1301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU Mining altcoins on: June 21, 2023, 06:24:57 PM
If you want to mine on CPU, buy Ryzen 2000, 3000 & 5000 series from the second hand market.
3000 & 5000 series basically have same performance for most mining algorithms. Ryzen 1000 just might work if you get them for free as I see people offloading them for real cheap these days. But power consumption might not be optimal for the performance.

They are usually cheap enough for it to be "manageable" if you are adventurous to take a potential no win scenario but just break even.
Don't buy the newest stuff because you will never get back the investment in time.

I don't do this myself but looked into it briefly at times. It's never profitable to put in as a investment but if you have a large cache of used parts it could be done as a side hobby.

If you are upgrading your main PC just for the latest & greatest, your old PC's could be used for this unless you want to hand it over to someone else to be sold or such as parts.
Used parts market have a large supply of potential cheap processors to be used these days with decent performance per unit to be much better than buying the newest generation.

Though GPU mining is much easier to setup & get a return faster.
The payback of such a computer in mining is very doubtful, most likely never. Have you studied processor prices now? The Ryzen 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 series processors do not have motherboards for multi-processor installation, so for each processor you have a lot of additional costs for components and additional power consumption when mining.

Exactly. You can only profit if you have already build computers with such processors that for example like I have permission to use work PC-s to do whatever I like as long as I get the job done, you may have also permission of doing so and this means you are mining free of cost and you can try any CPU coins,I have gone with Raptoreum and this is a gamble I am more than willing to make as if this coin hits its previous all time high of almost 0.09 I would be a very happy man and I would be a super happy man if it reaches a new all time high in the next bull run.
What do you do at work if your work computers are busy mining? Smiley
I would probably pay my employee an extra $30 a month so that he does not do extraneous business on working PCs, which after mining will need more frequent cleaning and replacement of thermal paste and of course a good cooling system.

Not only mining,I have also virtual machines running and other financial programs that I monitor as I am the IT so it is like a Operation Center room my office and no one says a thing to me as long as I get the job done and bring money to the company by having their systems in uptime and working as much as possible  Grin.

I am mining with the CPU so not a lot of maintenance is need for CPU mining and I don't see any decrease in performance,I don't do mining because I am badly in need of money but why don't do it when I can and at 0 cost,it is a no brainer I will do it.
I am also an IT engineer. Running other programs, such as miners, threatens me not just with dismissal, but with kicks in the face Smiley
I understand that if the CPU power is not used even by half, then you can start mining to get coins, but it's a big difference when mining on ownerless equipment and when mining on a PC or server that performs work processes in the company.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $BANANO Mining Tutorial Using CPU or GPU (Also How to make a Wallet) on: June 21, 2023, 06:11:43 PM
Do you write your Mining Tutorial based on your experience or do you use information from the internet?
This token is very cheap, and the reward for activity must be large in order to pay off the work of the mining farm.
https://banano.cc/
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/banano/markets/
I don't use windows for mining.
I used to mining this token, but I forgot the estimation income about this mining.
Not only for windows, but also able to do mining in other os which was provided.
When did you receive the reward in these tokens?
This token looks like a dead man.
I would make guides for forward looking coins like CFX that have been pumped recently. CFX mining is also very risky now, but more profitable than BANANO mining.
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to Care (Maintenance) Laptop that Used for Mining on: June 21, 2023, 05:59:46 PM
Hello friends, in this thread I will tell all the ways to take care of laptops that used for mining.

It's not the beginning of 2022. Video cards are very cheap, and it’s not worth buying laptops for mining now. Many laptops after mining are sold in 2023, it is better to write a few tips on how discount lovers should not buy such laptops. I would be wary of laptops that were bought at the peak of ethereum mining and have video cards that could mine ethereum.

Exactly, the power efficiency in Mhsh from a laptop is very little compared that with the price of a normal range laptop with a medium GPU you can probably build a full rig now for the same price as the GPU prices are considerably down and they will be further down looking at the situation that we have now.

The OP can of course use Nicehash or any other pool that supports Bitcoin payouts and be happy,no need to go the laptop route unless you have an existing laptop that has a good GPU and you don't use that laptop for any other thing.
I follow graphics card sellers who sell after-mining graphics cards, and they've started to sell a lot of laptops with RTX 3060 and other graphics cards.
This means that laptops are useless for mining and are sold at good discounts, but these are also risks.
1304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will mining altcoins on video cards be relevant in the next bull cycle? on: June 21, 2023, 05:50:39 PM
Next year’s new currency will not need to be mined. It is very likely that it will explode or even die in the next bull market.
In order for miners to start buying new video cards and assembling mining farms, it is first necessary that the profit of working mining farms be good. Or wait another 6-12 months for the GPU miners to get rid of the hardware.Who bought new video cards of the 4xxx series for mining, they will pay off for a long time.

