1241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 21, 2013, 11:18:05 AM
Interesting the volume for USD/EUR/GBP following the silk road bust, vs the volume for CNY.

Especially compared to the relative CNY volume recently (baidu hype?)

I dunno what it all means, but its fun!

I've withdrawn one day before the rise, not my type of fun

If there are posts about religion or celebrities, then bacon is fine too

aka "a cat is fine too"

And look what this thread has turned into.

Gotta love the bible quotes. It feels like in US everyone takes his bible, underlines stuff he likes, and crosses what he does not like. Looks like a coloring book in the end. Even if someone believes that god exists (which is false Cheesy ), believing in the old ass book, written by "who knows?" and "for whatever purpose" which in fact is just a fiction. We could as well turn to Greek mythology text or Egyptian glyphs. And when someone starts to chew on bible text, trying to attack or defend some points, it feels like special Olympics.
1245  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: October 19, 2013, 07:33:02 PM
Just check out my Steam profile. All 355 games of it (at the moment).

hehe, you played every game ?
It must took a lot of  time Cheesy

I've played 42% of the games I own xD

Lmao, same I haven't played all the game I own. However, what's your favourite out of all of them?

Currently I'm binging on Hitman: Absolution, and also Hitman: Blood Money as well. Oh, and Receiver is amazingly well done.

Blood Money rocks! It's almost like two games in one depending on your mood. You can do it the "right" way with stealth or literally kill everyone. Like the casino - you can start sniping from the far reaches of the parking lot and they can't touch you if you shoot fast enough. With Deus Ex HR, I mostly sneak around, but love just going postal with Hitman.

Too bad they completely destroyed the franchise in the last game. No traditional jesper kyd for soundtrack, no traditional gameplay. I hate what square enix does to european franchises. They better stick with their jap games. Make some final fantasy 20 or something.

Everyone bored enough to watch a foreign movie with a possibly poor translation should watch this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_I_Ended_This_Summer

There's a "small form factor reactor (well kinda)" playing a big role in the movie. Funny thing about these "reactors (more like batteries)" is how some people, being a precious metal hunters, tried to take those reactors apart, only to find their death. And that is just a human stupidity. Considering a possible malevolent intent, I'd say there's no safety whatsoever in that regard.
1247  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Everyone hates environmentalists and feminists on: October 18, 2013, 03:23:43 PM
I'm up for nuclear power, but nuclear cars? You've got to be crazy.

Atomic planes are a no-no because appropriate shielding for personnel would weigh too much, same goes to the cars, AND with the rate of annual car accidents - imaging tearing that shielding off and giving nearby people a tan Smiley. Medical personnel or police approaching the vehicle should be protected too and so on.

There was a fuss about radioactive batteries for consumer electronics, but it ended nowhere, as we are to far from that technology.

EDIT: yeah, and problem of availability to general public, imagine lots of accidental poisonings, and some grease bombs.
1248  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: MOVING SALE!! GPUs and 1200 power supply! on: October 17, 2013, 06:24:46 PM
Aight, I'll see about getting photos, I was just being lazy about it.

I'd have to pull the GPUs out of the computers they are in, photograph them, reinstall everything, transfer photos to my email, download to my PC, upload to this site or even worse, some photo sharing site which I'm a member of none, then link them here... too much hassle.

PM me a phone number and I'll send photos.

I can put them on eBay for a Buy It Now auction, then someone can see them and message me and I'll stop the auction and the person gets them from me off-ebay.  That way they save a little cash, I get more from not paying fees, and ebay gets the SHAFT!  10% fees is ridiculous!!!

You could do the off-ebay deal, but then you run into the problem of chargeback scammers.

BTW, if you sell frequently on ebay, you should get their basic store subscription. It will lower your final value fee from 10% to 4%. I found this out -after- I sold 20 grand worth of computer-related equipment on ebay, so I lost a lot of money.

and how much this subscription is worth / what are the guidelines? in 2 words please
1249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Everyone hates environmentalists and feminists on: October 17, 2013, 04:59:09 PM
Wow how did I miss this thread?

My 2 cents - if those environmentalists want to be loved by public and extreme at a same time - I suggest them go to distant corners of the world and ambush some poachers or something. Or make something of themselves instead of being a typical hippie, and only after that donate your accumulated wealth to the cause.

As for feminism - every woman understands that word differently, and acts accordingly. Anti-porn feminist vs pornstar feminist (sex = empowering?) and so on.
And all of them forget their ways, when it works in their favor, to resume later.
1250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 16, 2013, 08:30:01 PM
litecoiners seeing little jump in btc price went to trade to btc, while ltc drops lower and lower
1251  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: End of Big Miners on: October 16, 2013, 08:21:53 PM
Bitcoin 2 already exists.  It's called LiteCoin.

