I didn't mention it earlier but I believe that will be the lowest price of electricity among the co-op miners. From discussions I've had with him, he appears willing and able to assist in hosting a HashFast Baby Jet and that electricity rate is exceedingly inexpensive. He's studying the CCNA curriculum shortly. We should be able to work together as a team, with jungle_dave (a former network engineer) joining us and agreeing to be my emergency 2nd/3rd if you folks haven't heard from me in an emergency & the deposits are just sitting there. jungle_dave and BeepBeep2 both have my IRL workplace.

The 2nd largest shareholder has declined my invitation to be a co-admin, so I extended to invitation to be a co-admin/emergency backup to jungle_dave who has the right exp./background for remote administration/troubleshooting.

BeepBeep2 has been vetted by myself personally, I even invited him to a summer or year round internship if he's ever in Hawaii. He's already mining (with GPUs) and actually has more experience then me in bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining.

However: we should all have concerns in trusting someone that we all just met online. I've vetted your ID and feel comfortable about your address so there's no need to ask for your ID. For anyone that is willing to host our co-op's miner, they will need to answer a question for the group:

* Since they own it too, with sufficient prior notice would you be willing to have one of the co-op members be willing to stop by for a quick visit if they were visiting or living in the area?

If you're willing to say yes to this, I'm willing to put this up for a vote for the good of the Co-op. If another member could arrange a safe meet up in a highly visible place, that could help with trust issues all around. If you were willing you could allow them access (pref. with other adults around for safety) at least once that could go a long way in alleviating distrust.


Question to the Co-op:
Does anyone else live in the Northeast part of the country? Hope, you don't mind me at least giving the rest of the co-op your geographic region. firsttimeuser is a few states away, so I don't think that's feasible for any kind of IRL meet up.

In return for hosting this, to help make it worth his while, his hosting/management fee of 2.75% will be waived completely, and in fact he will receive a 1.5% Hosting Payout to help pay for electricity costs and time incurred dealing locally with our miner (and perhaps other miners). If this works out well, this could be a nice little sideline hosting service for our man BeepBeep2.

For now though, I'll await your response to my proposal as we still have another 2 months to change colo sites. If BeepBeep2 agrees, I will open up the hosting proposal for weighted voting, with me voting last and heeding to the will of the popular weighted vote.

Refunds

Refunds are highly discouraged because of the fast paced, quickly changing nature of Group Buys. Also, your Group Buy Coordinators put a lot of time, money, collateral (optional for miner payouts), and effort into trying to bring you Group Buyers the best prices in the world. Please appreciate and respect this forum's Group Buy Coordinators as the unheralded miner/speculator assets that they are.

Group Buy Coordinators AND vetted ASIC miner hosts have to be willing to risk jail/fines for the opportunity to serve you with the web's lowest prices on ASIC hardware and ASIC hosting.

However, according to the T-shirt I saw in the CBS version of the movie Forrest Gump: it happens. When it happens: an emergency, we understand and will work with you to make sure you get a speedy refund. However, there are applicable Refund fees:

- BTCrow keeps their 1% fee for services already rendered

- The DZ GBEC Cooperative will refund you half of our fee (the 1% share markup) for setting up this Escrowed Group Buy on BTCrow. The BTC refund from our Co-op should be equivalent to 0.5% of the Escrowed share price.

- The GBC may also impose their own minimal restock fees for having to relist your shares (suggestion: 1%)

Refund restock fees are therefore: 1.5 - 3% of your Escrowed share sale price, with this percentage dependent on the GBCs discretion.

Other than that, please DO NOT invest funds into a Group Buy in this forum unless you intend to hold the BTC assets in place until the deal comes to fruition. DO NOT INVEST YOUR RENT, MORTGAGE, CAR PAYMENTS, FOOD MONEY, OR EVEN SHORT TERM EMERGENCY FUNDS IN A GROUP BUY.

