1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 03, 2023, 07:38:21 PM
I already bet on the Warriors at -4.5 as well, I like their chances in game 1 specially at their home court. They lost a game here against the Kings, but I doubt that they can go 2 home game lost specially in the playoff. Curry has taken over and he is putting performances like he was trying to proved his doubters wrong. Lakers has the advantage of having a rest, but they could have ring rust, while the Warriors have the momentum right now. Lot's of game match up, inside with Looney and Draymond against a healthy Anthony Davis.

Honestly, what could go wrong? It's like you've predicted the exact opposite here mate and I know bettors are quite confused what happened in the fourth quarter after the Warriors had a 14-0 run in almost 5 minutes, which got the fans hyped because they are tied again. But they kept on making mistakes, especially Jordan Poole for throwing the ball inside the Steph Curry range.

Anyway, it's quite impossible to think that the Warriors will again have 0-2 in the 2nd round. I know it's somehow possible but I believe the Warriors will not let that happen.

They've got their hands full with Anthony Davis...   We'll see how they adjust for the next game.

Tonight we may see the return of Joel Embiid as the MVP has said he's on track to play tonight.  I don't think he'd say that if it weren't true, so I expect we'll see him in Boston facing off against the Celtics.  The question is if he's going to be able to make an impact.  I don't think he'd play otherwise but you never know.  I'm sure people will be giving them the edge with Embiid back and them winning without him.  I have a feeling tonight is going to go to the Celtics though.

Still kind of debatable whoever this game will this go because I know that the Celtics got some depth within their roster and the presence of Tatum as well as Brown are not something that can be underestimated as they can both explode in any given game. But what I'm trying to say here is that the Sixers somehow deserved to have the benefit of the doubt especially after what they've done in Game 1 without Embiid's help.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: May 02, 2023, 07:42:18 PM
I believe that even John Ryder, when he sees this odd, convinces himself that he has no chance of winning in this fight, with many people putting a lot of pressure on him, he can lose concentration, I heard that Canelo hasn't fought in Mexico since 2011 and Ryder is coming for this fight with some optimism because he had good results in the fights before this one, but this odds value is not good for ryder, being left-handed he can have punch angles that are very difficult for a fighter to defend himself, but Canelo Alvarez has the advantage of having good finishing skills, he has good speed

Surely being listed as a 8:1 heavy underdog will discourage your existence in the fight because how can you oppose those listed odds and make something out of it positively if the people and even the bookies are already seeing you as a boxer who has been defeated already even before the fight starts. But it depends on how will John Ryder view his situation and I believe this will be his reason to strive more and that he can still prove himself, instead of losing faith towards the fight.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 02, 2023, 06:13:45 PM
And since it was reported that Ryan Garcia chooses to separate with Goosen as his trainer, (he is also a no show if I'm remember correctly) then maybe when Ryan's contract with GBP is up, he might have to look for another boxing promotions I reckon.

I do agree that it was very unprofessional for them to be absent in the post fight press conference. Regardless, they know that they have to cover Ryan's back whether he win or lose that fight. Of course, not just Oscar but those who back up Ryan in this big fight is frustrated because we thought that he still has something inside of him to at least give us a good fight. But Davis is just to good, power and has a good defense to protect himself against Ryan's left hook.
Thank you for the update. I just finished reading about Trainer Goosen and Ryan Garcia going their separate ways. I found some coach's revelations about Garcia too after the issue came out. It seems like KingRy likes to slack off and his former trainer doesn't like that too. They are saying Garcia was not happy about the instructions given to him by Goosen during the Tank Davis fight but I believe this is just a cover for his own problem because many coaches are already verifying the laziness of Ryan.

This first loss probably affected him mentally but this is also where greatness will happen. You lose one, you get back as a stronger fighter, and you polish the mistakes you had done. I don't think changing trainers is the solution to being a better boxer. This year will be a big challenge for him.

