1681  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Advice for new users regarding CLOUD MINING on: November 13, 2018, 09:49:14 PM
Looks like another cloud is defaulting. Cyrptomining.farm is failing to make payments: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5040529.0

Why I'm not surprised? In fact I don't know any cloud mining service that was actually legit and made to keep their business. At the end all users of such services lose their money.sooner or later.
That is why I always say that to keep away from cloud mining is the best decision you can make. But still there are always people who will fall for their tempting offers.
We keep on telling people not to invest into any cloud mining sites even into the oldest ones like HF and Genesis since we do already know on what would
be the possible circumstances we would faced up in the end. I didn't even expect that there are still some scammy cloud mining sites as of today yet they
had already been bust up already but still peoples greed will always be the reason for this scammers to continue to pop up.
It really doesn't matter how much we tell people such sites are scams in the end, as not everyone in crypto browses these forums unfortunately, and as you said, greed takes over people very often. It's sad that things like this happen, but they'll continue to happen for quite some time.

One feature typical of most scams besides the most obvious things most people notice on the surface include the site requiring a deposit in order to withdraw funds, something that happened in the thread linked.
1682  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does Crypto-Games have a new BTC Cold Wallet? on: November 13, 2018, 02:49:41 AM
Not completely on topic, but from where did you find the cold wallets of the gambling places you looked up? I tried searching for some in the past and came up with nearly nothing. It'd be great if you could give me a source, whether it's a list or scattered posts here and there.

Can't hurt to post in their ANN thread or simply PM the owner of the Crypto- message Bitcointalk account about this. Both the thread and the owner of the account are extremely active here, so you should get a quick response if you choose to go down this route.
1683  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Royal Escrow legit? on: November 12, 2018, 06:51:32 PM
If you’re looking for any form of escrow, I guarantee that there is a reputable member on this forum is willing to offer their services out there to you. For larger deals, someone like OgNasty or possibly even Blazed may be willing to escrow your transaction; in the end, look at the reputation of whoever will escrow your transaction. If it’s deep green and the noted risked BTC amount in the Trusted feedback section (assuming you have proper DT settings) and also untrusted feedback section is great enough for you, go for it.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do I start mining on a Raspberry Pi 3? on: November 12, 2018, 06:11:46 PM
You can get miners direct from the retailer (e.g from Bitmain’s official site), or from third party sellers either new or used, like the Computer Hardware section on this forum. Make sure you use escrow when buying and selling miners on this forum to avoid any potential scams initially, and you’ll be set. Some people do not sell to newbies because there is still risk involved in dealing with newer members, but there is always someone that will sell to you there.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: EOSTiger.io - 55% Revenue Share Paid Daily - 1000 EOS Jackpot on: November 12, 2018, 05:54:45 PM
Thanks for your support! Although I am not a coder,  I can say that EOSTiger are legit. I staked my TGC and have been receiving daily payouts ever since like clockwork. The time plan for the release of new games is insane. And they are super easy to reach on telegram.

The site even loads and is properly formatted on mobile, though I do get the error message “Scatter not in it” upon trying to sign in on my Android phone.

You must have an EOS wallet. At the moment the only wallet supported is Scatter  Cry (also only Chrome + Chrome Scatter plugin combination). However the dev team are working on more different login methods... Then you will be able to login with a number of diff EOS wallets. Also lots and lots of new games coming Smiley

Here is a good setup guide for scatter:

https://www.reddit.com/r/eos/comments/9ag8id/how_to_set_up_scatter/
https://steemit.com/eos/@ajose01/eos-and-scatter-part-1

That’s what I thought, I had a suspicion that a wallet is needed like with most blockchain-based applications, but there isn’t a clear warning that this is needed on the site to log in; it may just be the fact that my browser does not show an additional warning, but if not, I would suggest making a pop up that can be disabled, signaling that Scatter is needed to use the site. It’d cut down on future issues like the one I had.
1686  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you do with your airdrop leads? on: November 12, 2018, 02:39:53 AM
Still can't hurt to use the emails and details provided to do a bit of marketing; otherwise, you're just leaving these contacts for nothing. It is indeed true that many airdrop and bounty participants are only in for the rewards and aren't truly interested in purchasing tokens, but marketing to these emails was the original purpose of creating bounties and airdrops, although the purpose has now shifted to just increasing the total number of token users in the case of email collection.
1687  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now a stable coin? on: November 11, 2018, 02:18:00 PM
Volatility has indeed declined recently for the USD/BTC pair that I'm looking at right now, but the price of BTC still isn't completely stable and there are still price movements of $100 and $50 every now and then. It's always possible to trade altcoins if you're looking for more volatility, but try to look at trading guides for inspiration to make your own new strategies. There is plenty of information out there in regards to trading in a less volatile environment on the internet for you to read; you can always take a break until the market becomes more volatile if you don't feel comfortable.
1688  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bounty/ Airdop so Low you cant trade it, Gas is even more expensive on: November 10, 2018, 08:54:15 PM
The bounty campaign managers as well as the actual creators of a coin or token in your case don't really care about how many coins are distributed to participants, but rather they just care about advertising, which is what bounty campaigns are all about in the first place. There's more and more people coming into crypto to earn a quick buck, and as long as the requirements for bounties and airdrops remain where they are, bounties will continue to become more and more saturated. This is why you should always read in on how many coins are being distributed to bounty hunters, what the ICO price for a coin is and how an advertised price per week value is calculated if it is being advertised in a campaign. It really doesn't hurt you to read between the print in the end.
1689  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Botting v manual trading on: November 10, 2018, 08:29:31 PM
I'd honestly try both holding and also a bit of trading as well. I've never had great luck with bots, and that might just be due to my lack of experience with them, but it's always good to never put all your eggs into one basket. Most bots can be extensively configured, and it takes quite a bit of learning to configure your bot to trade at its best during a bull or bear market. Trading bots also require more maintenance than most people think.

