anybody else.
Nah.. no way.

I would have thought that I had the fewest.
Quote
You have reported 90 posts with 98% accuracy (82 good, 2 bad, 6 unhandled)

and I don't agree that the bad ones were bad either. Smiley
I am probably with the second least reports:

Quote
You have reported 122 posts with 99% accuracy (107 good, 2 bad, 13 unhandled). Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.

In all honesty, kudos to all the users who have reported more than 300 posts. Like, dedicating time to something that has no return personally, and yet doing it,is not something everybody does.

OP, how long is the voting for? Not that it matters, but just curious.
587  Other / Meta / Re: Vote for new moderators who deserve it. @theymos please take a look. on: September 10, 2018, 03:40:04 PM
Come on chipmixer campaigners, now is the time to prove your shilling skills. Prove that you're better than QS(at shilling) and abuse this vote, and make all the 5 chipmixer shills in the nominees, a mod, lol.
Jokes all aside, I have the least number of reports in comparison to everyone else in the "nominees". If I ever become a mod, I'd be a living hell for the shitposters in that board. I'll mostly go on a nuking spree, and delete the unnecessary posts. I don't really report because it's double work. But when there are better reporters, I think they deserve to be a mod more than me.

A few members are missing out, especially Krishanapramod, mdayonliner, ,xtraelv, Lafu, iasenko(These people more than 1000 reports IIRC).
588  Other / Meta / Re: Please Delete My Account on: September 09, 2018, 10:25:40 AM
And the forum should have this "feature".
They did, in the initial years. It was removed later on for reasons.
589  Other / Meta / Re: [New Feature Idea] Saving avatars - new forum, or current SMF on: September 09, 2018, 03:56:58 AM
I would like if we could upload avatars directly from an website than going to the website downloading it and uploading it.. Too much time consuming if you ask me.  Undecided
590  Other / Meta / Re: I can't access topic in altcoin - need moderator on: September 08, 2018, 03:30:53 PM
I don't really know, I opened scam accusation against them yesterday, so somewhere between yesterday at 9 PM forum time and, well, now.
I don't see any airdrop thread or them asking for people to post to get paid anywhere.

So the next possible reason for the thread to be thrashed is:

- Plagiarized content(which they are accused and proven guilty of)

I found nothing else after that.
591  Other / Meta / Re: I can't access topic in altcoin - need moderator on: September 08, 2018, 03:04:14 PM
There's only two reasons I can think of, conducting an on-forum altcoin giveaway or incentivizing people to post. That's probably why it was thrashed.
Besides, if this was the reason, topic starter would be banned, right?
A temp ban, yes. The topic starter isn't temp banned, he made a post today, unless he was banned after that, highly unlikely though. When was the thread thrashed?
592  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated thread initiative. More work for us, less for the Mods. on: September 08, 2018, 03:02:49 PM
Here's what you can do if you're concerned scammers would make non-self moderated thread into a self moderated one. If threads are created in discussion boards, then its good to have a self mod option, its not good however in most of the Marketplace threads.

People should also have the ability to convert threads to self mod in specific boards and not all of them. Problem solved.

594  Other / Meta / Re: User nominated names of possible moderators for forum. on: September 08, 2018, 01:21:19 PM
What happened to mitchell?
I was wondering about that too: he's still Staff, but no longer listed as Moderator on any of the Dutch local boards.
He is probably a patroller now, because he is not the mod for Project Development too.
Some people on the list aren't active enough or they are a little too biased to be a mod.

I'd also vote foxpup, he's an Active reporter. TheQuin and TryNinja know a lot about the forum, so wouldn't mind nominating them either.
595  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shapeshift Membership on: September 07, 2018, 11:57:47 PM
Why not use Binance? They don’t require KYC (at least for now and for < 2 BTC exchanges). It’s been some time since there was good no-register fast exchangers.
Don't yell at me but I find their UI to be very ugly.  Embarrassed

And I don't remember my credentials that I registered with. I gotta figure that out first. Even though binance moved to Malta, they will just come out of nowhere and ask for KYC, its been a thing for more than a while now. I am too damn adamant to get used to it. I need a crypto-therapy.

Can some asshole please create a non-register quick transfer exchange, that doesn't do things like changelly and shapeshift, and just be a good exchange, for once?
596  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: September 07, 2018, 11:52:41 PM
Sorry lads, don't yell at me,I am back. And I got a question.

