1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 26, 2023, 08:25:19 PM
First, congratulations to TNT.
Too many controversies and issues are happening to Philippine Basketball. This one that I'll mention is also related to PBA because it includes PBA players. Our very own Gilas seem to have not in condition and they even lack players. Some players already stated their beg-off.

They can't force players who aren't going to play. We have a huge number of players on our roster, so I think the coach should know how to utilize them and give them the opportunity to represent our country. Surely, they are hungry for this kind of opportunity.

We need players with heart, players who are willing to sacrifice just to fight for our country through this particular sport. Just like what happened to Abando, he was only benched by Coach Chot, but in reality, he is a great player. So, maybe they can start finding someone like him and give that player his moment to shine.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 26, 2023, 03:45:48 AM
I tried making a Moneyline parlay for all the favorites and ending their series but it's just x1.45 in total. Sadly.
Denver Nuggets versus Minnesota Timberwolves - Denver Nuggets (-10.5) I just love this Nuggets team and I know they will end it now. It will just be a matter of the spread if they can cover it.

Boston Celtics versus Atlanta Hawks‍ - Boston Celtics (-10.5) They gave one, but it's too obvious they can dominate the Hawks if they play harder. 3 times I won my Celtics bet and all the spreads were covered. I wish they will do it one more time.

Phoenix Suns versus Los Angeles Clippers - Los Angeles Clippers (10.5) - Clippers will probably lose but I want to see how far Westbrook would go trying to survive the series. The +10 should be enough to cover it if they will hustle again like in Game 4 even without Kawhi Leonard.

The money line parlay bet for all 3 favorites for today's game would have been lost already, Ice cold Trae and the Atlanta Hawk causing a major upset at the TD Garden.

Of course everyone would have expected Boston Celtics to close the series today, since the momentum was already on their side, but without Dejounte Murray, Trae Young and John Collins were able to force Celtics to a game 6, and with Atlanta Hawks having home court for game 6, this could go all the way to a potential game 7.

For the other 2 games, Clippers are already still giving the Phoenix Suns a run for their money, as Clippers are up by 9 points into half time, while it's just a 3 point difference game between Denver Nuggets and Timberwolves, this is the worse night to back the favorites to cover those big points spread of theirs.

It seems that none of the home teams are likely to cover the spread in today's games. The only team that has a chance to cover the spread at this point is the Phoenix Suns, but given the current state of the game, it's uncertain whether they will, as the LA Clippers are putting up a good fight. The game is very close so far, and either team could come out as the winner.

Regarding the Wolves vs Nuggets game, the Nuggets only have a chance to cover the spread if the game goes into overtime.

1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: April 25, 2023, 02:29:11 PM
Every investment is high risk especially when you invest a high volatile asset like Bitcoin,it is only better than gambling when you invest now and you wait in the long term and only sell Bitcoin after has increased in price from the moment you invested. If you want to do daily trading with it then there is nothing different from gambling as for me trading is the same as gambling because in both cases you cannot predict the future.
Both investing in Bitcoin and gambling can be profitable. However, it's harder to make a profit in gambling compared to investing, as gambling requires excellent skills to be profitable. Yes, you can also be profitable in the long run as long as you choose the right form of gambling. I'm referring to skill-based gambling, such as sports betting.

However you have taken the right decision to gamble less as in the long run this will be beneficial to you.

It's safe to say that you should only gamble what you can afford. Personally, I could spend a lot of time gambling because I enjoy it, but I always stay disciplined and not gamble beyond my limit.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 25, 2023, 01:05:16 PM
There is the factor of environment though, you can't take that away from boxers who are fighting outside of their country. Might be the weather is different, the food, the people it could contributed to the fighter and it could spell the difference between winning and losing, and who knows, there could also be some home town decision for all we know. Classic example is Manny Pacquiao losing against Jeff Horn in Australia. So yeah their talents and tools might be the same when they fight outside of their country, but there are also intangibles that we need to look at.