Remember: although this is ESCROWED and COORDINATED, there are outside risks that we cannot be responsible for. BTCrow provides all 3rd party dispute and arbitration. However, having the DZ GBEC Cooperative on your side can be a powerful ally if the evidence is strongly on your side. GBECs must absolutely despise scam and fraud to be a GBEC in this co-op. We will fight tooth and nail for those harmed by the illegal behavior of others. [Future promise: When we're ready & if we can organize other GBCs to agree, we intend to take on ASIC manufacturers about "No Refund" Policies and perhaps make them reconsider it, at the threat of the loss of a major conduit of institutional and co-op miners via this GB forum]

The Cooperative will cooperate with any, and all, local, national, and international authorities to catch scum sucking sockcuckers that think that it's ok to steal or defraud others from their hard earned money/BTC. Sorry, this collateral service for miner payouts will need to be offered by a True Escrow Depository, such as John K. or BTCrow, who will need to be contacted for details/info.

Buyers will more readily trust a Group Buy from new or relatively new GBC attempting to organize a Group Buy if they see that the GBC seems to be risking his job/freedom as well as sufficient collateral to NOT be that douchebag that scams and steals from others via the interwebs. Seriously. Don't be that d-bag. When fraud is almost nonexistent on this forum, Group Buyers will feel more secure about their transactions and the Group Buy economy, as a *whole* will grow in both size and variety.

3) Setting up a number of Escrow protected sales of shares in pre-order ASIC equipment at BTCrow, receiving payments on behalf of the Group Buy Coordinators and Group Buyers, and notifying buyer/seller of any BTC related activity at BTCrow, with copies of receipts, WRT to your Group Buy..

4) Once all payments are received AND released by ALL Group Buyers, purchasing and arranging shipping details to a majority group approved hosting or colocation facility will be handled . Any left over BTC, will be handed back to the GBC for hosting fees.

Refunds

Refunds are discouraged for the chaos they cause Group Buys and also because it can slow down the pre-order for everyone else, which isn't fair. However, emergencies happen in real life and sometimes people need to back out of their Group Buys.

In the event of a refund, BTCrow keeps their 1% fee and we refund you half, or 0.5%, of our 1% fee. In total, your refund fee is 1.5% Most Group Buy Share refunds have a 3% fee!

Refund rates are set at the share price at the time the Group Buy was set up (the GBC should define this & include a currency volatility model, if possible). My name is DyslexicZombei, DZ for short, an ASIC miner & speculator just like you. I love the BTC economy and the future and promise that BTC holds for people all over the world. I recently organized my first Group Buy and experienced first hand, the trials and tribulations of a Group Buy Coordinator or a GBC, for short. I'm a former Senior Electronics Technician and a current Network Engineer at an R&D lab who's had my identity and LinkedIn profile vetted by John K. Escrow.

-- I am going to carve myself out a niche here as this forum's first Group Buy Escrow Coordinator or GBEC, for short, to help out both buyers and sellers. I am *NOT* an Escrow Depository. However, as an approved BTCrow affiliate I can set up automated escrowed transactions via their online Escrow Service with manual, 3rd party dispute resolution via BTCrow which include a post sales inspection period of 7-14 days for the buyer (up to 120 days for longer GBs like ASIC chip preorders; 1.2% GBEC fee).

Miner Payout Risks for New Group Buy Coordinators:

** We cannot hold collateral funds from GBCs. You will have to set up some sort of separate solution for collateral/hostage funds for your good behavior on miner payouts such as contacting John K., BTCrow, or another escrow service **

Example: if your normal share price is 1 BTC, I sell it to you with escrow protection at 1.01BTC on behalf of the GBC and Group Buyers to help facilitate and speed up the Group Buy. Half of this markup "fee" is refundable if the Group Buy fails for whatever reason at the terms the Group Buy Coordinator has set as an expiration date or if Buyers seek a refund. So: If your Escrowed share price is 1.01BTC, you would be refunded exactly 1.00495BTC (irrespective of transaction fees) , which is 99.5% of the value of escrowed share price, with the 0.5% share price refund rest kept as a Service Fee. At 5.05 milli-BTC kept as a fee per 1BTC share refund (*before* blockchain transaction fees), we're not exactly out to get rich off of share refunds

- 1% is paid to BTCrow for their services as a BTC Escrow service and 3rd Party Dispute Resolution (up 120 days for ASIC chip pre-orders*! 1.2% Share price markup) ; their services are non-refundable.

*This 120 day dispute resolution window applies only to ASIC chips and long lead time items like Cases, Fans, PSUs meant for ASIC miners like HashFast or BitFury miners, for example.

