1204  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Active Mining farm looking for investors. We have electricty at a good rate. on: August 08, 2018, 05:50:07 PM
I'm writing here to let you guys know that we want to host your antminers.
Depending on your volume, the price is negociable. Send me a direct message or write on here so we can talk together about future arrangements!
You just created an account and asking for investors. You do realize that it's hard to trust the account which do not have any activities, any prior trust establishment? Would you deal with someone who are same (newbie and the first post is asking for investor) like you are now?

You might want to add more information to make your claim authentic.
1205  Economy / Lending / Re: Need Small Loan - 0.002BTC >> Repaying Tomorrow on: August 08, 2018, 11:53:36 AM
He probably booked it man, once a account is tagged, it's usually dead weight to most people.

This is what I said him...
Don't bother collateral, I hope you will show the respect in back.

And seems like he wanted to take his last chance. Anyway more 0.002 btc has been added with 0.08 BTC that I have lost last week.

Tell you what - There are good and bad people but sadly these few bad ones are too dangerous for the community. They ruin everything. Next time may be an honest one will come and ask me a small loan but the experience I had, I don't think I will believe the next one.

How could you be so sure that there were no reason? I have not seen any account ban without no reason. I am sure a mod will give you the answer. I guess possible plagiarism.

Good work...
I can see receive history and send history as well...
https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx?to=theymos
https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx?from=theymos

and sent history also can be filtered by the number of merits.
i.e:
https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx?from=theymos&min=50
Pretty awesome.
1211  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit Senders & Receivers – Weight of top 100 and 200 weekly contributors on: August 07, 2018, 02:28:35 PM
From a forum’s point of view, it is kind of bad really. If you turn the numbers around, it reads that 95,24% are spamming or not posting anything too remarkable….
I am an affiliate marketer so I do build my email list. Normally on a list when you blast an email, 3 to 5% click thorough rate1 considers a healthy rate. Depending on the marketing skill and managing the  email list a person can increase it to huge level. I have seen 89% CTR for an email list of over 400K emails.

I understand activities for an email list and for a forum is not something that you can compare however looking at the ratio from your data - it seems to me that no matter what platform you are in, a community tends to follow a rule of 3 to 5% response rate.

1 Number of clicks you receive on a link that you have on your email.

1212  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit Senders & Receivers – Weight of top 100 and 200 weekly contributors on: August 07, 2018, 11:46:44 AM
To:                  18.292 members have received at least 1 sMerit.

Let's assume we add more 20% with this number 18,292 to have a fair number.
18,292 + 20% of 18,292 = 18,292 + 3,658 = 21,950 the quality numbers

Once I mentioned on a post that, it's better to have 1 quality member than 100 spammers.
According to Vod's bpip the active member are 460,948 in total which means 4.76% users are actually making good posts. Not bad IMO.

Quote
Maybe adding more merit sources would be a means to at least having more pairs of eye in the meriting awarding process, even if the total overall amount of sMerit assigned to them doesn’t budge at all.
I guess a lot of us also think the same. We need more merit sources to make the whole system decentralized. Somewhere I have seen someone proposed an initial target is to have 200 sources and then gradually the number can be increased.

The main challenge for theymos would be the selection process. It's very hard to pick a good merit source I guess although we already have few applications are pending. For some reason we are seeing theymos is a bit quite here, possibly his hours are already booked with some other tasks. It's really not easy to manage a community of 460,948 active members. I wonder how he keeps himself calm.  Smiley

Your and my case is not the same however looking at the tx one thing struck me which is the reverted thing. Someone took a loan from me but the collateral was an outdated token. I did not realize it until I (the escrow) wanted to send them to an exchange. The transaction was failing and it had the same reason.

More details: SCAM ALERT!!! Lost 0.08 BTC [Please stay safe]

I am trying to understand when this reverted thing happens.
1217  Economy / Reputation / Re: LoyceV's reputation thread (with a guestion for the community) on: August 06, 2018, 03:04:13 AM
Correct, for a non DT it's ok to do whatever they want (use/abuse of anything), nobody counts but once someone become a DT then they are basically a role model/an example for the forum.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic but I think that's wrong. The trust system should be used responsibly at any level.
No it's real. I did not mean that it should not be used responsibly at any level, my emphasis was on DTs  Smiley
A DT should feel (be) more responsible and accurate on leaving their feedback.
1218  Economy / Reputation / Re: Mr and Mrs Creampie Cumshot merit spitballing on: August 06, 2018, 02:34:34 AM
If anyone does (death threats) then what will be the consequence?

The offending post would be deleted, and I guess in this case nothing would happen because it's not even a post.

This should be deleted then...

if i know where you are right now i would put a bullet in your head....
Another death thread. @theymos, mprep, hilariousetc, Vod and others - do we accept it? If we do then we are encouraging death threads which does not feel good.
1219  Economy / Reputation / Re: LoyceV's reputation thread (with a guestion for the community) on: August 06, 2018, 01:40:22 AM
I wouldn't say I understand the trust system very well, if I would then perhaps I could save my account from the neg by hilariousandco. Anyway it's irrelevant here.

Being a DT is a great responsibility. You are one of those trusted member who are representing the entire forum reputation. It's good to see that you think twice before leaving a feedback and I hope all the DTs do the same, even after they leave a feedback (heads up to marlboroza). There could be situations where you could be wrong for your judgement and admitting it - is not gonna make you less respectful.

The feedback from elsie34 is an untrusted feedback so it does not matter. Seems like the person wanted to give you a positive one but end up selecting the wrong option. I used to leave a neutral trust if I felt that I was given red for a wrong reason (now a days I don't even care ever since I got the red and another neutral from Lutpin. The Lutpin one did not affect me much mentally but the hilari one destroyed me mentally) to explain why I was misjudged. I think leaving neutral is ok when you see you need to defend a red. Leaving red to defend an unnecessary red is kind of abusing the trust system especially when you are a DT coz your trust counts.

Well-done on the topic.

I would advise you not to leave a retaliatory feedback just for that.  If you were not on DT, it might be arguably OK but my feeling is that you have to pull back a lot when you're on DT.
Correct, for a non DT it's ok to do whatever they want (use/abuse of anything), nobody counts but once someone become a DT then they are basically a role model/an example for the forum.