There are factors that could affect the outcome of the fight in favor of Inoue, but if Fulton is serious about making a name for himself in the boxing industry, he needs to endure those factors and make sure he dictates the fight so he can win convincingly. Besides, this is a televised fight, and it would be a shame for Inoue's camp if he wins while it was Fulton who clearly dominated the fight.

Just imagine, on paper Inoue is the better fighter, and yet he still gets the advantage from the referees and judges?

It's not fair boxing anymore.
1065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 25, 2023, 12:55:19 AM
Every beginners should definitely know this that everything about making an investment involves taking risk, most especially in dealing with other cryptocurrencies aside bitcoin, whereby we don't know the genuine intention of the developers, also we needed to have it in mind that everything has time a d season, we shouldn't rush or overracted in doing something, we have to put it at the back of our mind that ultimate research is needed and we should secure our investment and always make it private.
That is why in every investment we dare to risk, there should be an intensive research done and establish patience before everything puts into reality. Otherwise, it would be too risky for us to invest without through preparation and even expect huge profits at an instant. We should bear in mind that any investment takes time to prosper, and bitcoin is never an exception. In fact, for you to be able to maximize your profits, you have to patiently invest in it for years and expect positive income in the end.
1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I found my financial success in Bitcoin 1 year on: April 25, 2023, 12:24:40 AM
Almost everyone has had a successful journey when they chose bitcoin as their investment asset. Bitcoin is one of the most recommended for you to own and whoever they are in the portfolio regardless of your investment time frame. It is a very wise decision if you also accumulate it when you have income to invest. And if you can afford to hold for long-term, then I think you'll definitely get a worth it return.

But I don't think your thread matters because basically you are just presenting your enthusiasm for bitcoin investment instead of coming up with some interesting ideas for discussion.
Well, this is just a valid proof that when you invest for bitcoin, you will definitely reap satisfying profits especially if you consider it as a long term investment. OP is just so much optimistic about his goal, that’s why no doubt that he has achieved his target goals even in just a year of hodling. Though topics like these are quite common already, but I think another purpose of OP is to encourage everyone particularly for newbies to never be tempted with altcoins and just stick to bitcoin no matter how highly volatile it is.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 22, 2023, 03:27:00 PM
I am just curious about how does online casino pay for their promotion on their influencers? Where does their earning comes from? How will you get scammed when you try online casino? How can you tell that online casino is safe?
No one will suicide to build a casino unless if he has a huge capital to start it. As starting a casino would mean more advertisements and promotions to make the casino known and attract customers, which means everything needs a lot of funds so that one casino will survive and stay competitive with the rest of the casino businesses. But when the casino profits, everything goes back to the house leaving the players at loss. Same like when players at profits, the money that the casino has obtained will also be used in return to refund the players winning profits.

Well, let’s just say building a casino is never easy and is always expensive. Since you are establishing a business, you have to take an edge over the others and that will only be possible if there is huge funds that is available to cover the expenses from promotions down to the provision for winning profits. And these funds will only be returned to them if the casino will attract a lot of players, which means more players, more money to lose from them and will go to the casino profits. Thus in return, they will also use those funds if some players have luckily won significant amount.

1068  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 22, 2023, 02:54:29 PM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