You need to understand everything after your loss, if you want to come back strong you need first to accept your defeat and use it as stepping stone to move forward, there's should be no issue about losing a fight and if this concern about his coach will continue to spread, it will not help his career, if he fight again with a new coach and loss then the reflection will continue be negative.

Better to quietly work with how to improve yourself and, for now, stay away from social media. It will help him to focus and regain his former place.

I guess fame and to be in the spotlight didn't had any good effects towards Ryan Garcia because instead of improving and continue to be a better boxer, that just made his head to grow bigger and if the revelation of Joe Goosen was true that Ryan Garcia was lazy throughout the whole preparation then the kid is seriously in deep trouble and the recent defeat will make his mental problems worse (that I think was not solved yet and Oscar was just covering for him that he already survived it).
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 02, 2023, 05:04:25 PM

So the question is, who is going to guard him from the Lakers, Dennis? Austin Reaves, D'Lo? For me Warriors are going to be a bad match-up for the Lakers. They have Wiggins to guard Lebron. And then Looney/Green against AD in the paint.
None. Simple as that.
~

I hope you guys have realized that the Lakers ranked number 1 defensively since the trade deadline and AD just dominated the 2023 DPOY JJJ. The Kings defense is way below than the Lakers. The Lakers could actually put their normal rotation as is, they are not only defending Curry, but the whole GSW team. This is not a 1 on 1 match, it's a team match - so we don't technically analyze 1 on 1 match ups here.

Nevertheless, this is going to be a good series. Some might have said that the Grizz were a better team than the GSW, but I don't believe that either. The Grizz are so inconsistent offensively, If they can't make their shots it was an automatic L for them. GSW is a much better team than the Grizz actually and they are a much experienced team as well.

The Lakers might've been a better team post-trade deadline, but we are talking about the Warriors here. One of the best three point shooting teams currently, and to back it up, the Lakers are very wide open to their opponents when it comes to shooting threes. They're allowing their opponents to shoot 36.5 attempts on average (25th), and their opponents are making 12.5 threes on average (20th). For sure the Warriors will exploit this problem of the Lakers. Expect them to shoot more on threes than in twos.

Anyway, like you said, it will be a good series, and it's a classic one because we will see Steph and Lebron matching up again after that 4 consecutive Finals match-up. It would be a good series, and I hope that the fans of both teams will be enjoying watching this one. Curry Vs. James Round 5. Cheesy

Good attention to details right there, that's what I've been slightly noticing how the Lakers are allowing these numbers. However, LeBron knew very well what the Warriors are capable of so it would be up to them how are the whole LAL team are going to adjust with the current opponent who's offensive fire power are greater than the previous one.
The reason why I brought the Lakers' defensive rating is that, MAYBE they are capable of pulling up another defensive strategy that works for teams like the Warriors.

Yeah classic match up man! We never know, this is going to be the last match up we see Curry and LeBron going against each other and everything else will be a history.

Lakers need to find ways to adjust to how the Warriors play the game,

We all know how deadly all the players of GSW when given a chance to make the clean shot, it will be a big challenge to Lakers
if how they will adjust tailing all the shooters and make those shots a tough one to release.

I think LeBron as the main alpha here will help not only playing the game but also designing their offense and defense to make
sure that they will be in this series no matter what will happen.

Darvin Ham's fresh mind will surely be needed in this game and I believe he got a better understanding on the team now and what's needed to be executed so that they can keep up with the Warriors offense and of course, defensive tactics is as important as the offense because they can't win a game if their defense is not that tight.

As of now, Basically everyone around the NBA is picking the Warriors to beat the Lakers, so, once again the Los Angeles Lakers are in a tough position where they have to prove their roster once again because they are now getting tested by the defending champs.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: May 02, 2023, 03:36:12 PM
Its his last fight with Goosen though, as Garcia is parting ways with the fame training,

Quote
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that Garcia has parted ways with veteran trainer Joe Goossen. The split comes a little more than a year after the two joined forces in early 2022, working just three fights together and which ended with Garcia’s lone career defeat when he was stopped by unbeaten star Gervonta Davis in the seventh round of their April 22 super fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-parts-ways-with-joe-goossen-following-knockout-defeat-gervonta-davis--174277

So from Reynoso->Goosen->Huh?

