1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: August 18, 2023, 02:49:23 PM
I know I should also be having good nostalgia for those days, although my days were really in 2017, but they were when I was so busy researching and supporting so many projects. Investing my own money and really "following the dream". Crash hurt me so bad though that I almost left, especially because I used so much of my BTC to "diversify" into alts.

Lessons were so learned that year lol.
Some of these old moves still haunt me today, I also focused on some altcoins, I spent money on graphic cards, but I made the mistake of mining altcoins, I could have focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum only, and maybe today I would have become an Ethereum whale at least but instead I started mining shit coins, then I don't even look at those coins like they are shit, who would have thought 🤔 so?

I ended up losing everything because those shitcoins have no value after a few months, some turned to scam, we all have learned the hard way but it's a greater lesson that are worth it, at least we aren't the same person we used to be back then, and brother, that's a big achievement.

I still get temptation every now and then, especially when you see some shitcoins make massive PR campaigns but this time I treat it like a gamble, money I don't expect to get back, while never again sacrificing the precious BTC holdings that take so long to build.

I'll never be rich but I'm never gonna put BTC in losing shitcoins again.

Slow and steady, it's our biggest lesson right?
1202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now or I should still wait for the dip? on: August 18, 2023, 11:37:42 AM
Nobody thinks this is a great buy opp?
he is waiting for a couple of thousand before considering it dip, but the more she waits is the more she losses a chances.
buy now or buy never.

That will never happen at this stage. Even if it does, he won't have the time to buy it like he thinks he does. Crashes like that are sudden and will be extremely low liquidity. Even if he has a limit order which I doubt he has it won't be filled.

Classic error for newbies who think they can time, and then rally comes and they miss the ship Smiley

I dont really know what to think and what to say, both of them, because Simeone teams in the past seems to be very solid and finding again his way and ended up being not so solid and not so offensive (im talking about last 3/4 years).

But yes it seems like now they maintain a very good base, and with a little reinforcement they can be a real contender this year, for both national and champions league tournament.

It has to do with the drain his style has on mentality, you need tough players with total buy in, but their main problem is keeping the intensity for whole season. It's very tiring style, and in top leagues, even not recommended. I only think he has a chance this season because Real + Barca are weak.

BTW Bouno just left Sevilla. The movement from Europe to Middle East is really picking up, what a weird transfer year it has been so far.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: August 18, 2023, 08:52:05 AM
Rune got retired in tennis so the path is sort of clearer for Medvedev/Djokovic, but wow Alcaraz has such an easy path with Ruud out. Yes, I should not be thinking of next round before I get there!!

Wow! For a moment I thought that he retired from playing tennis. I even googled him retiring only to see that he got retired against McDonald.

Lol sorry yes I don't know if I said it wrongly but it seems there was a lot more retirements than I usually see on the same day. Even Taylor Fritz got a free pass earlier yesterday. I wonder apart from injury if there is any other reason for retirement in tennis?

The Bayern Munich-Werder Bremen match tomorrow will determine the winner of the competition between slaman29 and me. After losing the Super Cup I think Bayern Munich are going to make a strong start to the league. I hope that my prediction about this topic turns out to be correct and I can manage to advance to the quarter finals.

Anyway, Alcaraz had a hard time passing through now I'm worried about my picks, but of course first I must take care of our own PK first. I think Bayern will win for sure, but they have to let in one goal Smiley

That's amazing to know over there how complicated citizenship and all that is, here in Asia we also have our own issues, the laws are new (50+ years) and many small unique situations were not thought of.

For example in many countries here you have 10+ tribes and no longer exist as "nation" so the land they live on doesn't even recognize them saying hey you guys came from Mesopotamia like 1000 years ago, so you're not Asian lol

Singapore is the most "famous" here because almost 100% of their footballers and Olympic athletes at one point was not born in Singapore but given citizenship in return for "service" to sports. Imagine playing them and seeing Brazilian, Argentinian, African and others and noone speaks Asian language lol

Anyway, almost off topic but it's actually very relevant to laws of football for template of Italy, I think AFC is even less strict than UEFA in that regard.

Yes Sevilla its a bi-polar team, they are one thing on Europe competitions and other real diferent on the domestic league, its something that nobody cant understand how they made this year after year.

And yes its a must avoid in the 90% of the scenarios.

We can all agree but now for me the question is can we start trusting Simeone's team again? Frankly they looked like the best of all the teams that played. Real don't look secure, Barca look frustrated.

I feel like nobody is talking much about Atletico but this seems to be an opening for them again after the magic from Suarez's winning season.

It is a short summary of my faith in teams losing hope when I see my tickets like this lol. Only green is Italy football  Roll Eyes

Thank god for Bayern match, I need to know if I win or lose before Leeds. I actually really hate going to penalties, real life, watching football, or BSFL all the same, terrible lol!

Rune got retired in tennis so the path is sort of clearer for Medvedev/Djokovic, but wow Alcaraz has such an easy path with Ruud out. Yes, I should not be thinking of next round before I get there!!
1211  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now or I should still wait for the dip? on: August 17, 2023, 08:41:24 AM
Dip just happened over the last 24 hours and funnily enough, I don't see people rushing to buy but recovery looks like it's about to happen anyway.

Trick as usual is to guess if it goes even lower or if it can recover 30k.

Nobody thinks this is a great buy opp?
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 16, 2023, 01:22:26 PM
Unfortunately, I started badly in all tournaments, so I don’t compare myself with anyone yet.