You can’t properly tell it or term it as “Gambling”, as in gambling, you have to take risk and bet with your own money. In gambling there are equal possibilities to win as well as lose and that too money that is in risk. But here as you are saying, you can pick a bet for free or make predictions for free and then can win money. This can be said as contest, or basic lottery or raffle without entry fees. I haven’t personally tested the site, so don’t know what their motive of giving away free money. Willing to hear other people’s opinion on this.
Me too has never heard the site before, not until today and might be researching on it later. Well, maybe what the site’s offer is not really gambling, it’s more like just a guessing game and you make rewards after you guess it right. While in gambling, it always involves money wagering, since you have to bet and wager minimum amount and expect a win or lose in the end. Anything that does not involves with money may not be considered gambling in the first place.
1069  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essential one to new traders in Crypto currency on: April 22, 2023, 02:12:57 PM
You are right that a person can only learn when he become engaged in practical use because just knowledge cannot teach you everything sometimes practice is necessary. Sometimes individuals of crypto does not succeed and are unable to get what he wants because he doesn't have any experience but he just read about it and hear about it through which one cannot get complete knowledge. Success will be only attain when you also engage in actual field and work for it by using your money.
Most particularly for trading where an individual needs practical training more than knowledge so that he can be a good and profitable trader later on. However when it comes to losses, there is no exception to that, whether you’re a pro or newbie in trading. The only difference is that pros in trading have gained more and better experiences than newbies, that’s they have the ability to reduce the risk level of losing from trading.

1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think China is playing a double game? on: April 22, 2023, 01:52:08 PM
Yes, that is, I think China is trying to pull the rug out from under the feet of the United States, which is waging a war on crypto. This is a great opportunity for the Chinese government, the great competitor of the American economy.

I think they are trying to take advantage of the anxiety created by the US and attract crypto companies, as this way they will benefit economically and also prevent the US from controlling Crypto alone.

Unfortunately, the United States, with its hostile policy towards crypto, is helping China in its game.
At the end of the day, China will be the one left to benefit the most with crypto. So it’s a clear manifestation right now that their banning of crypto in the first place is part of the plan so that the rest of the countries will follow too. And now that US and some big countries are already against crypto, it’s now the time for China to adopt crypto and take most advantage on it. That’s how dirty the Chinese government plays the game.
1071  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 22, 2023, 01:23:11 PM
You can consider it as a scam if it did something that is against the law or that is really inappropriate for instance you just won a big amount of money and they will do anything to delay it or in case won't allow you to withdraw and you submitted the required document but still, they did not accept it even though you know that what you have send is valid and doesn't have any problem.

I think you should away on those kind of gambling site.
Even though the ops stated clearly that he didn't know that the casino will ask for kyc but after he won an amount that is above many casino trence hold for kyc demand,  because most of the casino may allow you to withdraw any amount that is below $5k but any winning above that limit will trigger kyc demand and the player will need to go through kyc verifications.

But in a situation where the player passed all the verification process and the casino refused to grant him access to the fund then he can call the scam.
Obviously, that’s already a sign of scam once your KYC is always neglected, which means they really have no intention to release your won amount. But I don’t think it’s their first time to do that if ever, they may have past victims same like your case. That’s the reason why we should also take some time reading the reviews, because apparently, those previous victims will definitely post their complaints so they can also help other gamblers to stay away from the said casino.
1072  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 22, 2023, 01:05:50 PM
Learn to say “no”

This is something that you should really be minding or have this kind of behavior on which it is really better where you dont make yourself get easily tempted on buying things which you do see around. If its something that is beneficial then go ahead but its not something necessary then its better to skip out and avoid it.There are people who do have that good self control and discipline when it comes to things specially
if they are aware on how much they've been earning.

Spending something or an amount which is more than you do earn will really be putting you on huge debt and would really be having some financial problem which is something
that we do really need to avoid on or having this kind of behavior.
Learn to live within your means so that you can live your life free from debt. That’s why a lot of us are drown to debt because we can’t get rid of our wants, when in fact we should prioritize our needs over our wants. However, if we have extra money left, maybe that’s the time to consider purchasing our wants but if we are on a tight budget, learn to weight things which are necessary and which are not.
1073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you get familiar with threads? on: April 21, 2023, 10:48:51 PM
Most at times I get confuse and stuck when I see some post with strange or unfamiliar threads but at the same time I will see a lot of people arguing the threads and comments. I don't know how wide is crypto currency with exclusive terminologies like nodes, cores, NFt etc. At some point I wonder what I can do to mingle deeply in the discussion and contributions of this hard terms but one can not said something where you have no ideas. That's why I want to know how you get much familiar with all bitcoin technologies? What should I do?

