141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 24, 2024, 11:40:30 PM
It's surprsing! Looks like Bojan Bogdanović was a great addition to the Knicks. Had already played 3 games and had been averaging 16PPG. His last game was very impressive, putting a show with 6-6 shooting beyond the arc (didn't missed). With a shooter like him, the Knicks can space the floor and they'll not heavily rely on Brunson's attacking ability. Hopefully he'll earn more minutes and could give consistent contribution to the team.

Today, they'll be hosting the red hot Celtics who are currently on a 7 win streak. In their last 3 games, it was all Boston, so pretty much they were dominated based on the trend. can they make a big change today with a big win?
142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What can I do to be successful in trading with my small capital on: February 24, 2024, 11:13:57 PM
do i need to an expert in trading before someone will be successful.
If you are lucky you do not have to wait, however are you willing to risk your financial future on an activity you are completely clueless about? That being said, you cannot really become an expert trader by just reading books, as you need to gain experience by actually trading the markets and experiment what are they like, while at the same time you keep increasing your skills and improve your trading strategy as well, however you can become a competent trader before you even make your first trade, if you really take the time to learn from books.
Experience will be your best teacher in trading, but of course you have to do some prior reading to increase your knowledge about trading. Trade only when you think you’re confident and competent enough, even if it means losing still. But the fact that you lose, you also gain experience and learn from your mistake. That way you will have ideas how to avoid future mistakes in trading. But trading and losing consistently is never good already. You have to lose but not in a consistent basis, otherwise you are still doing the wrong thing in trading. If you never change and improve that, you will end up ruining your finances in trading.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't it all about money? on: February 24, 2024, 07:49:33 PM
It is your choice buddy, do what you want in your life as we don't bother with what you are doing. And don't bother yourself then seeing people go to school, finish college, and land a good job with a high salary because they deserve it as well. If you feel enough of what you have now, then it is good because all of us have different goals in life and we all struggle to achieve them.

Money, you can't feel comfortable in your life if you don't have money now, maybe before. People are working hard and even have sleepless nights just for this and granted. Life isn't easy now as it is too difficult to live without money, so be it.
Everyone has certain preferences in life. I believe even if you don’t go to school and burn your candle every night, as long as you have certain skills that you are working and developing with, then you’ll still be good enough to earn an income. However, the problem is, most of the company nowadays require not only skills and experience but they also give big emphasis on your level of education. If they will see you’re not even a graduate, you will be less prioritized or will not even be hired at all. The company will always prefer to work with degree holders because their level of knowledge and understanding is higher than those who have never been to school for formal education.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to invest in Bitcoin to perform Hajj. on: February 24, 2024, 07:26:53 PM
A huge respect and amazement for the way that idea was developed by you and your mother.
That being said, you are free to invest that much, and who knows? Maybe one day you and your mother will be able to perform the Hajj.
In the meantime, don't worry about the price of bitcoin; perhaps you believe it is time to withdraw your investment, and perhaps at some point in the future, when its value rises, you'll regret cashing it out too soon. If you maintain a sufficient level of consistency, I believe it will eventually have an impact.
Your plan is great OP. If you can do it more consistently, I believe your goal will definitely be realized in time. Just continue to buy and hold bitcoin regardless of its price. And take time to sell if you see available profits, but I mostly suggest to only sell when a new all time high will achieve, and bull run takes place in the market.

For now, focus on doing DCA with bitcoin. If you can add your personal extra funds, then the more massive your profits will be in the future. Perform DCA with patience, that way you won’t be attracted to sell your bitcoin when sudden price correction appears in the market.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 24, 2024, 03:38:01 PM
With how the first game of Gilas turned out, it's not impossible to see that kind of spread. And your question, whether I'll take it even though it's high? Yes, of course. Bookies aren't fools to offer that kind of odds if Gilas is not capable of covering that. If you have doubts, just sit that one out, but for me, I love to gamble on spreads that are high like that.

They bring hype to the fans, and no matter what the point spread is, the Filipino fans are gonna take it. Well, there's no denying that they were dominant, they might surprise their opponents since they are a completely different team. You can see the passes, and they're not gonna force the shot. Instead, only those who are open can take the shot with confidence.

This was the kind of strategy that basketball enthusiasts have been suggesting before, but Coach Chot at that time was not into that style. Instead, he was more into ISO with his trusted players, and their 3 point shooting percentage wasn't so consistently high.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: February 23, 2024, 06:20:56 PM
Gambling ads on tv are not regulated, most especially, if you are subscribed to a cable tv, or internet TV like YouTube and others, there is a high chance that such ads, or even something worst, might come up from time to time.
The only solution to this I think is to get the children their own TV, where they can comfortably watch cartoons and other children programs in their room, by this way, the children will begin to see less gambling advertisement ads on TV when their parent are watching a sports program.

