1661  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 21, 2018, 12:05:43 AM
im out too, i dont think they offereed new S14 to users, i think they want to shut it down...or not, so strange....
There's been no new miners in ages. I cannot see Hashnest continuing to function in this mining environment, with coin prices falling and news that Bitmain may be losing money altogether. I predicted this a while back when there wasn't anything new being added to Hashnest, and it appears this will come true. It might be that they'll remove all active miners 'till mining becomes more lucrative again.
1662  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS USA Only] New Ryzen Threadripper 1950X $500/Offer BTC/ETH on: November 17, 2018, 07:54:14 PM
Still for sale. I am open to any offers; PM me for offers and inquiries!

The Threadripper 1950x has since been sold. This thread has been locked as a result of this.
1663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nitrogensports froze my account on: November 17, 2018, 05:04:43 PM
I'd definitely try sending a PM to the NitrogenSports Bitcointalk account. Explain your story in the PM, link this thread, and wait. I expect unless there's a legitimate violation of their terms you'll get your account back soon. I've personally never had problems with NitrogenSports before (gambled for ~2 years on their platform, mostly for eSports), but it's indeed odd that you were banned for having multiple accounts when you claim to only have a single account.
1664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why the cryptocurrencies platforms for freelancers are still not adopted? on: November 17, 2018, 04:57:32 PM
Yup, the UI being worse on most cryptocurrency freelancing platforms is definitely a big part to why people don't use such platforms. Heck, the first thing I see on the XBTFreelancer site is a big video unavailable notice as one of the videos on the front page of the website got copyright struck on YouTube.

Platforms like Fiverr are also usually more established than most crypto freelancing sites, and some people feel more secure using these more established services, despite the fact that they can have relatively high fees. Some people are also turned away by the volatility of cryptocurrency.
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is BroMiner Legit or Scam? on: November 17, 2018, 02:20:52 PM
All the information I've been able to gather about this site leads me to believe it is a scam. This Reddit thread details a redditor mining and not being able to cash out, and this Reddit thread also shows a redditor stating that he never got a payout. Either way, mining via your browser is extremely inefficient and not really worth your time in the end, especially when mining profitability is as low as it is right now. If you want to seriously mine XMR, try to acquire a real mining rig, or at the very least, start an actual mining program instead of mining through your browser.
1666  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: https://legitbtc.site - The best HYIP monitor on: November 17, 2018, 02:15:17 PM
There's a reason why HYIPs are listed in this forum as under the gambling subforum- investing in one of them is basically throwing your money away, and you're much better off doing something else with your money. I used to regularly invest in HYIPs in my early days on this forum, and things always ended up with the creator of the HYIP running away. Don't make the same mistake I did, people. HYIPs are a waste of your time and money 100% of the time, and if you're looking for a quick buck, there are plenty of things you can do in the Services section you can do for money.
1667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday deals on: November 17, 2018, 12:40:38 AM
Not exactly direct, but it's always possible to convert BTC to Amazon GCs and use them on Amazon during their week-long Black Friday deals week (I usually get AGCs from BitRefill's Vouchers section, never had problems); I did this last year with my account that has Amazon Prime, and everything went smoothly as you would if you used Prime with a credit card. Bitrefill's also got Walmart, eBay and Best Buy Giftcards if you're looking to buy from any of those retailers during Black Friday.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMCARE is part of the problem, it's not a solution! on: November 16, 2018, 02:40:29 AM
As others here have said, quitting an addiction such as one with gambling takes dedication and stamina to push through the initial wave of pain and discomfort that may come along with quitting, but it's entirely possible if you have the drive to commit. I strongly agree with avikz here, and even if you are pointed towards a real hotline you can call or something of the sort that will get you to real assistance, you'll still need to have the mental willpower to eventually break free of a gambling addiction; I would not suggest gambling at all if you don't have much mental willpower, as I find people who are mentally weaker tend to become addicted to things extremely easily.
1669  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you tried #Twim platform? on: November 16, 2018, 02:31:25 AM
Although hidden whois listings are now popular among most cryptocurrency- related platforms, this is still a pretty big red flag to me looking at this exchange.

Using newer exchanges adds lots of risk onto your already risky task of trading. I would suggest to not use this trading platform for now unless a coin you're trading is only on this platform, as I don't personally feel it's worth it to risk trading on a new platform for the miniscule improvements the site claims to offer.

The only information I have gathered online about this exchange was on Reddit, and all this information came from a subreddit with one subscriber and most posts occurring in late October. Seems like a relatively new trading site based off what I've found.
1670  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tension about Ethereum on: November 16, 2018, 01:56:55 AM
The market cap of a coin doesn't really matter a whole lot in trading IMO, and all coins have taken a tumble recently, just some have fallen in price more steeply than others. Once things start to settle down after the recent tanking in price of all cryptocurrencies, I expect there may be a point where Ether is once again #2 in market cap if you care so much about it. Ethereum might be on a downfall, but this definitely isn't as big of a deal for traders as it might seem, and many more factors contribute to a downfall of a cryptocurrency.
1671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction on: November 15, 2018, 10:35:47 PM
Yup, you can configure your own transaction fees on Electrum, though there are presets for low, medium, and high fees IIRC, as well as fees by satoshi/byte. Sucks that you can't set your own fees on Copay; I used to use it for buying Amazon giftcards, but not for much more past that. I most likely will also discontinue using Copay, as I like to have control over fees and I've just never had good experiences with wallets that don't allow you to configure custom fees.
1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly advice/warning about gambling in this market on: November 15, 2018, 06:24:52 PM
This is actually one of the reasons why I’ve completely stopped gambling as of recently, from playing games like dice to betting on eSports matches. I do have some fiat accounts with cash on them, so I’m going to temporarily bet on my fiat accounts while this little battle boils over. I haven’t moved a penny of my coins since the big drop yesterday was messing with the exchange prices sites like Bitrefill were charging for Amazon Giftcards as well; it’s unfortunate that the BCH battle’s affecting BTC in this manner, but I’m sure it’ll be over in a minute.
1673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble or think it's a waste of money and time? on: November 15, 2018, 06:04:55 PM
I gamble relatively often with cryptocurrency, and I don’t believe it is a waste of time nor money. I spend money on gambling mainly for entertainment, and gambling should by no means be for profit. If you’re looking to potentially make money on crypto casinos, some sites do offer investment options where you deposit money to put in the bankroll of the casino, and you can choose the leverage of your investment on most sites as well (higher leverage= more risk but also more reward).