Who's next for Ryan? and can we blame him for leaving Goosen as his trainer? They are very close as Goosen has trained Ryan in the amateurs and it was reported that the Garcia's are close to Goosen. But obviously, with the way he lost against Tank, I guess Ryan might not be satisfied on how him and Goosen put up their strategy. Anyways, we will see which one his going to pick next as he wanted to go and move up to 140 lbs.

So, it seems that they are on the blaming game now and I wouldn't be shocked if a similar news will explode that Ryan Garcia have cut his ties with his promoter, Oscar Dela Hoya, although, I'm not even sure if Garcia can do it now (this year) because he got a contract under Golden Boy. I guess, we'll know about it soon as they are now on a hot mess. It all started when Oscar didn't show up in the post-fight press con.
1046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't know if am right or wrong about this. on: April 29, 2023, 04:31:57 PM
Well, in this case, it doesn't matter whether it's right or wrong, because of course all decisions come back to your friend.
But on the other hand, apart from talking about the risks, you also have to say that trading, especially being a day trader, is one of the actions that new people cannot do. Because seeing from your story, he is a new person in my opinion so in this case it is clear that it will be very difficult and even likely to be impossible to do.
Actually telling is something very good but for the sake of smoothness it's better to also tell him that he won't be suitable for trading because this besides requiring a strategy, this also requires a much more understanding than that and when just trying it without having the slightest basic knowledge it would just be like suicide.
I can sense that your friend has quickly invested without proper education and thorough knowledge on the type of investment that he’s going to enter. You should have warned him in the first place that trading is actually hard for beginners, especially for those who have no knowledge and experience in trading. Yes, it can be profitable in the long run, but it also depends on one’s skills and strategies. If your friend do not have that, clearly he’s up for a suicidal decision.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 29, 2023, 04:05:58 PM
These news are the reason that make people tend to think gambling is bad when gambling itself actually good if you know what you're doing. Kidnapping to get money isn't only happen for gambling addict, but drug addict, alcohol addict, had a huge debt, want to have luxury lifestyle, personal problem etc.

This kind news is same like someone deposit Bitcoin in ponzi scheme project and then he blame Bitcoin because he can't withdraw it from ponzi scheme project.
If you can use gambling as entertainment and get pleasure and not become addicted to gambling, you are using gambling properly. But sadly, many people have become addicted to gambling because they get out of control after playing several games for a while. This is also what makes the number of people addicted to gambling increase because they do not have good self-control while gambling.

And people addicted to gambling can do bad things to anyone, including their own family because of the urge to get money quickly. And they will do anything to have money and continue playing gambling. This is not the same as a Ponzi scheme project which will eventually blame Bitcoin because it is about how people can control themselves when they gamble.
This is the reason why people should never be encouraged to enter gambling especially if they have issues in controlling their urge and emotions, otherwise they will gamble to the extent of harming others. Though gambling is not bad for those who can manage their gambling losses and just leave the house easily, but for those who sees gambling as a consistent source of profits, once they lose huge amount, they will find it hard to recover their emotions that may lead them to do things that are obviously not right.
1048  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 29, 2023, 03:31:33 PM
An overly dramatized story. But if this situation does occur, then what is the best option if not selling bitcoin ownership. Investment aims to make a profit and to make someone happy. If someone is held hostage and the last option is to sell Bitcoin ownership, yes it must be done. No matter the profit or loss, a person's life is the top priority. Bitcoin can still be found again and can be bought at any time, but the stock of someone's life cannot be bought again.
We really don’t know if it’s true or not. But even if it’s true, one should never be confused on what will be his decision. Of course, life matters more than money or bitcoin so he should never hesitate to sell his bitcoin if that’s the last option just to bail his kid sis. But he should not trust the kidnapper either and just give the ransom instantly. For security, he should contact first the police men and let them aware of the situation. If the kidnappers are smart, I guess the one who’s asked for a ransom should be smarter than them.
1049  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your money wisely - another lesson, Techie tries to suicide. on: April 29, 2023, 02:51:35 PM
Apparently, the person in the story is newbie who flouted the laws of investment especially crypto investment. He even used loan, his mother's pension and other moneis he knew he couldn't afford to lose and poured it into crypto. I can bet that the so-called crypto he invested the money into was a shit coin. Well, I am glad he didn't died. People must educate themseves about cryptocurrency before delving into it. It is high risk. Avoid using money you cannot afford to lose. Join a community and ask all the questions you have about it before you invest. And if it is not bitcoin tread with extreme caution.