Investing into a casino is a good low-risk investment that I've had very few problems with in the past, but make sure you're only investing as much as you can afford to lose in the end. There's no guarantee you'll get your money back if something happens to the casino you invested in, and the casino loses its funds.
1690  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shapeshift Membership on: November 10, 2018, 08:24:42 PM
Shapeshift Moves to Membership Model Requiring User Information!

I think crypto services are being forced to move to such models.
Another one bites the dust...  Cry Cry Cry

Why do you think so? They will lose some of their market share in the short term, however, I think they will thrive in the long term. The recent trend is crypto seems to be shifting towards KYC and lots of it. Most Asian exchanges demand them and Coinbase is doing very well regardless.
KYC's something many people avoid here, and this has definitely hurt Shapeshift in the short term. Other more anonymous options that don't require as much verification will definitely thrive in this current crypto ecosystem; the optional KYC on Binance is a big contributor to why they've blown up in popularity and volume in the last few months.

Bisq is indeed a good alternative for a plce to swap coins without vertification, but note that to use the platform you'll need to have a computer that runs Windows, Mac or Linux. There is an app on both the Google and Apple app stores for Bisq, but they're just for notifications. Binance has also worked flawlessly for me with very few issues. The limits without verification for me aren't too much of a problem, though you do get enhanced limits for withdrawal, etc if you do choose to verify yourself.
1691  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS USA Only] Sealed Ryzen Threadripper 1950X $500 BTC/ETH on: November 10, 2018, 08:15:28 PM
I've dropped the pricing on this brand-new Ryzen Threadripper 1950x to $500 in BTC/ETH with free shipping in the continental US. Message me for sales inquiries and offers. These commonly go for around $580 on sites like eBay, great deal for all the HODLers here!
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What GPU to buy and what is up with proffitability calculators on: November 08, 2018, 10:59:43 PM
Additionally, it's important to realize that profitability calculators simply extrapolate information for one day and extend it to months or years in the future to calculate future profit, which is extremely unreliable as a number of factors including difficulty and coin price can influence how much you're going to make in the future. There are also multiple ways to configure miners, and most calculators that offer default settings set it to default for most ASICs and usually a mild overclock for GPUs. If you choose to mine with a GPU, make sure you have a good number for power consumption and average hashrate, and then plug in the rest of the numbers.

I assume you're in Europe looking for GPUs, so locations such as Amazon or a national electronics seller depending on where you live can be a good option to buy GPUs for a good price. The Computer Hardware section is also a good place to look at current card prices and for buying cards.
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Looks to Expand Crypto Mining Business on: November 08, 2018, 10:42:41 PM
Doesn't really seem they are looking to expand their crypto segment considering mining profits have dropped for miners and their sales attributed to mining have massively dropped off due to the decline in mining profits. There hasn't been any new mining-specific card releases in some time, and I don't anticipate any crypto-oriented releases are coming in the near future from them after the current stocks of mining cards sell out, and even if this comes out I doubt it will be very successful considering GPU demand is extremely low at the moment.

I assume the article linked in OP is quoting new card prices, but IIRC the cheapest RX 570/580 cards on the market are selling for as low as $100 and below used on eBay and various local sales sites. Even new mining cards aren't usually at $150 with the deals we've been having recently.
1694  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Lightning network explorer mainnet. on: November 08, 2018, 09:37:50 PM
First off, your site is very neat, navigable, and has everything I need from a Lightning explorer. I tested this with the Bitrefill Lightning node, and the information seems nearly correct except for the issue that things aren't being analyzed in real time, which is a minor drawback compared to everything else on the site. I typically don't use Geolocation for nodes, but it's something neat to look at. Good touch!

