1501  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slotman.com - Online Casino - Fast Withdrawals - 1000+ Games - Exclusive Bonus on: November 08, 2022, 05:47:31 PM
hey, we're still about. Looks like we completley forgot about our thread here.

With regards to our media channels, they've always been alive.

We've also revamped some of our bonuses, so feel free to drop in and have a look

It's good to see you back, you should fix the image on the first post of the thread, because it's showing an error. And another thing to do is to read the post of other users in the thread, some uses claim to have locked withdrawals and they wait more than 3 days without an answer from the support.

Is complex for the users to trust on a site who doesn't brings the right support, so, let's hope that change soon in your site.

Code:
If last withdrawTime = LastWithdraw+10 senconds
then send the money

If the user has a gambling addiction is not the casinos fault...

This statement is wrong in some way.

There have been so many cases where casinos/websites got sued becuase they did not offer a proper self-exclusion to their customers.

Yes, you can always "claim" the addict can go to another site and gamble, but the duty of responsibility can attract lawsuits against you, if you fail to honor your regulative requirements (assuming you abide by them and that some regulations apply to you via your license / country of jurdisction etc.)

I don't really think bitsler fail on this, because the self-exclusion worked fine, but OP creates new accounts to keep gambling.

Bitsler has that big warning in the footer to help the users with gambling addiction, so, i don't feel the site did something wrong, users must be responsible of their actions.

Think about this, an alcoholic joins to a bar and the blame that the barman makes him drunk... if the man doesn't want to get drunk then why hi join to a bar. We are adults and we must be responsible about our vices.

1505  Economy / Services / Re: [CONTEST] $50 to whoever can implement a historical Bitcoin price API on: November 07, 2022, 06:59:38 PM
Nope. I use CoinMarketCap.com when I need price data.

I know nothing about APIs, so I'll ask: why an API? All data fits in a very small TXT or CSV file.
When you want to get data from a TXT file the pc has to read the file, then cut all the data that doesn't belongs to your query. But when you call data on a data base the computer doesn't read all the data base, the process jumps to the line you are looking to.

The API calls are a combo of database calls and JSON transformation to print the data.

Difference:
SQL
Code:
SELECT * FROM table-name WHERE your date-column >= '2013-12-12'
Bash
Code:
cat db | grep '2013-12-12'

It's because bitcoin-chart-cli is a very small utility that doesn't justify making a download of several gigabytes of price data, just to display a chart. I checked the code, and it seems that only the last 50 days are fetched, in order to calculate moving averages.

Maybe you could change the focus and offer a budget for the one who can change the api bitcoin-chart-cli, or even better, add multiple apis for the scenario where one gets locked.

Here the API path, it doesn't looks as a complex code, maybe you can implement another api by yourself.

If the user has a gambling addiction is not the casinos fault... if you see in the footer on the site they have this link to help users with gambling problems:

https://www.bitsler.com/en/responsible-gaming

Multiple accounts are not allowed in the casinos, and you can open 100 accounts if you want but when you try to withdraw your money, it will get stuck, because you are breaking the rules.

I'm not on the casino side or on your side, but if your gambling addiction is that hard, then you should block all the casinos on your local network, because even if you can block your account from a casino there will be easy for you to find a new site to place your bets.
1507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Haha EDDIE and TEHRANI from STAKE being sued on: November 07, 2022, 04:10:00 AM
I don't think this is old news. Take a look in the stake.com thread and you will see this has been talked about for months. Eddie doesn't seem too stressed about it, least not on the Saturday streams.

As we can read in the article, they think the court will dismiss it.

Quote
The founders of the site –described as the world’s biggest crypto casino– believe that the court will dismiss Freeman’s case.

The amount of the Sue is huge, and it must be justified, so, move like this one to try to get 40% of the company while he was supposed to have only the 16% of the business is just to much, and that's why i think too it will be dismiss. Only time will talk and show us who was right.

Speaking about that...

@LoyceV do you have a data dump of Bitcoin prices lying around somewhere?

Maybe I'll send him a PM.

If you want to have the data of the bitcoin price by day you can get it here:

https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/cryptocurrency/btc/historical

They even give you the option to download the data as CVS and their data rage is from 3/08/2019 to Today. I like they give the highest price and the lowest one of the day. That way you can verify when we had some crazy bump and dump moves on the same day.

Another options for this data are:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/historical-data/
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BTC-USD/history/
1509  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Switch: Turn things on with Bitcoin on: November 06, 2022, 06:20:20 PM
This project has a huge potential, it could be implemented for streamers to let the viewers change the color lights or change the background song on the stream or do some other crazy stuff to let the viewers interact with the viewers.

