1361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.? on: January 06, 2023, 06:39:22 AM
to ask about me, who is old, is it worth investing in bitcoin or not?

You are not old. It is not too late. As a matter of fact, you are early.
See, a lot of people say that age is just a number, and you can still unlearn the old beliefs of what you know about how the old financial system and learn how the new decentralized financial system works. How it is freedom for the people.
How it makes people their own banks and be in charge of their own money. I do not know how old your kid is right now but if he/she is already a teenager, start to let them in on what you are learning about bitcoin.
1362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are you here? on: January 06, 2023, 06:31:52 AM
This is sad. Most people I know who started their crypto journey without any guide either got scammed or had a close call will crypto scammers.
So, I also already armed with most of the technique's scammers use and their scams before I bought my first bitcoin. This was because my friends who were victims of scammers already filled my ears with ordeal.
I am here on bitcointalk forum because it is good to be a part of a community and there are so many benefits attached to it. Aside from being very busy, this forum is my go-to website for the latest and most concrete gist in the crypto space.
1363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 05, 2023, 04:18:03 PM
Today game will be a surprise game to those that predicted for the favour of Manchester city because, Chelsea will play this game with all their strength and energy to ensure they beat Manchester city 1:0. if Chelsea play this game well, there will be victory at the end of the game because, Manchester city are getting weak in the area of midfield which will be one of the advantage Chelsea players will use to beat Manchester city to reduce their points.
I am worried for Chelsea because it is almost as if we already know how the game will end. Now that Kante and Reece are missing a bigger worry for them will be with dealing with superstar Erling Haaland.
If peradventure they lose today, Potter, Chelsea's manager should be ready to face a lot of backlashes from the fans on top of what the club is already going through. Well, I predict over 2.5 goals in this match.

1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 05, 2023, 04:11:46 PM
Liverpool is surely struggling in this season and having not near the Real Madrid for the match but as we know Champions League is completely different league with having too many unpredictable results and unknown winners things can change here for the Liverpool as well because they are doing good job and trying to have strong strategy which helps them for having better consistency in results Jürgen Klopp is also having good chemistry about this all hopefully they will be able to have their winning combination.
You know Liverpool played so well last season nobody that no one really noticed the midfield's problems, but now that everything is falling apart, Liverpool have no alternative but to pour money into the team.
They need at least two midfielders. Keita is good but is injury prone. It is really tough for Klopp this season I just hope that he can still do something about his formation.
But first he must be willing to invest in good players to be the best.
1365  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: January 05, 2023, 03:57:43 PM
Nah. I do not think so. Some things in trading requires more than calculations. It requires gut, instinct and conviction.
Do intelligent machines have these? I guess not. Infact, I feel that the number of people who incorporate AI in their trading are very few. I also feel that most veteran traders will not be comfortable with artificial intelligence doing the trading for them.
1366  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mistakes Successful People Never Make Twice on: January 05, 2023, 03:49:29 PM
These are great points. Just to add, from observing successful people one can easily see that once you betray their trust, they will most likely cut you off forever and will never have anything to do with you again.
I have noticed that they like to give people the benefit of the doubt no matter what others may have said. Once the individual doesn't deliver on their promise or breaks their trust, it can never be regained. On the hand, once deliver and keep to your word you gain a level of respect from them. And then they will let you in on a lot of things.
1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: January 05, 2023, 03:42:03 PM
If the adoption of bitcoin in El Salvador continues without obstacles, there is a possibility that this could happen.
but el Salvador is still just adopting bitcoin, surely there are still many deficiencies that must be fixed in the government system.
el Salvador could prosper on bitcoins in eight years, but on condition that everything goes smoothly, especially from a social point of view,
if all the people have supported the adoption of bitcoin, there will definitely be significant progress.
I concur. Bitcoin has the potential, yet this is dependent on a lot of other factors. But I do not see it happening in the next 4 years. The country has taken the first step by adopting bitcoin yet, it doesn't stop there.
I believe the shift from poor to rich nation will happen when there is a massive adoption. During the time when we will see people use it to pay for goods and services without any restriction. And as people become more dependent on Bitcoin, fiat of whatever denomination will lose it's dominance.
So, yes. El Salvador will be rich off of bitcoin but not so soon.

