1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CMC Want's Your Opinion? on: September 10, 2021, 11:57:33 PM
150 Eth or dinner with Vitalik? Is this some sort of Hobson's choice? Because the answer is very easy. It's going to be 150 ETH. I don't want to have a very awkward dinner with Vitalik. Wouldn't even know what to talk about since I doubt we will have anything mutual. I would rather take that 150 ETH, go on a vacation and enjoy for few weeks.
Maybe binance were involved in the flash crash of market and this time they bought a lot of ETH for cheap.
What makes you think Binance caused the flash crash of the crypto market? I doubt a single exchange can cause a huge crash. If they can actually do that, should we all be worried about the short term affect?
1622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin trading? can Bitcoin trading profitable without having loss? on: September 10, 2021, 10:53:56 PM
I have spent time to read about Bitcoin trading, hence want to comprehend how it influence and overwhelm The market in this forum.as a newbie who's interested and curious about Bitcoin trading, eager to be impacted with knowledge from my superiors (legendary and hero members etc)
Bitcoin trading means buying and selling of bitcoin with the goal of making profits. The bitcoin market is somewhat volatile. So people take advantage of this to make some good profits. But trading is no easy job. It has its own risks. The riskier your trades are, the higher will be your profit. So you will have to know what you are doing. Make one mistake, and then you will end up with losing everything. You WILL be making losses when you trade. If there were ways to trade without making any loss at all, everyone would just be trading.
1623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Roulette Strategy on: September 10, 2021, 09:28:01 PM
No such thing as a
watched the video because I am obviously sure that no such strategy exists which guarantees a profit, but I visited the link given in the description and it took me to some wild casino (literally, that was the name of the site after many redirects) and it was a referral link from what I understood. If someone is sharing referral links, it's pretty obvious the guy is trying to earn by affiliate revenue and doesn't have a working strategy. If you have a working strategy why would you need referrals then.

Also if ever there was some trick that somehow existed to make money from casinos, it would be exploited rather than being shared.
Probably a clickbait title. The casino (or a person who joined their affiliate program) is making videos like those to attract people to the casino. But you should still be careful when clicking on random links. And yeah, there are no "such" thing as profitable strategies. Even if one did exist, no one would be sharing those strategies as casinos will find a way to stop people from profiting from that specific strategy or they will all go bankrupt eventually.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was it the El Salvador news that plunge the market yesterday on: September 10, 2021, 08:27:29 PM
Digital currency market plunged yesterday and is still in a state of shock. I don't know what the market trend will be next. Who will have a better suggestion? ? ?
Which El Salvador news are you talking about? Shouldn't it affect the market positively? Anyway, this is nothing new in the crypto currency market. This was just a correction of the price. The market has been green for quite a few weeks. People were bagging their profits early. They know that the prices will go up even more when more people in El Salvador starts using bitcoin and other neighboring countries starts to follow them. So they are selling now to keep some profit and then buy back at this current "discounted" price to maximize their profit. I am quite positive we will recover from this dip as soon as possible.
1625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interview session with store owner accepting bitcoin... on: September 10, 2021, 03:37:44 PM
This was a very good read. Looks like the store owner  knows what he is doing. Even if he doesn't get many customers that are willing to pay in bitcoin, at least he is helping spread the word about bitcoin. More people will be curious about it and will eventually start learning about crypto currencies.
In Q3 he says its better than fiat because fiat transactions "can prohibit users (from) making transactions and ask (for) documentations". If bitcoin is regulated in his country, he will also have to provide documentations and go through KYC process before he can convert his bitcoin to fiat. He also says that he converts his btc earning to fiat at the end of the month. What if the market crashes? How is he going to deal with the losses?
1626  Economy / Economics / Re: Two basic things that can give you an advantage on: September 10, 2021, 12:29:10 PM
Yep, the first thing to do is to remain calm when you see the marketing crashing. Don't panic and sell. The market will eventually recover. You will likely have two options. First is to take some profit, exit and hope that you will be able to buy at a cheaper price to maximize your gains. This comes with a huge risk. If you aren't able to time everything properly, you will lose a lot of money. Your second option is to keep on holding until your profit goal has been reached. The safest way, but the slowest.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice 101 on: September 09, 2021, 10:48:06 PM
There is no such thing as "strategies" or "placing wrong bets". Again, if you are not following strategies, it doesn't increase the casino "house advantage". The house edge (advantage) remains fixed. Dice is a game of luck. You either win or lose. The outcome can never be changed. If you win, take your profit and leave. Keep playing and then you will eventualyl lose everything. This is because the house always win in the long run due to the house edge.
