Welchen Aspekt meinst du genau, wo du genauer nachforschen willst?

About the left, I prefer the non-authoritarian, non-statist versions (worker cooperatives and all).

Your approach sounds centralized, so how are you gonna squeeze 'em taxes out of people's brainwallets?

PERL, I like to insist, stands for Perl-Emacs-Rand-Linux, the four things I'm most passionate about. So here are my pages on these modern-day wonders. (Most pages are still under construction. Should be up 'soonish' ;-).

Perl

Larry Wall's interpreted systems language, Perl, features a potent mix of the best 'magic beads' from languages of the past, a very tight economy of expression, zero bureaucratic baggage, and more than one way to do anything. It's now object oriented, extensible, embeddable, and better than ever.

Emacs

Richard Stallman's full-screen, extensible, customizable, self-documenting editor with a built-in lisp system. 'Nuff said. This beast is the greatest boon to efficiency since the roller ball bearing, and it runs on practically any platform.

[...]

Linux

The Operating System "of the people, for the people, by the people", Linux is a veritable revolution in free software. Having used and reviewed practically every desktop OS in common use, I found that Linux is simply the coolest way to run your computer. It's my OS of choice and I'm an outspoken Linux advocate in India.[/size]

alas, the first versions of Bitcoin came developed with Microsoft(!) Visual Studio(!). A sacrilege for a Linux and Emacs warrior.

Some of them even discuss how to prevent
humans from spawning, because Earth ( so
they say ) must be inhabited only by plants and animals. Wink

that's not necessary. Population only rises in 3rd world countries where survival pressure is high. They bear much offspring to compensate high child mortality, it's an evolutionary program. Population in the 1st world is stagnating at best. All that's required to live more harmonious with nature is that there exist a well enough living standard everywhere. And we in the first world wouldn't need to depend on exploiting the 3rd world if we'd properly recycle our stuff.

1708  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy consumption could become an issue if bitcoin really breaks through on: May 26, 2013, 11:59:53 AM
It doesn't matter if there is a natural cycle and if there is currently actual global "warming" or "cooling" going on.

The more we interfere with the natural (chaos-theoretical) global eco-system by depleting resources too fast or releasing too much CO2 too fast, the more we disturb processes that have been settling down through millions of years and to which we've adapted through evolution, and the higher will be the probability of effects to backfire at us (think atmospheric turnover).

I'm not talking about Earth itself, it will survive, at the end of the day we can only harm ourselves.

About Bitcoin, I'm confident that the energy issue will be solved in one way or another, probably in a somewhat surprising way.

I only knew Molyneux from his economic videos and standpoints, so this is kind of new to me, is he really recommending almost anyone to practice "defoo"-ing? This is kind of new to me and really gives a sect-like impression. Any experiences from bitcoin users here?
1713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Bitcoins a Good Investment? on: May 24, 2013, 04:40:01 PM
But as they say, "bad money drives out good".

That is only true when an authority like the state enforces the use of bad money and merchants to accept it.

If that is not the case, then good money will drive out the bad, because merchants will prefer and demand it (gold, silver, bitcoins).
1714  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Rückverfolgbar oder nicht ? on: May 24, 2013, 02:07:50 PM

1720  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Socialism? on: May 22, 2013, 04:22:05 PM
No THAT IS COMMUNISM. If anyone is in control (EVEN WORKERS). it's Communism.

No, communism is a term coined by Engels and Marx as an interpretation or "advancement" of socialist theory. Communism may be distinguished from socialism by the idea that a global revolution and world-wide solidarity between workers (hence "The Internationale") is needed to overcome the stranglehold of the state and rich capitalists.

Needless to say, there is a lot of disagreements between the different schools of thought.

I still say that communism has been tried to achieve, but it always ended in totalitarianism.

The Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc was not communism, it's better described as monopolistic state-controlled capitalism (all capital in the hands of the state). Rulers often abuse and pervert ideologies to justify dictatorship. Marxists would argue that today's capitalism is ending in totalitarianism as well (I know we don't have a truly free market but then again how can it ever exist? You don't like the central bank? Well guess how it came into existence. Due to the concentration of capital in the most powerful "free" banks who then went on to lobby for the central banking system on Jeckyll Island.)