1370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 04, 2023, 10:23:49 PM
My advice to traders that are losing is to still continue to trade, but using just 20% while 80% should go into holding. What do you people think about this? Out of 100% fund, what percentage can you advice a trader to use?
Newbie traders shouldn't even start trading with real crypto. They should first master the demo and then when they feel confident enough should consider using 5% of their funds to test the water.
Therefore, 95% of their funds should go into holding.
One mistake they do is revenge trading and when they give in to this, they go beyond 5% funds and end up using up to 15% -20% resulting in terrible losses.
1371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 04, 2023, 10:07:14 PM
Revenge trading is akin to revenge gambling. And I think that people who fall victims of this are newbies.
Maybe it is the get-rich-quick syndrome at romances them into thinking that they jump in again after a loss without any tactics or trading strategy and think that they will win.
I have been cautioned several times about this, that the moment I feel the urge to jump back in after a loss is the moment, I should take a break.
1372  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: January 04, 2023, 02:32:20 AM
Smart people will always invest the money. Depositing money means losing it. Don't misunderstand me; only a very small portion of it will be deposited for exigences.
Then, in addition to purchasing some bitcoins, diversifying your investments will be a wise choice. Personally, I would invest some of the funds in stock market investments and some in real estate.
Since I am a big believer in long term hodling, I'll probably leave the 6 Bitcoins for the 7 -8 years.
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 04, 2023, 02:09:49 AM
I want to believe that when a business owner decides to accept bitcoin for their business, it offers them a competitive advantage over other firms that do not accept bitcoin.
I also want to believe when a business owner decides to accept bitcoin for their business, it opens them up to receiving new customers. notably those who embrace bitcoin.
So, in essence the business owner sees profitability as an expansion of the customer base that results in an increase in sales.

1374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 04, 2023, 01:46:53 AM
A very important topic that should be discussed more often because of the rise of young folks who are increasingly getting hooked to the addiction called gambling.

What other factors do you know contribute to form addictive gambling?

I certainly believe that flawed thinking is one of the primary causes of gambling addiction in people.
When I refer to folks with flawed thinking, I mean those who assume they have the requisite knowledge to figure out how to win a game, whether it be at an online casino or a physical casino. As a result, they continue to play even after losing a game.
In my opinion, some people believe they have figured out how the system works and that they can defeat it and win, unlike other people who have not, but in fact, that is not the case.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone making a living from Crypto Sports betting? on: January 03, 2023, 08:20:08 PM
There are people who making a living from crypto Sports betting, but these people are very few and I suppose are expert bettors.
Well, when I think of making a living from crypto sports betting, I am seeing that the winnings will be able to buy the person just basic needs and nothing serious.
It will be difficult for someone who is married to stick to betting with the hope of making steady income.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 03, 2023, 08:06:16 PM
For me, it is mostly sports - Football, basketball.
I do casinos whenever I am feeling lucky. My favourite casino game is slot.
I think a reason for this is because my friends are more into sports betting than casinos betting.
It was during the COVID-19 lockdown that I picked up on casino betting. Learnt it out of boredom.
I am some good wins on slots, and it stuck.

1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone Sports Bettor or a Team Sports Bettor? on: January 03, 2023, 07:27:16 PM
The type of sports bettor I am depends on how lucky I feel.
Sometimes, if it is a team that I have much knowledge about, I go the lone bettor route.
Because I am confident of my analysis. I 7 out of 10 times, I am right.
I go the sports bettor route with some unfamiliar games. And I rarely do because with so many persons giving games, it is difficult to filter out the noise.
1379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tutored or you learned how to trade? on: January 02, 2023, 02:14:17 AM
How about you people that had a tutor, were you able to be taught in a way you do not lose in the beginning? I only started to make profit some months ago and till now though, but I lost for almost 2 to 3 years. Maybe tutoring can help to avoid losses?
I first started by self-learning on YouTube and joined a couple of Telegram channels.
There were not as explicit as I wanted them to be and most seem like they after money or growing their channels than in imparting knowledge.
For now, I have taken a break from it, pending when I get a real live tutor and has a good track record.
1380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: January 02, 2023, 02:08:06 AM
It is true that some people have become rich through crypto trading in the recent times. But considering the high risk involved in trading, do you think it's proper/wise to trade with borrowed funds as your capital irrespective of your trading experience?
It is easier to walk across the road with a blindfold and be at peace that you will not get knocked down than to trade with borrowed funds.
The repercussions are too great. Especially when your creditors come knock. Just avoid it totally.