But it's price is going down and down and down
1252  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 15, 2013, 11:53:34 AM
One more possible reason: China's biggest search engine baidu began to accept BTC:

1253  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: October 15, 2013, 11:51:01 AM
Currently trying out Might and Magic Duel of Champions (freemium TCG) and it sucks balls. Poor balancing, poor matchmaking, uncomplete interface, bugs (year after release, in a tcg game) and pay to win.

Goddamn Hearthstone beta made me try this.
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get your first bitcoin? on: October 15, 2013, 09:41:13 AM
Mined with GPU's, took some freebies on this forum.
Then spent it on game coupons and sold those on eBay

By the way one game coupon is left, Crysis 3. Will sell for 0.04btc, bought it for 0.005.
1255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp is goxing? on: October 12, 2013, 05:44:17 PM
How are they goxing?
USD withdrawals processed and arrived within 3 business days, can't even get it processed by MtGox after waiting for 3 months.
Bitcoins withdrawals processed almost instantly, can't even get MtGox broadcast it on blockchain after waiting for 5 hours.
Show me an anonymous way to convert to fiat without bank transfer commissions, as I do have the need to pay my bills time to time.
Bitcurex with BCC VISA card?  I have been using Bitcurex for years.  They never asked for any papers.  You can trade directly in EUR as well.  No currency conversion fee.

Never heard of it, will look into. Although if they are a growing exchange they may and in a same way as stamp and gox. It's a big european union country after all.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block chain size/storage and slow downloads for new users on: October 12, 2013, 12:47:38 PM
Ok, so lets assume one of Mike Hearn's microtransaction channel per person with a one year timeout was used. This way only 2 transactions would need to hit the blockchain per person per year. All the rest could be instant, micro and off the chain anonymous transactions without third party risk. The dream of every bitcoin user but:
8billion * 2kB = 16TB of data per year. With 50k blocks per year 16TB/50k = 300MB per block. Lets get there in 10 years, keep incentives to move transactions off the blockchain and nobody will complain. Even Satoshi Dice would work better with microtransaction channels anyway.

Let's not forget that a lot of applications have already started doing their transactions off the blockchain. The blockchain is only updated when coins are deposited and withdrawn.

What do you mean? Transaction = withdraw and a deposit. Did I miss something?

What he said.

I got my recent withdrawal in 1-2 days. Giving my info was a pain in the ass, they bounced back my docs 2 times, but those were my mistakes.

Btc-e does SEPA but for orders of 500eur minimal.

Localbitcoins suck so much donkeyballs that I won't even start.

I'm completely ok with Bitstamp from the very start and even after these changes.

EDIT:
I've offered to let them wire the funds to my US-based bank, which has full AML documentation for me on file and who will confirm that I am the signatory for the account.
And what would be the difference between this and sending your data yourself?
1258  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp's massive theft from customers, refusing to close accounts on: October 12, 2013, 12:33:48 PM
bottomline - this thread is FUD

I agree only on one point - that BTC should be available to move without account confirmation, for those who wanted to withdraw theirs after new regulations. If you want to trade or withdraw fiat - comply with rules.
1259  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BitStamp Account. 3BTC for 2.75BTC on: October 11, 2013, 11:43:49 PM
I am currently having the same problem with bitstamp . and worse thing is I am giving them all my legit information and they are not accepting it. I think they have figured out a way to keep peoples bitcoin. you cant verify well you cant have when you give up over time they close your account and they keep.

That's just my personal opinion

I highly doubt this...

that's really how it will turn out.

i'm not giving out personal info. if nothing works they're keeping my 3BTC. My identity is worth more than that

I've recently submitted my ID and transferred money to my bank account, was liek 1-2 days. I do not believe any other exchange offers this, I doubt you can even withdraw normally from some.

If you care about your identity - you could buy/lend some fake ID for 0.1 btc and solve your problem. I do not care about mine, cause I had to submit it lots of places locally, and I doubt their safeguarding skills, so to heck with that anyway. I believe I'm fully compromised at this point. You may believe you have not, untill this point, but most likely you have.
1260  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp's massive theft from customers, refusing to close accounts on: October 11, 2013, 11:37:08 PM
I have withdrawn my recent trade there via SEPA transfer, it arrived in a day or two, was not even checking.

Submitting ID was a pain in the ass (and last time i've withdrawn it wasn't there), but otherwise nothing like OP is going on about.
