161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: January 23, 2020, 02:33:27 PM
We still remember Inoue's tough fight against Donaire and Casimero's huge upset over Tete. Both fighters are riding on their momentum now and I do hope the fight lives up to everyone's expectation. Both have the power to KO their opponent at any moment with just one or two punches.

I think Inoue will be the favorite here even if this is his first fight in the US.
162  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why does having a LinkedIn profile mean you're legit? on: January 22, 2020, 04:29:40 PM
I have not seen anyone in crypto claim that having a LinkedIn profile means that you are legit. Checking the profiles of the team members is just one of the many steps done when verifying the legitimacy of a certain project. If a team doesn't have LinkedIn, that can be seen as a sign that they are not being transparent. Take a look at the Scam Accusation board and you will find many projects busted for having fake teams.

What do you just think and how do you guys verify someone is legit, say if you want to collaborate/invest in their project?
It's different for every individual. Checking if the information provided in the profile is true is probably the first step.

We also need revenge against Conor, but give us $100 million,” commented Nurmagomedov Snr. “The day after the fight against Ferguson, give us that amount, and then why not hold a rematch? I don’t know, maybe Dana White wants to arrange it (for that amount). He needs that fight.
The talk about haram and doing UFC not just for the money just went out of the window eh?  Cheesy

Khabib's old man sure knows how to talk about business now and I can't say he's wrong with his approach. Everyone wants a piece of his son too and the belt he holds but Conor is still the most lucrative fight to make. It's only right to take advantage of all the opportunities while his son is still in his prime.

Tony Ferguson must be furious reading all these statements from Khabib's father and even Dana. It's as if he's invisible. I hope he beats Khabib and make UFC more exciting than what it already is  Cool

Kabib can't be the face of UFC since the guy doesn't smile often, they can't put a face to the public that doesn't smile unlike Conor
I get your point but that "smile" is just funny to me  Cheesy

UFC has become a sport + entertainment now. If only Khabib was born sooner and joined in the early days, he would have been the face of the UFC. After Royce Gracie, the next generation of fighters and champions became cocky when they quickly rose to fame (with the exception of GSP & Aldo). The fans loved them though and UFC management capitalized on that. They promote fighters with "attitude" more compared to others.

It is the truth, even other fighters are not able to make the money Conor McGregor is making even with the belt
McGregor is not like any other fighter with attitude. His market value skyrocketed because he knows how to talk and he delivers. Some fighters like Diaz and Sonnen can talk but cannot get that belt. Just go back to Conor's earlier fights and see how many fighters he trash talked and KO'd. Long time champ Aldo only lasted 13 secs and the legend Eddie Alvarez didn't stand a chance.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any gambling site that allows betting directly from the wallet? on: January 21, 2020, 03:53:31 PM
Check out this website: https://blockchain-casino-games.com/decentralized-betting-sites/
There are plenty of decentralized betting platform listed there but I have not tried them yet. I believe there's also another platform based on tron blockchain where you can connect your web wallet directly and bet. I forgot the name unfortunately.

167  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Okay. Charge tax on bitcoin. Is this fair policy? on: January 21, 2020, 03:29:31 PM
This may lead to several possible outcomes, <...>
There are plenty of things to consider when creating tax laws for cryptocurrency transactions for sure. I would not want to speak on behalf of our lawmakers but from what I have read so far, our country will probably have one after five years  Cheesy

It's a totally different matter if where you live has uncertain rules. I don't. I don't think that stops people ignoring them 'because it's on the internet and I took the risk so I shouldn't have to pay'.
Oh I see. If there's a specific law that covers tax on cryptocurrency trading profits or losses, then complaining about the tax rates won't save anyone if they don't pay the necessary tax.

Quote
If I were in a place that hadn't clarified anything I'd at least hang something back just in case they ever did. It's a pretty poor show to leave people in the dark completely.
I agree that we should have a regulation by now. It will be a mess if they start coming after people who never declared their income once a law has been passed few years from now.
168  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Decentralized Banking 🏦 on: January 20, 2020, 03:13:00 PM
Teka, meron ba talagang ganito?

