1601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 15, 2014, 08:25:13 AM
Borrowing money to gamble with, even when you're gambling with a positive expectation, seems dangerous.  The people lending coins to Just-Dice are fully aware that they might not get as much back as they lend, and are happy with that deal.

That's true. The investors in the Golden Nugget were promised regular payments at a fixed interest rate. They did not benefit if the casino did well, and when the whale took $8.5 million in two weeks, the owners were scrambling to make the payments.

I didn't mean to be personal about sweating 50 BTC, but the previous poster seemed to think that JD had made 50,000 BTC. He was confusing The Bank with profits.

There was a story last year bout Kristoffer Koch,a Norwegian man who purchased 5000 BTC in 2009 for 150 kroner. Currently they would be worth 17 million kroner. He was able to buy an apartment in Oslo with only a portion of his BTC.

The profit is headed to 20,000BTC, it is pretty good considering...

The norvegian apparently bought 5000BTC for 27$ in 2009! He pretends he exchanges 1/5th of its belongings to buy an appartement in the center of Oslo

1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 15, 2014, 08:16:36 AM
Here's your chance to buy in people! Wink
I still haven't bought any at this price.

When the price is low and going down it should be easy to buy because the price is low but buyers are concentrated on the fact that they could buy cheaper

Not everyone has savings to buy
1603  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I didn't pay capital gains tax on bitcoin sales to IRS today on: June 15, 2014, 08:15:28 AM
is it really smart poking the buffalo with a stick?
i hope you are at least posting this behind TOR and if not that the tax man won't subpoena the forum to disclose your ip to make an example.

They would still have to prove that I owe them something.

The burden is on the taxpayer (you) to prove that your tax return is accurate.

if the IRS feels like your standard of living is significantly above your income/assets then they will audit you and they have great investigative ability.

I wonder if they accept the "computer crashed and lost all documents" argument from their victims?

http://freebeacon.com/issues/irs-lost-lerner-emails-due-to-computer-crash-agency-says/

If you cannot produce documents then they can pretty much accuse you (and win) of pretty much everything.

LOL on the Louis Lenner link.

The burden of proof is in the hands of the accuse; it is commun that tax payers end up having huge fines when they didn't cheat or broke the law

The fact that it was not intentional may be considered attenuating circumstance in some cases but it will not save you of paying some fines
1604  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone has a casino site for sale? on: June 15, 2014, 08:13:00 AM
Hi Justin, thank you for your reply.

I have a programmer can help checking the code but it takes too long to build one from scratch.

It can be any kind of casinos, hi-lo games or sports bookie.

What's a turn key solution?

Turn key solution would be a casino site fully functioning where you just have to monitor and implement new features and updates

If you buy a casino from an unreliable source you may have a backdoor in the code that allows the programers to win at will

1606  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 15, 2014, 08:07:06 AM
Why is still going down?

Because people are extremely scared. As soon as the price goes up someone will dump on it, Chinese FUD will be posted, a pool reaches 51% etc. There are people working non stop on trying to take the value of Bitcoin down and right now they control the market. Any hint of bad news atm and the sheep completely panic. A lot of the selling currently is because of "i better sell now before someone else sells". As always the idiots create their own problem. Of course this will change again but when...nobody knows.

There are people saying about price under 300 in few days, im afraid but im not going to sell. Im like the captain of a ship, if it goes down i will go down with it.

It may go down some more and 300 is not totally impossible but it is really unlikely because it's 55% less than the current price and there has been a lot of positive news, adoption is growing and the economic bad news for the states and Europe are around the corner and some insiders know it

1609  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hypothetical battle comparison (Donald Trump vs whale) (dooglus vs whale) on: June 15, 2014, 07:49:00 AM
If it was my casino I would have done it if my bankroll was sufficient Wink I presume Trump roll was more than 100m$

I don't think you can consider that the max bet will stay the same no matter what in the JD case

1-Less than 2% but more than 0.3%
2-Less than 2% but more than 0.3%
3-In an ideal world the max bet would have been 0.5% of the bankroll from the start but considering it was 1% it could have been lowered to 0.5%; dooglus was risking his whole business to make some money, he considered it was not worth it.

An interesting probability would be : when dooglus lowered the max bet from 1% to 0.25% what was the probability of Nakowa to win 25% of the bankroll? 50%? 75%? Considering he had 18k to lose and the max bet was 1% (the bankroll was 32,000BTC which is irrelevant to calculate the probabilities here)

Nakowa probably played on other casinos because gamblers keep gambling especially when they still have the fantsay to have a secret method to win, I wonder if he won/lost big; maybe he will come back and play on JD the max bet is now close to what it was when he stopped playing
1610  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: June 14, 2014, 10:13:09 PM
New idea.  Deposit $200,000 into US auction of confiscated SR coins.  Get as many as you can and hold for dear life!