Second, what sources do you use to calculate the fiat pricing of coins? You don't have anything like a FAQ on the site that explains this, and this is something typically listed on most block explorers. It's always interesting to me and also somewhat important that sites use a reputable source to base prices off of.
1695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SMS verification services with Italian numbers? on: November 08, 2018, 09:07:45 PM
I've been looking on several other forums and I haven't been able to find any SMS verification services with Italian numbers; in fact, I haven't found anything about numbers from Italy except for free numbers which I assume won't work for you. The services section is your best bet, as Potato Chips linked above.

IMHO escrow isn't totally necessary as I know most SMS verification services charge just a dollar or two for most countries, and that's not a large amount of money to lose to me personally, but if it's a big deal to you, then by any means use escrow. The problem is that 99% of reputable forum escrows have a relatively high minimum escrow amount compared to the cost that most SMS verification services charge.

You could also make a WTB post in the Digital Goods section. I feel that's the other relevant board for finding SMS verification besides Services on this forum, and Digital Goods gets a relatively high number of visitors on this forum.
1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: November 08, 2018, 08:57:35 PM

lol, ya think?  I heard stuff arriving often with dust o the blades and dirty...

just saying...it is Bitmain. All that stuff they announced one day and shipped the next week...where do you think it came from? B3, A3, decred etc?

I like the never to ROI 7nm BTC miners they launched today. With a 27.6% tariff and import fees to the USA

never to ROI within a year current or sideways BTC prices.

The saying is: If you are buying ASIC equipment and hoping that your crypto of choice will pump to cover your equipment bet...you are better off just hodl'ing the crypto!

I wonder how long till the scrypt pow (LTC) version is out?

Also, these new 7nm BTC miners use a LIVE buss bar and PSU is attached on the side....thus no way to use all those previous Bitmain PSU and leads anymore...

so there is that also Sad

later
brad

Considering these units are likely used units with previous use, there's definitely the chance that some units may be a bit dusty and need cleaning, though Bitmain has proven us wrong in the past and they've shipped out well-cleaned machines or machines with low use hours. The tariff does kill the break-even period in the United States where I unfortunately live like you said; I love mining, but at this moment it's either I get GPUs and mine with those or just buy and hold with the fees on top of the shipping costs and all.

The new design definitely doesn't bode well for future miners, and I wonder if Bitmain PSU prices on the secondhand market will drop as a result of this. I personally think there's a very high chance any future Scrypt miners will use a similar form factor to the S/T15s, but only time can tell.
1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling on: November 08, 2018, 08:50:40 PM
There's all sorts of gambling sites linked in the forum just above this one (Gambling). If you'd like to gamble on some older and more reputable sites, Fortunejack, Primedice, Yolodice, Bitsler and 777Coin are good places to start. All of these sites have been around for just as long as I can remember being in crypto, and they all work just fine. Newer sites may have more games or new features, but if you're gambling a lot of money at the same time, there's always the possibility a newer site can just run off with your money.
1698  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to buy btc with paypal on: November 08, 2018, 08:47:22 PM
Yup, considering PayPal transactions can be reverted a long time from the original transfer date (some people quote 180 days, it may well be more), most people here don't sell to anyone without sufficient forum reputation. The Currency Exchange section harizen linked is your best bet, but it's going to be tough for a newbie like you. Make sure you're dealing with a reputable member so as not to get scammed, or a reputable exchanging service if you choose to go down that route.
1699  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can this guy really be more than 90% accurate on EVERY single trade? on: November 07, 2018, 11:23:50 PM
Signal groups almost never work, and I've joined quite a few in the three years that I have been trading cryptocurrency. It's definitely not worth the money in the end, because some groups may turn out to simply be altcoin pumping groups in the end, or the signal accuracies are just not as good as claimed. Either way, learning to trade takes time, and joining a signal service isn't much of a shortcut. I highly suggest you take the time to learn how to trade yourself. It does take time, yes, but you'll be able to trade as well or better than whoever you linked in your video.
1700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethash 900 MH/s for $3700 would you go? on: November 07, 2018, 09:01:59 PM
Yep, it is 30 GPUs. I don't want to waste my time selling it one by one. I already have such amount of GPUs. I just want to lower my cost of farm, because previous ones where bought in 2017 December 2018 January when high prices kicked in... Speaking about el. consumption I will squeeze easily 6GPU rig to 700 Watts with 180MH/s. So 3500W in total, i don't know how leowonderfulcould make them run with only 3000W.
I haven't mined with 570s in a while as I've sold off most of my rigs and I used numbers from a post I saw on another forum I saw a year ago, my bad considering I was just guesstimating. Still, it's going to take a bit of time to break even like fanatic mentioned if you plan on just mining and not immediately selling off the parts, and if you do choose to go through with this, the resale value offsets the risk somewhat. If things don't turn out well for you and you've mined for a few months, you'll have broken even and then some, and the 570s likely won't drop too much further in pricing soon.
