Edge cases and error handling means recovering gracefully from all the bullshit and erroneous data that the mtgox websocket spews on a daily basis because of its instability and poor implementation.
2242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitForce SC - full custom ASIC on: May 31, 2012, 03:20:48 AM
I think the hardware subforum should get a new rule. I am going to ask all the manufacturers to make official product threads, I am going to sticky those threads, and then we, collectively, are going to feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to troll in said official product threads.

What does everyone think?

Product actually implies you have something at hand to sell if that is a requirement then I am all for it, otherwise it is vaporware until it shows up not an official product..
2/10 One product shipping reduces the vaporware coefficient significantly.

If we did the sticky thing, there would be far too many of them. Not sure of a good way to fix that.

In case you aren't actually sure what it "does", it is just basically a wi-fi hotspot that you can upload files to. They are stored on the hotspot and are available for anyone that is connected to download. No internet connectivity - but also no annoying ad-hoc networks.

@rjk: The 1Ds MkIII is like $5k... used!  I was getting into photography at one point and had my heart set on a 5D MkII but now the MkIII is out.  Way too expensive and I don't have enough money Sad
Camera shop near me has a II for $1500 or so... it's a place that is in the middle of the ghetto, built into an old church.

Why are full-frame bodies so expensive Sad I can't find a used III at all, regardless of price.

I wish I could visit noo yawk and see a real Leica M9 at the B&H shop. want.
2245  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Mining Company on: May 31, 2012, 01:53:04 AM
Hardware status update: All the components for the next infrastructure production batch (around 50GH/s) have been received. It will take up to 2 weeks to be assembled and become ready to install. Before the end of June they should be available to mine for Pyramining on demand. 100Gh/s more are scheduled between the half and the end of July.
Like a boss!
2246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Carefull!!! http://bitcoin-debit.com/ on: May 31, 2012, 01:50:36 AM
No track record - has anyone ever heard of them?
No SSL - basic precautions
No legit contact info - a PO box in Panama

Sounds like someone failed in his due diligence. Sorry.

My apologies for whatever I did wrong...

2249  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] HD 5970 cards on: May 31, 2012, 01:38:33 AM
Damn, I've been looking at a 1Ds Mk III, but I can't swing that kind of change right now.

Bitinstant is the fucking tank, crushing everything in its path into world bitcoin-kinda-related domination!

But it's a good kind of domination. Grin
2251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: trojan warning "BITCOINCOLLECTR" on: May 31, 2012, 01:23:27 AM
This is a trojan. It reads the wallet.dat from the file level and pastes it to pastebin.com so if your wallet is encrypted you should be fine. Linked below is the decomplied source code.

http://freeter.me:81/BitcoinCollectr0.8beta.src.zip
Maybe if you send the pastebin-related source snippet to pastebin, maybe they can help identify the user based on the included dev and user API keys?
2252  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Looking for People that have 50GH/sec or more 200% PPS on: May 31, 2012, 12:55:38 AM
10 GHash/s makes 0.44 btc in 10 minutes. Why would anyone with that much hashpower spend the time to switch everything over to you just to make 0.56 btc or $3. Not really worth their time IMHO.
miners with 50+ ghash/s really ought to have a proxy in place already, which would make it very easy and painless.

I think I have it.  Open up cmd prompt and make the window larger in options, try 85W 50H.  Close that out and try your batch file again, It should work now that everything fits on the screen. Cheesy
Crashing due to screen size? wat
2255  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of scammers! on: May 31, 2012, 12:39:38 AM
I purchased some Magic: the Gathering Online tickets from Alarmoz (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=55563) a few days ago and just today got contacted by Wizards about the tickets being stolen and my account being under investigation.  I suspect they will take the tickets back from me.

Perhaps a short review of what his personality was all about here before investing? All posts have been about selling easily stolen online deliveries or buying btc for reversible PayPal. What did you expect?
Hey, think positive, at least his constant and annoying bump bump bump posts are now obsolete. Tongue
2256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Screw you Paypal, I hope you die very soon. on: May 31, 2012, 12:22:57 AM
ya man its total crap.. I sold an item on the bay and got hit with that email the day it sold and didnt get my funds for a week after it was confirmed delivered.  good luck trying to get someone from paypal to release your funds their email system is all automated and their phone customer service is all in abu dhabi so you cant understand anything.  just bend over and hope they use lube.
Although I have gotten this too and am not sticking up for or supporting PayPal in any way, I must say that the phone reps' language skills have been the least of my worries. I guess the over $5k in transactions each year adding me into the "PayPal Advantage" category is what gets me better service.

If you are an Advantage user (I.E. over $5k per year), the trick is to call the debit card hotline and then start discussing other issues you have. The debit card specialists are a different breed of folks that are quite separate from the rest of the pack, and they can take care of almost any issue over and above debit card related problems.
2257  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [125GH/s] BitClockers Pay for Invalids/InstaPay/DDoS-Resistant/Live Support on: May 31, 2012, 12:12:49 AM
All anti hopper counter measures have now been disabled.
With the successful implementation of a Pay Per Share rewards system they will no longer be needed.
So, how much did you make off of hidden fees from the fake stats? Be honest now.
2258  Other / Off-topic / Re: Zombies in miami? on: May 31, 2012, 12:11:00 AM
Ooohhh, that. Shoot, a better description would have saved some time, that story's been all over the news lately.

Apparently its some "new form of LSD", that causes those the take it to want to be naked and to become violent. Doesn't really sound like the old high school LSD lol
2259  Economy / Goods / Re: Come in and Trade Ammo or Talk about Guns! on: May 31, 2012, 12:07:00 AM
I am still looking for a round penetrating RPG if anybody has one on here Cheesy

what the hell is a round penetrating rpg?
A rocket propelled grenade whose fragments have enough velocity to penetrate standard ammunition, duh.

Grin

do you like shoot them at a box of ammo or something?
No, the ammo materializes out of thin air. Once complete, they resemble plugged nickels. Speaking of which, have you ever tried to plug a nickel? It's kind of hard to do accurately. :\

The "has stopped working" message indicates that something has been written to the Windows Event Viewer log, look there for any additional clues.