If children have access to TV and the internet without limitation, they'll likely come across these gambling advertisements. Nowadays, with plenty of sources of entertainment online, it's too risky for our children to give them full freedom. It's still up to us how to discipline them and provide only what is necessary at their young age. We want our kids to have the same interests as us, if we love sports, we might also want them to enjoy sports. However, gambling is just quite different. This thing is what we call for adults only or mature content, similar to porn shows, with a warning: not for kids.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: February 23, 2024, 05:54:33 PM
Gambling promotions is in everywhere like on television, radios and social media which pretty sure nowadays that it will become worst in the near future. Anyways gambling is base in our luck so it's up to us if we gonna gamble every now and then or not. But for me it's a god habits once we gamble once in a while but not in everyday. Yes we can win a good amount in gambling if we have our luck in our side but if don't have the we won't success. And we always failed.
All companies try their best to market themselves and gambling sites also do their best to market themselves. In that case television is a good medium so here they can campaign it is a common thing. Gambling advertisement is often seen on TV, I have seen it many times. Winning at gambling is really a matter of luck as it never guarantees winning. Only those who are lucky can take advantage of the gamble while others only suffer

I only see a few advertisements on TV for a gambling site; most of them are already big because they can afford the cost of running advertisements. Many probably use social media or hire vloggers to promote their gambling sites. Also, TV stations probably have high requirements regarding the legitimacy of the gambling site they would promote, as it will affect their reputation. If a gambling site only earns a Curacao license, I'm not sure if they'll consider it since,  based on what I read, most small gambling sites can easily get a Curacao license.

Quote
Curaçao licenses have been associated with being a quick and easy fix to obtain due to its lacking in regulations and monitoring compared to other jurisdictions.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 23, 2024, 03:35:10 PM
Did the Bitcoin flight already leave investors? or is there still time to buy a ticket?
There is still time to buy a ticket. Bitcoin is going all-time-high and the least that people should be expecting is $100000. Bitcoin may not reach this price before halving but you should wait for some months after halving and you will be happen. Some people will be looking for bitcoin to decrease to a lower price before they will invest but bitcoin can disappoint such people after increasing more and more.
Even if bitcoin halving sets in, there’s always a time to buy a ticket. Don’t believe on those who are saying that investing in bitcoin is too early or too late, we are just on time to buy bitcoin. Never wait for some dips to come, the market is uncertain and we can’t tell if we will be seeing another price surge or price decline the following day. So buy now and hold. Bitcoin is always a good buy, whether you are thinking for its long term hodling or short term.

Speculators have predicted that bitcoin may have its new all time high when bitcoin price reaches $100k or above. Whether it will be achieved or not, one thing is certain, bitcoin will eventually hit that amount if not this year, then probably next year.
149  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you feel about high-profile traders making wrong calls ? on: February 23, 2024, 02:22:49 PM
To me it simply goes to show anyone can be wrong, and you shouldn't be certain of anything short term.
So long as we remain humans there is always the chance of human error. If human error does not exist at the point of beginning due to consciousness human error may come in later maybe due to laxity, or even emotional imbalance. If you're following in the steps and copying it to signals of high-profile traders always have it at the back of your mind that is always the possibility of human error and the analysis, and they can also make wrong calls, so do not trust completely and always.
When trading, trust no one but only yourself. Even high-profile traders cannot be trustworthy when it comes to trading. They can succeed and make profits, but they also lose at times and mostly, the amount they lose is bigger than those they gain. Although novice traders can ask advices from high-profile ones, but always remember that what work for them may not be working for us. So never put on them the success of you trading. Trade on your own risk, and trade when you think you are ready to lose apart from making gains.
150  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 23, 2024, 07:40:26 AM
Because they don't have a good knowledge about money.

They go to school, playing together, take a student loan, go to college, working only to pay off the debts, go to party, have a girlfriend, live in luxury lifestyle, and didn't invest the money.

How they can build their wealth if they choose to enjoy their life instead of delay the instant gratification?
Makes sense. Building wealth is like sacrificing some of your wants and needs so you’ll be able to save and invest. However, there’s no wrong when you want to enjoy your life but enjoyment requires expenses, so the more you enjoy having luxuries all around, the bigger the amount you take away from your salary, in which you can use it instead to start building your wealth.

