1601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: legit or fake? on: December 03, 2018, 10:44:41 PM
There's a thread on the site here (click here), but the Bitcointalk account representing the site doesn't have any trust activity and there doesn't seem to be much activity on the thread in regards to legitimacy. That thread was also one of the only things I could find about the site on this forum.
Looks like their thread is already dead. So I'm just wondering how the OP suddenly found that site and asking the community. Just weird though.
I would assume that Zombiewager decided to start advertising their site again and started going through gambling discord servers and pasting the link to their site there; to be fair, there's very little information on the website so it's normal that someone would ask if a site like this is legit. Doesn't really seem too odd to me at a glance. The OP's got a somewhat old account and has posted about betting in the past as well, so I doubt it's intentional advertising of the site in question.
1602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who reads the whitepaper of a crypto-project? on: December 03, 2018, 06:49:48 PM
I used to read whitepapers all the time when I used to invest into alts, and I can say that it’s actually quite easy to identify what whitepapers are made simply to impress investors and are chock-full of buzzwords and which ones are written with a true purpose and show that a coin or token has potential. It does take some time to read whitepapers and things about crypto in general, but you should be able to find which whitepapers are of good quality and which ones aren’t within the first page or two and discontinue reading accordingly if the whitepapers you’re reading isn’t worth reading.

A whitepaper can also greatly help you understand the basics of a cryptocurrency and its purpose if you have the reading ability and time to do so. If you or someone else don’t know a whole lot about a coin or token, reading the whitepaper of the crypto in question should help out.
1603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chat in gambling on: December 03, 2018, 06:03:58 PM
I’d highly recommend you add in a tab to use emojis in the chat box of your casino. Emojis are a great way for chatters to convey emotion, and I like to use them whenever possible, especially when I’m trying to do something for entertainment like in gambling. I don’t use the chat box of casinos often, but it’s always interesting to speak to other people online and talk about their experiences on the site.
1604  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on: December 03, 2018, 02:38:37 AM
It really depends how experienced you are at trading IMO, though the situation is also relevant. If you're not experienced at trading, I would not try to trade in the short term but just HODL, and if you feel comfortable enough that you feel you can trade and make a profit, then by all means go for it. HODLing is always a valid option in crypto, and you don't always have to be trading. Both methods work in the end, but it's down to how you execute them that determines if you're going to make a profit in the end or not.

I was also able to find a Reddit thread on the site here (click here), and it seems that the site does work. At the very least, the site's been established since at least 2017. I wouldn't put too much money on the site due to its lack of reputation, but it's your own choice in the end.
1606  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPUs | Cheapest Anywhere GUARANTEED | Matching Any Price on: December 03, 2018, 12:13:39 AM
Do you accept cryptocurrency for the sales of these GPUs, and if so, which ones do you accept(BTC,LTC,ETH,etc)? Would you also be willing to take PayPal for these items? I may be interested in purchasing a 1060 or two. Additionally, is there any MOQ for these or are you okay with selling one or two?
1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus P104-100 on: December 02, 2018, 06:08:48 PM
1070 at 259usd with free shipping here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273533623332
Why I have to pay more for a mining card without video ports?

it is simply way faster then the 1070 due to better memory/Bus
Besides this, there are much better listings on eBay that don't have shipping from Thailand or wherever the seller for that card is located. Just after doing a quick search, I was able to locate a listing for a GTX 1070 at around $210 after shipping, and this ships from the US so shipping should be much quicker to anywhere in the US.

eBay has very good buyer protection for all payment methods, so even if a listing happens to be illegitimate, the most you can lose is just some time.
1608  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trezor password manager on: December 02, 2018, 03:52:16 PM
I'm actually using LastPass as I type this post right now, and although I don't have much experience with password managers, my experience with LastPass on Android as well as on a Windows computer has been excellent so far. I've never paid for the premium version of LastPass before, but I don't think the free version of the software is missing anything essential- pretty sure the premium version just adds on some more niche features. The entire thing is very user-friendly and easy to navigate IMO, and there's also a built-in password generator, though I don't use it.
1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus P104-100 on: December 02, 2018, 03:48:06 PM
eBay's going to be your best bet if you're looking for the lowest price you can get on these cards. Newegg does sell the MSI P104-100, but it's priced at a pretty hefty $419 USD. Alternatively, with a listing like this one on eBay , you can get these cards in used condition for around $270 USD including shipping.

BitNand also sells these cards, albeit at $435 USD.
1610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The key reason for gambling on: December 02, 2018, 02:37:36 PM
I personally think it's money and also the excitement of gambling and the rush of winning money; the former is a big part of why I gamble, mainly for the rush of gambling that I don't often get anywhere else. I do obviously want to make money as well, but I don't ever gamble more than I can afford. I've been doing this method of gambling since I got into cryptocurrency in late 2014-early 2015, and this system has worked for me since then.

