1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Satoshi Nakamoto be world's first trillionaire ? on: February 15, 2015, 11:25:37 AM
I think the real question is ... do we the people of earth actually want a or any trillionaires to exist ? ... at what point is enough enough ? ... when you have 10 dollars per every person on earth ? ... when you have 100 per every person on earth ? ... 1000? ... will the world actually be a better place if one person claims the title of "money god" ? ... never to be surpassed ever until a solar flare ends electrical society ? ... why not 1 person owns all the resources on earth and everyone else owns nothing and are permanent slaves ? ... is the natural end result of capitalism true hell for all people on earth aside from 1 person / family ? ...

Unfortunately, this is how our world works. You might like to see this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWSxzjyMNpU

I think you are betting against the site, not other players. If yes, then I wonder how do the sites are calculating odds ? Is it just guess or they are matching bets internally ?

1205  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: From holder to spender.... on: February 13, 2015, 09:06:34 PM
I've been a BTC holder for about a year and a half but I'm such a miser that I've never spent any of it.  An online shop I want to place an order with accepts BTC so I'm ready to take the plunge.  I'm thinking an Android wallet with a small balance makes sense.  Any recommendations for that software?

I also don't want everyone I spend BTC with to know my main account's balance.  What is the best way to prevent that from happening?

1206  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Missing Bitmit? Miss no more! "Ebay style" market coming with escrow! on: February 13, 2015, 08:05:30 PM
Achieving critical mass and generating network effect is the priority #1 for any market to be successful.

we actually have mailing list at http://exclusivecoin.pw where peopel signup to know when market is open.
Until the deal market was here - http://outlet.exclusivecoin.pw and actually until its made it will run there still.

we so far sold:
- few GPUs
- gridseeds
- hashlets
- hotel nights

of course bigger audience is needed but if we merge Atomic-Trade current users, followers of EXCL and all people interested in the "Bitcoin ebay" itself.. i feel we have a Chance!

we also have deals with some companies to kickstart the market with some cool things after it opens.

currently while its beeing coded we are deciding on the brand that will finally be used for it.

On which URL you are going to operate the market ?
1207  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: List of Bitcoin APIs on: February 13, 2015, 05:18:17 PM
Is there any API offered by blocktrail.com that allows to Push a Tx, e.g. https://blockchain.info/pushtx ?

not in this format, no.

You may say if it is available in any other format...
1208  Other / Meta / Re: NEED HELP on: February 12, 2015, 10:53:21 PM
I had an account here but forgot its password.
I tried to change password with forgot password link, but I forgot the email address associated with that account.

Can anyone please help me?

Have you ever posted any of your addresses on this from that account ?
1209  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: List of Bitcoin APIs on: February 12, 2015, 08:27:43 PM
Thanks for answering, that's great, the multisig makes a perfect sense from security viewpoint. On the other hand what happens terms of transferring the coins if the service provider, in this case BlockTrail goes out of business? Since the service provider won't be able to sign the transaction how the coins can be transferred from my address? The BlockTrail website states that "You're always able to spend your coins using your primary key together with your backup key", is that means 2 keys from the three (which are my key, backup key and BlockTrail's key) are enough to perform a transaction?

I am actually planning to accept Bitcoin within our business and searching for an online wallet solution that offers a robust API as well. The Blockchain.info service is a great and matured solution, but I am concerned that Blockchain.info keeps full control over the wallet, while BlockTrail claims that they address this issue by letting users retain full control over the wallet. The BlockTrail API looks good as well, it seems the team at BlockTrail has done a great job so far.

Terms of the HD wallet, again, to mitigate the risk of the service provider BlockTrail goes out of business, should users make a backup of their wallet after every transaction or how can be the coins accessible in case if the BlockTrail servers aren't operational?

Hey Tzpardi,

Again excellent question. Even if a meteor falls down directly on BlockTrail HQ and we are no longer able to sign a transaction, you STILL have access to your coins because you have 2 out of 3 keys, and two keys are always necessary to sign your transactions. So if BlockTrail is not around, you take the second key that you kept in cold storage and you sign your coins using your own two keys. You can do this manually, but we'll also be adding a tool to our SDK to help you do this easily.

The beauty of HD wallet capabilities is that you never need to backup anything except for the 'master seed'. This is because using cryptography, you can recover all your addresses (and their keys) from this master seed. So essentially, after you've secured your master seed in a safe, you never need to make a backup ever again!

Is there any API offered by blocktrail.com that allows to Push a Tx, e.g. https://blockchain.info/pushtx ?
1210  Local / India / Re: Kolkata Bitcoin Meetup - March 1, 2015 on: February 12, 2015, 07:58:22 PM

Nice initiative. I'd urge, each & everyone in and around Kolkata should attend this meetup. Once a few people show up, more will join. Try to reach out the engineering college communities in Bengal.

Good idea.
I am sure there will be a lot of enthusiasts in IIT Kgp and possibly IIMC.

My prediction : This meetup wont be successful.

Depends on how you define success. But it looks like whether it becomes successful or not, you dont want it to be successful !!!
1211  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: I hate politics on: February 12, 2015, 07:56:50 PM
lol, No party will be going to implement/regularise BTC. In India one of the strictest law regarding money.

Even you can't Western Union or Money Gram to other country from India then how you can think implementing BTC.

First they must allow us to MG/WU to other country then think about BTC. Atleast they can track MG/WU but you can't BTC easily.

What is there to implement in BTC? It is already in place.
If there are bitcoin exchanges, people can buy BTC and use it.

A lot of things can be done by the government to speed up the acceptance of Bitcoins IF they were actually interested in doing it. So far they arent and I think thats what he meant by implementation.