You have to stop writing and start reading everything on this forum. The only way you can start contributing on this forum is by learning what it is all about.
The learning phase is something that you should stick with throughout your life.
Talking about myself, I have been here for more than 5 years and yet I believe I don't sufficient knowledge and so I keep learning every now and then.
This is the only way for you to know about crypto and the tech behind it.
There’s no other ways to make you familiar with the threads but to make yourself focused on studying and learning new tech every now and then so that you can engage in a meaningful conversation in the forum. Laziness has no rooms to grow in the forum, so you need to achieve learning everyday so you can be a significant contributor in the forum by sharing the valuable knowledge you have gained.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: April 21, 2023, 09:44:04 PM
I do believe that they fall down hard during this bear run because most of them showed their hand, that's the main reason. During the bull run period they shared stuff with promotion so they made some money but at the end of the day investors mostly made money too, if they failed here and there, they made it back with others and that was their "in", they convinced people that way.

But, during the bear market they kept doing the same thing and the result was much worse, people did not trust them and saw that they just got money from promotions and sold them out. Which is why there are a ton of influencers who are no longer influencers and they became aggressive about it as well and caused a ton of trouble as well.
I guess it’s obvious that crypto influencers only become in demand and profitable when the market is bullish or near to its being bullish, but when the market is bearish, everyone do not care about influencers but focus on their own analysis not to get discouraged about the low price and decide to sell. That’s the reason why crypto influencers become rampant during bullish season, because people will follow them easily unlike when the market is bearish, they find it hard and difficult to convince people to invest.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 21, 2023, 12:55:51 AM

R. Westbrook 15+ RA @1.93

Locked this just minutes after the news broke. As we speak, the line is at around 18 or even 19. No PG13, no Kawhi, this is Westbrook's team, and it smells like a triple-double, vintage Westbrook performance. Yeah, i think the Clippers stay competitive despite the fact that the spread has ballooned over the last couple of hours. I expect Westbrook's usage to be off the charts...
You better hope he doesn't have a night like Game 1 where he went 3-19.

I personally just placed a small bet at halftime on Phi -9.5. They're up 11 at halftime currently so i'm hoping they keep it up. I'm not a fan of either team but I had $30 on betnomi so I went looking for a fairly safe bet.

The bet was for Assists + Rebounds, so if he has a bad shooting night, there's a likelihood that the bet will win as Westbrook might be busy with rebounding and sharing the ball. However, if he scores 25 points or more, he needs to have a perfect night to still get those rebounds and assists like when he was still a triple-double machine.
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 20, 2023, 02:29:37 AM

So I'm taking the Lakers +6.5 right now, odds is still very attractive at 2.10, live betting.

Good luck! There's still a chance for the Lakers since Memphis hasn't pulled away yet. This is only game 2, and Memphis needs to even the series, but it's okay if they win as long as the Lakers cover the spread for you. It's been a very interesting game so far, and I'm impressed by how Memphis is handling the pressure despite missing their best player.

10 point lead, so the bet is lost. Good thing is that I was unable to bet in this game because I'm going with the Lakers bandwagon because of what they show in game 1.

And even without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies shows heart, two of their big guys, Tillman and Jackson carry the team in their shoulders and both almost had double doubles to bet with their scoring. But that 3 by Brooks from way back was the dagger for the Lakers. On the other hand, the Lakers is missing their 3 point shot down the stretch, 1 by D'Lo, 1 by Reaves and then by Lebron that could have close the game in the last 2 minutes of the game.

The refs might also be favoring the home team as they have the home court advantage. Have you watched JJ Redick's interview about the Draymond Green case? He said that the refs were favoring the Kings in their two home games, which is why the Warriors struggled to win. So it's possible that the same thing is happening here. Refs have a huge influence on the game, but hopefully, it will not kill the fun.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 20, 2023, 01:38:21 AM

Can't blame Ginebra locals on why they didn't able to keep that lead when Brownlee was being sidelined.

