1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The world and bitcoins: the matter of global acceptance on: May 07, 2023, 01:40:10 PM
The system is already getting compromised, as we know now that there are many centralized exchanges and those  centralized exchanges has huge amounts of users.

The issues is not about an entity Trying to make bitcoin centralized the real issue is that the centralized is already taking place right in front of us.

I don't think it's a big deal if people use the Bitcoin protocol to create different things. It's open source, so anyone can do whatever they want with it. And honestly, I'm cool with there being a bunch of centralized exchanges, as long as people can choose which one they want to use. Ultimately, the market will decide which ones succeed and which ones don't. It's kind of like how multi-party democracy works in many countries.

If there was only one entity that controlled everything in the Bitcoin ecosystem, then that would be an example of centralization. It would mean that all decision-making power and control would be concentrated in the hands of that entity, and users would have little or no say in how the system operates.

We need to face many problems and try to educate those that are ignorant about the dangers of using a centralized exchange and try to suggest to the a better decentralized option.

I totally agree with you! But still, everyone should be able to choose what works best for them. Some folks might be into DEXs, but others might prefer centralized exchanges 'cause they have some cool perks that DEXs don't. It's totally up to each person to choose which exchange they wanna use based on their own preferences. The same goes for payment processors used by merchants and other services on the Bitcoin network. And that's one of the great things about open source - it allows for a variety of options and choices for people to use and benefit from.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The world and bitcoins: the matter of global acceptance on: May 06, 2023, 08:16:21 PM
Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies are meant to be decentralized, meaning that no single authority controls them. That's what makes them so unique and trustworthy. Introducing a centralized institution to oversee new projects could be seen as going against that principle. Any solutions to address scams and fake projects should be done in a way that doesn't compromise the security and integrity of Bitcoin.

I dont care.

We don't care either, so why this topic?

By the way, DireWolfM14's negative feedback on your account was within his rights and consistent with the standards of this community, and I think it was justified. If you don't like it, you're welcome to seek a loan from another source.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin from 2009 on: May 06, 2023, 07:36:20 PM
Hello all, I am trying to track a bitcoin purchase I made in 2009, <...>

Hahaha! You have a great sense of humor!

I'm not sure what your investment portfolio looked like in 2009, but it's safe to say that Bitcoin wasn't a part of it at the time.
1205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin to Bitcoin address, help? on: May 06, 2023, 07:30:12 PM
I transfered from 3rd party platform Litecoin via "Bitcoin network" to Bitcoin address. For some reason the transaction was succesfull, but i obviously didnt receive the funds.

Have you tried contacting the customer support of the platform you sent the funds from? What do they say?

However, i managed to track down the Litecoin wallet (which was apperantly created just for this transaction, since there is only 1 transaction done)

May I know how you were able to track down the Litecoin wallet (presumably the address) where the funds are being held? It's worth noting that it's possible for an address to receive funds even without a corresponding wallet created for it. This means that there's a chance that the funds might have been sent to an address that no one has access to.

So how is it possible that i send Litecoin to Bitcoin address, bitcoin transaction didnt arrive,  but a new LTC wallet was created with my funds, where i have no access of.

Have i lost my funds?

It would be best if you directed that question to the platform through which you transferred the funds.
1206  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ NowDice.com 🎲 Low House Edge 🎲 NO KYC! 💰 Jackpot 💰 on: May 06, 2023, 06:03:33 PM
<...> that address they claim is theirs doesn't seem to be true, on google map it shows that there's something else at that address and it's not related to any casino, it seems to me that its a building that people can rent to make offices but looking at the luxury i highly doubt this casino would spend that much money renting this space so my conclusion is that they are lying about their location, actually i don't even know why they put it a physical address being that 99% of online casinos do not have a physical address, but once they put it in then we have to investigate and ask questions

Yeah, that's right. The address is actually for an office building in Hong Kong that people can rent office space or virtual offices with all the business and administrative services. But here's the catch: without the full name of the company, they won't be able to receive any mail or packages. Loads of other businesses and offices are also located there, so the courier won't know where to deliver your stuff without the specific company name or office number. I have a feeling that they simply copied the t&c from another website, and then removed the company name from the address but kept the rest of the information.

another strange point is about their email address, because I saw this: " Email: nowdiceofficial@proton.me "

I don't understand why their email address is from proton.me? a casino that has proton.me email? It's all very strange, it would be more common if they had an email address something like support@nowdice.com would make more sense. honestly this is a very suspicious casino, almost everything in this casino is suspicious, they are not reliable

It seems like the guy wants to keep his identity hidden, which is kind of weird considering that they are giving out a physical address for the company.  Grin

Thank you for your support.