It is not getting into my little brain that why Govt will do something to spread a decentralized currency like bitcoin ? Is it an Indian Govt project like Chandrayaan ?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting igot.com.

Please allow 1 to 5 business days for us to process withdrawals.
What the hell is this?

They have written "Only 0% Transaction Fee "  on Main page but they are charging 0.5% fees for selling bitcoins.   Angry

I exchanged 1 bitcoin on 28th jan (Morning time) then I sold coins and did withdrawal as I needed money urgently.
I kept waiting but didn't received any funds that day so I created a support ticket as they don't have any email or phone number listed on their website.
They replied to my support ticket after 24 hours and said they need more 1-5 days for withdrawal.  Pathetic
I still haven't received any funds in my bank account yet.  Anyone have their phone number??

Ps: I received one more mail from them.

Please note: it may take 3 to 7 business days to receive your payment in your verified bank account. Established accounts can expect money within 3 business days.   Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

I believe it's a big scam and they don't have any volume on their exchange, they are just fooling customer and using customer's coins to earn money.

-- How does this make igot a scam? You sold Bitcoin, and are taking cash out. http://help.igot.com/customer/portal/articles/1388394 clearly talks about the timeline and what not. Every such thing is clearly laid down in Help section, which most people choose to not read. Help section gives you clarity on processing times, verifications requirements, and much more. We try to process all orders as soon as we can, but calling us a scam for 'what you think is a delay' is unfair. And about the daily volume, we've covered that topic over a year ago at this forum. Take the time to read it.

1. You are asking people to do video call for verification. Where is it stated buddy ?
Hi, i created my account on igot 12 days ago. I did steps for level 2 verification. 2 days ago i deposited by online banking $5000 in my igot account. Everything went well until i bought 8 bitcoins with igot credit and then wanted to withdrawal the bitcoins in another wallet because i don't want to keep the bitcoins with them. After 8 hours i still didn't got my bitcoins and i opened a ticket. After another 5 hours i get a message from this "Julie" who said that we need to setup a video call in order to withdrawal my bitcoins. What should i do ? because i don't want to make any video call, they didn't said nothing about a video call or something else when i sign up with them. Cheers

2. Your home page clearly says "Transaction fee 0%" ...then why charging "charging 0.5% fees for selling bitcoins" ?

3. Why the withdrawal time is written in such a small font size in http://help.igot.com/customer/portal/articles/1388394 ?

Payouts bigger then investments? ====> Referrals are shown too as an investment

Can you withdraw to your own address before one round is over ?
1214  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: CrazyPonzi.com - Demo Running. Play for Free. Feedback Required. on: February 08, 2015, 11:02:55 AM
I like your game concept, but in order to keep the ball rolling, the last person should get a reward instead of just being a loser, also the return must be kept low, 110% - 150% is enough

I'd like to see it reaching 200% sometimes... makes things spicy Wink
1215  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How can we create a provably fair Ponzi Game ? on: February 07, 2015, 04:25:21 PM
so u're asking with other words, how can we know when scammer will run ? u cant ...this is not gambling ... its stupidity ...

Sure it is gambling, you are gambling on the site behaving fairly.   I think odds can be calculated, but the calculations are very complex and well beyond simple math.

Anyway, any gambling site can be "hacked" at any moment.   Many have especially in the altcoin world.   Can you be sure none of those weren't the same, that is the operator just ran off with the money?

True..security is the key for all gambling based sites.. How secure is your site?

Contrary to the current Ponzi Games, you have to sign up and login in www.CrazyPonzi.com. The withdrawals are manual, but will be made daily so that one can withdraw even before a round finish. Implementation of manual withdrawal has made this site secure against hot wallet hack.

Fine. First of all I like your design & the concept. It is at least unique and not copy-cat of other Ponzi Games.

But how do you make profit ? Why will you run the game if you can not make profit ?

1217  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How can we create a provably fair Ponzi Game ? on: February 03, 2015, 10:22:58 AM
Here's a trusted ponzi:

- Declare your own funds and hand them over to a trusted escrow for insurance (For example 10BTC)
- When unpaid deposits reach the insurance amount (10 BTC), you freeze the current round and pay all unpaid deposits with escrowed BTC
- Start new round with fresh deposits

You only make money from fees

This seems like a nice idea too. AS long as you don't get any big deposits in a small time frame,  the 10 BTC don't have to be refunded and can continue with further rounds, as long as 10 BTC is never in the wallet.
But, a drawback would be, that ponzis continue for over 48 hours at time. The escrow will have to monitor the address all the time, which would not be easy to manage.

Or some system could be hard-coded in ponzi site that will automatically freeze the round when the insurance amount is met with unpaid deposits.

I think using escrow is a great option to start-off. But, I am planning to pay out daily... hence escrow will be a bit of a blockage from normal functioning.

Daily payout ? LoLz... then how will u run away with our money ? Cheesy

On a serious note, how about showing us what you are developing on ?
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Bitcoin Exchange Loses 1,000 BTC on: January 30, 2015, 02:38:15 PM
I guess another reason why we need decentralized exchanges as it seems these thefts are becoming increasingly common.

you got the point, decentralized exchanges will be a step that must be done soon or later imho, so i agree with you 100%

We already have decentralized exchange like localbitcoins...
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negativity about bitcoin is all time high! on: January 30, 2015, 02:36:48 PM
That's because the engineer over it leaked pictures and they fired him and that was their excuse, I am sure they will change their mind soon when they find a new engineer.

Which engineer leaked what ? Can u plz point to the story ?