I always compare, good or bad start, I think the problem is identifying what exactly was your mistake compared to others and to know if he was lucky or smart Wink

That's how I'm thinking too. I'm still getting to know other faces in these competitions so right now I'm comparing myself against Trofo and cryptofrka. While I'm better ranked against any of them, I'm happy Grin But tomorrow I'm coming home from my vacation so I'll have more time to do the research before submitting my picks.
I am actually quite bad at prediction pools like we have here. It rewards correct scores much more than ML and that is mostly luck. When betting I am betting almost exclusively on both to score and Premier League is the only one I watch regularly.

From the pools on forum this year, if I had to give my predictions, I am taking seriously only Fantasy pool and expecting that one to cover all my expenses. I will also get a couple of free bets from other pools and maybe one of the last paid positions if I get lucky in one of them.

Don't know why nobody ever mentions Saint-Loup, he is definitely the guy I paid out most from my pools, followed closely by leah. They are just quietly picking points while we talk in these pools often and take heat Smiley

Correct scores is definitely mainly luck, like when Onana didn't given penalty, 1-1 was the smart choice but 1-0 was the lucky win. I bet on ML also mainly so correct scores is not important but I do feel pools trick is to know when to go for draws.

Saint-loup took a lot last season, I don't remember if he did others?
1213  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: August 16, 2023, 11:07:40 AM
Yet another centralized crypto is not necessarily good for the industry. I mean, we already have so many options, but I guess after Coinbase and Binance went with their own stablecoin, Paypal also has to do the same.

Remember, exposure is not same as utility. Just like "buying" "bitcoin" on Paypal is not at all the same as owning real BTC.

Well done slissy and Navidart, you are both from SB chat, so know a lot about sports, seems better than us forum-ers Wink

The tie between slaman29 and me is still continuing. However I don't think at all that the match between us will go to penalties. I think especially the Bayern Munich-Werder Bremen match will be the decider. I was thinking that the players in the Dinamo Zagreb-AEK match would be calm after the incidents happened. However I wasn't still expecting less than 4 cards to be shown.

I was expecting the fans to start inciting things here too, and maybe if not players getting cards then the manager and coaching staff but in the end, seemed like both sides were very much trying their best not to further ruin the atmosphere? I should be thankful most people got 0 out of 2 though, I'm not doing well at all Smiley
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong way to accumulate. on: August 16, 2023, 07:37:49 AM
Personally, I think investors are just those who think long term and they all follow some kind of simple formula that doesn't think of Bitcoin any differently than all the other assets they may have in their portfolio.

That's the mistake most people make. They see Bitcoin as special, like it can go 10x normally just because of past growth. And you never presume in investment.
Now you should not expect such a big growth from bitcoin, or rather, growth will be expected, but it most likely will not reach such high levels as it was before. The reason is simple, the more expensive bitcoin becomes, the more money it needs in order to double. I don’t expect anything supernatural from bitcoin, x3-x5 I think it will be quite within reach in this bull market.

I don't at all, and that's my whole point in saying that the mistake most people make is thinking Bitcoin can go another 10x hence the nonsense bets of 100k by 2024, and 1 million by 2025. Not sure how you got that I thought big growth is my prediction, I'm saying majority investors have this expectation. Or should I say are told to believe it!!

I believe in $100k and even a million but not soon.

Everyone is wondering if Australia can go all the way now. Personally, I did thought USA was gonna be the one but now it has to be another favorite.

I didn't really watch but AU is actually supposedly very good but I'm sure home crowd plus ref advantage worked there Wink

I already sent my answers early, I don't think there's any point in waiting, but it's nice to see double round for cup so we know straightaway if we get to play again after this week or not, good luck CSL63!!

So good to see the last page of updates, glad that we sort out some things. It reminds me that in many casino threads on bitcointalk, users with loud complaints are usually multi accounts.

Let's hope the support issues are cleared up and a reminder this forum is not necessarily where casino support looks at!

@dimon your connection issues must be personal (device I think). Hard reinstall of browser?
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 15, 2023, 11:05:18 AM
After all upsets in the LA Liga, I have finally managed to guess correct score of the last game between Athletico Madrid and Granada. I still don't have much points, but I'm still better than Trofo and cryptofrka so I'm leased with this first round Grin

It's strange but I always measure myself against Cro2 group, KTChampions, buwaytress, I know there are many more great players including Slissy now from BSFL but somehow these guys stick to my mind a lot as really accurate betting people.

In La Liga, I trust myself the most but I know I'm super biased with Barca, that's my main weakness. I disagree with Xavi comments about ref though. Yes we know the referees are shit, but that's not why people don't watch La Liga!

Oh!! I'm so sorry all of this time I always assumed you were Argentinian meaning "native", I remember us talking about situation in football of Latin countries I forget Italy somehow is the home of Latin lol

No, yes im Argentinian 100% i born and i live here my whole life, i only have double citizenship Argentine and Italian, because italian citizenship is given by blood. And i identify myself as a 100% Argentinian. If you ask me what you are i say Argentinian, i travel with Argentinian passport, and only use the Italian one for comidity in some countries.

And all my family its pure Argentinian since the early 1900, when the italian ones comes to Argentina. But like i said legally we can opt for a italian citinzenship, and plus 80% of the country has at least one ancestor from Italy so bascially we all can have double citinzenship.

This its very important in Europe football, because Argentinian players doesnt spend the foreign player quota, because they are """"""""""from europe"""""""".

Now I understand, thank you for taking time to give the explanation. I don't really know many people in this unique situation, in my country and the same for neighbors, officially only one citizenship (passport) allowed but unofficially most of the rich people and politicians have two (one in Europe).

I had no idea Argentinian players didn't use up quota. And I followed Messi all my life not knowing this lol

So you're saying Dybala, Martinez Correa all these guys in serie A don't count as foreigners?