*or diversify Smiley

If you pegged the auction coins at 550 a piece, the smallest block of 3K, would cost just over half of his 3M.
550 * 3,000 = 1,650,000
Heck, in that case, with the direction bitcoin price is currently heading he just might be able to purchase two of them.  Obviously that would wipe out any sort of diversification of his investment, much riskier but potentially that much more lucrative.

Having bitcoins secured properly is probably the least risky investment you can make in Bitcoin
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 14, 2014, 10:11:57 PM
We already know Martingale is the best strategy there is, but like every other strat, you will lose eventually...its just a matter of knowing when to quit

You can't know when to quit

Yes , thats what i want to know that nakowa actually won how much from JD and behind him who win the most ?
Here is a post from December 2013. It estimates Nakowa as having won 11,000 BTC in September, but now in December he lost 2300BTC
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1suwzo/bitcoin_casino_justdice_highroller_nakowa_loses/

Here is a post from September 2013 from Nakowa himself. At this point he estimates that he was up 6,000BTC. He was upset because JD lowered the maximum bet from 1% of Bank to .25% of Bank.
http://www.reddit.com/r/AMA/comments/1my8fc/im_the_whale_on_justdice_id_love_to_answer/

JD has raised the max bet to .50% of Bank today.

To the best of knowledge, the only real reason to play under different names is so that the casino isn't spooked and lowers the maximum bet. Other than that, I can't see any real advantage.

The owners of the brick and mortar casino, the Golden Nugget, in 2004 struggled with this same problem very publicly as they were being filmed for a reality show by the creator of Survivor. They kept their limits very high when they took over as owners to attract the whales, but then one got lucky after they were operating for 9 or 10 months. The whale took the casino for $8.5 million in two weeks. He then packed his bags and lost it again at another casino. Statistically you would eventually make the money back, but you still have to meet the loans by investors. The owners reluctantly had to cut back their maximum bet.

Players like to play under different names to "change their luck" as well

1613  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: June 14, 2014, 10:06:43 PM
In less than two weeks I can join! Can't wait. Although Stunna should consider a cheap Jr. Member campaign anyways.

1 week and 2 days, then you can get in Wink
And I think he should accept jr members too.

This campaign is already full of people, i think that accepting also jr members would make it not sustainable. (Lot of multi account that post as hell, and of course spam)

What would be the purpose of posting with multi accounts since it is paid per account? How do you know there are a lot of multi accounts?

I think there are a few members that bought up accounts to enjoy higher rates but I don't understand the value of having multi-accounts

EDIT : maybe not to be seen as spamming but instead doing a normal number of messages per account!?

I did a cash deposit on morrex, a trade and I cashed out via interrac online

They were professional and efficient but there is not a lot of volume on morrex, which can be good sometimes Wink

Thank you very much for your feedback boumalo.

No problem, it is from a month ago

Is the exchange picking up? How is it going? New features?
1616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: June 14, 2014, 10:02:55 PM
You have a chance to buy back around 540$

And maybe at a lower price soon
1617  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: June 14, 2014, 09:05:04 AM
My .02 BTC is that you should invest in an ATM network.

BTC ATMs can command relatively high margins when buying/selling BTC to users. If everything is setup properly, as long as the exchange does not go under you should be able to make money off of each TX assuming that your exchange does not go under.

BTC ATMs require a large initial capital investment (over 5 figures) and can have high regularity costs/risks. If you have enough to invest then you can potentially reach an economy of scale.

It is very costly to get all the approvals and it's very complicated

Nobody sold part of his btc stash rebought @ sub 400$?
Buy and Hold is ok, but why don't you take profits on the way to a new ath?

BTC is a bumpy road, there was allways a chance to buy back (with a decent profit.
Selling now is not a good advice, but why didn't you sell above 650$?

If you sold between Jan and October 2013 you didn't get a chance to buy back cheaper, it is just an example
1620  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where should I go to Bitcoin bet on the Soccer World Cup? on: June 14, 2014, 09:01:25 AM
I will suggest Directbet currently its best site for sports betting no account and very quickly withdraw I love these features

Directbuy seems pretty nice but I am looking at Nitrogen as well, it took me 30sec to find the list of bets available though
