I would like to introduce myself completely new to this forum. I actually know very little about this forum. how do I put my role in this forum?
You have already posted topics before you intensified your focus on reading and learning because it is possible that the topics you've posted may not be able to continue responding to their discussions if a question arises.

Before you make your goal to post here to benefit others, you must be familiar with the information and benefit yourself first with sufficient experience so as not to present yourself as a new member after spending a long time here.

The forum contains a huge encyclopedia of information, instructions, advice, and important basics on many crypto-related topics. You should devote your time to viewing as many of the topics as possible that contain important discussions. Over time, you can participate in these discussions and position yourself as an effective contributor to the forum among many of the elite members, and then post topics as you wish, but adhere to the rules of the forum and the rules of each board.
If you don’t have the patience to read and understand every topic that is posted in the forum, you will certainly find it hard how to completely absorb the insights and new ideas from the forum. Just take your time. Do not rush in trying to conquer immediately the forum because this is definitely a huge one.

If I were you, focus first on the interesting topics that made you attracted and in which you have a lot to learn. Eventually, you will be more fascinated to read every thread in the forum once your eagerness to learn has fully developed. When that happens, you can easily join in a discussion where you might be criticized first but then learn a lot eventually especially from those legends in the forum.

This doesn’t sound right. I don’t think it’s emotionally smart to just cancel your marriage anniversary celebration if you had made plans (with your wife) about it. I can understand how she’d feel because you likely raised her hopes. What I can advice is that as you have decided to rather continue hodling, the least you can do is for do a little celebration. It doesn’t have to be big with a lot of food. You can light a candle and buy a drink while you guys discuss walk down memory lane and discuss future plans.
You don’t have to be lavish in your marriage anniversary celebration, a simple but meaningful one is good enough. I think that’s what your wife is only longing to have, not exactly as luxurious like you imagined. The important thing is you celebrate it with her, and let her feel that she’s loved and highly valued most especially in your anniversary day. While you have your own logic of that, but I also think your wife’s reason is more valid. I suggest set another date for both of you so you can make it up for her.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was created to reform money and provide financial freedom on: February 29, 2024, 09:59:05 PM
I think that one of the reason why bitcoin is created is to prevent a third party take or have a control over it like banks and other similar third parties. When bitcoin become known worldwide, even banks now are even finding a way to take part into it like making a wallet that requires you to submit personal documents before you can use the wallet. To tell you honestly, it already happened in my country. There are several companies have made a wallet and being regulated by the central banks. One of it is privacy and yet even some casinos now ask KYC.
Bitcoin is created so we can finally gain freedom from banks and other financial entities. That way, we can take full control of our funds without having interrupted by the government and monitor our finances through banks. This is probably the reason why it’s hard for the government to legalized and accept bitcoin as a currency since they have been thinking that bitcoin will personally overtake fiat and will go against fiat currency system, but in reality only unknowledgeable about bitcoin think that way.
124  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What traders must know on: February 29, 2024, 09:11:20 PM
Doing trading is not easy; it takes time to set aside for it; there are no shortcuts; everyone has to go through the basics first. And there is no need to hurry, because the capital you will use for trading here in cryptocurrency or bitcoin may be ignored immediately.

Just don't give up; continue what you started here in the crypto space. I also studied it for several months, and I did not immediately understand and get the meaning of studying it here in the field of trading in the crypto business.
Trading is not like chasing profits and a get rich quick, it certainly follows a long process and if you’re weak, you’ll never manage to overcome the risks but if you’re strong and confident enough, you will win your trades despite of the highly unfavorable market condition. So take your time to learn as there’s no shortcuts to success. While trading can make you instant rich in the process, it can also leave you pocket empty and homeless if you are not patient but chose to be always greedy to find profits despite of how volatile and unpredictable the market is.

Winners of the competition and promotion have probably enjoyed the current bull run. Hopefully, they didn't cash it out right away after receiving it, as the price of bitcoin has increased a lot in the last few days. Congratulations to the winners! I guess no one has claimed to be a winner here on the forum, as I haven't seen any posts about it.