"Be Your Own Bank" sabi nga.

My Phone Is My Wallet"?
169  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Okay. Charge tax on bitcoin. Is this fair policy? on: January 20, 2020, 02:27:09 PM
If you make your money trading duck billed Platypus placentas that's taxable. Why on Earth should Bitcoin be any different?

This indignance turns up here so often I suspect there'll be some humongous tax bills arriving on many a doorstep because people thought they were 'special'.
This topic has been discussed in our local board. Due to the lack of regulations pertaining to tax on cryptocurrencies, some would argue that the absence of the law means they are not subject to tax. While others would also say it is still taxable since it is still an income and all types of income are taxable unless it's stated that they're not.

I tend to agree with the second argument. I also think those who never filed their crypto profits will be required to pay sooner or later with huge penalties.

Diba pareho lang yung OTP at 2FA kasi both are the same second factor or code? Sa aken, every transaction that goes out, whether pay bills or cash out to bank, required yung 6 digit code.

Foundations are tricky, don't take them at face value. I will just leave it at that. Kung sigurado ka (hindi siguro) sa isang foundation then go for it.
174  Other / Meta / Re: Proposes to enable these features for temp-ban users on: January 18, 2020, 04:59:53 PM
I've just been freed from the shackles of a temporary ban. This is my stupidity (I missed a sticky rule on the bounties board), sacrificing my account for only .003 ETH giveaway from a bounty thread. I couldn't do anything for 7 days, unable even to send merits and report posts. Only came to read and wait.

I'd like to propose to enable these two features for temp-ban users. Although I have no plans to get banned again forever, at least these two things are the form of contributions to the forum during the ban for anyone.
Hope my proposal can be considered and granted.

Btw, thanks for this 2nd chance.
Your proposals are enabling sending merits and posting bounty reports while you are temporarily banned? If yes, then I don't see the point of banning users. Temporary ban only means you are not banned permanently. You shouldn't be asking for other privileges.

I find the proposal to send merit quite strange. Can you not just wait until the ban lapses? It's not like your sMerit will decay. IIRC, banned accounts were able to send until admin changed that.
175  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Trading 101] Basic Trading Tutorial on: January 18, 2020, 03:44:38 PM
Beginners in trading should note na mahirap paiksihin ang trading tutorials. Kudos pa din for trying to educate.

176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Newbie must learn about BBcodes on: January 17, 2020, 04:20:19 PM
I know how to buy a copper membership. Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't want to buy copper.
For someone sharing tips about bbcodes, you should know how to quote properly. See what you did in my previous post.

You can now browse the forum without hurting your eyes.
Dark mode could be more damaging actually.

178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 17, 2020, 03:53:44 PM
Nobody really saw Mayweather vs. McGregor happening until it was made official so this one is definitely possible. Conor should have realized after all those years that Floyd just allowed him to box in the first few rounds until he gassed out. Maybe Manny will be kind enough to play defensive too for the entertain of the fans.

If the fight happens, I can't imagine Manny's face everytime Conor tries to talk trash during face offs and interviews. He will probably laugh the whole time. Maybe he should hire an "anger translator" again  Cheesy
179  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Fintech Alliance.ph launches Help Taal Digital Initiative! on: January 17, 2020, 03:35:35 PM

Hindi sa pagiging negatibo pero we have to check din kung sino nagma-manage ng mga donations na pwede natin maibigay. As much as possible, ibigay natin sa mga pinagkakatiwalaan natin na foundation o tao.

but if there's some escrow that will handle it for free then that's alright with us however we don't want to disturb or be a burden to escrow since we're going for a long run of business and we won't expect na libre na lang palagi in a long run but don't worry we won't deceive anyone especially mga kababayan ko  Wink
I edited my post above to add reputable active escrow service na pwede niyo kontakin. I cannot speak for them pero baka pumayag na libre ng ilang linggo o buwan.
