1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too harsh on user? on: March 12, 2023, 04:39:51 AM
Is it right to call a gambling platform a scam for confiscating users account with the deposited balance because you use more than one SIM card to access the platform? The SIM cards aren't from same network provider, so their IP addresses are different from one another.

This happened to someone I know very well, but I found this to be too cruel,  different IPs on the same device shouldn't cause this ban, what do you think?

There are some gambling platforms that pray that users make this mistake and use the opportunity to sit down on their money.
It depends on the rules. If different IPs were allowed BUT the same users aren't, then even with a bunch of IPs you have that you can use, it's still against their TOS. It doesn't matter that it "looks" cruel or harsh, we aren't discussing empathy here, we're discussing how a user simply has to follow the rules of the platform they're registering up for, regardless of what kind of platform it is. If you want to use their platform, follow the rules that they set, simple as that. Now the level of punishment depends on the casino themselves, but that's another point, either way, they'd still be punished.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? on: March 11, 2023, 03:40:44 PM

The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs. In this bear market, more investors are hesitant to any Altcoin investment. Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
Just the fact that some altcoins fail to live up to what they want to offer. The risk is relatively bigger in investing in altcoins compared to Bitcoin (imo), and projects not really doing anything to fulfill their end of the bargain and is only there to suck up the money of their initial investors isn't really helping me in actually being invested to doing altcoin research. It's also why I'm mostly going for well know altcoins already, it may take a longer time compared to investing into a completely new coin, but it's relatively safer in comparison.
1323  Economy / Economics / Re: Replacement? on: March 11, 2023, 01:13:11 PM
I have been seeing the progress of cryptocurrency these past few years, and I've been thinking, will it definitely be a replacement for physical money and use crypto as a primary transactions in our everyday life?
It'll be adopted as a currency, but it wouldn't replace fiat itself. Physical money WILL be digitalized so physical money will be phased out at some point in time. That doesn't mean that fiat will disappear though no, the medium would just be transferred from physical to digital. The government wouldn't like their current situation to disappear, especially if you consider how crypto is good on the side of us users, and not for the controllers. They couldn't exactly stop crypto from growing on the other hand though, so a side by side kind of existence would be my bet.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Gambling Legalization Reduce Gambling Rings? on: March 11, 2023, 11:11:13 AM
Do you think that there is a role that gambling legalization will play in reducing the activities of gambling rings?
Definitely. I see no reason why illegal activity would exist if the said activity was allowed in the first place, albeit with rules and laws enforced on it. Regardless of the limitations placed on it, it still is a matter of fact that the activity is completely legal already. In the first place, I reckon with it being legal, people wouldn't necessarily risk being fined for doing it illegally. They could possibly just register it themselves as a legal business.

There'd probably be a few more who would still do it, but it might be because the entity behind casinos is supposed to be only owned by the government or something similar, kind of not giving them a chance. I highly doubt they'd get much of a customer base though which makes the idea itself kind of not worth it.
1325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 11, 2023, 05:40:07 AM
Legal to learn? I guess (I'm not aware of any rules prohibiting anyone from learning it). Trading itself? Probably. Afaik most trading exchanges have that KYC rule and it's pretty much required to be above the legal age (in most cases it's 18 I think?) It's probably going to take a long time for him to understand the ins and outs of trading, and probably a bit of money if he ever does actually start trading, but that's usually how learning the trade goes. It's always risky regardless of when they enter, whether the market is bullish or bearish.
1326  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 10, 2023, 04:30:46 PM
Idk, a bet will only seem to be a "waste" if you think spending it on gambling is a waste already. It's not a matter even of whatever odds you want to promote or give out, it's simply just a matter of perspective. If you think it's a waste then don't gamble, if you think it's worth it then do it.