Let's enjoy the bull run now, bitcoin is currently at $62k, new ATH incoming!
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 29, 2024, 11:16:27 AM

I don't know that Nambatac was already with the Blackwater.

Nambatac leads Blackwater past Meralco

Quote
OACH Jeff Cariaso was expecting Rey Nambatac to make an immediate impact on his new Blackwater team.

The former Rain or Shine guard did not disappoint, racking up a double-double and leading the Bossing to a 96-93 escape over Meralco Wednesday at the start of the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Nambatac finished with 27 points and a career-high 10 assists and laced his sterling performance with a defensive rebound in the dying seconds that prevented the Bolts from completing their fightback from a 67-86 deficit.

Not only Nambatac but also James Yap, both came from Rain or Shine and are now making this young Blackwater team exciting to watch. Hopefully, they'll be able to continue their good start. After all, this is an all-Filipino Cup, so they can showcase their skills to match the best in the PBA or the giant teams. According to reports, fans are eager to watch even during practice just to see James Yap, so that's the kind of champ he brings to the team.

Tomorrow we have 2 games.

DYIP vs Converge and Northport vs NLEX. (These are good match ups, no team here that is heavy favored, so we will be having a hard time to choose)
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 29, 2024, 10:18:13 AM
What a comeback by the Lakers to beat their rival in Clippers.

Yep! the battle of LA never seize to amaze me. I thought the game was done when the Clipps lead 21 pts in the 4th. Lucky, I didn't left closed the live streaming because I still had a little hope for a comeback as LeBron was hitting 3s early in the 4th and are heating up, that actually gave me a thought of a comeback if he'd lead his team and take over offensively, which eventually he did. Not only that, he was also guarding Kawhi effectively.
Impressive and a much needed win for the Lakers as they have like 5-6 games against top teams in the West and a couple in the East in their next 10 games. They must need to win 80-90% of these games, otherwise it would be harder for them to come back and try to sneak in the 8 seed.
The Kings sits on the 8th seed currently which is way ahead of the Lakers who needs to win at least 5-6 consecutively, considering the Kings may lose some of the games they have ahead.

The Lakers outscoring the Clippers by 23 points in the fourth quarter to complete a massive comeback was a sight to see. The battle of Los Angeles indeed did not disappoint. LeBron had a great night with 34 point but I think the difference in the game was that Paul George did not play with an injury. Otherwise this game might have gone the other way.

I think the Clippers have proved that they can win without Paul George though, so I wouldn't say that his absence is not the factor here. They even built a 21 point advantage and Lakers looking to lose this one already. But the Lakers specially Lebron doesn't want to lose this game, one of his best game so far. And he shows his basketball IQ here, and he goes where he wants, force a switch with Theis and then take advantage of the big guy to either shot or pass the ball to Rui.

And most likely it's the pride itself, of Lebron, taking matters in own hand, enjoying the one on one with Kawhi. It was a great play by the Clippers in the last 9 seconds, perfect execution it's that Kawhi missed his favorite mid jumper, probably has to do with Lebron's defense on him.

The Clippers don't have the kind of consistency in the game. I've seen that kind of scenario many times where they are up, and then later, they'll give up a big lead, or it goes the other way around. I think their 2nd unit is not that strong, even though they already have Westbrook, and PG was really important, especially against the Lakers team who are healthy at the moment. The good thing about the Clippers is that they were able to build a good standing now, so despite this struggle, they are still likely to make it to the playoffs.

As per the report, there is no definite time as to when he'll return, but the word "soon" guarantees it.