Question: What is BIP 174? (Its gonna be out for bitcoin 0.17.0 version)

Hello boss, Is this Q/A still available for the Answer? And If it's not Any way for make merit's or something to learned about your thread? Seeing your thread about bitcoin makes me amaze for someone who really devoted to bitcoin.
Hello employee, did you do the reports I asked you to do? I didn't get any, and you're fired. Get your filthy ass outta here. </sarcasm>

Don't post for merit dude. Just post about what you like and what you know, with some common sense. That said, whatever you need to learn from this thread, is there in this thread.
597  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Discussion and Suggestions on: September 07, 2018, 11:32:52 PM
  • Mod Approval of Marketplace Threads - this one I list first because I think it's the most important one. Without this, my other suggestions don't make much sense. Each and every Marketplace thread has to be approved by a mod, otherwise, it won't be posted. I realize mods are people too, but I think a lot of people and high ranking members would be happy to be mods for free OR they can be paid out of my next suggestions:
Um..no. People will abuse this, just to annoy the mods. There is more to it, other things can happen too, and is not required. People may come here, bitch about how mods ruin lives, just like merit. And there are 26 mods(totally), the workload is already unbalanced, if I put it nicely.

  • Paid Marketplace Membership - I realize a lot of people will be against this, but I think a symbolic sum of $50-$100 a year to be a Marketplace seller would weed out at least the low-effort scammers and spammers. If you're a serious seller, it pays itself quite fast. Also, you're literally advertising on the forum, just not "officially". That should cost something.
This is actually not bad. But then again, people will abuse this too. People who sell illegal cracked versions would make shit ton of money, and would easily get into this too. But not a bad idea, could be implemented, but will it?  Roll Eyes

  • Paid Marketplace Threads - now this can be a separate solution OR it can even be implemented along with the paid membership. What this means is 1 service - 1 thread, around $20 per thread I think is a fair price and will help keep sellers and services organized(myself included).
This is not the best idea, isn't the worst either, but is unnecessary. I get why you want this to be there, some may like this, some won't. I wouldn't mind if its there or not. Might be a pet peeve for a few members.

But the thing is, theymos doesn't even want donations, this would be a headache for him, to manage, to account all of this, so don't ever expect this to happen,or wait till 3018TM for the new forum which was supposed to be out in 2014.
598  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 07, 2018, 11:13:03 PM
We haven't lost bitcoin discussion, not yet.

I see a lot of good posters(my chipmixer alts obviously, no one else) and franky1, anonymint posting there.

I would love posting there, but here's the thing, I don't want to fuck my brain up. We could have some strict moderation there, but that's not gonna happen. So cool...just let spammers shit post, let the good posters leave one by one...and yeah..wait for satoshi to hit the nuke button that destroys the stupid thing that's called bitcoin, and let the true bitcoin aka Bitcoin cash take the lead, rename the forum to rogerverisgreatsatoshisucks.org ..

</sarcasm>
599  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shapeshift Membership on: September 07, 2018, 11:07:05 PM
What the..... Jesus christ, can we an exchange which doesn't do fuckall crap like this, PLEASE? Might as well go to trading stocks, if I wanted to experience same, if not worse than what stock exchanges have you deal with.

I had a problem using Shapeshift for some time, and I stopped using it a month ago, but what will happen to the wallets based on Shapeshift exchange?
I am deadass curious about it too.

you can try:
 - https://flyp.me/: native Segwit support, exchanges of less than 1$, and without BitcoinCash Smiley
 - https://www.shiftex.io/: I tried it once and worked fine, I do not know the current situation
I have honestly never heard of these exchanges, but I would take your word for it. No BCH gives an extra confidence.

flyp.e only has a reddit subboard, and shiftex doesn't have that either.

Not to mention shiftex is literally redirect website to shapeshift, changelly, and evercoin(God knows what this is).

Have a look:

Changelly fucked up too, cool. Awesome. So now...I go and trade in an exchange who no one knows. Shut up and take my money, unknown exchange.
600  Other / Meta / Re: Question about thread reporting. on: September 07, 2018, 10:19:25 PM
Its better than straight up deletion in most cases. Not all threads that turn into a spam fest are worthy of deletion in my opinion, because they do have some decent discussion. I'll only remove threads that are completely trash. I'm not sure if moving them to a archive section would be better than locking though.
No, I am not asking for it to be moved to archival, it would make more sense, but if users have the ability to archive threads within that board itself, would make things more easier. Maybe not, I don't know.

I have a question, what should a reporter do,if the thread topic is a decent one, but spammers ruined it. Should the OP be reported or the spammers, especially if it is a megathread?
