1281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT!!! Lost 0.08 BTC [Please stay safe] on: August 01, 2018, 01:55:03 PM
It means he get price 0.08 BTC for 7 merit  Huh.
The most expensive merit trade LOL

Please double  check next time before collateral token.
From now on I will check infinite times  Cool
Thing is, when you are aware of something then you can take protections and I had no prior knowledge about this kind of tricks could be possible. We learn from experience.

When reading this thread, another scam came to mind... I'd like to warn you and other people about this as well.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2335323.msg23758209#msg23758209
Seem like this kind of attempts are happening quite often. We need more awareness so the community can get alerted.

if yishak the scammer planned for this, why did he use his original account (full member) and not a newbie account?  maybe using a full member account will have more chance at getting this loan, which he did.  it's like selling a full member account for $600.
Only yishak knows what was/is in his mind. I really hope he comes up clean. A good person can turn into bad when everything is against him. I hope that's what happened with him.

did darkstar tried sending less amount of old hydro (something like 100k) to make the transaction work?  i had similar case like this before where sending my eth token to exchange always fail no matter how high the gas setting was.

Not yet however I assume it's meaningless. It's really understandable that these were outdated tokens when yishak said sorry to me.

A useful lesson thanks for sharing it, sucks that you had to be the fall guy that learned it the hard way.
Someone had to pay for the lesson, it was overpriced though  Undecided I am happy that this experience will alert you as well since we both are in same business (kind of).

I can probably do it within an hour in almost any altcoin thread, but it feels so useless.
For reporting homograph spambots (to get the user accounts banned, not just the post deleted), I can report about 40 in 15 minutes. Seeing them all nuked is very satisfying!

I don't think you can  Tongue
The time between two reports for me is 9 seconds. So for 300 reports you will need 2700 secs meaning 45 pure minutes. Add up the seconds that needs to move from one page to another. Say 2 seconds each that's 600 more secs which is more 10 minutes. This is only in theory though. You really think practically you can?  Grin

PS: Consider the frustration of doing same thing for total of 55 minutes without a break  Tongue

1284  Other / Archival / Re: Do i need a license if i want to create a crypto gambling site? on: August 01, 2018, 03:54:04 AM
~

Something which is online is hard to track where the customers are coming from unless you set a geographical exceptions like - only the UK customers can visit your website. In that case having an UK license is easy. Have a look on here: https://www.gov.uk/set-up-business

No matter you set geographical exceptions or not having a business license actually secure your personal asset if anything goes wrong with your business and if you had to liquidate it in future. The law can be different for countries so I suggest to check with your local lawyers who knows about online and crypto industry. You probably end up finding them online if you know where to look.
1285  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: August 01, 2018, 02:45:56 AM
It will fix itself when the profile is parsed, but I will take a look.
It's showing the correct data now.

I know how to fix it, I've just been refraining from modifying live stuff. It'll be fixed soon Tongue
That's all it counts, I will check it later and will remind you if you forget it.

PS: Keeping up with the numbers?

You need one more merit  Tongue
1286  Economy / Lending / Re: 📌📣📢 mdayonliner's quick loan service [Available NOW] on: August 01, 2018, 01:41:17 AM
Hello mdayonliner, is it okay if you extend my loan for another day? Looks like I will not receive payment til tomorrow from my client. They were supposed to pay yesterday but they said maybe tomorrow.

Quote from: grace
ok, i submit the invoice to the accountant yesterday. they may deposit to you tomorrow.
That's not a problem at all. I am totally okay with it.
1287  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 0.01 btc loan on: July 31, 2018, 07:23:58 PM
You're seriously trying to push a 20% interest rate upon him for a one day loan, without letting them know beforehand?
No, actually LOL... Read...

...or any interest rate you are comfortable with.

0.002BTC is a suggestion only like jackg said. I will even be happy with the tx fee honestly speaking. jacee is free to pay any interest rate.
1288  Other / Meta / Re: Community Thread - How BitcoinTalk Accounts Are Hacked? on: July 31, 2018, 04:22:54 PM
If you have not posted that addy elsewhere, it probably won't be accepted.

We don't actually accept the profile field address unless there's some sort of proof that it's remained unchanged, for that very reason.

I'm working on a new address-staking system which will automatically handle signatures, etc. Might have it ready by the end of the month if nothing else comes up to consume my time.

Fantastic, thank you.

Please mentioned a single member of bitcointalk.org who has got legendary membership after the introduction of merit point system.
Never mind, I give up Tongue
Let me take it from here and end it here again.  Grin

To become a legendary it needs  775-1030 activities and 1000 merits. You have problems with merits so let's keep it aside. Let's say the lowest activities is 775 to become a Legendary.