128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Closing in on 60k, Again! on: February 28, 2024, 11:06:12 PM
Bitcoin is playing in a quite different way than in previous history. We have always seen Bitcoin reset before a mega pump. But this time we are witnessing the rapid growth of Bitcoin. Today we experienced a yearly ATH hit of $64K and a dump again as well. I have seen Coinbase users encounter a bug and see zero balance on their account. That's why people became panicky and dumped from $64K to $60K again. However, Bitcoin is still pretty strong due to ETFs and new investments.
Most likely, after this rapid growth, a price correction might follow. So there is still nothing new with how bitcoin moves. It might take differently but it will still go back to its basic. The important thing here is we don’t panic after a price decline. Old investors might not see any problem but with new investors, this will really put their faith for bitcoin into test, but end up selling earlier so they can avoid too much losses. Volatility is bitcoin’s nature, so expect that we will witness price fluctuations any moment from now.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing on: February 28, 2024, 10:26:34 PM
I ask because he also mentioned that he will never allow a CBDC. I reckon if he is lying about his change of stance on bitcoin he might also be lying about his stance on CBDC. It might imply that he is in support of CBDC.

Donald Trump, currently seeking the Republican presidential nomination, pledged that he would “never allow” a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Read in full https://www.theblock.co/post/273273/donald-trump-says-hell-never-allow-cbdc-issuance-if-elected

I don't like several things about Trump's personality but overall I prefer his policies to the mummy's. In this particular case too: I prefer a president who says he will not allow CBDCs and expresses a positive attitude to Bitcoin. In general I don't trust politicians and their promises, but if he says this he will surely act better than the one who is already implementing CBDCs.
I cannot tell for now if he’s actually true to himself about embracing bitcoin. Politicians may be deceiving with their promises, and they will do everything just to make them real for us. But if what he says about bitcoin is true, surely that will make him the bitcoin community’s favorite. With the unstoppable progress and growth of bitcoin, I guess any president will find it hard to stop his people from embracing bitcoin, and probably that’s his realization as of this moment.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Interviews] with sport gamblers on: February 28, 2024, 03:10:38 PM
Below a series of questions, feel free to answer all or only part ...

1. When and why did you become interested in gambling // gambling with crypto currency?

I was already gambling even before I started using crypto; I just gamble more often once I fell in love with crypto, as at the same time, I made money from it. So, I have already had extra funds to gamble. And crypto gambling is easier than fiat gambling; back in the day, the anonymity was very valuable, unlike now that KYC is a pain in the ass for most.

Quote
2. What is your opinion about this forum section (gambling / gambling discussion)?
I think they are helpful. With a big number of members in the forum and we also have a lot of gamblers, if we keep ourselves involve in the discussion, not only we will learn the game but we will also learn how to become more discipline.

Quote
3. Are you still gambling with FIAT money? What are the pros/cons for gambling with crypto/bitcoin?
Yes, since it's easier to gamble now with fiat using our popular digital wallet. Gambling with crypto now is still fine with me, though sometimes the fees are high and sometimes casinos require KYC already, but it's where I started so I'm supporting it.

Quote
4. What is your best and your worst result from gambling activity?
Best is when I win some big parlay bets. Worst if I won't be able to enjoy the win as I'll gamble it again and sometimes I lose control, you know chasing bets always kills us gamblers.

Quote
5. Did you feel craving for betting? Have you ever had a gambling addiction? What is your maximum tipe without bet?
Been there, done that. you mean time?.. Maybe a week...

Quote
6. What is your favorite field for betting? What is your "common bet" (likewise over 2.5, both team score... etc)
I'm betting on basketball, so not really into over/under goals, I think that's on Soccer.
Quote
7. Did you will recommend anyone to gamble?
recommending a sportsbook to be particular since my friends are gamblers too, but they are quite new in crypto, so I'm giving them alternative.

Quote
8. Have you ever bet against your "favorite team"?
Most of the time. I read some article that betting against the public produce success, so I tend to follow it.

Quote
9. Did you think gambling is an hobby or a job?
For now a hobby maybe, but I'm trying to make it as a job, provided I'll earn the skills I need to.

Quote
10. Would you have the same commitment even without the signatures?
Sure thing, I'm still gambling without signature but would probably not so active in the forum.

Quote
11. Tell me something that you would see in gambling forum section or a new option that is still missing from bookmakers
Can't tell any. I guess they already have what I wanted.