Please if you guys will allow me, from now onward I will be dropping daily 3 odds here on this thread, if you want to stick, stick with little amount.
I'd suggest creating a new thread with you as the only one posting on it with your odds and whatnot. That way your posts can't be exactly buried by the other replies (though if one really wanted to they can just ctrl + f and search (OP) to see your posts easily).
1327  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 10, 2023, 02:51:45 PM
I reckon BTCGosu and other similar posts are more than enough. Even without considering it (it was my most relied on when I first tried gambling online), there are probably a few other posts here that list a bunch of casinos, their details, and possibly a bunch of reviews. It's not a straight-up "casino review and rating" type of thing, but I reckon it's more than enough. Plus some casinos come and go so people can simply ask here if the casino itself is reputable or not, and a lot could probably give good enough answers as reference.
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project according to you is solving real world issues? on: March 10, 2023, 01:36:56 PM
Interesting. I've seen a few projects before but the most they discussed were about economic issues, and not really helping/solving them directly but rather just investing in them of sorts. I hardly doubt they'd ever touch upon it being actually THAT helpful, to the point where its influence can actually be felt. Most projects are like that though, and some are actually just saying it for the sake of making them look good.

Ofc I don't think anything else has created that much of a change unlike Bitcoin with its p2p system, or ETH with their smart contracts.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest Win So Far at Fortune.st Casino on: March 10, 2023, 12:22:53 PM
inb4 they were also the one who lost the bet below. Congrats to him whoever they are though. Regardless of the amount of money they spent before hitting that big win, a big win is something to be happy with. I just hope they didn't spend it all back to gambling in the same session (if they were rich then well, doesn't really matter then). Rather curious what amount they bet with at what multiplier though, since if it was a big bet and a small multiplier then I guess it's something bound to happen. If it wasn't then damn that's really lucky (not familiar with the multiplier limits of Fortune so).
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A remark on casino bonuses on: March 09, 2023, 10:28:07 PM
Enticing promo banners but tncs that make these promos largely useless and these tncs aren't obvious from looking at banners. Upon click they redirect you to login/registration page whereas I feel click on to banner should redirect user to that particular promo's tnc.
Well, that's just how marketing goes. It's kind of like in the border line of things since they're aren't technically hiding any rules about the promo. Though I do think the rules involved aren't anything complicated, itd probably just include the usual tncs of the casino themselves so if you usually play there, I highly doubt you'd have problems.

Then again that might be completely different when it comes to a big event, but that doesn't usually happen in bonuses by casinos.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertisements: A big trigger to gambling addiction. on: March 08, 2023, 03:11:35 PM
*How does someone who intends to stop gambling control these ads or stop them from popping up or seeing it on tv?
For online ads, just stop searching gambling-related info. I'm pretty sure most people versed on the net know that the ads that mostly show up on your browsers are ads that are deeply related to the stuff you search about. OR, you can find a good adblocker. As for television, I reckon you can just watch online, the amount of ads there is deeply reduced and if you were waiting for news channel stuff, then most likely they also won't have gambling-related ads.

Well if you're also like me, who's mobile number is(was) pretty much known to all damn casino marketing teams (I get bloody casino messages almost everyday), then you might also want to change contact numbers or something.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 03:02:54 PM
Well, I'd probably go all in really, not my money after all. Besides, guilt aside, it seems like it was for the content so I'll take the dive and be the guy who just goes yolo. I wouldn't consider breaking friendships or whatever with the amount lost, it's for fun anyway. I'd thoroughly enjoy myself with that, sounds like a lot of fun as Op has said. I don't think I'd ever be able to experience it though, don't really have that many rich friends that gamble.
Gambling with a friend's money is a bad thing, it's called do-or-die affairs in my locality, it's not good because if he losses there will be a big misfortune and if it's not taken care of in a polite way it might take one's life.
Gambling is not something you will assist some with, even advising a gambler is not advisable, to be intense is not.
I'd only ever call it bad if it was stolen money. If it was given out and the person giving out already said they can spend it on gambling, then why the hell not?
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 12:46:54 PM
Have any of you encountered such wrong bets and won/lost Huh
Nothing rare. I've had my instances of that happening. It isn't that often though, maybe once every few months? I usually have a set amount always in my wallet, and rarely do I leave leftovers so my balance is usually always the same when I come in to play. I don't think I've hit a big loss due to it though, all were rather bearable. I've never really bet big most of the time anyway, I usually do small bets. My so-called "big" bets are pretty small since I force myself to only fund my wallt by that much.
1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 07, 2023, 02:46:56 PM
I wouldn't call it impossible since there are probably a few people who won big (and who weren't dumb) that were able to live the rest of their lives solely with that winning. Now if it were solely like a constant thing, like a job, say a professional player, then yea, they exist, but they're in the minority and they probably have a LOT of side income say from promotions, sponsorships, etc, kinda like the typical eSports player where they not only get money from tournament winnings but also a LOT of side stuff.