That is commonly the problem for newbies these days as they invest with high greed, with the intention of making them rich instantly without assessing theirselves if they are knowledgeable enough on the investment and if they’re investing an amount they can afford to lose. As long as it’s crypto, regardless if it’s shitcoins, they will dare to take risks believing that crypto will never disappoint them and will always give them massive profits. Good thing this newbie in the news failed to commit suicide as he was saved quickly by the police officers. But if ever if he had push through it, just imagine what will his mother feels being left alone, and to think that she might be struggling to recover her pension funds which was  gone so quickly.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is important? Knowledge or Experience? Or both in Bitcoin Learning! on: April 29, 2023, 01:11:35 PM
Experience is always the best teacher. That doesn't mean that knowledge is not require or neccessary. Someone who has experience is far better than knowledge because experience is series of hard work and multiple mistakes. Experience is practically achieved and knowledge is mostly theorical.
In bitcoin investment, i d' rather go to someone with much experience because he has made a mistake before and learnt from them.
Experience is the combination of theoritical and practical learning, so both are required.

Knowledge is theory, but without knowledge, you cannot start, you cannot trade or invest. It can be said that knowledge is an extremely important foundation for any newbie, and experienced people are very knowledgeable. To be successful in any field, we need both and we must combine them flexibly to achieve the desired results. To be honest, I have never seen a successful investor or make a lot of money saying they have no knowledge, or no experience. Both are necessary and sufficient conditions for a person to be successful.
One with high experience has probably earned a lot of knowledge in the first place. So both of them, knowledge and experience are of high necessity particular if you aim for its best outcome. Though there could be highly knowledgeable individuals but with less experience, but you won’t hear highly experienced but are less knowledgeable. However, since we are talking about bitcoin learning, I would say both should be present, acquisition of knowledge first that would lead to more productive experiences.
1051  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 29, 2023, 12:29:46 PM
I'd say never advice someone to invest in something that's just quite fluctuative with their pension fund, like in stocks and bitcoin, it just too much risk for them if that's the only money they've got for their old age, even diversification won't do much in this regard if economy is tanking then these investments will also tanks.
pension fund usually are funds that many couldn't afford to lose, and certainly the nature of many investment instruments nowaday is that, they fluctuate too much, they've got volatility that's too high, in which i'm gonna refrain from investing in them if i got the money which i can't afford to lose, imagine being homeless in the retirement age, that's gonna be ironic.
However, if they really want to take part in investing, then they can still invest but with a minimal amount only, and not literally the whole pension funds as they could totally lose them in an instant especially if they only invest without proper knowledge and guidance. But I will never convince them to enter in this kind of investment, certainly not at their old age and weak hearts. Yes, bitcoin is highly profitable, but maybe this kind of investment is not for everyone.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I may sound really stupid right now, but it's what I noticed on: April 28, 2023, 09:23:43 PM
I have noticed that the media tends to remain silent when the market is experiencing a huge bull run. However, they tend to spread negative news that can affect Bitcoin's value when we are in a bear market. Some of this news could be FUD and lack credible sources.