Quote
12. What you think are the most useful gambling topics and why
The sports betting topics, when posters are discussing the team to bet, it's really helpful as we can follow those posters that are good in predicting the outcome.

13. other to comes feel free to make yours...
I guess I posted it all. just want to say thank you for this thread, and I'm happy to get interviewed. Smiley
131  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 28, 2024, 02:12:40 PM
There's no problem with gambling on a daily basis as long as everything is under control. For some, gambling is just entertainment, so if they are gambling daily, that makes them happy daily. People should stop judging those who gamble constantly as irresponsible, since gambling is created for entertainment, and it always depends on the gambler himself if he will stay disciplined or not.
For sure, if the gambler can put things under control then there is no issues here, but the problem here is that, out of many only few gamblers who gamble on the dialy basis would have things under their control and without these regular visit of online or offline gambling site gradually turning them into gamble anddicts and mostly happens without them even noticing it.
They won't notice it because they won't accept that they are already addicted to gambling. We are responsible for our own actions; if we get addicted, that's our fault. I don't see gambling addiction being blamed on the gambling industry because, just like in the normal world, there are people who violate the rules. So, those addicted to gambling violate the principles of gambling. As long as not everyone is addicted, it's not a serious issue. Besides, casinos provide revenue to the government through taxes, so they are a big help.

Betting strategies may differ, but as long as the outcome favors you, you should stick with that. Most of the time, the only problem is ourselves. Although the strategy is already perfected, the lack of implementation could ruin it, and that is because of our sensitive emotions.
Even with our strategies and those points that op listed, games will still go they way they want, it will even shock you to know that most of the times I win in sports betting, I pick a team to win base on current players in their and the manager the team has and not looking at what they have done in the past regarding H2H meetings.

It would be nice if you could prove that you are winning most of the time. Maybe it's time to create your own thread so you'll be able to help people win in sports. I'd like to see your winning rate and how it will translate to profit. I'm just interested, as I'm not that consistent with "winning most of the time."
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is rising faster and faster, It is time to Buy Bitcoin ! on: February 27, 2024, 11:59:24 PM
Bitcoin price is rising faster and faster, It is time to Buy Bitcoin now before it is too late !

Is bitcoin price going to be above the $100 K end of the next 6 months ?

If it does, its mean it will cross  $150K by 25 December 2024.
Yes, the price of bitcoin is very impressive as of today. Lucky are those who have invested when the price was still in $25k-$30k as they can decide to  sell their coins and gain massive profits already. However, the opportunity is still here if you are planning to enter the market and invest in bitcoin for long term. As long as bitcoin price performs positively, there will always be opportunities for those who wish to invest in bitcoin.

Now, talking if it’s going to reach $100k in 6 months. Yes it’s highly possible but we can’t also deny the fact that bitcoin price could suddenly crash and eventually we will witness another price decline. Bitcoin is highly volatile so better expect the unexpected. Same with if it will go above $150k by December, that depends on the price status of bitcoin that time and if it will still be making a consistent price increase in the market.
133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 27, 2024, 11:37:51 PM
Exactly. One is supposed to lose to give way for the other to win, and that is not only for trading but even in gambling as well. If all traders are going to lose or win, I think the motivation will not be as high like now.
This is true, the market is with losers if there are winners and vice versa. And that means that whenever we win, there are losers on the other side that are probably on a rage because they've lost their trades.

However, one thing is certain, if you don’t want to trade and lose a huge amount, then don’t trade with a large capital. You can still be at loss but you can always chose to reduced or minimize your loss.
The belief that the bigger capital, bigger profit is true but the risk is also higher. Compared to having an affordable amount to trade and then you can take it once you lose is just fine. But see to it whatever works for you must be done.
Losses will certainly happen whether you invest with small or bigger amount of capital. The challenge here is don’t trade unless you are ready. You should be prepared in terms of unstable market conditions, and be prepared to control or manage your emotions when your trades do not cooperate with you. Traders are always bound to lose and be in profits at some point, but you can always redirect yourself to which you think you will mostly profit, even if it means leaving trading and focus on long term hodling.
134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 26, 2024, 11:59:39 PM
in terms of risk between short term trading and gambling is almost the same, but you equate gambling and trading is wrong, because trading requires skill, different from gambling such as dice, slots which do not require anything to play just in one click you can see the results with fast, if your trading prioritizes skill over luck
Some gambling games also require skills more than luck. But since the casino has always an edge over its players  and the casino house should always be on the winning side, the chances to gain profits is still low. Although some are winning exceptional amount of profits, but eventually when the gamblers stay betting, the casino will also get it back gradually until those profits have turned into zero.