I had my gambling mentor set the wagering number and amount to bet on that have steadily won in dice and place games. So a say dice skills are possible with the right instructor.
Lol, you just got lucky. You wins has nothing to do with "wagering number and amount". It sounds more like you are trying to "sell" your strategies over here.
1628  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency and entertainment. on: September 09, 2021, 10:41:45 PM
Some well-known people's comments on cryptocurrency will have an impact on cryptocurrency. But it only affects for a short period of time, not long-term.
There is a lot of news about cryptocurrency which is a good thing for cryptocurrency.
Whether it is good news or negative news. After arousing some people's curiosity, some people will understand cryptocurrency.
Nothing is perfect.
Yeah, it will have an impact, but we shouldn't encourage people to follow them blindly. And then most celebrities or well known people shill for projects or coins that aren't that great. They promote it because they get paid for it. They don't know jack shit about the project they are promoting. Though the affect is short term it might cause a long term damage. But yeah, at least more people will get to know about crypto currencies when they talk about it.
-snip-
If cryptocurrencies were more secure, I'm sure more people would be interested.
Most crypto currencies are very secure. Now if you store your coins in a careless way, you can't blame the project for losing everything.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Setting up a gambling business on: September 08, 2021, 10:31:04 PM
Am beginning to pick interest in gambling but I don't have any computer code knowledge but will love to operate a gambling site and will like to get some advice from the members of this forum, I have the capital to run the business until it starts making profits.
If you have the "capital to run the business", then hire people to do it for you. Make sure they are trusted and they know what they are doing. A small mistake can be pretty expensive. You have to hire a lot of people to run the business for you. If you are planning to do it alone, I don't think you will be able to do it after a while.
And are you sure you want to start a casino? Look at the market. You will have a lot of competition. To stand out from the crowd, you will have to offer something unique that no other casino is currently offering.
1630  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Give me some investment advice on: September 08, 2021, 10:10:25 PM
I would suggest you to invest most of your money in Bitcoin. If you are looking for long term investment, bitcoin is going to be your best option. Put the rest in altcoins. Not some random, but those that are well known and at the top like Ethereum. You could try investing in some random altcoins too, but make sure you do your own research. Look for projects that are good and has real use cases. Look for projects that help solve issues that currently exists on top altcoins. Invest in those and hold them. They will likely go up once people notice them. Avoid shitcoins at all cost. You will highly likely lose all your investment!
1631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: End of bull run so we sell everything? on: September 08, 2021, 08:56:30 PM
This has been something I have found difficult to decide on . When this bill run ends in a couple of months time should I sell all my VET and XRP then buy back in when the market turns bearish until the next bullrun?

Or do I only sell a portion of what I have and hold the rest for another 4 years. Reason I am asking is could XRP and VET continue to rise once the bull run ends ? I obviously don’t want to sell all my tokens to find they are continuing to rise in a bear market

What are your thoughts ?
This depends on you. Are you willing to take less risk and hold long term? Then don't do anything and keep holding until you reach your profit goal. If you are willing to make some quick profit and take advantage of the dip, then sell when the bull run ends. But the risk here is high since the market is extremely volatile. There is a chance that the market won't dip as much as you expect and the prices go back up again. You will then have to buy at a higher price. Or do like you said. Sell half of it, and buy when when its low. This way you won't miss out much.
1632  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is not limited till buying Bitcoins, it is beyond this. on: September 07, 2021, 10:00:50 PM
Yeah, you are correct. Crypto is not limited to "buying bitcoins" only. If crypto was only about buying bitcoins, then other altcoins would have never existed. People buy bitcoin because it has a good store of value. Unfortunately, we can't use it for making day to day transactions due to high fees and slow network confirmation when the network is under heavy load. But I am 100% positive that people will come up with some solution to overcome those problems without compromising any security. And now different altcoins have different usage. Like you said, NFTs and DeFis are one of them. Even decentralized storage and internet are being developed!