I've noticed something else in this thread as well- it seems you can only click on one response in the poll. Is this a limitation of the forum, or is there a way to configure this so that more options can be chosen at once?
1611  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How do BTC miners sell their BTC on: December 02, 2018, 02:13:10 PM
I mine a moderate amount of BTC, and I also use an exchange like Coinbase to quickly swap my BTC to USD to my bank account. I personally don't look for features in an exchange, as my main goal's simply just to sell off coins for the best rate I can get, so I'd agree with NotFuzzyWarm that having lower fees would attract miners to your exchange. It'll take some time, but you'll be able to raise fees in the future as you gain a userbase if you wish.
1612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there a myetherwallet for bitcoin? on: December 02, 2018, 12:22:59 AM
Coinb.in allows you to create transactions and then broadcast that transaction onto the BTC network after you verify the transaction on their website to make sure it's valid; this is about the closest thing I can think of to MEW in BTC. I've used coinb.in before for signing a transaction and broadcasting it in the past, and the service worked just fine, albeit I wasn't too experienced with the entire process at that point. It'd definitely be a good thing if MEW ever created a service for BTC in the future, though.
1613  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to buy old unprofitable miners at scrap price on: December 01, 2018, 09:54:18 PM
How much are scrap electronics worth exactly? I am assuming it's worth a little more than a scrap car.

On certain electronics there might be small traces of gold and some copper and those give the most value. However the work required to extract these minuscule amounts is not worth the headache.

I think besides the PSU the fans are the second most valuable item since they are usually the expensive industrial delta type fans for servers.
Yup, the next most valuable items are most likely going to be the fans, as there's pretty high demand for replacement Antminer fans (really just any high RPM 120mm 12038 fan) and other high-RPM fans on sites like eBay, where many of them are selling for ~$11 each, and the control boards for some miner are also somewhat valuable. They're not too heavy or large, so shipping costs for 'em are relatively low, and some of the Antminer boards are selling for near $100 for newer models like the S9 and A3/D3/L3+ to ~$30 for the older S5 and S7 boards.
1614  Economy / Gambling / Re: Multiplayer lightning network game on: December 01, 2018, 09:49:10 PM
This seems abandoned to me as well; this thread should've been buried down in the pages upon pages of threads in this subforum but it happened to be dug up again. Seems like this little project was highly experimental in the beginning and never came to fruition with the white background and plain text on top; truly a shame as any activity on the BTC LN is good.

OP was last active on the 25th of November according to his Bitcointalk account, so it is possible that the owner of the project is temporarily inactive. Could also be that OP abandoned the project recently.
1615  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to buy old unprofitable miners at scrap price on: December 01, 2018, 05:40:32 PM
I still see the Bitmain external PSUs as well as server psus with breakout boards selling for quite a good sum of money (APW3++s, etc), even with Bitmain switching to a different type of power supply that is attached onto their new machines (S15,T15, etc), so adaseb's definitely right about the power supplies still being worth something. GPU miners can also utilize PSUs like the APW3s, so unless mining completely goes under, server-style PSUs will likely still have some worth.
1616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does the Bitcoin price keeps nose diving? on: November 30, 2018, 06:20:53 PM
The Waves DEX has since improved in several ways, and the daily volume of the exchange according to Coinmarketcap has now hit around $1.6 Million, so the exchange is a little better now than how you mentioned it a while back. You can help improve volume yourself and make these DEXes just a little bit more popular by trading on them. That’s what I’ve been doing recently, and if you believe in them, it’s a good course of action to take.
1617  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitSkins withdrawal on: November 30, 2018, 06:13:58 PM
I have used Bitskins since around mid to late 2015, and I can say that the site is legit in my experience. I’ve transacted about $2000 in skins on the site to date, though I haven’t traded skins in a while, and I’ve never really had a problem with ‘em.

Doing what TryNinja said should resolve your issue, and it’ll narrow down the error to something on Bitskins’ end (which is somewhat unlikely IMO). The problem is most likely Steam Guard or something of the sort.

If this doesn’t work, there should be a support link on Bitskins that you can contact to resolve this issue. Just attempt to trade with a friend first to see if the problem isn’t Steam Guard.
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think altcoins will be used for in the future. on: November 30, 2018, 12:27:02 AM
I feel alts will be used for niche purposes in the future or also for use as payments. I personally own a small amount of alts for quicker transactions in times when the BTC mempool's clogged or fees are unusually high, and I know there are specialized alts out there that focus on one major subject, like Wagerr and gambling, and also Ethereum for its aforementioned smart contracts. BTC's used often for payments as it's the most established and well-known cryptocurrency there is out there, but future innovations to crypto payments could cause another coin to be better suited for transactions.
1619  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Wallet no working on: November 29, 2018, 11:08:59 PM
This issue is likely on Blockchain Wallet's end, as I've read a few Tweets on the Blockchain Twitter status with the same issue, as well as a few reddit posts in the last 24 hours with a 'JSON issue' or something of the sort. Your best bet is to try again every few hours or until Blockchain releases an official statement that they've resolved this issue if you're getting a similar error code.

To better prepare for this in the future, you should also consider keeping a backup of your privkey somewhere secure so you won't be waiting for access to your wallet if this happens again once this issue is resolved. Always have a backup for anything related to crypto storage, as you're your own bank with cryptocurrency and you're responsible for the security of your own funds. Can't hurt.
1620  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Finding a secure escrow for digital gift card on: November 29, 2018, 10:52:30 PM
When was this change in policy enacted on Bitify, and where can I see their current stance against stolen gift cards? Even if the site is targeting sellers of stolen credit cards, there's always going to be people that get through, and browsing through the Vouchers and Gift Cards section, there are still pages on pages of massively discounted gift cards that I can only assume have been acquired through illegitimate means or something of the sort.

Even besides this, there's still numerous sales for stolen or fradulently made PayPal accounts with PayPal credit balances up for sale on the site and such. The site's still a hive for illegal activity, but if they've indeed started to crack down on some things, that's a good improvement from 'em.