However, in trading, skills and right strategies will always dominate a positive outcome. If you are a well-experienced and an expert trader, the chances to stay profitable is certainly high, but also since the trading market is quite uncertain and you have no idea how the prices of those coins move in the market, at least you still need quite of luck to stay successful on your trades.
135  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 25, 2024, 10:57:13 PM
I do not bet often but when I do, my strategy is done in such a way that I will be at least sure of a way. I do most of my sports betting in obscure football leagues or cups in Armenia, Croatia, Poland, Asia I usually prefer to do half-time/full-time, under/overs, and both teams to score. I have been lucky in these leagues than in well known leagues. And I use less than 10% of my income. I do not bet every other week. At lease 6 times in a week(not fixed).

Do you mean you bet at least 6 times in a week. If so this is more like saying you bet everyday. Well, strategies that work for you may not work for others. For me, are bet mostly on championship days and weekends. I believe these are days I can get good he's with good odds that can give me maximum returns.
I have seen someone for bet all days of the week, and he still managed to do that responsibly since he follow his lay down principles at all time, this is where the main thing comes in, because i understand your fear with someone who gamble on daily basis with the tendency of getting addicted or lose much more than he or she can afford to lose and for that one need to give space abs take a vreak in between games admin day to cool off.

But when you can handle all with being under so much uncontrollable pressure is key to attaining a satisfactory gambling experience most especially when you gambling for fun and not for the winnings, based on that you won't be forced to chase any direction.

136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 25, 2024, 10:01:13 PM
Naoya Inoue being one of the best fighters has really invigorated Japanese boxing which is having a great moment with multiple champions across several divisions. He is having a similar impact to what Pacquiao had on Filipino boxing. This card was a great showcase for these 3 Japanese fighters who defended or conquered championships in impressive fashion.

Jerwin Ancajas was once an exciting young champion with very high expectations but sadly he did not live up the hype and has had some disappointing results in recent years. He lost by knockout for the first time ever and it is looking like his days of being considered one of the top challengers may be over.

For Takouma Inoue, it would be great to see him unify against Nakatani. It’s the best fight that can be made in this division.

I really thought Ancajas had chance over Inoue because of his experience. But looking at the fight, seemed that Ancajas' camp didn't have a very good preparation for this match. I was also hoping that an upset could happen but to no avail. I don't know what's next for Ancajas but definitely, Inoue will have more opportunities on the table. He can be following the footsteps of popularity of his brother, Naoya. I am guessing the immediate family of these 2 Inoues are having their good moments in their country because they are both boxing superstars now.

You are not alone in thinking he could pull off a win against the Japanese, but it turned out he was not 100%, as he easily gassed out. The game plan wasn't working, and yet he wasn't making adjustments. It looks like he wanted to knock out Inoue, but unfortunately, his punches did not possess the power to make it happen. I'm not sure what's next for him, but hopefully, he will be given a chance again to redeem himself, and he still has the pride since he was a former champion, although not in this particular division.

Okay, then let's give him a chance, but things won't be easy for him anymore as his ranking will drop after that loss. If he wants another shot, he must be active and start winning. Who knows, if Takuma will not follow in the footsteps of his brother on moving up, they might meet again. But honestly, I'm not so optimistic about that, as opportunities don't come many times. Take Casimero, for example, he wasted his opportunity to stay a champ, and that resulted in him now being in a heavier division where not only is he not a champion, but he is still struggling to keep a good standing to be a mandatory challenger.
Really that hard to believe on that a boxer wont really be tending to step up and this is why its better not to expect for some rematch unless if its been fixed already.