The Problems:

1) Sellers POV: For a new or would-be Group Buy Coordinator it can be difficult to set up a successful Group Buy without Escrow Protection. Unfortunately, the BTC escrow agents are very busy and can only service a portion of the Group Buy community. Setting up and closing out an escrowed transaction can also be slow which is costly in terms of lost ROI.

2) Group Buyers POV: Group Buys are scary enough as it is, many buyers want the guaranteed Escrow protection of their BTC assets and 3rd Party Dispute Resolution that comes built in with Escrow Depository services and the safety of knowing that their BTC purchased shares can't be stolen or the funds taken without recourse.

3) Try to make it automated or most of it automated [Tip 'o the hat to CanaryInTheMine] while still keeping buyers safe.

Our Co-op is NOT an Escrow Depository. We don't hold anyone's BTC; BTCrow holds it in escrow until the pre-order is ready to be paid and all buyers release BTC funds upon notification of a Completed ASIC Pre-Order Group Buy..

Only when the Group Buy is sold out and the pre-order is made by the Group Buy Coordinator or the GBEC Cooperative on behalf of the Group Buyers, and after the funds are released by every one of the Group Buyers involved will BTC be released to the Co-op as your official expediter/order organizer. The delivery address must be agreed to by the weighted majority of the Group Buyers. BTCrow usually handles digital goods or physical items but I've found a way to use their automated Escrow services for digital goods to suit our purposes. BTCrow has been made aware of this plan.

In this case, our GBEC Co-op is selling you a completed Escrowed Group Buy Pre-order on the ASIC equipment of your choice (to also include ASIC chips, fans, cases, PSUs!)

We also don't handle Dispute Resolution either during or post-sales, that's also handled by BTCrow. What we do handle is Coordinating, Expediting, and Finishing your Escrowed Pre-order or Wholesale Group Buy on ASIC or ASIC related hardware. However, if the "marriage" fails 5 months later or so, you cannot expect to hold the "Priest" or the Coordinator responsible for THAT disaster.

I firmly believe that the Open Source model I came up (or one with slight mods) will serve as a template for all other would-b Group Buy Escrow Coordinators (GBECs)that may follow my lead or join my GBEC co-op I'm starting. I believe this GBEC co-op I'm setting up will be able to offer both the quickest setup steps and finished pre-order process (sales/delivery location) then normal Escrow Services that serve a huge variety of BTC transactions fees instead of the niche services (with speed) I propose. This forum's grown too big & it needs its own specialized tools/services to facilite Escrowed transactions.

CLARIFICATION: BeepBeep2 and myself are charging no fees for this transaction, as this is a prototype and the first of its kind offer for Group Buy Escrow *Coordination* services. More details to follow (my Magnum Opus to this forum   ) but I'm excited about the possibilities of lowering the risks to entry for both Buyers and Sellers while offering automated Escrow Protection. It essentially involves me selling BB2 (and Group Buyers) a completed Pre-Order at the exact moment when all the BTC funds are finally held in Escrow by BTCrow. Essentially, I'm going to be selling completed Pre-Orders as a GBEC and all the Group Buyers involved do *not* release their funds until all the Group Buy payments are in and the Miner(s) or other ASIC equipment (wholesale cases, fans, PSUs, chips) are ready to order. It may sound complicated, but don't worry, I'm writing an easy to understand guide for Buyers, Sellers, and those that wish to join me in this new GBEC co-op.

Anyway, for those that want automated Escrow Protection with a 3rd party dispute resolution mechanism behind their Group Buy Purchases or Sales, please feel free to reserve your CoinTerra shares with BB2 knowing that your funds will be protected by escrow by BTCrow. He will PM me to let me know an automated payment transaction needs to be set up. What's great about this service is you will have some method to dispute the transaction, even post sales. BB2 has thought this through well and seems to have thought of many contingencies.

However as a Coordinator & Expeditor with a mind for network redundancy, I do recommend some sort of co-admin backup selection process for emergency purposes. Miners and network admins tend to do well in this role..

You should also discuss how it can be protected against theft; if possible. And whether any home owner or business owner insurance can help recoup losses from having ASIC hardware stolen or damaged in natural disasters.