Brownlee is really the key to matching TNT's import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. It's just that when Brownlee got sidelined, that's only the time RHJ got the advantage and bounce back TNT on that 14-point lead at the start of the second half. Ginebra's coach Tim Cone admitted that they are having difficulty in rebounding as RHJ now owned the paint as no one from the locals can contain him, at least at 100%.

As per Coach Tim, Brownlee's situation is severe. Correct me if I'm wrong but when it is called severe, that is really painful. Hopefully, Brownlee will be at 100% healthy status on Game 6 no matter what. Don't want to see a Finals game where the other team is handicapped.

That was unexpected, but it happened. However, it's important to remember that it was only one game, and the series is not over yet. Once Brownlee is healthy again, I'm confident that they will be able to even the series. Although Brownlee wasn't at 100% during that game, he still contributed to the team. It's possible that he became exhausted in the second half, which caused him to throw up and prevented him from returning to the game.

The good news is that TNT is currently ahead, which increases the likelihood that this game will go to a Game 7.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 19, 2023, 11:03:13 AM
Congratulations, @YuginKadoya. The home team made covering the spread look easy. What do you think will be the outcome tomorrow? Do you think the home team will win and cover the spread again?

As for me, I initially bet on the Bucks -6.5. I believe they are due for a big win to even the series.

Just to update on the injury status:

Antetokounmpo is doubtful
Lowry is questionable
, and Herro is out.

There's a less chance that Antetokounmpo will play although he is listed as doubtful.

As per the latest development of his injury ;
https://www.bostonherald.com/2023/04/18/antetokounmpo-sits-out-practice-listed-as-doubtful-by-bucks-for-wednesday-vs-heat/

Quote
Clarity with Giannis Antetokounmpo will likely not come until Wednesday night’s game day against the Miami Heat, with the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star forward not practicing Tuesday due to a lower-back contusion sustained Sunday.

How would he play if he didn't practice, probably the injury is really serious and it requires more time to heal before he can return. Well, the current line up of the Bucks I think is capable of winning at home.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 19, 2023, 07:17:45 AM

I am also curious if the light-handed Fulton will try to become the aggressor against the heavy-handed speedster just like what he did against Brandon Figueroa.

That would not happen as he understands how powerful Inoue's punches are. If he makes a mistake, he might get knocked out, and that would be embarrassing. No fighter in this division can go toe to toe against Inoue. They should use a strategy where they have an advantage, and it's certainly not becoming the aggressor of the fight.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 19, 2023, 05:20:52 AM
Therefore, my bet is on the Suns -7.5 and Cavaliers -5.5.

I got a win! It was easy for the Cavaliers, but the Suns game was a little thrilling because they didn't control the game in the early quarters. Luckily, Booker continued his great performance, and they won and covered the spread. Sometimes, when the bet seems difficult, it's the easiest one.
Cheers for you! Phoenix Suns won although I have seen the Clippers gave them a difficult time to claim it. The 1st half was nerve racking as the Clippers reached a 13 point lead. That's where I saw how the Suns can play better than Game 1. Defense will always be the key. This is the playoffs, every possession will be important and now I have seen them being careful with the ball. Let CP3 do the handles and when KD was doubled, find an open man.
Love the game they showed today. Now the question, will they bring the momentum to LA? One game was snatched from their home, it's their chance to get it back.
I trust that they will win to even the series, so I might as well bet on them covering the spread, and that's it. Maybe I will also bet on the teams tomorrow that lost in the first game. Bucks and Memphis will be my bets, maybe as a two-team parlay as well.

By the way, Draymond Green is suspended in game 3, but the spread only moved by 1 point, so I think it signals that the Warriors will still win the game.