Another implementation that would be nice is for gambling, can you imagine a coin pusher working this way and paying the profit to the bettors, that would be something nice to see, and it could be create with this software.

Thanks for sharing it, i will look at the source code.
1510  Economy / Services / Re: [CONTEST] $50 to whoever can implement a historical Bitcoin price API on: November 06, 2022, 05:31:59 PM
...
Yes, I have used the Binance API before and it's pretty good. But first let's see if we can make one that is more simple for devs. Smiley

It's impossible to make an API like this without a third party, the bitcoin price comes from the value on the exchanges and we have to request their information if we want that data.

To make your own API with unlimited calls then you have to request all the past data and start filling a database, then each API call will be a request to your data base and not to the data provider, and then you need to keep updating the data base information each X seconds.

Mount this kind of servers aren't cheap because you need a VPS with a nice amount of ram and cpu for all the calls, a huge hard disk for the DB and a big bandwidth.

Just think about the data base with a line for the bitcoin prize each 2 second since bitcoin gets on the markets, that's a huge amount of data.

I hope this information makes you see the full context of your request. A project like this could take months on API calls to create your own DB. The api calls isn't a big deal, is just make request to the db and print the data in json.

1512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PRICE 1.25M$ EACH on: November 06, 2022, 03:15:29 PM
The movie looks to be in the future, it reminds me to mad max, but i'm not sure in what year they was living, i think the bitcoin price was mentioned as a part of science fiction and was a nice detail.

Se bitcoin at $1.25M still science fiction for now, but i don't think that would be something weird in 50 years. We can be sure the price will be or too high or zero. And that was one of satoshi's predictions.

It looks like the budget for that movie was really low, the scenarios didn't change much and the history was really slow from my point of view.
1513  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto raffle game idea | feedback required on: November 06, 2022, 02:58:03 PM
To make it fair i could do a live stream each week of the drawings and use a program like pickerwheel. com to pick the winner, each ticket is going to cost $1

That is not a provably fair way to make a giveaway because the image you are streaming could be a prerecorded video, or an edited video, so for me that method can be rigged.

I would suggest to use the data from a future block to make the giveaways, some weeks ago i posted the guide about how to make real provably fail giveaways, so take a look to it and i hope that information helps to make your game fair for all:

1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would this Lead to the Mass Adoption of Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2022, 12:47:13 AM
I don't think this would lead to the mass adoption, maybe twitter will contribute for that goal in the future, but the fact that having the Blue for $8 will not make a big difference for bitcoin.

If Elon decide to incorporate bitcoin to twitter and let the user send and receive payments with the platform then that would lead to the mass adoption without any doubt, but right now i don't feel twitter is that close to bitcoin yet.

1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: November 04, 2022, 08:04:17 PM
If in the end the court will favor the complainant, automatically the company will lost its own reputation and will definitely lost a lot of potential players that bring so much profits into their own company. However, if the result will be bias, seeing the possibility that they can pay the court on such a huge offer. But if you are a responsible gambler, the fact that you know already that the said company has already been accused and has been sued, then it’s no longer credible and reliable of your trust.

That's true, it will lose it's reputation, but sadly if the company wins they will keep operating and they will avoid paying more wins like this one just because the court is cheaper than paying to the user.

If the company doesn't pay to the winner, then they will instantly become an scam, and that's a crime everywhere, so, they should be stopped by the gov before they avoid to pay again.

1518  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 CryptoGamble.tips 🎰 | Where Crypto meets Gambling | Guides, Reviews & Slots on: November 04, 2022, 03:28:51 PM
were you inspired by the game of GTA vice city? as soon as i saw this color combination i remembered the game of gta vice city
I was going to ask the same question. The style and font of CryptoGamble logo is as same as GTA vice city logo.

I agree, this theme is 100 GTA, to be honest i like it.

And the amount of information about gambling and crypto casinos is huge, i like the fact that they describe us what do we need to have our own casino.

It would be nice to have the option to add new casinos to the engine, i guess we have to contact admin by mail for that, but isn't a big deal. +1 to OP for the nice site.

1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core reinstallation ? on: November 03, 2022, 02:40:52 PM
Hi there, I am thinking of reinstalling Bitcoin Core  in Flatpak packaging and installing a Rpm package. Now, I am wondering is it possible to reinstall BC without any lose of the Blockchain data ?

I would hardly recommend to back up your private keys before any move, that way if something goes wrong with the reinstall or the upgrade you will not lost your address and balances. This is just a security measure and a back up for if something doesn't work fine in the move.

The bad part about losing all blockchain data is the re-sync process that could take some days, but as other users mentioned, if you don't delete the ~/.bitcoin  folder then you shouldn't lose the blockchain data.
