I have read that the SEC could stall this for up to 240 days!? That's including the stalling they have already done.

I have not used it since bitcoin, but I do have an account. Whenever they send me a spam email I ask if they have included bitcoin yet.

I can only speak for myself, but bitcoin surpassed fiat seven years ago for me. Using a credit card or fiat system seems ridiculously archaic and dumb now. It's like switching to a smart phone, no one ever goes back to a flip phone.

Thanks all for the kind words in this thread. I think I will do this again and include some of your suggestions. I especially like the idea of of online users being able to join the treasure hunt and perhaps provide clues for those who can actually get to the prize. I'll have to come up with a better format in advance. This time I was experimenting a bit. I hope whoever claims this treasure does send me an email. It would be cool to have a conclusion to the story. But if the money moves and no one ever steps forward then I guess we'll just have to think of him/her like Satoshi. It could really happen at any time now.

Well, the .1 BTC is just sitting there now. Anyone can go pick it up or maybe arrange with someone in Iceland. Remember there is also a .01 BTC additional prize for emailing me a photo of the cache. The clock is ticking now. Norrisk has pinpointed it on streetview but was unable to figure out what the monument is about. I couldn't figure it out either when I was there, lol. Stay tuned for updates on the treasure! @Nobitcoin - The 1909 date was a reprint date I think. I removed it to avoid confusion. Our modified camper jeep with heating system and bed. We must have crossed 40 streams driving remote 4x4 roads. One of the many amazing views we saw around every turn.

Nobody? Well I'll let it ride and add another challenge question. Let's see who is awake while I get some sleep. The first person to post the correct answer in this thread wins .01BTC in this simple goole skils question! After posting in this thread the winner can PM me a receiving address and I will pay within 24hrs. The other online photo challenge also remains open at the moment. Happy hunting. The paper wallet has a depiction of early Icelandic vikings. Who is the artist of this image?

Because it is better money. If you try spending the money in your pocket in another country you will discover that it is not real money like bitcoin, which I can spend in Asia, The Americas, Europe, etc. If you try moving the money in your wallet you will also discover that you need lots of expensive help and time via credit card fees, bank transfers, etc. Bitcoin is by far the fastest and cheapest way to move money. If you want to buy something online with the same privacy as paying with cash you are not going to do that with your bank money. There is no more secure way to send money to anyone on the planet. If you actually want to keep your money in a store of value that is not under the control of a bank or government and can not have it's supply, distribution, or value decided by others; you will want to use the only real money, bitcoin.

Today’s mini-game will pay another .01BTC for linking to a photo of the object that the cache is placed under. You can see some of it in the photos I have posted and the other clues should be enough to find a picture online. When I searched using just clues from this thread I found it, of course it helps that I knew what I was looking for. First image of the whole object in this thread wins! I’ll PM the winer and send to the address of their choice. Check your images carefully, once you do you will know for sure if you are right.

You are nicer than I am bro. I would have responded with something like: The price is now $510! and will grow each day. So will the shitstorm of doxing that will be unleashed for late payment. Your parents will be the least of your concerns.

Bitcoin
Gold is at historically high prices and may not have a lot of room to grow. Corvettes are awesome, but will start depreciating the moment I drive off the lot.

Ok. twicezeroiszero has been paid. I'm not posting the TxID because some people like to keep their transactions private. Tomorrow there will be another clue mini-game with another .01 prize.
P.S. the prize has grown with the value of bitcoin and is now worth 7120.39 Icelandic Króna

Today’s clue: Lets play hangman! What town/city in Iceland were the pictures in this thread taken? Post a single letter as a guess and I’ll fill in the correct guesses. Incorrect answers will turn the names of body parts red. When all names are red the clue is ended. Note that the Icelandic alphabet will be used. First person to post the name of the place where this chained rock is located will receive .01BTC to the address of their choice. I am working today, so I’ll update as often as I can.
HEAD NECK TORSO ARMS LEGS JUNK
_ _ _ _ A _ _ _
AmDD with the first correct letter A
Dinki with an incorrect letter C
twicezeroiszero has correctly guessed the city of Keflavík! I'm PM-ing him for an address to send his prize.

The craziest shit you can buy with the bitcoin stays in my eyes the fact that you can buy weapons on the internet just with the bitcoin. In my eyes this is just ridiculous right ? Its just sounding crazy the same thing is applying for the drugs..
What if I live in a place where it it completely legal to buy guns on the Internet? Because it is for Americans. The last 4-5 guns I have bought have been with bitcoin and I doubt I will ever buy with anything else again. The same could be said of drugs as well. If I lived in Washington state I could legally buy marijuana with cash, so why not bitcoin? How does bitcoin make these legal purchases "ridiculous"?

As you mentioned, step one is to secure the legal entity required to collect donations. It could be a non-governmental organization or a not for profit. Until that is in place you really just have an idea. Once you are set up you may find it easier to join a collecting organization like the United Way. They do the advertising and take on the risks for a portion of the donations. And, like any good business, they take bitcoin. Find out more in the link below. http://www.unitedway.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate-bitcoin

Today's clue. Þessi mynd sýnir veskið áður en klettur var lögð yfir það. @OROBTC I thought about it but found that google translate was just not good enough to get into cryptography.

Actually China has the highest number of users and miners as well. Perceptible price fluctuation occurs and that happens in accordance to the active involving of users. For this reason we can see that most users misunderstand that bitcoin is controlled by China.
A better way to say this is that Chinese people control the most bitcoins, but have no additional authority over bitcoin. Think of it like gold. The united states controls more gold than any other country, but they can't control the gold someone in another country owns.