A rematch? I don't think it's necessary for that. Ancajas looked easily beaten by the champion, so he doesn't deserve to get a rematch. He has to go back to the start and formulate a strategy to start winning. Probably, next time he becomes a mandatory challenger, he would have something more special to offer, not the way he fought as we all witnessed. Going into the fight, I think we were all hyped up since finally, we had a Filipino challenger who could possibly become a champion, but it turned out to be a disappointment.

It would really be just that depending on the negotiation. If Takuma would really be thriving on following the footsteps of his brother then it would really be that hard to place up some fight against him. Going back into the fight results then you could really see the difference about their skills and power. Lets say that Ancajas is more that experienced but when it comes to technicality about on how they do fight then you could really see the opposite.
Seems like that most Japanese fighters now are really that eating up those Filipino boxers.  Cool

I'd say he has the quickness, though moving up might affect his speed. As I've observed, he is not a heavy hitter, so he might struggle against a heavier boxer. However, it's very clear that moving up is not in the mind of Takuma yet. What he wants is to become an undisputed champion in the current division. So, we might see more fights from him, and I'm not sure if he'll successfully defend his belt in all of his upcoming fights.

Heto ang picks ko,

Lakers vs Spurs, - Babawi ang Lakers dito, -8.5 @1.72
Rockets vs Suns - Suns -1.5 @1.71
Wolves vs Bucks - Over 224.5 @1.86

Ako naman, 2 out of 3, sumablay ako sa Suns, same pala tayo ng pick. As usual, bawi bawi nalang naman yan, kaya bawi tayo bukas. 3 games lang, mas mabuti konte lang iisipin.

Ito naman mga picks ko.

Magic -7.5
Boston -6.5
Wolves -8

Talo ang magic sa point spread, 2-3 kabayan, pero muntikan na rin itong wolves, buti last minute nag run kaya na cover yung spread. Congrats, at least hindi ka lugi sa  mga bets mo.

@inthelongrun

I'm not sure what's next for him, but hopefully, he will be given a chance again to redeem himself, and he still has the pride since he was a former champion, although not in this particular division.

I just saw the betting odds for the game tonight between Gilas Pilipinas and Chinese Taipei. We thought -10 is high, but it's actually -24.5. Now, who has the courage to take that high spread? Personally, I have a little doubt about this, as it is the first time I saw the Philippines as a heavy favorite in the FIBA Asian Qualifier, and they are up against a decent team, albeit lower in ranking than the Philippines.

I might try to have some fun here; maybe I'll bet on the opposite team, as they have a very attractive x20 moneyline odds.

Maybe because people are been so hyped with past result on hongkong where they get 30 pts lead and take a win. But Chinese taipei is decent team so provably we cannot a see a same like situation on hongkong and I expect we can see a good match up here.

But for now not going to bet on either Philippines or Chinese taipei since I don't feel any excitement on this most likely we can see at the end of this sequence that Philippines would be the winner after the end of the match.

X20 money line odds though but I think for now I'm fine watching the game without placing any bets.

It would be nice if we have a head to head record for these two teams including their previous match ups so we can analyze if the line which is -23.5 now is overvalued. This is only the information I was able to search online, https://livescores.biz/basketball/h2h/chinese-taipei-19883-vs-philippines-7905

Better if we have, but unfortunately, there's no website yet that is as popular as those that record statistics in NBA games. So for now, we can just rely on what we remember about these two teams and do some further research. It may sound challenging, but it's never impossible to find information that would help us analyze the game we are betting on. At least, let's not bet blindly on this.

Based on that record, Philippines has been dominating this team but not all in a blowout win, so I think -23.5 is quite high for Gilas to cover although we've see how impressive they were as for sure no team will compete in this big league unprepared.

They look prepared, and the game is already ongoing. We are in the first quarter now, and just like the Philippines game vs Hong Kong, it's a close game.