I wouldn't recommend it to your average person though. You'd probably need to already have a sizeable amount of money in your hands that could let you live comfortably for the rest of your life before even trying to attempt. It's just that costly.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In 38 Days, Freebitco.in is going to give out $200,000 in BITCOIN!!! on: March 07, 2023, 12:20:55 PM
Weren't the big promos by freebitcoin a regular thing? Idk since when, though since the times I visit it are rather apart by a huge margin. Back when I first got into crypto freebitcoin was the site that let me get my first Bitcoin and was also the one that introduced me to faucets. I thought it was a good way to earn, but considering how paltry it was and how impatient I am, I just used the amount I get to gamble on their site when I can back then lmao. Probably the only place where I gambled where I lost nothing really.
1336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Trend on NFT cartoon Avatars on: March 06, 2023, 02:24:17 PM
Well, I just hope the person who generates it knows what they're doing. At least, they'd be producing good-looking NFTs now, compared to the monkey age we had back then. Though ig it'd honestly just look better, I don't think anything can top what some of the stable diffusion results that I've seen people make, and they do it with a big passion, I reckon more than these projects that are just riding in the hype. Even with the help of AI, if they can't make anything unique at all that could possibly last, I don't think they're going to come back up.
1337  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 06, 2023, 01:10:55 PM
In the end, it's all speculation though. Said "truth" may be true in their cases, but we can't exactly say in some other cases. At this point, I rarely play in casinos but I just enjoy what I get and feel at that moment. Plus, I wouldn't say that their analysis "makes" you lose, though they do indeed do analysis, they instead create scenarios where you're forced to deposit more to redeem some of their bonuses, or even lock it behind certain rules so that you're forced to play. Plus some marketing stuff. Sounds simple on paper but it probably has a bunch of data analysis behind it.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the origins of provably fair technology in gambling? on: March 05, 2023, 11:38:08 AM
As far I know, provably fair technology in crypto gambling is simply the application of cryptography/hash functions onto an specific market or purpose, so one can verify the gambling results in a trust-less way. The theory behind it is not actually new.

I am not sure what the first platform that started this trend was, though.

I'm remembering one of my friends mentioned that Counter Strike: Global Offensive actually used this technology for one of their skin-gambling games.

The CS:GO provably fair thing was actually controversial somehow but I don't remember why exactly. Something happened tho.
I remembered seeing this talk in Reddit years ago, took a moment to look it up, and this is probably the one you were talking about?
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/4rdiqe/what_is_a_provably_fair_gambling_system_how_are/

I actually have no idea whether this is true or not, or how provably fair really works never really took the time to research this (and as a teen back then, even if I did read all of this, understanding it would be another). The logic is fairly simple to understand though imo, just that proving if it really works or not is another thing. I've mostly played on reputable casinos, only taking the time to try a few new ones but not spending that much in them so I don't risk any "provably fair" like casinos.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 04:48:51 AM
Hmm If a possibility to choose a different type of business, then not a casino. Heck, I'd probably avoid businesses in general and just buy good plots of land in my area if I can, maybe become a landlord for one good area if need be. I'd still gamble yes, but only at that. Even with all the positive situations that would make me build a casino, I'd still choose to build or go to a different type of business opportunity than casino. Simply a matter of preference if no factors are involved other than my willingness.

1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambler has 100% trust in each stake on: March 05, 2023, 01:04:45 AM
I once did, yes. Well, it is more like a stake of a braindead fan so I don't think I need to establish the reason since it speaks for itself anyway. Nowadays though I'm a fan of a multitude of teams in eSports, and I decide who I'm going to favor more than the other, after all, I've watched more and know more compared to the me back then. In some cases though, especially in a finals setup match, I usually just go for whichever team I really like since in most cases both teams are almost, if not equally matched already. At that point I just enjoy everything.