The media's goal is to make investors stressed and worried about Bitcoin's situation. It's important not to fall for their manipulations and to stay strong and believe in Bitcoin. Sooner or later, Bitcoin's value will likely grow a lot in the future and HOLDERS will be millionairesIf they don't lose their seed phrase/private keys.
That’s how they played the game. But the most important is, you make your own game by not falling on their own trap. Well actually, bitcoin was always been attacked by negative news regardless if the market is bearish or bullish. It’s just that people were mostly affected by negativity when the market is not at its best condition, and just bite what the media says and end us regretting their decision. Even when the market is bullish, the negative news are there but since the market is so profitable at that time, people will ignore those negative news that are only there just to get them destructed from their market’s focus.

1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 28, 2023, 02:22:37 PM

I will only say this to the Kings-Warriors series.

Only one road win is needed for them to win in this series, and now that they've got it, for sure that the Warriors will finish this series in Chase Center. Also the Warriors  have 28 straight series with a road win. That currently is the longest streak in NBA history.

The Warriors can't afford to lose at home, as game 7 would be too risky for their chances to win the series. The way the Kings played in game 5, I didn't see the kind of hunger they showed in the last four games. They seemed to give up in the fourth quarter and let the Warriors take over the game.

In game 6, it's a possible end to the series, so the Kings need to start strong early, as they know how strong the Warriors are in the third quarter. If the Warriors have a good lead in the first half, then the series will be close to ending.

Also, watch out for Klay Thompson, as he is not named "Game 6 Klay" for nothing.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 28, 2023, 01:51:47 PM
Judging the Celtics performance against the Hawks, they weren't that impressive to me and because of that, I think that a healthy Sixers can eliminate them.

The 76ers will be the underdog in their matchup, and that's a good point of view because the 76ers' defense was really impressive in the first round. It's the offensive team versus the defensive team, and normally, the defensive team will win (except for the Warriors), so let's see.

According to the series betting odds, the Celtics are heavy favorites to win the series:

Celtics 1.32
76ers 3.45

The series handicap is -1.5 for the Celtics.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 27, 2023, 09:19:06 PM
Yes, Tank is better than Garcia. This should not only silence Garcia in trash-talking against Tank, he should also be silenced in some of his arrogant trash-talks about him being the king, having been defeated by no other boxer, etc. He is defeated. He is even knocked out. And the knock out was humiliating in a sense because he was the one who refused to stand up, even if it was impossible to stand up. That is already something to some fans and opponents.

Although we can say now that Garcia is not on Tank's level, I really wonder where Garcia now if he hadn't faced all those challenges in his life which distracted his focus on boxing and affected his entire career.
Nah, he'll be alright. He didn't look disappointed after the fight, and he knew inside that Tank is really a tough fighter and that he could lose. We hate him because of his trash-talking ability, but in reality, that's what you call effective marketing on his side. So let's just hope for the best for Garcia, who suffered his first defeat. I'm confident that he'll come back strong soon!

Exactly! It's still a win-win situation on his part because at the end of the day, he will have a guaranteed millions of dollars as that fight was dubbed as the mega-fight of the year and don't forget, that same fight made a history to be the first event in T-Mobile Arena that generated almost $23 Million just in ticket sales alone.
Besides, Ryan Garcia also he knew that he will not be fighting again at 135 in the future and will pursue his career in the next weight class that is currently dominated by the former undisputed champion, Josh Taylor.

That could be a good fight for him, as he'll surely be more comfortable in that weight class. Choosing an opponent between Tank and Josh Taylor, I think he'll have a better chance against Josh Taylor. However, it will not be that easy, as he is coming from a loss, and he will be starting in a new division, so he needs to improve his ranking first before he can have another championship fight.