Oh, I see. You're just going to completely ignore all the serious questions being asked here? Well, that's just fantastic. I mean, why bother being transparent when you can be as shady as possible, right?
1207  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: May 06, 2023, 02:45:58 PM
There are many casinos out there who are asking for higher wagering requirement but they’re perks with them as well. For example, freebitcoin which is basically a faucet but turned into whole new multiplier game and sports betting is now almost a casino has wagering requirement of 25X the availed bonus eligibility.

This gets insane when you have high bonus eligibility. It’s like both advantage and disadvantage. They also have stringent rule like, whenever you avail the eligible bonus an equivalent amount of balance is also deducted from the account. Then algorithm sets 25x wagering requirement on that amount. It’s huge actually.

Bonus wagering requirements are not in question here. The deposit wagering requirements are the main topic if you read the entire content of the OP. x25 wagering requirements for a bonus can be considered as low since many casinos offer the worst wagering requirements that can go as high as x200 or more depending on how many bonuses they can give.

Yeah! It's quite common to see this on this board. Many users tend to respond to posts without taking the time to read and understand the actual topic of the thread. It can be frustrating to see this kind of behavior...  Undecided

And to answer so98nn's post, last time I checked freebitco.in has no wagering requirements on our deposits. (We are not talking about bonuses here.)

@GxSTxV, Maybe indicate on the title that this wagering requirement list is for a non-bonus deposit to avoid confusion about your main objective here. I'm planning to create a local version on our board. Nice work with the update. Keep it up! IOU 1 merit.

+1

As for merit, I've got you covered. Wink

Newdice, you continue to avoid answering some important questions regarding your gambling site. For example, why is the chat filled with bots and it is impossible to communicate normally with other players?

Check out these screenshots:

Can you explain that?

1209  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: May 06, 2023, 01:51:33 PM
Gamblers like us help scam casino sites.  Because when we carelessly start depositing without reading the rules of a casino site and lose those funds, we get excited and start calling the casino site a scam. So totally our fault and we are responsible for it.

I'm not certain about this. Even if we carefully read the terms and conditions, it may not make much of a difference if the casino is indeed a scam, as you suggest. After all, a scam casino's main objective is to deceive players, and they will do so even if their rules say otherwise. The 1xbit scam is a prime example of such a fraudulent casino that frequently scams its players. Unfortunately, even if we follow the rules, they may still accuse us of breaking them without providing any proof.

So before making a deposit at any casino site one should research the site thoroughly.  Of course one should always focus on trusted casinos. and if one fails to recharge any casino site well then he shouldn’t definitely focus on the new site.

Yes, it's always a good idea to research a casino site thoroughly. This includes looking at reviews from other players, not just reading their terms of use and rules.
1210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much time it takes for single block confirmation? on: May 05, 2023, 09:18:20 PM
To my knowledge the shortest time taken between one block to be mined and other is 2 minute whereas the longest is 40 minutes which I personally witnessed not speaking based on any stats or anything. So average time taken doesn't represent anything it's just the average value of combined mined blocks meanwhile if we take note on every block it will be completely random and you can't do anything about it.

Actually, that's not entirely right. It is possible for a Bitcoin block to be mined in as little as a few seconds or as long as several hours, however it is quite rare for blocks to take less than a minute or more than an hour to be mined.

The Bitcoin protocol is designed to adjust the difficulty of mining blocks approximately every two weeks, in order to maintain an average block time of 10 minutes. However, due to the random nature of the mining algorithm, there can be significant variation in the actual time it takes to mine a block.
1211  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: May 05, 2023, 09:01:44 PM
Usually the best idea is to first check their KYC Terms of Service before even depositing that least amount a user should deposit in that site because whenever amount is being credit to the casino their story's changes, and even if you try submitting kyc they have no option to be toiling with your details rejecting it and giving you more excuse in the of trying to pass kyc.
So my advise and take on this matter is not to involved any funds first rather passing their kyc's before making deposit.

Terms of Service mean nothing. They're always written in a way that benefits the business rather then its customers and almost always you'll see a clause that those terms can be changed. In terms of KYC - terms of service would usually have some vague disclosure saying that KYC checks are or may be required but without stating any specific details. So you want get much from reading those.