Graduates stay being poor because they chose to live with it. Because if they really aim to get away from poverty, they need to sacrifice their comfortability and endure hardship and struggles in the process, otherwise if they chose the other life instead, that means they don’t envision theirselves to get rich and wealthy.
151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we contribute accross local boards? on: February 23, 2024, 06:36:57 AM
Are we permitted to engage and contribute across local boards?
There are no rules against it, but keep in mind that in some local boards you might get your post deleted when they realize (and they will) that you are using google translate/AI chatbots.about. I personally visit certain local boards and use Google traslate but only ocassionally and when I get mentioned for a certain reson and I never meddle into their conversations if it has nothing to do with me.

In short, be reasonable about it and you shoulnd't have any issues.
Using translation is not actually effective because it might not be the exact point of view that you want to share, so as much as possible stick to English language or learn their medium of expression so that you can easily dive to their topic and share your relevant ideas you have within. However, I suggest to stick to your own local board as much as possible, but if you really are interested to post to their local board, no issues with it but make sure your post will stay on point so that you won’t be regarded having low content or off-topic poster.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: February 22, 2024, 11:20:05 PM
The most reasonable answer to all the questions above, they will be satisfied and stop collecting it all when they die. I was once taught by my teacher when I was sitting with him, he told me that feeling dissatisfaction is a natural human trait. As long as humans are alive there is always a goal, knowledge, wealth and position are the aspects most needed to live a better life.

If your goal in creating this topic is to increase knowledge in the forum, you can gain knowledge from quality posts made by high ranking members who already have a lot of insight here. They are not trying to get merit for every post like your claim above, they are just positioning themselves as users who are ready to educate their juniors.

I couldn’t agree more. People will only stop from chasing their satisfaction if they are no longer alive. But while they are here, expect that they will continue to expand their knowledge, develop more skills and take more risks because humans are capable of doing that.

However, newbies have always been reliable to the seniors in the forum. I think seniors will definitely serve their purpose if they can also contribute to the welfare of the newbies, and in return, these newbies will also educate those who enter late in the forum.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and people knowledge on: February 22, 2024, 10:48:20 PM
People say that they don't know what is the btc and there is no clear story for them to trust btc.
Not everyone will have to know about bitcoin, and not everyone is ready to learn about bitcoin. Most people who don’t trust bitcoin don’t even know what it's really all about, they decided to hate it just because of what the government feeds them. The government makes bitcoin look so bad, they make people think bitcoin can only be used for illegal things. and experience some people have with scammers in the crypto space already make them lose interest in bitcoin.

Fiat currency can’t be compared with bitcoin, fiat currency has been in existence since the beginning, and that’s what everyone is used to. Most people are using fiat currency for their daily activities, and we all know bitcoin can’t be used for that yet. Some people don’t even believe in digital currency, and I know some people who don’t even leave their money in banks because they don’t trust banks. But I am sure that with time, people who don’t trust bitcoin will come to understand what bitcoin is really all about, and they will start using bitcoin.
Learning should not be forced, it will eventually happen in time when the people are already willing to learn. Even highly knowledgeable people are not all knowing about bitcoin, they heard it but they cannot tell exactly it’s real definition and purpose in the market industry. Most particularly for those who aren’t interested about bitcoin, they will not care researching for it.

However, different thing applied for fiat. Fiat has already been here even before these new generation has existed, so most probably whether they like it or not, they should learn the basics of fiat so they can use it at a maximum level.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 22, 2024, 07:40:10 PM
Just do the math, if your income is enough to cover the spending then one source of income is fine but its clear that it isn't so fine something else that pays you more than your current job or just adds side hustle spreads the burden for a while.

Comparing your income and lifestyle with someone of your same income range but a different lifestyle can't really justify your view so better focus on your income and how much that you expect to spend a month along with emergency funds if the income is lower or nil then as I said find something that can bring more money to your pocket.
A lot of workers are just coping with only one source of income. Yes, they still managed to survive but most likely they tend to be more hopeless and helpless many times just to make everything fit in their small income. Whereas if you have side hustles that pay you decent amount, budgeting would not be too tight plus you get to save spare money for future investment plans and for emergency funds. That’s the advantage of not limiting yourself to one single job, although it’s not easy but with right time management, you can still make it successful and productive.
155  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: February 22, 2024, 07:13:07 PM
I like your current promotion with the 10% bonus, I'll consider depositing in your website in few hours. The website looks goods however for those who are new comers and curious gamblers who wanted to explore your website won't be able to explore as you need to sign in first before you can explore it (though logging in with Metamask would only take 3 seconds) some still don't want to connect their wallets especially to new websites. Just a question, don't you have BNB in your deposit? I have some few BNB but do I really need to swap it to Ethereum first?