I've enjoyed our coaching & mentoring sessions so far. I've found him to be a bright, ambitious, hard working person that appears to be a well intentioned Group Buy Coordinator. He can confirm for you that I have contacted him from my work email address for a recruitment pitch to join my R&D lab IRL as a student intern during a summer stay on a number of islands or as a side job during grad work if he continues his IT career in this fashion. It's an honor that I wouldn't extend to just anyone. He's young but he appears capable of both coordinating & running a Group Buy for 1 miner as well as be able provide remote Admin/troubleshooting services to the ASIC miner as someone who plans to enter the field of Computer Networking.

I believe I've found a way to use BTCrow's automated escrow and payment process with available dispute resolution services to our advantage. When I say "our" I mean that:  it's beneficial to both Group Buyers *AND* Group Buy Coordinators (GBCs) that need to set up an escrowed GB. Even if you're in a Group Buy without escrow protection, you'll still be able to buy your shares of that non-escrowed GB and get escrow protection when you buy your pre-order share through me (held by BTCrow). I will notify the GBC, BB2 and cc the buyer, of the transaction for record keeping.
 
My wife wasn't too fond about doing a loan off of 401(k) assets and/or a bank loan to set up an Escrow Depository, but I am the Mr. Fix It of this Group Buys forum here to help you set up escrowed transactions quickly and close them out quickly so you can secure your earliest placing in the shipping queue.

I believe I can offer a trusted Escrow service as an official BTCrow Affiliate so I can focus on what I do best, which is to be a Group Buy Escrow *Coordinator* (GBEC): whose job it is to help others, fix problems, and expedite escrow protected sales and ordering. I have made BTCrow aware of my intentions via links because I am all about transparency of process for everyone and it appears that they approve of what I'm trying to accomplish for the GB forum.

By the way: I was contacted by a co-op member that had an emergency. There's 4 shares available from user abdullahadam if you'd like to contact him directly.

If you pay him BTC directly for his share(s) at 1.55BTC ea., he can PM me and I'll cc John so he knows ownership has changed to whoever bought his share(s). This way he doesn't have to incur 1% fees and I don't have to relist it. I may buy 1 or 2 more shares for a colleague I just saw on Maui today & who loves to invest/speculate in case he's interested, but I'll let you guys (or your friends/fam.) get first crack at it.

I was going to refund him with a 0.1% "restock" fee, if you guys (or whoever happens to lucky enough to be reading this at the moment) don't buy his shares first. Told ya I specialize in Win/Win deals.

Looks like they're busy, busy bees which is probably a good thing. I think with most of the miners sold, I'd rather they get the tapeout finished without incident then spend time updating us. 

Did you see the news they posted about how easy it should be to build these things? Pfft! You guys don't need me to build it! Your average Geico hairy dude should be able to put one together.

Hmm, perhaps we should compare electrical costs to consider any one of us to host it. We're like 50 cents a KwH on Kauai, so that knocks me out of contention right off the bat.

Anyone else want to volunteer to host & can list their electricity rate? We can all vote among the choices that are volunteered.

I believe I need one more wallet address and the spreadsheet's complete. I know I said I'd post it earlier but I've been a super busy bee - and you guys already knows how it's divided - basically trying to create a new niche on GB forum facilitating things. I heard back from John, he's really busy with family matters so I guess we should be lucky we were able to get his services before he got too busy. He also did NOT say no to my proposal to team up or have him take me under wing so there's still hope Obi Wan!

Need to head to a Maui lab for work tomorrow, so I might be back a bit late. I do have some co-op related news and a possible host facility change due to a co-op member who's contacted me with an offer of hosting. That & the "winning" colo site losing ground in my book due to slow response time after we initially began.

We would need a majority decision for this. I told the member that they would need to take pics of their mining rigs so we can get comfortable that he'll take care of the equipment & that we would vote on it, if I think the move is a good move for all of us. This member has a share of somewhere between 5-20% of the miner.  

P.S. The balance of the BTC has been returned back to me & will remain there for our hosting fees, which, if we agree via weighted majority, could be diverted to one of our co-op members instead of some blood sucking corporation that doesn't really care about or understand our weird little box.

I need to publicly retract my offer of ESCROW DEPOSITS for now, until I get permitted and bonded and/or can work out an acceptable affiliate deal.

I will still offer Coordinator Services alone for now which would include coaching and mentoring for your Group Buy at 0.1% of your proposed Group Buy. So: some pie on my face for jumping the gun but doggoneit if you might not have saved me some headaches by stepping into such a murky area.