Nvidia announced a $26.97 billion revenue in the 2023 fiscal year, $26.91 billion in 2022, and $16.67 billion in 2021. However, it only paid a few hundred millions in annual income taxes during that period.

The company reveals in its financial statements that it recognized income tax expense of $189 million, $77 million, and $174 million for fiscal years 2022, 2021, and 2020 respectively. Its annual effective tax rate was 1.9%, 1.7%, and 5.9% for fiscal years 2022, 2021, and 2020, respectively.

1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia products for AI on: June 21, 2023, 05:36:09 PM
Chinese publication Jitwei revealed that ByteDance has already ordered around $1 billion worth of Nvidia GPUs in 2023 so far, which amounts to around 100,000 units split between Nvidia's A100 (ordered before the US government told Nvidia to stop selling its top-performing HPC cards to China, back in August 2022) and H800 cards - that last series number corresponding to a Hopper-based custom accelerator Nvidia built to comply with export restrictions — a nerfed cameo of the H100 accelerator. Nerfed or not, Nvidia's Average Sale Price (ASP) seems to sit at around $10,000 per accelerator.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/chinas-bytedance-has-gobbled-up-dollar1-billion-of-nvidia-gpus-for-ai-this-year

ByteDance (TikTok) will make money on AI by selling video cards 2 times more expensive, because in China the prices for such models have already increased Smiley

NewEgg

A video card with an MSRP at $379 sells for $200.
And what kind of profit then do AMD and large stores get from one video card, if they can cut MSRP prices by more than 40%?
And then they say that gamers buy video cards Smiley

Hi LOLminer, can you please help to add the ability to mine apepe on GPU? See please reply, thank you.

Hello, I recently discovered a new interesting project (apepepow) that claims to be designed for the Monero (XMR) meme enthusiast community, developed by Monero developers. Is anyone interested in this project or has more information?I just read an article on a cryptocurrency blog about apepepow as an interesting meme coin for the monero community. I would like to know what people think about this project?

New minable pow coin: apepepow (apepe)
Monroe community meme coin, the first privacy meme coin, Monero developers, no pre-mining, no ICO, fair mining, let apepepow make pepe again
Algorithm: memehash

I am not a developer, but I think that the team will only add popular coins and optimize the miner for these coins. And it looks like a temporary coin with no future prospects. This is my opinion, not the developer of the miner.
1309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia products for AI on: June 18, 2023, 12:06:38 PM
If AMD is forced out of the gaming graphics market, Nvidia will become a monopolist and charge very high prices in that market. Intel can't compete with Nvidia either. AMD share 12% and Intel share 4% in the gaming graphics card market in Q1 2023.

Then! I know.

That's why I say that AMD should invest more in the gamer market, than venture into a market that will have more difficulty growing - AI.
I say this, because if they haven't been able to grow in a gamer market, which theoretically will be easier. I think they will have a much more difficult time with AI, because it will be a much more demanding market.

In the case of Intel, they still have a long way to go, but as they are making a big investment in just over a year in the area, and being one of the largest processor companies, they manage to be better positioned to grow in AI than the AMD. It starts right away with the customers, being much easier for Intel to reach the big players, since it is already there with the processing and servers.
Where did AMD spend all the profits from the sale of video cards for mining?
The X3D processors were unsuccessful. Intel is better and without problems with overheating.

5.3ghz just one unit ethash for gpus is dead.what next? 10ghz for one unit? But idont care because i believe there will be new algo for gpus better than this.damn asic manufucktures.sorry for bad words.
Buy 2 asics and get 11000MH/s ,3800W Grin
These characteristics look good against the background of consumption by modern asics for bitcoin.
What coin besides Ethereum Classic will be profitable to mine on this ASIC?
I don't understand what kind of coins these asics are made for.
People still believe in ethash algo thats why maybe these asics are still producing. With 5.5ghz for one unit there no chance for gpus here anymore.even you have army of 3080 and 3090.ethash end bye bye rest in piece.
Look at this
JASMINER X16-Q 1950MH 620w  € 3,449.99
https://mineshop.eu/jasminer-x16-q-1845mh-630w/

3хJASMINER X16-Q =5535mh  1890w € 10 500

1хJasminer X16P  5800 mh 1900w 0.32j/mh € 9 200
https://mineshop.eu/jasminer-ethereum-miner/

That is, we get a 14% discount for the bulk purchase of 3 X16-Q ASICs.
I look at this and think that ASIC manufacturers are deceiving me, because they put 3 ASICs in 1 box Grin

Still waiting for Mr V. to send my my 2eth with a personal apology or he can simply die a young man of natural causes. Say a brain aneurysm 😀

Either one works for me.

let me add.. 2xxx and 4xxx is a refresh.

