Here is a question: If one had 1000 Bitcoins, today, and you wanted to hide any connection to yourself, using an altcoin how would one do it? Not that I only have 1000 BTC

POW finished a while ago. Only 25M coins in total. Looks like it is now less easy to pick up volume.

MP looks scary right now...
I just picked some more coins up. Quite happy about it.

Detailed information and announcements will be published through August in this thread and on AEON website.
Is any of this on the website yet?
|
|

With just 3 btc AEON can go from 0.00000221 to 0.00010000. i dont know why this coin is struggling with price. i realy don't understand.
Does the coin have a dev team or an active developer or any plans or goals or any community?

I love XC.. Bought some more earlier, not alot, 12 XC, but that's a lot for me 12? You need more. What is your XC address?
|
|
|
Is the developer still around?
|
|
|
So far I have not seen anything about XC that impresses me.
What dev teams do impress you. If you can show me a better dev team on any of the coins here, I'll buy some. Seriously. I'm not committed to XC, the team just looks the best to me. They seem to work very fast, to deliver ,and to have good previous experience for what they are doing See poll results. Good teams fail all the time, see xerox. Also Ethereum. And zerocoin. And Vtc. I was merely explaining why I like XC. What coin/s do you like, and why?

I think XC will succeed, They seem to have the best dev team, and are building an entire platform. It will also work without anonymity

Dan's seen both my router's ports open and my firewall exceptions to not only the program but also ports specific to the program. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't you say it doesn't work for you either due to being on a university network? Regardless, it doesn't work for everyone and whether all the bugs are suppose to be out by 2.5 or 3.0, it should still be something to focus attention on for mass adoption. Hell, if it doesn't work on university networks, a large portion of the demographic (18-35) interested in crypto could have issues.
If it was human error, then it should have been something extremely easy to fix on any number of the remote sessions Dan and I had. The end result is private transfers do not go out to the network/nodes but regular incoming/outgoing is fine. Whether it does nothing due to having it set as unlock for staking only and entering passphrase on sends or unlocking completely before initiating and getting the error 101, it doesn't work. Dan said it definitely shouldn't be doing the 101 error.
To truly say it's working should mean works for everyone. 99% is not 100%, especially as more and more users are downloading wallets and wanting to try out features. Any regular Joe should be able to download the wallet and send anon transfers and that simply isn't the case in its current state.
Thanks

Oblox, what's your agenda?
You know full well that Privacy Mode is a Rev 2 thing, that XC's doing XChat now, and that we'll be finishing off Privacy Mode with the final Rev 2 update LATER.
So why do you persist with this?
For heaven's sake.
OK, so if privacy mode is not supposed to be working until Rev 2...what is Oblox saying Dan was going to help him with?

What is wrong with you people, what kind of nonsense is that? XC is 100% decentralised, its like the very exact thing you are posting? relying on TOR AND CENTRAL SERVER? WTF
Well, to be fair it's hard to keep track of every coin. And things change very fast XC wasn't even a round a few months ago

For those who don't know Dan Metcalf and and Evan Duffield came to an agreement that neither "side" would FUD the other's coins, and they asked that we would all abide by that.

Can someone explain my how its possible that yesterday we had many news but price is still about 170??
Most crypto's are really just trading coins, where people try to sell high and buy low. So I'd say there is a fair amount of this happening in XC too. Big picture it still looks fine https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/xcbtcIt's like a magic show if you ask me full of misdirection. Whoever is dumping for no reason is at very least looking to create week hands and uncertainty in the market. But no one dumps "for no reason". They may need the money. They may think they can double there money on another coin. They may have drawn a line in the sand and said if the price is not "x" by this date I will sell. They may just want to clear their mind and rethink things. They may have too many coins and want to reduce their exposure. Thing is even though there have been dumps lately the price seems to be going up slow and steady It is. that seems clear.

I did hear on a troll box somewhere that XC is dependent on TOR for its anonymity. Is that true?
No, the TOR stick is an additional piece of the pie. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=630547.msg8246625#msg8246625XC is decentralised but TOR gives an added level of anonymity, because TOR will also hide your ISP At least that is how I understand it. Even with a fully anonymous coin, one could still conceivably see what ISP's are active (in some way), so TOR is an extra addition. With XC every wallet can be a node through which transactions are broken up encrypted and routed, and this it how it is decentralsed. Though I stand to be corrected on this.

This doesn't belong here. This is a thread about XC. I am sure there is a proper forum in which discussion about that issue should take place, but it's not here. Thanks for discussing at least, and I apologize for bringing up the past discussion, but the shill account by his wife and other scam site "coinsflip.com" that they backed (which was owned by Jasin) shows how he misleads. You are correct though, XC is not Jasin, but Jasin is involved, and will soon have a much larger negative weight to the coin regardless of his past work. I will not mention it again in this thread. One of the very important points that got me interested in XC was Dan's openness. So that is very important to me. It is also important to know about the team, so thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't know that I believe it as I have not read the other thread or heard the other side of the story