1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $52,000 BTC worth buying now? on: September 07, 2021, 09:33:39 PM
It already crashed. So if you have bought at $52,000 USD, then keep holding! Don't panic and sell all your coins. If you can, buy more now and add it to your current portfolio to maximize your profit. If you haven't bought any, then buy as much as you can. Now is the perfect time. Consider the crash as a "discount". Get it cheaper, keep holding and enjoy your profit in the future. There is no "perfect" moment to buy bitcoin. If you wait for the dip, you will keep on waiting forever.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 07, 2021, 04:22:04 PM
Didn't coinbase do the same thing before? I mean, if I remember correctly, using coinbase back then for making any transaction related to gambling activities would mean that you are breaking their terms of service and your account would get blocked. Your exchange probably knows which hot wallet belongs to which casino. Hence they know where you are sending those coins too. Or maybe because you are using XRP (centralized af). You can still use that exchange. Just send the coins to a non custodial wallet before sending it to an exchage.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7th September 2021 Bitcoin becomes legal tender first in history on: September 06, 2021, 06:46:08 PM
Bitcoin is on the way to becoming an official legal tender by the government, even though there have been so many obstacles along the part the El Salvador government will on the 7th of September accept bitcoin as a legal currency within the country, can we say we are in for another long runoff for Bitcoin market.
So it's tomorrow? Well good for them. At least they are trying something new that no other country has ever tried. Other countries can watch and learn from them. I wonder how they are going to deal with the volatility though. Will merchants instantly convert bitcoins to fiat? Or they will just hold their bitcoins? I have also heard that about two third of the population are against making bitcoin a legal tender. I wonder how things will go.
1636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SCAMMERS NEVER GET TIRED on: September 06, 2021, 06:43:42 PM
Of course they don't get tired sending you scam emails. They don't even actually do anything. They just make one email and then they are automatically sent out to thousands of people. Those scammers just sits back and relaxes while dumb people being greedy falls for those scam. They check after a while to see how many idiots fell for it. They send those funds to a secure wallet while laughing at those dumb people and this cycle keeps on going on.
1637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is only new to the newbie on: September 04, 2021, 04:11:56 PM
-snip-
I was discussing with some one about bitcoin and it's achievements over the years and how this past few years has gained massive ROI for investors and he was so concerned about how people got scammed using online platforms giving negative attributes to Bitcoin to him bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme.

Many still find it difficult to accepting this digital era because of their past experience with internet fraudsters and looters who made many bankrupt when ponzi was introduced. How do you think this stigma can be dealt with and how do we get people out of this so the don't get left out due to their FUD letting them settle on their negative notion about crypto generally would only make them aggressive with crypto investors and would still see the world the way men in the 80s saw it with lots of limitations
Because your friends are reading articles that are shared on facebook or twitter. If you look at the media, most of them just try to spread FUDs. They use clickbait and miss leading titles to gain some attention. You will notice that during a bull run you will see articles that talks about stuffs like "someone losing his bitcoins" or "how a guy lost all his coins because he threw away his old hard drive". Those articles are very old, but they start appearing again just to scare people. Your friend should be reading articles from  reliable source and stop believing everything he reads online. Why don't you help and educate him?
1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin goes higher the poor will not participate on: September 04, 2021, 03:56:17 PM
Why would it be "expensive" to buy bitcoin when it goes higher? You don't have to own one whole bitcoin to enjoy its features or make profit. You can always buy a fractions of the coin and hold it. Start investing with $10, $50 and so on. Slowly keep adding and accumulate more coins. Just keep this in mind that investing in crypto currencies comes with high risk. With high risk, you get high profit. Don't invest anything on crypto if you can't afford to lose it all. If the poor person can't afford to lose the money, he shouldn't be investing at all.
1639  Economy / Exchanges / Re: how often exchanges settle transactions? on: September 03, 2021, 11:22:09 PM
Not really. If you ever used a centralized exchange and made a deposit, check the transaction on the blockchain. As soon as you make the deposit and it has some confirmation, your exchange account gets credited and you will notice that the coins from the wallet you sent to gets moved to another wallet within few seconds. The wallet that receives the coin is the "hot wallet" of the exchange. All coins sent by every users are sent over there. The coins that you see on your exchange account are just numbers, not real coins. If you make 10 different trades, those numbers are changed and adjusted. Once you make a withdrawal request, the exchange checks "the numbers", updates it accordingly and then sends you the coins from the hot wallet. Everything happens over here off chain. That's why you don't see any records of those transaction on the chain.
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SOL is already $144, can still buy it? on: September 03, 2021, 11:11:04 PM
Don't FOMO and invest. If you are thinking about investing because you believe that it is a really good project, then go ahead and invest as much as you can. Even if the price crashes and you hold for long term, you will likely make some good profit. But only invest what you can afford to lose. The price of Solana after reaching $130 USD the other day, crashed down to as low as $100 USD. Some people started to panic sell. Those who bought at the ATH started to regret. Others held on their bags. Look at the price now. Its higher than before. But don't forget to do your own research. Do you think Solana will still be relevant when Eth 2.0 upgrade goes live? Do you think the ETH sharding update will make Solana obsolete?