Even with the use of email address alone you can explore the casino easily because you will immediately receive the login link through email if you register using email address. There’s no need to input password because you will receive email link whenever you will login to the casino which is very easy and safe at the same time because you can’t be a victim of phishing.

I think this is the most convenient way of making an account in a casino. I have tried in other gambling sites too particularly duelbits and I believe this has been the trend now. No more recording your password that you might just forget overtime, but with email that you are using in a regular basis, it's easy to just click and log in.

Quote
Current they don’t have BNB but you have other currency as option to deposit aside from ETH. Most of their rewards is just paid on ETH though.
I'm sure eventually this will be added in the future, with a high volume coins, it could easily attract people to use it.

Waiting for the big event, hopefully there's someone from here who could win that huge reward.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 22, 2024, 06:34:33 PM
Just watched some highlights of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifier between Philippines and Hong Kong. Well Gilas played well but from what I can see, the Hong Kong team is quite easy to beat. Also, I have noticed that Gilas Pilipinas has really improved; Justin Brownlee knows and understand how his team plays. Kai Sotto has shown bit of improvement and has toned down his energy as I can see from his gestures. KQ can shoot every shot really well; I like this kid.and hopefully someday he can play in the NBA. What do you think mga kababayan, Olympics or not?

I was also amazed by the comments from the fans as it seems they like the system now. These players are playing great basketball, the ball movement was very impressive and they are not afraid to shoot. I think with this lineup, I have no doubt that they will be the champion in the FIBA Asian Cup.

For those who haven't seen it yet, he's the highlights of the game. Gilas Pilipinas vs. Hong Kong window 1 game highlights | FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers

157  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 21, 2024, 11:11:11 PM
No one knows how the crypto market will move so that means that technical analysis will only work about 50% of the time and I think that's the most generous percentage of it's effectivity, some have said that it's not going to work at some point and I do agree that it can happen because sometimes things are just so volatile that it's difficult to follow by the book.
Technical analysis alone will not create full effectivity, that’s why fundamental and sentiment analysis should also be highly considered. Now, since the market is highly volatile that makes it very unpredictable to predict, sentiment analysis will come in. That will help you not to be emotionally attached to your trades, knowing trading at some point certainly fail that may result into losing of funds. But if you really aim for a highly positive trading outcome, never just focus on its technicalities and fundamentals, know the worth of your sentiments so that you will not regret losing your trades because you are too much focused on your greed on profits.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wednesday had been my bad day to gamble. on: February 21, 2024, 03:27:07 PM
~snip~

Anyway, some will say it is just a superstitious belief but what if it keeps on happening?
How about you? Do you have that one day when you feel like you are not even winning whatever you do or whatever game you play?

It really is a superstitious belief my friend since it doesn't happen to most gamblers.... Personally, I don't notice anything like that in my gambling journey. Maybe because I just love action on a daily basis. Sometimes I have a losing streak, and sometimes I have a winning streak—just a normal day for me. However, in your case, since you have already noticed that, and you are playing in a casino which is definitely a luck-based type of game, then do what it takes to win. Choose the days where you are lucky, and see if you can get a consistency in winning like you experienced.
159  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 21, 2024, 02:47:19 PM

New York or Sixers babagsak.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you stand to gain from the bull run. on: February 20, 2024, 11:37:53 PM
The bull run is an exciting time for me. I have been diligent in my research and understanding of market trends. I have set clear goals for accumulating assets through the DCA method. This helps me stay disciplined by regularly investing a fixed amount, regardless of short-term market fluctuations.

I hope to profit from this bull run, especially if it surpasses the current ATH. To achieve this, I keep myself updated with current events as part of my daily monitoring routine. I believe I have a sufficient holding, and I am prepared to gain profits, especially if the value continues to rise. Overall, I feel well-prepared and ready for potential opportunities.
That’s good to hear from you. I guess everyone here wants to have a well-prepared bitcoin portfolio before bitcoin halving and bull run set in. However, the problem is not everyone is capable to buy bitcoin even if it’s only a small portion as some are really struggling in budgeting their finances. And others are also having a difficult time to do DCA consistently because believe it or not, not all those who invest into bitcoin have stable sources of income.

But I also believe that if there’s a will, there’s a way. Go for side hustles to gain capital to invest. It’s only hard in the beginning but when you get used to it, you’ll definitely learn to adjust your finances so you can reserve some funds just for your investment only.
