What is malicious about a BTC botnet ?

Stealing someone's computer resources is malicious.

Don't forget to figure out some way for the POS owner to process a refund. Even though chargebacks aren't possible, refunds are still necessary.

And that BS about Gmail was retarded, they don't index or publish your mail, they just scan it for keywords to provide relevant advertising.

That and stalk teenagers...

Keep drinking the koolaid.
Yeah that too lol. I forgot about that one.
1344  Economy / Services / Re: [ANNOUNCE] TORwallet - anonymous mixing wallet service on: June 22, 2012, 02:08:32 PM
Form googlemail directly? I can not believe that.. Who in their right mind would do that?

There are other options: "Google Toolbar", Chrome.. but it does not matter.

Google indexes stuff that people publish, it does not do black magic.

Google know about 1560 URLs (by screenshot)
For safety reasons, he showed you only the first 170, but there are other ways to get those links.

But the problem is not in Google. The problem is that even Google can find a lot of URLs.
What you don't understand is that simply visiting the root of the instawallet site (and Torwallet too) redirects you to a new virgin wallet without clicking any buttons. When this happens, the URL changes, so Google indexes a new URL each time, because it doesn't understand what happened and it thinks that there is new content to be shown to search users. IT CANNOT AND WILL NOT DISCOVER EXISTING URLS UNLESS THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY PUBLISHED.

And that BS about Gmail was retarded, they don't index or publish your mail, they just scan it for keywords to provide relevant advertising.

It's a bad PSU and doesn't appear to be the fault of shipping damage.  I think this one's on us.  We were eager to get these units out and should have burn tested a bit longer.  We've paid for the return frieght, will swap the PSU and point it at Gigga's credentials while we run it through a longer burn.
Cool of you guys to pay overnight freight for a 50 lb box. That had to be expensive.

If such a thing happened in the future, how simple is it to swap the PSU? Any more complicated than in a normal PC?

The 7970 has ECC  Roll Eyes
Are you sure? That's usually reserved for the expensive enterprisey cards like FirePro.

BFL said they weigh 50 lbs.
1348  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Aeron Chair on: June 22, 2012, 04:01:29 AM
I sit in this chair at work all day.  I love farting in this chair, it's like farting into a cloud.

Farting and ass sweat are often overlooked in a good office chair.
OK you guys have convinced me to petition the boss for a new chair. I know how good they are and I can't believe I don't have one right now. Noob boss doesn't think $850 is a good investment in his employees' productivity, well fuck that. It's been so hot I think the A/C is failing, the least I could do is not have to deal with ass sweat.

You have to buy on bitmit, OP isn't the seller.

Binary explosives are cool, but get the real stuff not shitty tannerite. The real stuff is still shock proof but can be set off with subsonic rounds and is way more explosive.

Ditch mtgoxlive, it makes your browser crawl. If you must have the same type of chart, use the flash-based http://btccharts.com. Otherwise for a real trader's interface, use http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/ or set up sierracharts.

Very nice job, rjk!

Do you also work on the bitcoin.it wiki?
No. The last time I posted to the wiki, I got into a few edit wars with Luke-Jr and decided it wasn't worth wasting my time.

I only occasionally visit this section when I am bored, otherwise it remains blocked in my preferences.

Your sarcasm detector is severely malfunctioning, sir.
1354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Wow, dispute open against a MoneyPak I reloaded! on: June 22, 2012, 01:05:21 AM
I do lots of BTC to MoneyPak transfers here thinking it would be a cheap and safe way to recieve funds for my BTC. Apparently you can still open disputes..

My card is locked down now due to someone opening a dispute of a $100 trade I did.

After they provided me the MoneyPak number I did some back tracking and found it came from this user:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=59224

Just waiting a reply from him now.. But man I had no idea people could even file disputes against MoneyPak.

Sigh.
Did you get a scan of the receipt when you obtained the moneypak? That is the only safe(ish) way to use moneypak. Without the receipt, you are screwed.
1355  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Aeron Chair on: June 22, 2012, 01:02:57 AM
I threw a room full of these out to the trash at a summer job a few years back. Didn't know they cost that much but they were uncomfortable as hell and felt cheaply made.

Free Bump!
There's several cheap knockoff brands that also do the mesh look, could be that you ditched some actual crappy ones and not the real deal.
1356  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL refused to issue refund because it was paid with bitcoin (via Bitpay) on: June 22, 2012, 12:29:04 AM
Just another PERFECT EXAMPLE of the regard BFL has for the Bitcoin currency / community in general!

They manufacture Bitcoin mining devices and make their living from this currency yet they regard PAYPAL! of all things a more stable and reliable form of currency that they are happy to refund Paypal but will not refund the very same currency they make their bread and butter from.

Or is it the fact that PayPal can REVERSE THE CHARGE and MAKE THEM PAY

and with Bitcoin THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH RIPPING YOU OFF! (irreversible)

Either case it makes me sick that so many of us are entrusting the future of the Bitcoin network with these people.

This trolling calls for creating a new thread and sticking it at the top of the forum, doesn't it?
From the competition, no less!
1357  Economy / Goods / Re: Come in and Trade Ammo or Talk about Guns! on: June 22, 2012, 12:24:22 AM
Any of you guys played around with cut shells? Sounds like a dangerous kind of fun lol.

Isn't the Icarus bitstream based on Ztex source? Is there any reason to use Icarus-specific stuff?
1359  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pre-Announce] OpenPay, use your bitcoins at any merchant that takes Visa! on: June 21, 2012, 10:18:18 PM
I still have major reservations about how easy it is to bolt together the traditional payment systems and Bitcoin, but I too am eager to hear of any progress.
