2041  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox Collapsing (and taking bitcoin down with them?) on: June 05, 2012, 03:09:48 AM

How do I go about getting help with this.I emailed them just now. So,I'm waiting for a response, but maybe you guys know a faster way to results.

Another one? Did you happen to use an insecure password, OR did you happen to use the same password on both Bitcoinica and MtGox?

Repeat after me: The value of the Yubikey is greater than the loss of all my funds!

He said regulators such as the RBA and the US Federal Reserve had to think of new ways to tax and manage virtual currencies as it became a valuable global commodity.

The Federal Reserve is responsible for ensuring that a competing monetary system can be taxed?
Yeah I had to giggle at that a little bit.
2043  Other / Off-topic / Liberty Payout, why do you act so much like newdude? Identity crisis much? on: June 05, 2012, 03:01:20 AM
This is where he tries to make himself look cool so other will like him. duh.
No, I'll tell you what it is: it's a ploy to raise his post count, to provide legitimacy to the poor suckers that I'm sure he is planning on scamming by PMing them while they are stuck in the noob section. Stuff like that doesn't work too well when you have a scammer tag.
2044  Economy / Goods / Re: La la, la la la la, la la la la la AMAZON CODES on: June 05, 2012, 02:41:06 AM
I've been following this thread just for the entertainment value. I like how he stops posting after the mod calls him out...
"the"? lol, just kidding you.

There are limited examples of legitimate sellers, but they are few and far between.
2045  Other / Off-topic / OP is a scammer on: June 05, 2012, 01:31:58 AM
Guys, haven't you learned? Talk to him in the "Subject:" bar above. It's much more entertaining knowing he can't ignore it.
It's like a twitter fail turned up to 11.
2046  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Deal Alert] Newegg -> PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W on: June 05, 2012, 01:30:55 AM
Do they still have a 7 year warranty since they have been bought out by OCZ?

I wish. Sad
2049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PAYB.TC domain-registration issues on: June 05, 2012, 12:53:51 AM
So godaddy is turning a 6 month process into a 3 day process after you pay them a bit of money? You know that's called extortion, right? Unfortunately, it's fairly common with godaddy, because they suck big time. The number one complaint forum about them which was fairly successful shut down suddenly after being paid off by them to disappear. Shady shady shady.
2050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoincard.org on: June 05, 2012, 12:32:12 AM
Not ready to make an announcement on it. All I can say is, they've got it wrong and it's sad too because (aside from the horrid menu and buttons) their vaporware video makes it look really cool and is getting a lot of people's hopes up, making it harder for us to get people to believe in an actually functional product. It's like coming out with an e-wallet service right after MyBitcoin.

And you know this, how?

When we're ready to make an announcement, we will. And it won't be a cartoon showing how something might work someday if someone invests billions of dollars into something no one wants to invest in.
STFU or delivar. Your choice.
2051  Economy / Goods / Re: Cigars for bitcoin? on: June 05, 2012, 12:29:10 AM
http://bitcoincigars.com/ will be but they need to finish their website.
..because Andrew Bitcoiner saw a need, and is jumping to address it! Never mind that there are probably 5 users that want such a service, we shall set up a whole nother website dedicated to cigars, like a boss!
2052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoincard.org on: June 05, 2012, 12:20:17 AM
Don't mind Matthew, he seems to be back trolling stating his opinions as a developer for almost a year now of what Bitcoincard is trying to develop but is going to fail miserably at.

FTFY.
4-6 weeks?
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Empowering honest Bitcoin users on: June 05, 2012, 12:04:02 AM
All the +1s are because Stephen articulated the essence of the answer in a precise manner. One thing to remember is that you cannot prevent people from sending you coins if they know your address. It's a feature that is built into the fundamentals of the system.

Of course, it is certainly possible to track and trace whatever you want, and you are welcome to do so. But building it into the official client is pointless.
2054  Other / Off-topic / Re: So, how about them arbitrary post counts? on: June 04, 2012, 11:58:59 PM
So, how about them arbitrary and obnoxious forum sigs that require scrolling to read at times ?

This post is about gay signatures and the users that either need to tell their life story or beg for money in their sigs.....
(not including rjk because he's building a hashing monster and I am jealous)

You mean like mine?
Yours isn't too bad compared to mc-lovin's
hey now, be nice!

I gotta take a side here: mc_lovin's got style and class.
And colorful graphics.
2055  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: At what point is Solo Mining good? How much Ghash do you need? on: June 04, 2012, 11:57:54 PM
so what?  it still shows my shares and blocks solved

did you just buy this 25ghash off of someone recently or something?

wtf
Solving blocks on a pool is very different from solving them solo. Although it mathematically is the same and will even out over time, in real life it is less than ideal due to a number of factors.

For instance, a pool has a high speed low latency internet connection to push blocks out ASAP, whereas a solo miner's home internet connection might just be a tad slow and result in orphans. And orphans are no fun when it happens after a long run of no blocks, say after a month or so. Sad

Do dogs have a language?
2057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1996: HOW TO MAKE A MINT: THE CRYPTOGRAPHY OF ANONYMOUS ELECTRONIC CASH on: June 04, 2012, 11:50:45 PM
What's interesting is how much the offline section of the paper sounds exactly like MintChip.
2058  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3251 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: June 04, 2012, 11:27:37 PM
It appears that deepbit has had bad luck for last few months...my workers are not getting their daily avg of BTC for quite some time now.
If you are using proportional scoring, your "bad luck" would be due to pool hoppers taking the profits. The only thing that changes the PPS price (if you are using that) is the difficulty.