If every 14 days you get 14 activities then you will need 775 days minimum.
30 days to make a month: 775/30 = 25.83 ≅ 26 months
12 months to make a year: 26/12 = 2 years 2 months.

Merit system has been introduced only less than 7 months ago. Stay around for more 19 to 20 months (I doubt you will), you will see legendaris who will be around to prove you 100% wrong. You don't have to be a super man to earn merit. Just stop posting shit and be a community person.

Is merit point system really working? - YES

One Person has only one account ? They can have multiple accounts

No fake account present on bitcointalk.org ? Not fake better to say ALTs and already answered

Only high quality contents are present on bitcointalk.org - NO, there are garbage like this as well

No fake airdrop or bounty campaign posted on bitcointalk.org - BitcoinTalk is not liable

Proper distribution of merit point system is present ? Depends on the person who is sending out his merit.

The answer is No, I think there should be a KYC verification system and mobile verification system present on bitcointalk.org. You just woke up, you have no idea how this forum work

Why merit point owner should give his earned tokens to other users. I do not have to give my (earned) token to anyone, I keep them on my wallet
1291  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: July 31, 2018, 02:47:18 PM
@Vod I guess I am seeing some wrong data on the Merit field.

I have 227 merit now however on the BPIP it shows 233. I would have consider it's not a error if the number was smaller than my original since it takes time to scrape however the number is higher so, somehow it's counting duplicate data.

Hmm, someone needs to fix that lower-left corner - I'm pretty confident it was rounded before the site launched lol.

Now it's right corner.

1293  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 31, 2018, 12:50:22 PM
Possible, but not many users are willing to do it.
I have to admit it's a boring and robotic job LOL

Quote
I guess with the incentive of badges it will increase the likelihood of users that didn't report before to start too, but that's only a good thing in my opinion.

The badges will work like tonic IMO. Members will see the badges on other profiles or under their usernames and they will get curious to know about it. Out of curiosity they will start reporting and who knows from them we may find someone who will wear the toppest badge.

Imagine every single member has reported at least 10 posts - meaning 428,364 * 10 = 4,283,640 (over 4 and a quarter millions) reports! Welsh and other mod gang... get ready for the biggest flood of the history  Tongue
1294  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT!!! Lost 0.08 BTC [Please stay safe] on: July 31, 2018, 12:40:26 PM
by reading your story, I am sad because you lost a lot of bitcoin. In using this kind of thing, you need to be more selective so that the events you are experiencing do not reoccur. And for the reader of this tread, be careful if you will use your coin in any activity
This is the whole point of creating the topic also to get the account tagged by the DT's. I hope the topic is spreading enough awareness to the members. I am also having a link on my signature space to help to spread the news. I hope more members will notice it and get the idea to avoid the tricks from the scammers. So far I know including me there are two other members who experienced (aTriz, jackg) the same. There must be a lot of other people are also getting scammed daily using the same method around the cryptospace and we have no clue about them.

The case marlboroza mentioned from ICOethics's PM is also a case to be alarmed.

They really can't, as I said, you are not really sending tokens to exchange, you are sending tokens to ethereum wallet which is owned by exchange.
This make sense actually.

Quote
Tokens in darkstars_'s wallet are not burned
Those token hasn't burned yet. They have an address to burn the tokens (x-1 number). Until anyone send the token to that address they stay alive (fake and useless thought)

Quote
I have never scammed anyone except this time   Roll Eyes
Hard to believe however the only way to justify that he is telling the truth is - to wait few months. Let's see if he pays it back or not. I hope he sort out his stuffs (if it's real) and comeback clean.

... don't know why they waste their time doing this when they have so much intelligence, you lost $600 - think of how quickly he could have earnt more than that actually using his skills in some way by hiring them out?
Unfortunately this is the world we are living. People waste their intelligence to find the shortcuts where with a little hard work they could turn it to something better and bigger. They could earn more or to have a prestigious life.

Perhaps the place for this topic is the Scam Accusations section. If you have any evidence or anything that can back up your complains then update the OP with additional contents and also move it to Scam Accusations board. I am not sure how it should be dealt though.

There is a hope, and I hope I am not spreading a rumor  Smiley

IIRC, the PM was from ~1 month ago and theymos said that he would try to code it in a few weeks. So it should be out soon. So it will definitely be available in the current forum software (SMF), and not only when the new software comes out.
You realize a number of eye balls are looking at you now?(!)  Smiley

I can not wait to see the outcome. More or less all of us actually worried about the account security and the time it takes to recover.