I don't completely agree with this. While it's true that some terms may benefit the business more than the customer, it's not uncommon for terms of service to include important information about a company's policies and practices that can protect both parties in case of a dispute or misunderstanding. Besides, businesses are required to comply with laws and regulations, which means that some terms must be designed to protect both the business and its customers. Regarding KYC checks, while the terms of service may not provide specific details, they do inform customers that these checks may be required. This is important information to be aware of.

And that's not to mention that a lot of casinos are either unregulated or operate in exotic jurisdictions so you won't have any option to sue them even if they break their own terms.

I agree with your points, but it's worth noting that there are reputable casinos that are licensed and regulated by well-known authorities and have a strong track record of treating their customers fairly. Plus, even if the casino is based in some weird place and it's hard to take legal action against them, there are still alternative ways to seek a remedy, such as through industry watchdogs or using a third-party mediators. It's not like you're completely helpless if things go wrong.
1212  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ NowDice.com 🎲 Low House Edge 🎲 NO KYC! 💰 Jackpot 💰 on: May 05, 2023, 08:42:48 PM
It's always good to support new gambling sites in the crypto sector. However, as some have already mentioned, there are some concerning details that we need to consider before trusting this site blindly.

First of all, the domain is recently registered, which means that there is no previous reputation to go on. The anonymous owner also causes for concern.

Moreover, the unfinished website with no Terms of Use or Privacy Policy pages and no contact information is quite alarming. The chat being full of bots and the possibility of fake statistics only add to these worries.

Overall, I think it's wise to be cautious with this site until they can provide more transparency and assurance about their legitimacy.
1213  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: May 05, 2023, 07:51:44 PM
  -  Does this mean that if for example I deposit 30$ in the live casino since their requirements are 5x wagering, the calculation is 30$x5=150$ I will accumulate first playing win or lose before I can withdraw from their casino?

Yeah, that's pretty much how it works. It can be a bit of a downer, but that's just how some online casinos work. They want to make sure that players are actually using the platform and not just depositing money and immediately cashing out.

Quote
It also means that before entering a casino that we are going to gamble with, we should first know how many x of wagering they need for withdrawal.

I agree. Just make sure to read the terms and conditions carefully before making any deposits, so you know what you're getting into. Some of these casinos can even be extra strict about which games you can play to meet the wagering requirements. For example, they don't count bets on games with low multipliers like 1.1x. I'm not 100% sure if this rule applies to just bonus offers or if it includes regular deposits too.
1214  Economy / Gambling / Re: This guy gave a whole prototype of "how live roulette scam us" on: May 05, 2023, 07:36:37 PM
Yes, you are right on that point, it's just that sometimes even the license can be faked by the owner of a new casino here in the cryptocurrency business industry.

Yes, you are right on that point, I've seen some scams trying to do that. That's why it's important to check for licensing, read reviews, and verify the site is trusted and safe. But honestly, some people don't care about all that. They just want to gamble and don't care if it's fake or not. It's sad, but true.

That's why the others are okay with spending money even if it's fake so they're sure there are many foolish gamblers to enter large amounts of money to gamble on their platform, because this is what other gambling owners think here in the crypto space that cryptos are based on players in gambling games here.

I think the problem is that many people are attracted to the anonymity and lack of regulation in the crypto space, which makes it easier for shady operators to take advantage of them. I'm not sure if such people are foolish or just naive and uninformed... One thing's for sure, we need to be vigilant and stay informed about the casinos we're playing at. Don't let greed blind us and always be aware of the risks involved in gambling, especially in the volatile crypto space.
1215  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: crypto stuck on gmail on: May 04, 2023, 10:18:12 PM
Already tried the online form 100s of times but is there any real help I can get from google without sending upfront payments to random scammers.

Google doesn't require any payment to recover an account, and any claims to the contrary are likely scams. While it's true that the Google support forum may not always provide a satisfactory solution, there are other options available such as contacting Google support directly or seeking help from a trusted IT professional. If Google support is unable to assist you, then it may be time to accept that your old account is lost for good. Honestly, storing your backup and login information on a third-party mail service was not a smart move in the first place. You should know better than to rely on external providers for something as important.
1216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of losing bitcoin... on: May 03, 2023, 10:31:50 PM
I think people are mostly afraid or panic about things they don't understand enough. It's like when a new toy comes out and everyone wants to be the first one to get it, without considering whether they actually need it or not. They get caught up in the hype and excitement without fully understanding the risks. And let's be honest, some people just love to overreact and create unnecessary drama, especially when it comes to money.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: May 03, 2023, 08:52:04 PM
I couldn't agree more! I once made the mistake of betting on a sport that I knew absolutely nothing about. I thought I was feeling lucky that day, so I decided to take a chance. Well, let's just say that luck wasn't on my side that day. I ended up losing a significant amount, and it was a tough lesson to learn.

