I was at 2200 or so but sold 350 at $119.99.  Damn bulls have trampled all over my short selling dream!

so, are you living off your btc in blissful retirement, or what? Cheesy
1622  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 21, 2013, 02:35:56 PM
ok guys, i've got a tracking number for the first package of 200. the second, containing the rest + some for warranty replace will ship tomorrow.
If/when the tracking number gives an estimated delivery date, please let us know.

of course! no date provided yet though. i figure it's still onthe truck that picked it up and hasn't actually reached a DHL sorting facility or whatever.

Say wut!?

Minimum buy qty is 300 but they ship in lots of 200?

I'm so confused.

i have no idea. maybe they didn't have a box that could fit 530?

so, in prepartion for the pending arrival of ASICMINER usb miners, i was finally switching over to cgminer.

this has been unsuccessful...

i have both an amd radeon 6870 AND an nvidia geforce 560 in my system. i want to just use the amd card to mine, but i can't get that working.

I use GUIMiner in my work PC for running a Quadro 600 and a HD7750.  Could never get cgminer to play ball with the two different types of card.

well, if that's the case i'll stick to guiminer for the gpu and just use cgminer for the usb guys when they get here.

i've got a pool (ozcoin) set up in the config file, and nothing else. on startup, cgminer throws an error talking about ADL and CL devices not matching. after reading through the gpu-faq, the cloest to a solution i found was to use the --gpu-platform attribute. well, i tried that, with numbers 1, 2 and 0. 0's the nvidia, 1 SHOULD be the amd, but is only getting maybe 5 mhash, where in guiminer it's 270.

any ideas? or am i being stupid and missing something obvious? note: running windows 7.

here's the output when i run cgminer with -n
Code:
D:\Downloads\cgminer1>cgminer.exe -n

I think it bears repeating that a stable price is not really stable at all when you consider that 3600 new coins are minted every day. It takes new money pouring in to keep the price stable.

You're assuming those 3600 coins are being sold not kept.

Perhaps friedcat will disclose whether he is keeping them or not  Smiley

of course he isn't. he pays them out as dividends.

I don't think I'm going to do anything with SATA for the time being. Mostly due to the connector issue. But I think there is a possibility for a 8-12 chip 3.5" format that has the full SATA connector in the correct position for installing as a hard disk emulator. I'm not going to pursue that idea for now.

Another idea I consider something for later work is a Kondike Solar. A small unit with 3"x6" solar cell attached and DC converter to run it all off 1V. This appears to be feasible and for low cost. ie. the solar cell is only about $1 and so a small portion of the circuit cost. One chip per cell and klego like tiling so you can lay out a full panel that mines from the sun...

solar mining? oh, i'm TOTALLY in.

I am the guy who visited "burnin" and checked that he is a real person.

I personally trust burnin just like that - but it's a bit funny to me that the person that "checked" him is a junior member with 16 posts.
I was expecting some old hand.

Who will now "check" testsieger? Wink

buy me a flight to germany and i'll check anybody ya like. Cheesy (i'm in the US. heh.)

I am the "checker" cause IŽm living in Hamburg. Zefir and SebastianJu ( and burnin as well now) know my identity.... cause I send them my company web page address.

@arklan: no problem:) come to Germany and weŽll drive on the Autobahn to give you a definition of speed...

...give me time. ...like... years... *cough*

1635  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin on Blueseed, the international waters startup ship on: May 21, 2013, 04:39:25 AM
Would a dirigible for a smaller community work? It could travel slowly back and forth between CA and NY...

i'd take to it!

but then, with that flight route, you're in US airspace, which is most DEFINITELY in their legal control. defeats the point, from the "international waters" angle.

still would be incredible... i've long dreamed of such a venture - private home like that, or running a airship based hotel.

FYI, i've been informed by friedcat that the first group buy for the USB miners is supposed to ship out today. so, it possibly the others should be in the dividend...

total units ordered was 511 @ 1.99 btc each = 1016.89 btc.

...and that's ONE group buy.

Thank you arklan, you've just indirectly pumped the price another 10-20%. All those that just tried to short their shares (not me) are now pissed at you.

uhm... oops? Cheesy

Just heard from the cat. Shipping today.

Regarding power: that image is one of the test boards,  not from the emerald or sapphire  batches, there for not representative of what we'll get.  Ours have bigger heat sinks,  and lack the thing at the rear.

it'll work fine. pci-e is forward and backward compatible with all revisions.

excellent! thanks.
1640  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 7970 on pci-e 2.0? on: May 20, 2013, 05:22:10 AM
hey guys. looking at getting a new vid card for my primary pc, not strictly bitcoin mining, mostly gaming and the like.

my question is, i have an asus p755d-e mobo, which only has pci-e 2.0. how would the 7970, which seems to require pci-e 3.0, run on this, if at all? is there another card i should be looking at, or am i looking at a new mobo?