There is house edge present in all casinos like you mentioned, but this really doesn’t detract from my experience in the end as my goal isn’t primarily to simply make a consistent profit.
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have miners capitulated yet? Nobody talking about 2070 rtx hashrate on: November 15, 2018, 01:15:27 AM
Yup, the 2070 would be a viable card if it weren't priced so high and mining profitability wasn't so high, but things are horrible for GPU mining as Za1n noted, and you're better off mining with multiple cheaper cards like RX 570/580s at this moment if you did so choose to mine, which is a risky proposition right now anyways with the price trends in crypto and also the difficulty trends. More people might check these out if mining profitability goes back up again, but right now it just doesn't make sense to buy.
1675  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy now the 4$ smartphone, shipping worldwide, pay secure with paypal or crypto. on: November 14, 2018, 09:09:44 PM
OP is a new member of bitcointalk with no reputation whatsoever- I would highly suggest making a payment with PayPal if possible for this smartphone in case anything happens to go wrong, as PayPal allows you to chargeback and/or file a dispute if anything goes wrong, and you should have plenty of evidence to provide to PayPal if the item isn't ever delivered or is something not as described. Bitcoin payments have pretty high fees for something that costs $4/7 with shipping, and there's no buyer protection if you pay via Bitcoin.

Still a pretty neat gadget nevertheless; if anyone happens to get a unit, please review the device and send it here. Both videos on the Buy page of this product are ripped from YouTube (Unbox Therapy and Gadgets 360), and reuploaded through the Freedom 251 Youtube channel. A bit odd that these haven't been copyright struck or removed from YouTube or anything yet; perhaps the rules differ on item review videos?
1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HashAltcoin [Blackminer F1] - Bittawm Trust Review on: November 14, 2018, 05:03:30 PM
Everything looks good with this review! Additionally, HashAltcoin offers a demo for the F1 on their website if you’re interested; my test run went just fine with the linked ZP pool in the first post of this thread.

Where does this miner ship from? I live in the United States and I am aware that there’s a pretty hefty import fee for miners from China. I have a feeling this does ship from China given the site has language options in English and also Simplified Chinese, but it’d be great if someone could confirm this information.
1677  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Coinmama a scam? on: November 14, 2018, 04:55:42 PM
I’ve used them in the past for a ~$100 transaction and things went just fine, still seems good with what I’ve read on sites like Reddit about transactions with Coinmama. The fees on the platform are admittedly a bit high, but nothing too bad for the convenience that you get from using the site. The site requires verification, but things usually take a few hours or within the hour as the site advertises, and you’ll likely be able to purchase coins the same day you verify yourself.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Block Chain going to be the only option for the Gaming industry ? on: November 14, 2018, 12:33:26 AM
Most of the popularity for online blockchain-based casinos comes from the fact that there is no identification required, thus allowing essentially anyone including minors to gamble. There are still fiat casinos out there that do things better than crypto casinos in several aspects, so I don't think that crypto-based casinos are going to completely replace fiat gambling, but it's definitely taking away a good chunk of the userbase of fiat casinos as of right now.

The adoption of cryptocurrency by gaming sites is also good for crypto adoption, which is good for essentially everyone in crypto already. Considering how big the gaming industry is at this moment in time, this is actually very significant.
1679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should one know about Bitcoin trading to avoid the risk of getting scammed? on: November 13, 2018, 10:27:47 PM
Having common sense and being able to use the internet works for me. I have never been scammed by an exchange or by trading, and though there are many exchanges out there that are clones of real sites and are used for phishing. When you're using an exchange, make sure the SSL certificate is authentic and make sure that the URL is correct with no misspellings- there are sites out there that have one or two misspelled letters, and some people I know have fallen victim to such sites.

For sites you're unsure about, search on this forum to make sure whatever exchange or service you are using is legitimate. I search on Google using the format "(Site Name) Bitcointalk" to find threads and posts from this forum, and clicking on a few threads from the results you find typically help out in deciding whether a service or exchange is legit or not.

If you're unsure how old a site is, doing a Whois search of the website can reveal when the domain was registered. Many scam websites have very recently registered domains and/or hidden whois information, and either of these is a huge red flag most of the time.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling website to invest into? on: November 13, 2018, 10:05:51 PM
Dicebet and Bustadice are two other sites you can try investing in; the latter is very reputable among these forums and the crypto community. Though Dicebet's a somewhat newer site, I've tried investing in their site and things went perfectly with no issues. Support responded with an issue I had with deposits nearly instantly, about a month ago when I tried to invest on their website.

This thread also documents investing in Dicebet and Bustadice. Keep in mind that higher investment leverage on a site like Dicebet can result in high rewards but just as much in losses- this happened to the OP of the linked thread, with a 66% loss recorded last week.