That experience taught me to never bet on anything unless I knew what I was doing. It's not worth betting on a sport if you don't know the rules, strategies, and players involved. The same goes for making any kind of wager, if you don't know who or what you're betting on, then there's no way it can end well!

As long as that was a one-time thing then I do not really see anything wrong with that, after all we are talking about gambling here, a hobby in which we take risks just to have a good time.

Yes! I was lucky enough to learn my lesson after that one time. I totally get that gambling is meant to be fun, but it's definitely not a good idea to ignore the odds. After all, the whole point of gambling is to take a chance and hope that we come out on top in the end. But that doesn't mean we should throw caution to the wind and bet recklessly.

But I do agree that when it comes to sports betting it is better for you to do so in a sport you know very well, or that at least you like to watch, this way you can significantly increase the fun you get when watching the different matches, as now you are watching your favorite sport not only because you like it but now you have something at stake, increasing your fun manyfold.

You're totally right, my friend! There's no denying that sports betting can take the excitement of the game to a whole new level. But let's face it, nothing beats the thrill of watching your favorite team win AND cashing in on a winning bet at the same time!  😎
1218  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: May 01, 2023, 09:42:50 PM
After reading many replies to my previous topic regarding wagering requirements for withdrawing a no-bonus deposit ~~
You should change the "no-bonus deposit" statement as it will create confusion here. You may use "for withdrawing normal/regular deposits" instead of it. Anyway, the list isn't completed yet. And you haven't updated it since last two weeks. I can help you to finalise the list if you want. Will you only add those casinos in the list which have at least 3× wagering requirement on normal deposits?
This is how most casinos and gamblers refer to a normal deposit without a bonus. This term is clearer than "regular deposit" in my opinion because it is rare to find a casino that doesn’t offer deposit bonuses. And beside that the term I used can be found in the T&C of most casinos while searching about how much wagering you need before requesting a withdrawal.

I agree with you on that one. If you've ever played at an online casino before, you know exactly what "no-deposit bonus" means. Using any other term would just create unnecessary confusion.

To update the list I would appreciate it if someone could share the casinos with a wagering requirement of 3x or more, and I will add it to the list. As many users have suggested, it is best to only include casinos that are discussed on Bitcointalk. I couldn’t find more than what’s in the list for now.

I remember you mentioned having a bad experience with a casino's wagering requirements. I'm totally with you on publicly calling out those kinds of platforms - it's just not fair to the players. I'll definitely take a look at any other platforms I've come across and give you the heads up if I find any more that fall into that sketchy category.
1219  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Gambling OK HASH on: May 01, 2023, 09:11:06 PM
Hey OP, welcome to the forum! So, I checked out your casino and I gotta say, I was pretty surprised by the interface. You only support mobile platforms? What gives? No desktop version at all? I'm not totally convinced that's a smart move. Sure, lots of people are using smartphones and tablets these days, but there are still plenty of folks who prefer to game on their big ol' desktop or laptop screens. Seems like you might be cutting out a pretty big chunk of potential players by not having a desktop option. What do you think?
1220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining ? on: May 01, 2023, 06:24:52 PM
Hello Bitcointalk

sorry if I been so dummy but I was hearing words like Mining BTC can someone explain to to me with simple words ?

It's great that you're interested in Bitcoin mining, but general questions like this might not get the best responses in a forum. Bitcoin mining is a vast subject that can't be explained in just a few sentences. Other members have already give you some great resources to read, and you can also use the internet search to learn the basics. Once you get a grasp of the basics, you can ask more specific questions, and the experienced members of this forum will be more than happy to help you out. Don't hesitate to ask!

I searched and found many ways but they all seem so fishy to me so if someone can give me just a small hint here

Alright, this question is a bit better, but in order for us to give you a specific answer about the mining methods you came across, we need more information from you. What ways are you talking about? What is your source of information?