The 2xxx series did not differ much in mining performance from the 1xxx series, and the 4xxx series shows a large increase compared to the 3xxx series. But the 4xxx series came out at a time when GPU mining is unprofitable and ASICs are replacing video cards from mining.

Okay, we can call the 4xxx a successful refresh then. LOL.
Nvidia is taking over the gaming video card market from AMD because it makes good video cards. 4xxx has no locks and video cards are good in mining. If not for the 12-pin power supply connector, then this would be an excellent replacement for the 3xxx series. In the meantime, there is nothing to mine, then any video card will be a bad investment.

With no big customers named, AMD's AI chip challenge to Nvidia remains uphill fight

If they are not even able to rival in the gamers area, how will they be able to rival in the AI area?
They really had to do something extraordinarily far superior - which I doubt.

In the early 2000s, they started an excellent path to reach the gamer market. But it seems that in the last 6-7 years, they simply forgot to invest in this market, losing almost all of the quota they had achieved years before.

Therefore, unfortunately for consumers, I see AMD with some difficulty in recovering much of the market they had. And it will be more difficult to conquer new ones.

In the case of Intel, they are willing to invest a lot in this area, and maybe that's why they end up being at a better advantage than AMD to compete with Nvidia. Even because it has a very strong part of the processors, which is also necessary for this area of AI.
If AMD is forced out of the gaming graphics market, Nvidia will become a monopolist and charge very high prices in that market. Intel can't compete with Nvidia either. AMD share 12% and Intel share 4% in the gaming graphics card market in Q1 2023.

For big mining, you need a global coin with an idea like ethereum. And now there are some clones of bitcoin and ethereum that will not be used in the future. I thought about the idea of a new coin for mining for a long time, but so far I don’t see a single candidate for this place.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining software Cryptochemist on: June 16, 2023, 06:29:39 PM
Have you come up with a new NiceHash?
Usually such software is free, the service takes commissions for its services. This can be the same, but miners are more accustomed to paying 1% on the pool and paying 1% commissions from the mined coins to the miner's development. But you will have to work really hard to convince miners to use your service.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which are profitable coins to mine? on: June 16, 2023, 06:21:49 PM
With the hangover from ETH still holding down the market, most of the people I know who were GPU mining during the last bubble in 2021 have given up mining.  Even those in areas with insanely cheap power that could still be mining profitably are no longer interested and don't see it as their opportunity to easily get rich anymore.  This fatigue is usually when I see the market changing.  I will admit I've also shut down my miners that were barely profitable due to heat in the summer not making it worth the cooling effort.  In my experience, times like now when mining seems like a lost cause is when it's the most profitable looking back.
Mining on new video cards now resembles a useless use of a valuable resource, and miners turn them off from mining. Old video cards give little profit and such mining is used to accumulate coins, but 10-20 cents a day for each video card seems like a small investment.

It may seem so but 8 video cards for 1.60 dollars daily now when translated in crypto rewards is not that little, especially if people are firm believers that crypto will reach soon another new all time high.It is very much worth it if these people mine ETC for 1 month,ETHW for another, then jump and use unmineable pool to be paid in any currency they wish for by doing the mining in their favorite currency i.e mining ETHASH algorithm and getting paid in SHIBA INU or other low value tokens like FUN token,so tons of options to put the cards to good use for the people who know what they want to achieve.
Think back to mining shitcoins in 2019. Some coins went up and then a lot of projects closed, and the same will happen with the projects that we are mining now. I ask all miners to be careful and not forget past experience. Unfortunately, many coins for mining on video cards will die.
1318  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How can i start bitcoin mining? on: June 16, 2023, 06:12:46 PM
It's unlikely that anyone will teach you because it's a competition. I can only advise you to study in more detail the very nature of Bitcoin and how mining works. It may be possible to find some videos but don't get your hopes up for practical advice. It is better to try, to start with a little, and then you will understand as you go.
You don't have to learn a lot because you can use ready-made containers or cooling systems and mining management systems. Miners will help you with this, but you need to find cheap electricity. And you need to change the location, then the container can be prepared for mining faster.

With no big customers named, AMD's AI chip challenge to Nvidia remains uphill fight

Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD.O) on Tuesday gave new details about an artificial intelligence chip that will challenge market leader Nvidia Corp (NVDA.O), but the company left out what Wall Street wanted to know - who plans to buy it.

Santa Clara, California-based AMD said the forthcoming chip, which will start trickling out in the third quarter followed by mass production beginning in the fourth quarter, will have 192 gigabytes of memory.

That could help tech companies get a handle on the spiraling cost of delivering services similar to ChatGPT, AMD Chief Executive Lisa Su told Reuters in an interview. She spoke following a keynote presentation in San Francisco during which Su showed an AI system on the MI300X chip writing a poem about the city.

Nvidia, whose shares have surged 170% so far this year, dominates the AI computing market with a market share of 80% to 95%, according to analysts.