At least he can learn from his experience on his first defeat. It's not easy, but it gives him a reality check that too much trash-talking will not help him improve as a boxer. As of now, let's just wait for updates on Ryan Garcia. This man deserves a little rest after that big fight, though.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 27, 2023, 09:05:50 PM
Celtics vs Hawks.

The line opened at +5.5 for the home team and is now at +7.5. Probably a lot of money is going to the Celtics, thinking the series will end tonight. Well, let's see about that, as it could be another scenario like the Miami Heat vs Bucks game.

The edge is all on the Hawks here. They have momentum from the big win on the road, and Murray is back after his Game 1 suspension. So, I don't see any reason why not to take the Hawks moneyline.

Just for fun, I would also take the Atlanta Hawks. But obviously, the Celtics are the better team here, despite what we saw in their previous game. Of the last 5 games, it was the Celtics who were dictating the pace. Or, the last game was very special for the Hawks because Trae Young got lucky with his last shot that sank in. But, I don't think it will happen again if we use the law of averages.

So there's a big reason why the line has moved up.

But, maybe +7.5 is a safe play for the Hawks, so they don't easily give up, even if they are already in a big deficit.

Nice lineup of games tonight.  I'm most looking forward to the Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks game.  Even though I'm a Chicago Bulls fan and got to witness the great uprising of Jimmy Butler, it's been amazing to see how good he's done since leaving and continue to do without another super star player around him.

Also looking forward to the LA Laker versus Memphis Grizz game tonight.  I think the Laker are going to close out that series, or I guess I should say I just hope they do.

LA Lakers is down, the thing is, they have the luxury to lose this game and then come back on their home court to finished it off. While the Grizz back is against the wall and a must win situation

On the other hand, same situation for the Cavs, down 3-1 against the New York Knicks, the Knicks started as the underdog in this series, but now they are on top. The Cavs is still fighting, down 8 points at the start of the 3rd quarter. And I think this will be another of those game that will be close. The Cavs doesn't want to disappoint their fans here.

Not yet - Memphis only has a single digit lead now, and although it may change, the fact that the Lakers have already come back means they have a big chance of ending the series tonight. Memphis had a good lead, but unfortunately, they're not good at protecting it, so this comeback by the Lakers is very dangerous since they've had a lot of success already in the past, even in this series.

Suddenly, the Grizzlies had a big run and now they're leading by more than 20 points. It's already the 4th quarter, so I doubt the Lakers will still be able to come back. They should rest LeBron and Davis already to avoid injury, as they won't be able to come back anymore. They should just prepare for Game 6 and make sure they finish the series in 6.

Sorry to those who bet on the Lakers - it looks like it's not their lucky day now.

On the other series, Cavaliers has been eliminated already, final series score is 4-1 in favor of the NYK.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 26, 2023, 08:56:39 PM

I am also curious if the light-handed Fulton will try to become the aggressor against the heavy-handed speedster just like what he did against Brandon Figueroa.

That would not happen as he understands how powerful Inoue's punches are. If he makes a mistake, he might get knocked out, and that would be embarrassing. No fighter in this division can go toe to toe against Inoue. They should use a strategy where they have an advantage, and it's certainly not becoming the aggressor of the fight.

It's much better for Fulton to observe Inoue first and try his chance to once he feels that he can take Monster's solid combinations.
but being aggressor I think that's not a good idea.

Knowing how solid those punches and how strong Inoue it will be, a fight with good strategy and not just to engage with a toe-to-toe confrontations.

Fulton's camp might study Inoue already and they are preparing for a good plan to execute.

He better use that strategy so the fight does not end early.

Inoue is just too good at finding an opening, and with his solid punches, such as his liver shot, the fight could end quickly.

As the champion, Fulton should fight like a champion and not underestimate Inoue's power because it might ruin his game plan. He should stick with his strategy, score throughout the fight, but never get careless and become too aggressive.
